A Study on the Improving Communication in Libraries

The purpose of this study is to help researchers and librarians in theory and practice. Communication was defined, and functions of communications were explained variously. It was to understand clearly the process of communication that some models of communication were presented. Barriers of effective communication were investigated and how to improve communication was suggested in order to overcome barriers of communication.
A Study on Patterns of Scholarly Information Seeking of University Faculty

The purpose of this study is to find out scholarly information seeking patterns of university faculty in Korea. It is important and necessary to understand their information seeking behavior and also to assess the characteristics of communication process of scholarly information seeking in order to build and operate efficient library information system. For this purpose, a questionaire consisting of 15 information seeking channels was designed and used for interviewing three major groups of professors namely science, social science and humanities. Based on the Statistical Analysis System analysis of the questionaire, it was found that there is significant differences among three specialization field groups for 11 out of 15 questions and there is significant differences among age groups for 7 out of 15 questions.
Study on the Xylographica of Myopopyunhwakyung Printed by Movable Type in the Chosun Dynasty

This article investigate the xylographica of Myopopyunhwakyung printed by movable type in the Chosun Dynasty in three aspects. It analyze： i ) the spread to the East Asia of Myopopyunhwakyung and its distribution； ii ) the distribution of Myopopyunhwakyung printed by movable type in the Chosun Dynasty； iii) the bibliographical characteristic of each edition. There are many editions of Myopopyunhwakyung, it is important to divide its circle of editions and to suggest the value, Myopopyunhwakyung was printed and distributed by movable type of Chojukapinja and Eulhaeja style in the Sejong and Sejo reign. Its reprinted edition was distributed from the Sungjong reign to the Youngjo reign. the bibliographic characteristic of each edition of Myopopyunhwakyung is various and peculia in the temple calligraphic style, an illustration of Buddha preaching, and the list of participants and donors.
A Study on the Accomplishment of Lecture Evaluation in University

This Study is the summary of studies in analysis of‘Lecture Evaluation’made at H university where such evaluation for every course established has been carried out since 1990. This contains the contents of questionnaire drawn up through OMR scanner which has 7 fields with 10 items respectively. to investigate the general direction of the results, results of evaluation by lectures, different results of evaluation by fields, and the like. I applied such techniques of statistical analysis as T-test, analysis of variance table(Anova-table), and Regression analysis to examine the most important factor of successful lecturing.
A Comparison and Analysis of the Tasks Carried out in the Library and Archives

Archive science is similiar to the basic concept of library and information science, especially in terms of accessing, conserving, using archives. Historical and administrative study groups has presented theoretical and logical facts to absorb archive science into their field of study. However, In the library and information science group, the level of research and interest of archive science is relatively poor and even apt to regard archive science with exclusion. This research is an analysis of the tasks carried out in the library and archives. It takes a deep look into the similarities and differences between both fields and also look into the possibility of integrating archive science with library and information science.

Business information system should utilize the provided various information services from information resources： namely, the improvement of business information can be achieved by the establishment of an business information center and by the employment of qualified librarians. Therefore. employers may get effective management and operation on theirs business when their adoption of innovative technologies, management strategies and information services are combined together. Especially, the information services they can get through Internet. prompt decision making adoption of new policies, flexible organization of business management and innovation of technology will be the core factors.
The Study on the Search Mechanism in Digital Libraries

The purpose of this study is to research and analyse the end user's satisfactions concerning the architecture, design, format, terminology, query formulation, hits, that is, the primary factors of the search mechanism in digital libraries. and then, to present its improvements. The search mechanism of National Digital Library in Korea is decided as the sample, and the 80 students who majored in the library and information science are selected as subjects. The end user's satisfactions are measured by questionnaire.

All the libraries are facing major financial problems due to a variety of reasons such as non growing or even decreasing appropriations from their administration, continuing inflationary increases for journal and library materials, needs for new or improved facilities. increased costs for new technologies and networks and more demands for services. To address these financial problems, library administrators need to find ways to supplement their budgets through existing as well as new creative external funding strategies including grants, fundraising. sponsorship. resource sharing fees and others. This paper is drawing fundraising and sponsorship. But this financial aid is not an Aladin's lamp which, if rubbed three times, will give you three wishes and all the money you want. So this study is reviewed the history of fundraising, environmental situation in connecting with library law, status-quo, practical process for fundraising and existing sponsorship methods.
A Study of Internet using Citation Analysis

The purpose of this study is to identify important web pages in a particular area The basic premise is that citation analysis can show a similar relationship among different web pages. Web pages about‘weather’were found using a search engine Each web page was examined by hyperlink from other web pases and/or to other web pages. After this process, seven web pases are linked by many web pages. Seven web pages were analyzed by co-citation analysis. The result shows that selected web pages are linked by characteristics of information provided.
A Study on the Reading Promotion Act and Reading Circle in Public Libraries

Public libraries should establish and manage many branch libraries and outlets in order to improve the cultural level of the residents. For the first time a reading circle to be able to make residents do the reading activities is organized and it may have an effect that service point baseborn that reading circle is expanded. 1) The public library organizes the reading circle according to age and subject of the people. 2) The public library files the blanket program for unified management of all reading circle within the jurisdiction. A home page is administrated for exchange of information of members of each reading circle and arrangement and administration of activity of the reading circle by establishing‘News letter’is able to have an effect.
A Study on the classification scheme for the design of Directory Search Engine on the web

The purpose of this study is to develop the classification scheme in subject-based directory search engine for educational research information on the web. Five classification systems. Yahoo Korea, Argus Clearinghouse, DDC, ERIC thesaurus and KEDI thesaurus were measured in terms of coverage of subject fields, system logic, accuracy of terminology and efficiency of searching. For the design of Classification Scheme, this study considered the content of subject areas, features of information resources and efficiency based on users. Finally, the Classification Scheme was established in terms of 16 main divisions and 47 sub-divisions in educational research information.
A Study on Web-based Library User Instruction Model for Academic Libraries

The purpose of this study is to suggest a Web-based Library User Instruction Model as a new direction for library user instruction while emphasizing importance and necessity of library user instruction. In order to do this. both the US and Korean library histories are described first. then the Web-based User Library Instruction Model that applies both the educational theories and the recent developments in technology is suggested.
