예비교사의 관점에서 본 초등수학 수업에서 교구의 의미와 사용 방법 분석

초록

본 연구의 목적은 초등예비교사들의 관점에서 본 초등 수학 수업에서 교구의 의미와 사용 방법에 대한 실태 및 인식을 분석하기 위한 것이었다. 이 연구를 위해 1년 동안 75명의 초등예비교사들이 수학 수업에서 교구 활용을 관찰하여 분석하였다. 연구 결과 초등예비교사들은 수학 수업에서 교구 사용에 대하여 추상적인 수학 개념을 위한 도구의 의미로 보았고, 집중 관찰의 기회를 통하여 교구 사용의 의미와 역할에 대하여 재인식하는 기회가 되었다. 그리고 교구의 사용은 학습 주제에 따라서 자체 제작한 형태로 다양하게 사용하고 있었다. 교구의 사용 시기도 도입부터 익히기까지 고르게 사용하고 있으며, 대부분 상황의 제시와 함께 사용하였다. 제언으로, 교육과정이나 교과서에 보다 적극적으로 교구를 의미 있게 활용하도록 하고, 학교에 비치하여 활용하도록 할 것 등을 제안하였다.
