This study was designed to investigate effects of Yukmijihwang-tang(六味地黃湯) herbal acupuncture on the ovarian function, pregnancy and delivery in mouse. Yukmijihwang-tang herbal acupuncture solution wsa manufactured by steam distillation method (sample A) and water-alcohol method (sample B). Each herbal acupuncture solutions were injected into CV4(關元) of the mice for 4days once a day in qd. we observed the changes of body weight, the number of ovulated oocytes and morphologically normal oocytes, the developmental competence in vitro, the number of implanted fetus and offsprings, the distinction of different periods of pregnancy and MAP kinase activity and phosphorylated MAP kinase activity from the uterine tissues of mice. Body weight compared with control group was showed statistically significant increase in sample B group than sample A and control. The number of retrieved oocytes and mophologically normal oocytes, the in vitro developmental competence to blastocyst staged embryos and the numver of implanted fetuses were showed statistically significant increase in sample A and sample B groups. Sample B group was showed statistically significant increased numver of implanted fetuses. Furthermore the number of fetuses at parturition were observed statistically significant increase only in sample B group. The effects of Yukmijihwang-tang herbal acupuncture injected in different periods of pregnancy were showed statistically signigficant increased number of fetuses only in the group injected from ovulation to implantation. And the activity of MAP kinase and phosphorylated MAP kinase activity from the uterine tissues of mice were showed statistically significant increase in sample A,B groups. In conclusion, Yukmijihwang-tang herbal acupuncture had beneficial effects on ovarian function, pregnancy and delivery in mouse.

The Journal of Oriental Obstetrics and Gynecology, volume 15, issue 1, 2002, Pages 19~19
Phellodendri Cortex is a medicinal stuff obtained by drying the bark of Phellodendron amurense RUPR and Phellodendron chinese SCHNEID which belong to rutacease. This study identified antineoplastic activity and immune enhancement activity of extracts of Phellodendri Cortex and their fractions, and proved experimentally that they are useful in antineoplastic and immune activator,as follows. 1. B lymphocyte stimulus activity of 2mg fraction of Phellodendri Cortex was tested through the formation of polyclonal antibody in a C57BL/6XC3H mouse. The result of the test showed that the fraction Fr-2 had the strongest activity, and a 10-20mg of dose was the most effective. 2. The administration of 2mg/100g Fr-2 into a mouse in which sarcoma 180 solid tumor was implanted showed tumor inhibition rate of 95.3% which tended to be dependent on concentration. 3. B lymphocyte stimulus activity of the fraction Fr-2-3-2 apleared to be very excellent. In the composition, carbohydrate accounted for 100%. 20mg administration brought out maximum stimulus activity. 4. In the review of chemical luminescence activity of phagocytes by concentrations of the fractions Fr-2, Fr-2-3 and Fr-2-3-2, the chemical luminescence increased from PEC on the fifth day, eighth day and ninth day, respectively, after feeding 20mg to each mouse through mouth. The activity was maximum on the eighth day. It began increasing on the second day and continued increasing until the eleventh day. It was found that the formation of phagocvtes in spleen was dependent on dosage. 5. Then, the effect on the cell toxicity and leady enzyme of blood of the fractions Fr-2, Fr-2-3 and Fr-2-3-2 was examined. It was found that endoperitineal administration of 950mg/kg extract had no effect on S-GOT, S-GPT and S-ALP twenty-four hours later, and there was no effect on the toxicity and leaky enzyme of blood of Fr-2,Fr-2-3 and Fr-2-3-2. In conclusion, this study identified B lymphocyte stimulus activity, phagocyte activity and antineoplastic activity of Phellodendri Cortex which are found to be dependent on concentration.

Bang-yak-hap-pyun(方藥合編) is the book to understand how Korean Gynecology developed since Dong-eui-bo-gam(東醫寶鑑). So I studied the transferring courses of gynecological Prescriptions of Ha-tong(下統) in Bang-Yak-Hap-Pyun(方藥合編).I had studied be fore that it is Comparative study on Observation of Transcription Process in Gynecological Prescriptions of Joong-Tong(中統) in Bang-Yak-Hap-Pyun(方藥合編) and the Books Related to GynecologyResults from the study on the transferring course of gynecological Prescriptions of Ha-tong(下統) in Bang-yak-hap-pyun(方藥合編) are as follow.1. Gynecological prescriptions of Ha-tong(下痛) in Bang-Yak-Hap-Pyun(方藥合編) is 14 cases. They mostly heal amenorrhea, mass, pregnant disease, disease after childbirth and Lee-Gi-Hwoul-Chung-Youl-Ji-Tong-medications(利氣活血淸熱止痛藥) is major medications and specially frequency of Hwal-Hwoul-medications(活血藥) is higher 2. There was no error to transfer gynecological prescriptions of Ha-tong(下統) in Bang-Yak-Hap-Pyun(方藥合編) to Eui-Bang-Hwal-Too(醫方活套)3. The source of the prescriptions of Ha-tong(下統) in Bang-Yak-Hap-Pyun(方藥合編) was indicated in Go-Geum-Eui-Gam(古今醫鑑) and Eui-Hak-Jung-Jun(醫學正傳) 3times, Eui-Hak-Ip-Moon(醫學入門) and Tae-Pyung-Hye-Min-Hwa-Je-Gook-Bang(太平惠民知劑局方) 2times, Jong-Heang-Sun-Bang(種杏仙方) Eui-Bang-Zib-Lak(醫方集略) Ok-Gi-Mi-Eui(玉機薇義) Man-Byoung-Hoi-Choon(萬病回春) for once.4. As a result from study the transferring courses of gynecological prescriptions of Ha-tong(下統) in Bang-Yak-Hap-Pyun(方藥合編), I found that 13 of 14 prescriptions were transferred through Dong-eui-bo-gam(東醫寶鑑). and Lee-Bi-Tang(理脾湯) of Ha-tong(下統) 163 was not transferred through Dong-eui-bo-gam(東醫寶鑑) and transferred through Jea-Jung-sin-Pyun(濟衆新編). Therefor gynecological prescriptions of Ha-tong(下統) in Bang-yak-hap-pyun(方藥合編) are mostly influenced by Dong-eui-bo-gam(東醫寶鑑) but try to develop and supplement Dong-eui-bo-gam(東醫寶鑑)

Purpose : To evaluate whether pregnancy - delivery affect weight gain and study the factors that can cause weight change agter delivery. This research on the patterns of BMI after delivery can be clinical material in this field. Methods : Analyzing the body composition of women who was taken postpartum care in conmaul hospital postpartum care center from Jun, 2001 to Jul, 2001. Height, prepregnancy body weight and their delivery time weight were recorded. Body composition was also checked within 7 day of delivery and after 3 months of delivery by Body Composition Analyser. Body water, fat, muscle, BMI were measured respectively at those two times and examined the patterns of BMI and body fat change according to the number of pregnancy, mode of delivery, lactation period, weight gain during pregnancy. Result : Weight gain during pregnancy period was 13.82
3.58 and weight of after 3 months postpartum reduced 5.85
4.26. But body fat reduced just 0.94
2.23. Afetr 3 months postpartum, body weight retentionwas 4.31
3.10. Body fat of Women bearing first child reduced 1.11
2.58 and bearing more than second child reduced 0.53
1.35. Body fat of normal delivery group reduced 0.64
2.27. And ceasarian section group reduced 2.67
1.43. Case of lactation period was less than 1 month, body fat reduced 0.7
2.3 and more than 1 month, reduced 1.07
2.3. Conclusion : This study suggests that pregnancy and delivery can cause weight gain but the changes of body fat and BMI has no relationship with those factors(the number of delivery, mode of delivery, lactation period). And there is no relationship between the rate of body fat, BMI reduction, weight retention and weight gain during pregnancy period.

A frequency of infertility is increasing significantly nowadays. In the result of that, a number of assisted reproductive technologies is growing also. While these assisted reproductive technologies are treatments of infertility, a significance of side effect trends to grow because it is one of causes which increase a complication during pregnancy. We will report a case of a woman. She was hospitalized at our hospital becase of a cerebral hemorrhage in her 37th week of pregnancy by IVF and ET. She shows a good progress as we use ingestion of herbal medication, and a treatment of acupuncture and moxibustion side by side. We think that we need more progressive researches so that oriental medical management and treatment will do a active role to treat a multiple pregnancy and side effect due to the assisted reproductive technologies.

Recently women who are interested with postpartum recovery are increasing. Because many of them have been troubled with swelling, weakness, joint pains, etc. after birth. 産後風(chan hou feng) or 産後身痛(chan hou shen tong) is a postpartum pain syndrome which generally means a series of syndrome by reason of the wrong care after delivery including not only articular rheumatism, muscular pain but also vegetative neurosis, articular diseases in the menopause. Then we report the case that a patient got the oriental medical treatments for severe pain around the pelvic region. She had got KUB X-ray from acute gastroenteric trouble and been ascertained her sacrum and coccyx was normal in 1999. After delivery in 2001, however, she was found to be the gap of the bones atonic and wide in KUB X-ray. She got hospital treatments for 産後風 (chan hou feng) and her symptoms was disappeared.
