 Abstract
This study examined the influence of self-efficacy, communication competency and critical thinking disposition on the clinical performance ability in nursing students. A convenience sample of 274 subjects were recruited from four colleges, and the survey was conducted from September 1st to 20th 2015. The data were collected by questionnaires and analyzed with the SPSS WIN 21 program, using descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation coefficient and multiple regression. Significant positive correlations among the self-efficacy, communication competency, critical thinking disposition, and clinical performance ability were found. The regression model explained 40.8% of the clinical competency. Self-efficacy, communication competency, critical thinking disposition, and image for the nurse were factors influencing clinical performance ability. Therefore, it is necessary to develop an educational program to improve the self-efficacy, communication competency, and critical thinking disposition of nursing students.
