Proposing the Shear Force Equation of GFRP Strengthened Masonry Wall

This study does by purpose that propose shear resisting force equation of reinforced masonry wall that is reinforced by GFRP(glass fiber reinforced polymer) based on result that is noted through cyclic loading of masonry wall and a shaking table experiment of mock that reflect identifying marks of masonry building which is constructed in domestic. It was Rocking mode to dominate failure of masonry wall in the experiment results, and the equations of UBC show the most resemblant value with experiment results. Through this study, propose the shear force equation of GFRP strengthened masonry wall as following.
Seismic Performance Evaluation of Beam-Column Connection for Panel Zone Strength

The study proposes the method to cancel the scallop to avoid fracture of the circumstance of the scallop at H shape column-to-beam connection and reinforce at beam flange two faces with the cover plates and rib. A total of four specimens were tested to enhance seismic performance of building structure by reducing the frequency of stress concentration and preventing the brittle fracture of scallop. For this purpose, four full-scale test specimens were made and loaded with quasi-static reversed cyclic loading. The main analytical parameters are panel-zone-strength ratio, yield strengths, initial stiffness, total plastic rotation, contribution of each element to total plastic rotation and energy dissipation capability. For the specimens tested under repeated loading, the experimental result was satisfied with seismic performance requirement as the Special Moment Frames (SMF). The analysis results show that all of the test specimens were found to have good performance to 4% story drift and satisfied the criteria for the plastic roation capacity of SMFs that is 0.03 rad. according to the 1997 AISC seismic provision.
Pilot Study on the Typhoon for the Meteorological Information Application and Disaster Prevention

It is very difficult to forecast accurately a damage from the natural disaster which occurs frequently due to the climate change. When the significant weather event is forecast, it will be able to minimize a damage with the suitable prevention action. But 2000's our country meterological disaster damage is a several trillion won. Therefore, this paper analyzes Korea Meterological Administration, Japan Meterological Agency, television and newspaper have reported, information substance, transmission system, an ex post facto valuation about typhoon Nabi between september
in 2005 and heavy rainfall in 1998 at Japan. Through the investigation, we want to present basic data order to rises the application effect of disaster prevention meterological information. We think KMA must present many information report to promote a people's understanding about the meterological information and the serious disaster situation. Also the disaster damage estimation model development is necessary, which forecasts the accurate damage scale due to the weather event, such as typhoon, heavy rainfall, strong wind. And also we think the KMA, National Emergency Management Agency, related agency, television and newspaper must positive reports the contents which is suitable to disaster response phases and an ex post facto examination. Then it grasps the problem of disaster prevention meterological information and must improve effectively.
Estimation of the Roadbed Settlement and Bearing Capacity According to Radius of Curve and Cant in Railroad

The research on the track performance and stability of the tilting-train was performed and the settlement of the roadbed was estimated as the tilting train was being operated on the rail joint under the allowable velocity subjected to the track performance and the stability of the tilting-train. Since the impact on the continuous welded rail (CWR) induced by the tilting-train loading is different from the impact on the rail joint, it needs to investigate the settlement of the roadbed beneath the CWR. In this study, when the tilting-train is being operated on the CWR under the allowable velocity subjected to the track performance and the stability of the tilting-train, the settlement and bearing capacity of the roadbed beneath the CWR have been evaluated using numerical analysis and compared with those beneath the rail joint. The numerical results show that the settlements of the roadbed beneath CWR and rail joint are amount to 71.2% and 88.8% of the allowable settlement, respectively. And the stresses are amount to 10.4% and 12.1% of the allowable bearing capacity, respectively.
Estimation of the Blasting Distance Satisfying Allowable Peak Particle Velocity - Analytical & Numerical Analysis Approach

The blasting load induced by the explosion of the powder generation the vibration of the ground and affects on nearby ground and underground structures. The structures are possibly damaged and it may create the social problems such as noneconomic construction due to the delay of the construction period especially in urban areas. Determination of Design Channel Width for from Medium Rivers in Geum-River Basin

The parameters are determined analyzing the hydraulic and hydrological characteristics of design floods, watershed, channel length, and river bed slope. The models are calibrated while the input hydrologic data are the field data of middle size areas in Guem river basin in Korea. The basic equations of design width are suggested by the multiple regression analysis and the results show excelled in comparisons as well as calibrations with the existing empirical formulas and the design criteria, respectively. The basic equations of design width in validation process is determined the regression functions with the design floods, watershed, channel length, river bed slope as the four parameters using other database in the same scales watershed. As a results, this study will be used for apply to determine of design width and river alignmentof the watershed in hydraulic fields.
Runoff Estimation Considering Dividing Watershed

The purpose of this study is both the variation of hydrologic topographical informations extracted by using WMS and the quantitative effect of rainfalll-runoff simulation due to dividing watershed. Miho stream basin in Geum river was selected by this study. Watershed dividing method are determined by area, channel slope and channel length. Hydrological response of divided watershed using Clark method, SCS method and Snyder method was compared with actual measured flood hydrograph. As a results, area-based watershed dividing method are particularly suitable the hydrologic applications using SCS method. This study can be used as basic data for the phase of the runoff variation in Miho stream basin.
Prediction of Watershed Erosion and Deposition Potentials

A model for predicting potentials of land erosion and deposition over a natural basin was developed based on the mass balance principle. The program was developed based on sediment mass balance principle for each cell in a GIS. Sediment yield from a cell was estimated with RUSLE. The outflow sediment from a cell was calculated by multiplying the sediment yield of the cell by the sediment delivery ratio (SDR) of the cell. The outflow sediment from the upstream cell becomes the incoming sediment of the downstream cell. Therefore the erosion and deposition potential of each cell could be determined from the sediment mass balance i.e., the difference between the incoming and outflow of sediments of each cell. The developed model was validated by comparing the predicted sediment yields for three basins with measured data.
