Recently, the new refrigerating system, using non - fluorinated hydrocarbon refrigerants has to be developed for the agricultural fields. One of that kinds of systems is the cooling system using the water vapor and vacuum, in which the water evaporate at the low temperature under vacuum and absorb the large amount of the latent heat. If vapor with large amount of latent heat is removed from the system, the system is cooled accordingly. The characteristics of cooling under the vacuum was observed and measured using experimental apparatus, which is consisted of vacuum chamber, the ejectors, the pumps and the measurement apparatus. As the results of experiments, we know that the evaporation in the vacuum occurs vigorously when the materials to be cooled has more amounts of heat before cooling, and by which effects the materials can be cooled. The cooling vacuum system is more efficient than other methods when the agricultural products is chilled or dried.
A Study on the Flow Characteristics of a Two - Dimensional Oblique Plate Impinging Jet

Turbulent flow characteristics of a two - dimensional oblique plate impinging jet(OPIJ) were experimentally investigated. The jet mean velocity and turbulent intensity profIles were also measured along the plate. The jet Reynolds numbers(Re, based on the nozzle width)ranged from 10, 000 to 35, 000, the nozzle - to - plate distance(H/B) from 2 to 16, and the oblique angle (a) from 60 to 90 degree. It has been found that the stagnation point shifted toward the minor flow region as the oblique angle decreases and the position of the stagnation point nearly coin¬cided with that of the maximum turbulent intensity.
A Study on The Hydrodynamic Behaviours of Two Phase Flow in Rectangular Entrained Flow Combustor with Cavity

The present study is aimed to investigate experimentally on the hydrodynamic behaviours of air ~ pulverized coal flow in rectangular combustor with cavity. Mean velocity, density and tur¬bulent properties of pulverized coal in rectangular entrained flow combustor were measured by PDA. Experimental results show that the flow reattachment point at the lower plane in the com¬buster chamber has been developed near X/D= 15. The similarities at each section are found after the flow reattachment point. The maximum values of turbulent intensity and Reynolds shear stress have been shown near Y/D=6, which is higher than centerline. The maximum density of the pulverized coal sited in the range ofY/D=6~8.
A Study on the Evaluation Method of Fatigue Strength of Membrane Type LNG Tank(I)

The membrane type LNG tank is non self-supporting tank which consists of both primary and secondary membrane supported through the insulation boxes by the adjacent hull struc¬ture. Although the membranes are not structural member. They are subject to periodical cyclic loads due to the thermal expansion and other expansions or contraction of membrane. At the design stage of the tank, an analytical and experimental approach on the fatigue strengths of membrane and its welds is necessary in order to assist the designer and the inpector. In this study the evaluation method of fatigue strength of membrane type LNG tank is pre¬sented with FEM analysis and fatigue test of lap welds and it contains the following:1) The fatigue tests and preparation of design S - N curve for lap welds 2) FEM analysis of test specimens 3) Estimation of cumulative damage factor of lap welds 4) Guideline for inspection of lap welds of membrane type LNG tank As the results of analytical and experimental approaches in this study, the evaluation method of fatigue strengths of membrane type LNG tank is proposed, which is expected to be useful for design and inspection of membrane type LNG tank.
A Study on the Feedforward Amplifiers with Error Correction

In this paper, a feedforward amplifier with error correction is designed and implemented. This amplifier is composed of operational amplifier, the performance of which is compared with that of the reference amplifier without feedforward error correction. As a result, the sec¬ondary harmonics level is improved about 10 [dB]. Therefore it is shown that the proposed feedforward amplifier network is to be adopted able for wide - band amplifiers.
Time Series Prediction Using a Multi-layer Neural Network with Low Pass Filter Characteristics

In this paper a new learning algorithm for curvature smoothing and improved generalization for multi-layer neural networks is proposed. To enhance the generalization ability a constraint term of hidden neuron activations is added to the conventional output error, which gives the curvature smoothing characteristics to multi-layer neural networks. When the total cost consisted of the output error and hidden error is minimized by gradient-descent methods, the additional descent term gives not only the Hebbian learning but also the synaptic weight decay. Therefore it incorporates error back-propagation, Hebbian, and weight decay, and additional computational requirements to the standard error back-propagation is negligible. From the computer simulation of the time series prediction with Santafe competition data it is shown that the proposed learning algorithm gives much better generalization performance.
Spectrums of Chua's Oscillator Circuit with Five - Segment Piecewise - Linear Function

This paper describes an implementation of Chua's oscillator circuits with five - segment piecewise -linear function. Some bifurcation phenomena and chaotic attractors observed experimentally from the laboratory model and simulated by computer for the model are also presented. The Chua's oscillator circuit is implemented with analog electronic devices. Com¬paring both the observations and simulations, the spectrums are satisfactory.
