Application of Texture Feature Analysis Algorithm used the Statistical Characteristics in the Computed Tomography (CT): A base on the Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC)

In this study, texture feature analysis (TFA) algorithm to automatic recognition of liver disease suggests by utilizing computed tomography (CT), by applying the algorithm computer-aided diagnosis (CAD) of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) design. Proposed the performance of each algorithm was to comparison and evaluation. In the HCC image, set up region of analysis (ROA, window size was
pixels) and by calculating the figures for TFA algorithm of the six parameters (average gray level, average contrast, measure of smoothness, skewness, measure of uniformity, entropy) HCC recognition rate were calculated. As a result, TFA was found to be significant as a measure of HCC recognition rate. Measure of uniformity was the most recognition. Average contrast, measure of smoothness, and skewness were relatively high, and average gray level, entropy showed a relatively low recognition rate of the parameters. In this regard, showed high recognition algorithms (a maximum of 97.14%, a minimum of 82.86%) use the determining HCC imaging lesions and assist early diagnosis of clinic. If this use to therapy, the diagnostic efficiency of clinical early diagnosis better than before. Later, after add the effective and quantitative analysis, criteria research for generalized of disease recognition is needed to be considered.

This study estimate radiation biological danger factor by measuring patient`s exposed dose and propose the low way of patient`s exposed dose in panoramic radiography. Time Series Analysis of Gamma exposure rates in Gangneung Area

In this work, we investigate the statistical properties of gamma exposure rates using well-known analysis methods, such as Autocorrelation Function Analysis(ACF), Rescaled Range Analysis(R/S Analysis), and Detrended Fluctuation Analysis(DFA). Especially, DFA is an important method to reliably detect long-range correlations in non-stationary time series. Our data are measured by Gangneung regional radiation monitoring station over the period of 1998 to 2011. First, we find a crossover indicating two different governing regimes in fluctuations of gamma exposure rates. Within a year, they show a strong long-ranged memory while this property vanishes over the range of time period longer than one year. Second, our finding is very securely supported by a variety of analysis tools. Those tools yield many relevant exponents which satisfies the well known relation between them.

The radioactive gas radon (

Measurement of Space Dose Distribution during Exposure Micro Computed Tomography (μ-CT) for Scattering Rays

Non-invasive technique CT, called automated computed tomography, is used to detect lesion of a patient when diagnosing human body. Information obtained from CT plays an important role in assembling 3 dimensional images. Recently, new equipment, operated by CT, is required which can be appliable to physical and biological research. In accordance to this quest, micro-CT is invented that produce more detail and concrete information. Images supplied by CT are even more detailed and concrete, so it contributes much to the development of biology and polymer material engineering field. However, there has been little reliable reports regarding measuring information of space dose distribution about exposure dose limit of users operating micro-CT. In addition, little reports regarding space dose distribution of exposure has been known about unwanted diffraction light produced by usage of micro-CT. The exterior of micro-CT is covered by lead, which is for removing exposure of diffraction light. Thus, even if it is good enough to prevent exposure of diffraction light, consistent management of equipment will be required as time goes by and equipment are getting old as well. We measured space dose distribution regarding exposure of diffraction light of users operating micro-CT directly. Therefore, we suggest that proper management should be necessary for users operating micro-CT not to be exposed by unwanted diffraction light.
The energy spectrum and phantom image quality according to mammography target-filter combinations

When the X-ray energy is high, the X-ray penetrates the object and decrease the contrast of imaging, and when the X-ray energy is low, the X-ray increases the contrast of imaging but it is to be absorbed into the object, which in the long run increases patient`s radiation exposure level. Therefore, appropriate X-ray energy is an essential element affecting the imaging quality and radiation exposure level. This study simulated the energy spectrums according to the target materials of mammography, and compared qualities of phantom imaging for the management of radiolographic quality and patient`s radiation exposure level with the introduction of the mammography that employs diversified radiation quality by using new anode materials.
Quantitative evaluation of MRI distortion using orthopedic prosthetic metal

Despite the many advantages of magnetic resonance imaging in orthopedic prosthetic body image distortion to the differences in the magnetic susceptibility occurs. Attached to the phantom and pork produced by the same
stainless steel and titanium specimen examined the relationship between magnetic resonance imaging and phantom images, the signal intensity changes of the subcutaneous tissue, fat-suppressed quantitative assessment of the degree through the length of image distortion and pig bones. Stainless steel to titanium to 2.8 times 4.4 times in the longitudinal direction than in the direction of the height of large image distortion, signal strength is relatively low 58.5%. Normal 56.2% compared to the subcutaneous tissue, fat-suppressed, were stainless steel 16.04%, 54.53% titanium. Experimental results than the diagnostic value of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) images of stainless steel with a titanium metal if better could see.
Research on Image Quality and Effective dose by Exposure Index Variation

Comparing with film-screen system, flat-panel detector has extensive dynamic range. Focusing flat-panel detector, whole body human phantom PBU-50 (Kyoto, kagaku, Japan) was used to perform comparative study of the estimate of image quality and exposure dose. the exposure condition was 81kV and 20mAs, which is used for Abdomen supine exam in clinical area. As a result of the kV change of the interpreted medical image which has over 30dB of PSNR value, the value of DAP shows the difference of 19.6 times. Moreover, the result of comparing kV change with effective dose of ICRP 103 shows that stochastic effect was increased by over exposure. Therefore, it is significantly necessary that digital radiation technical chart will be used to obtain high quality image and make the standard of dose by educating radio-technologist continually.
General Radiography Examination Statistical analysis of Patients in Geriatric hospitals

The purpose of this study is to establish the basic data for the management of the elderly patients aged more than 60 suffering from musculoskeletal disorders in geriatric hospitals. From January, 1 2012 to December 31, 2012, 2,500 patients who were taken the x-ray inspection and were analyzed x-ray order 5,042 cases above spines, upper lower extremities and joints. The elderly age was divided into 3 groups according to Brody elderly statistics. The majority of elderly patients who visited the hospital are exposed to spinal disorders and joint diseases. Shoulder, knee, L-spine examination cases had accounted for more than half the number of total. By age group, the number of the first quarter was most dominant commonly. Second and third quarter was maintaining slightly decrease. The fourth quarter had reduced compared to the first quarter. If the visiting purposes and the disease causes analysis and preventive measures are taken in a study, it is expected to utilize as basic data to make a plan of the education for preventing diseases and elderly behavior planning for geriatric hospitals and to redistribute health care resources of the rural areas efficiently.

The use of the dosimetry have been increasingly recognized as high radiation energy and radiation treatment planning(RTP) have rapidly developed in radiotherapy. There are many types of detectors for the dosimetry such as ionization chamber, film, TLD, diode, and etc. Among such detectors, the diode detector uses a photoconductor materials that generate electrical signals by the incident radiation energy. Though many research groups are recently interested in such materials, there is few experimental results except for silicon in the radiation therapy field. In this study, the feasibility of photoconductor materials was verified as a dosimeter through the evaluation of response properties at a high radiation energy. For the fabricated detectors based on
, reproducibility, linearity, and pulse-rate response were analyzed. Such evaluations are essential factors for the use of dosimeter. From results, linearity and reproducibility of the fabricated
detector indicated about 7% error. The fabricated
detector showed 1.7% error in linearity, and 12.2% error in reproducibility.

Calibration of Optically Stimulated Luminescent nanoDot Dosimeter for 6 MV Photon Beam

The purpose of this study is to investigate the calibration of an optically stimulated luminescent nanoDot dosimeter(OSLnD) to 6 MV photon beam. Dose ranges of the calibration of linear and non-linear from the analysis of dose response of the OSLnD were decided. To evaluate the accuracy of calibration equation and the calibration, the sets of the calibration and quality control dosimeter were used to make. The calibrations were performed by the linear and the non-linear in the dose range of 0~300 cGy and 20~1300 cGy, respectively. The errors of the calibration were acquired less than 0.1% respectively from the measurement of the quality control dosimeters for the calibration of linear and the non-linear. This study provides the calibration equation of the OSLnD to the 6 MV photon beam.
Effects of skin temperature change, cold pain and muscle activity by Cold Air Application type on the induced delayed onset muscle soreness

The purpose of this study was to after induced delayed onset muscle soreness, the purpose of this study is to present the effective way on skin temperature changes and cold pain for 14 subjects during to applied with only Cold-jet stream and Cold-jet stream with infra red. 14 healthy men and women who delayed onset muscle soreness eccentric contractions induced by exercise and then the biceps alone was applied to the Cold-jet stream. We measured the time that skin temperature fall from room temperature to
(first period), the time rewarmed from
(second period), the time fall again to
(third period) and the time rewarmed again to
(fourth period). Cold-jet stream with infrared combination therapy was performed with the same method. Results of this study were 1st and 2nd experimental cooling experiments in the to fall to
Cold-jet stream with infrared combination therapy than in the Cold-jet stream was longer(p<.05). At second period, It took longer in Cold-jet stream with infrared rewarmed than Cold-jet stream to rewarm skin(p<.05). Cold-jet stream with infrared combination therapy than Cold-jet stream had less incidence of cold pain(p<.05). Thickness of biceps brachii were found significant difference related measurment each group was consistent. In this study, Cold-jet stream with infrared combination therapy more effective than Cold-jet stream in reduced cold pain and lowering skin temperature.
