Jeong, Byeong-Jun ; Kim, Dae-Jin ;
The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 12, issue 5, 2012, Pages 1~9
DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2012.12.05.001
The popularity of digital music and smart phones led to develope noise-robust real-time audio fingerprinting system in various ways. In particular, The Multiple Hashing(MLH) of fingerprint algorithms is robust to noise and has an elaborate structure. In this paper, we propose a filter engine based on MLH to achieve better performance. In this approach, we compose a energy-intensive filter to improve the accuracy of Q/R from music database and a statistic filter to remove continuity and redundancy. The energy-intensive filter uses the Discrite Cosine Transform(DCT)'s feature gathering energy to low-order bits and the statistic filters use the correlation between searched fingerprint's information. Experimental results show that the superiority of proposed algorithm consists of the energy and statistical filtering in noise environment. It is found that the proposed filter engine achieves more robust to noise than Philips Robust Hash(PRH), and a more compact way than MLH.

Choi, Hong-Jun ; Kim, Cheol-Hong ;
The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 12, issue 5, 2012, Pages 10~21
DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2012.12.05.010
The role of GPU has evolved from graphics-specific processing to general-purpose processing with the development of unified shader core architecture. Especially, execution methods for general-purpose parallel applications using GPU have been researched intensively, since the parallel hardware architecture can be utilized efficiently when the parallel applications are executed. However, current GPU architecture has limitations in executing general-purpose parallel applications, since the GPU is not specialized for general-purpose computing yet. To improve the GPU performance when general-purpose parallel applications are executed, the GPU architecture should be evolved. In this work, we analyze the GPU performance according to the architecture varying the number of cores and clock frequency. Our simulation results show that the GPU performance improves by up to 125.8% and 16.2% as the number of cores increases and the clock frequency increases, respectively. However, note that the improvement of the GPU performance is saturated even though the number of cores increases and the clock frequency increases continuously, since the data cannot be provided to the GPU due to the limit of memory bandwidth. Consequently, to accomplish high performance effectiveness on GPU, computational resources must be more suitably considered.

A Smartphone is an intelligent device combined mobile phone and pc's support functions, and can perform multiple functions to satisfy the demands of users. It has excellent processing power and communication modules(DMB, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC etc) to carry out the demands of users. But continuous using of battery power on processor and equipped modules causes acceleration of battery consumption. This means that effective power management in devices like smartphone is important. Therefore, the management of power consumption on system execution and communication module is a serious issue in this field of study. In this paper, we would like to propose a communication module selection algorithm based on energy consumption parameter of each communication module and data transfer time. Our scheme automatically select appropriate communication system to reduce high energy consumption on bluetooth sleep mode so that this scheme is more efficient and effective thus improving user convenience in longer usage time. Experimental results showed the 20% energy saving.

When you want to be given the on-line service, their homepage requires sign-up with detail personal information. This collected private information lead to mass data spill by hacking. Especially, this makes terrible social problems that the users who sign up their site are persistingly attacked and damaged by hackers using this information. As methods of the social technologic attacks are simple but based upon human psychology, it is easy that people become a victim in the majority of cases. There is a strategy blocking fishing sites by using the black list for defending these attacks. This tactic, however, has some problems that it isn't possible to handle new fishing sites having a short life-cycle. In this paper, we suggest two solutions to minimize data spill. One marks existing sites with the sign of a reliability measured by a comparison between black list and the white list; therefore, the user check the authenticity about the homepage. The other shut off previously the leaking of private information by sensing a entry of personal information into new sites.

The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 12, issue 5, 2012, Pages 103~112
DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2012.12.05.103
This paper is based on the perspective that the YTN Science, a science channel in Korea which plays a key role in the popularization of science, is suffering from low viewing ratings, insufficient content, and shortage of production. First, this study employs an exploratory method to identify current status of programming and operation of the Korean science channel along with its promotional strategy. Second, it aims to conduct an analysis on the science channels, specifically some major programs, of other nations including the U.S. (Discovery Channel, National Geographic Channel), United Kingdom (BBC Knowledge), Japan (Science Channel), and China (CCTV 10), seeking the possibility to apply and combine them afterward to the Korean TV channels specialized in science. A number of implications are derived from our diagnosis of present situation and analysis of abroad cases, and this helps us suggest the content development and promotional strategies as follows: First, due to the rising need for change in the programming strategy to enhance the value of the content, it is required to rearrange the programming in terms of the target audience and the viewer lifestyle, adopt a new strategy for building up the viewers' watching habit through 'stripping', and place strategic programs in prime-time. Second, as for the specific schemes of content production and application, it is recommended to establish a dual strategy in creating the content (one for conveying knowledge, the other for delivering fun), plan and use a representative character of the program, select scientific and technological topics with more Korean backgrounds, attempt strategic ties with SNS, deepen and diversify the material for programs, and implement a strategy to boost the OSMU. Finally, with regard to the promotional strategy, a constructive proposal may include raising channel awareness through science-related events and live broadcasting, performing promotional strategies by way of expanding to printed media like magazine and book publications, and intensifying online and mobile promotional strategy.

Rhie, Jinny ;
The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 12, issue 5, 2012, Pages 154~162
DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2012.12.05.154
We can expect an effective color marketing to build up a positive industrial image as it is easy for consumer to approach due to the ability of colors to affect human consciousness and sub-consciousness more than any other factor. The purpose of this research is to draw attention to the importance of color communication and to find strategies to elevate the brand image by surveying the degree of influence color communication has when forming a brand image. In order to conduct effective research, we executed theoretical and collaborative analysis through research materials and documents. If you take a look at the outcome of this research, brands that brings credibility and likability to its customers are not brands that uses color communication, but brands that utilize marketing strategies that build up credibility for quite some time. Also, preference over colors are distinctive. It turned out to be that the color of a brand logo that one likes has very little to do with one's favorite color. When people choose a brand, they are choosing the brand not because of the color of the brand logo, but its credibility and likability that the brand offers. It proves that the color of the brand logo has nothing to do with the colors that people prefer. The relationship between the color that consumers prefer and the image and emotional color that forms brand image is negligible. However, since research shows that there was a relationship between the color you prefer and the emotional color that forms brand images, it seems to be important to figure out what color customers prefer rather than the color that shows customers' self image. Unlike existing color communication research, through this research, we would like to know how to utilize the color communication strategically in the forming of brand images and take a look at the relationship between customers' preferences and the image of each brand logo's emotional color.

An, Kyong-Sok ; Gu, Seung-Hwan ; Yoo, Jun-Ho ;
The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 12, issue 5, 2012, Pages 163~174
DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2012.12.05.163
This study was conducted to seek improvements by correcting problems of the qualification system of theatrical art technicians, which has a relatively weak foundation, compared to other national industrial qualifications. Through the previous researches, this study attempted to seek main issues and development plans in the field of theatrical art technology, while carrying out in-depth interviews for theatrical art technicians. With the results of this study, problems of the existing system can be largely divided into two kinds. Firstly, the existing system is mostly focused on performance places, especially large-sized public performance halls. Secondly, as a problem in terms of management, the existing system has non-professional management subjects and non-convenience regarding the number of qualification tests and places only in Seoul and once a year. This study grasped problems based on practical demands of the related industry through in-depth interviews with experts, thus seeking proper solutions. What matters most is that the present system should be converted from performance place-centered management to performance-centered management. In other words, by expanding qualification-acquired experts into all the performances, the system should practically contribute to improving the quality of performances and expanding the treatment of experts, which is the fundamental purpose of this system. Moreover, it is needed to seek a plan to expand the convenience of applicants for the procedures and methods of acquiring qualifications.

Ko, Kyung-Hee ;
The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 12, issue 5, 2012, Pages 175~187
DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2012.12.05.175
The purpose of this study is to investigate the mechanism on how the aesthetic consciousness of "Mat" and "Meot" of Korean dance is realized with the analysis of aesthetic meaning and value found in the aesthetic experience of Korean dance, and also the aesthetic concept and consciousness of Korean Studies. First, "the aesthetic consciousness of endless life theory" is from the curved motion, which is one of the basic principle of Korean dance, and is to be sublimated to the aesthetic consciousness of "Mat" and "Meot". The life theory of the Korean dance is to be cleary realized by the curved movement aiming the Circle, which is the important principle of movement for feeling aesthetic consciousness of "Mat" and "Meot". But, the Korean dance movement has been affected to follow the Straight motion frequently in recent days rather than the Curved motion due to the influence of the Western style movement. This makes difficult to find aesthetical sense of "Mat" and "Meot". So, it is very crucial to keep and improve the Curved motion in the Korean dance for protecting and developing aesthetic consciousness of "Mat" and "Meot", the unique feature of the Korean dance. And the continuos effort and plan of Korean dancer is also needed to make the Mind and the Body coexist each other. Furthermore, the research on this aesthetic consciousness of "Mat" and "Meot" of the Korean dance should be kept going.

The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 12, issue 5, 2012, Pages 188~198
DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2012.12.05.188
Church is one of organizations recognized not as corporation but as private association and therefore its identity and possession of properties must be confirmed by the general theories of the civil law in relation not to corporation but to private association. Different from corporation, the internal relations of private association is primarily regulated by the articles of association. When there is no article of association, ordinary resolution and provisions for incorporated association in the civil law are applied by inference. As for the debt of private association, all the members own it in a quasi-joint manner (article 275 and 278). For the last 50 years, the judicial precedents of the Supreme Court has permitted the partition of church for the Protestant church and ruled that the relationship of properties at the time of partition is the joint ownership by church members at the time of partition. This ruling is different from that of corporation and ordinary principles of law. However, a new judicial precedent (the Supreme Court, 2006. 4. 20, 2004다37775) prescribes that different from corporation, the partition of private association is not allowed. Thus, in order to settle the dispute of private association, the Supreme Court changes its traditional standpoint of allowing partition into denying it. This ruling seems to reflect the necessity of settling dispute above all.

In radiotherapy, accurate patient positioning and set up are important factor that treatment can influence success. In generally, the 3-laser system is used when the patient set up. But today the body surface scanning system(C-Rad system) is trying to use. Compare and evaluate the C-Rad system and the 3-laser system to check availability. Head and neck that are no movement of internal organs and easy to apply fixation device are limited. Alderson Rando anthropomorphic phantom and 10 patients who have lesions of head and neck are targeted. C-RAD system's setup error mean and standard deviation are the X axis(
), Y axis(
), Z axis(
) in the phantom study, and in the patient study X axis(
), Y axis(
) Z axis(
). So C-RAD system is better than 3-laser system mostly, but C-RAD system's error rate is a little worse than 3-laser system in the Z axis. When radiation treatment of head and neck, body surface contour scanning system contribute to correct positioning and minimize the set up error.

Restoration materials used to investigate effects of fluorine such as enamel strengthening and anti-caries effects in several types of dental restoration materials were five kinds including Ionoseal(VOCO GmbH, Cuxhaven, Germany), Fuji Filling LC(GC Co. Tokyo, Japan), Quadrant Universal LC(CAVEX Holland BV, Netherlands), PermaCem
(DMG, Hamburg, Germany) and Dyract
AP(Dentsply GmbH, Germany), and the amount of fluorine-releasing was measured with ICS-5000 Reagent-FreeTM Ion Chromatography(RFICTM, Dionex, U.S.A.). The results of this study are as follows. 1. In all types of restoration materials, the amount of fluoride-releasing was reduced with time passage and it was declined sharply to show significance in four weeks. Fuji Filling LC(12.445PPM) or resin-reinforced glass ionomer and PermaCem
(16.121PPM) or compomer were found to release fluorine for a long term(P<.001). 2. Ionoseal(0.887PPM) or glass ionomer and Quadrant Universal LC(0.957PPM) or composite resin released a few fluorine of 1PPM or less than 1PPM after one week, and Dyract
AP or compomer released fluorine of 8.631PPM in one week and its amount of releasing decreased dramatically in two and four week by recording 0.175PPM and 0.116PPM, respectively. Therefore, the effect of releasing fluorine in four weeks was observed to be poor (P<.001). 3. Fuji Filling LC or resin-reinforced glass ionomer and PermaCem
or compomer released fluorine of 33.372 and 1.902PPM, respectively in one week and their amount of releasing increased to be 36.371 and 18.223PPM, respectively in two weeks. So, their amount of fluorine-releasing recorded the highest levels in two weeks(P<.001).

The purpose of this study was to examine the occurrence level of harmful chemical substance and the riskiness caused by it at university laboratory, which had been faintly interested in safe health management. It measured and analyzed indoor pollutants by academic department targeting K university where is located in Seoul Metropolis for 6 days starting from May 26, 2010. As a result, the appearance of being furnished with MSDS, the appearance of installing the exposure-reduction facilities, and the present status of supplying protective equipment in order to grasp the present status of managing harmful chemical substance at university laboratory were relatively good in management at the Dept. of Chemistry, the Dept. of Physics, and the Dept. of Medical Science, which are basic science laboratories. The activity for managing harmful chemical substance in the Dept. of Dental Medicine and the Dept. of Fine Arts was surveyed to be insufficient. Also, the concentration of formaldehyde and TVOCs(total volatile organic compounds) inside laboratory was detected noticeably highly in the Dept. of Fine Arts compared to other laboratories. The concentration of formaldehyde in a group, which was collectivized by similar academic department, was indicated to be higher in other academic departments including the Dept. of Fine Arts and the Dept. of Life Science, thereby having shown significant difference. The concentration of formaldehyde and TVOCs showed significant difference at the laboratory without installation compared to the laboratory with installation of fume hood. Seeing the above results, it could be known that a whole drop in recognition on influence of chemical upon health leads to being able to increase occurrence level of hazardous factor due to being insufficient in activity of protecting exposure to chemical substance.

The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 12, issue 5, 2012, Pages 496~504
DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2012.12.05.496
The purpose of this study is to guide efficient ways to teach cultural aspects in Korean elementary English education through analyzing many studies on elementary English culture education. In global era, English education must be performed based on understanding of other various cultures for authentic communication. However, Korean elementary students have difficulty to approach or to be exposed to the culture of English speaking countries. Elementary English culture education is neither well organized nor performed for some reasons. The reasons are as follows. Frist, English teachers are not confident with the culture and they consider themselves not having enough experiences and knowledge to teach. They were not taught cultural aspects and the cultural aspects were not emphasized. Second, there are not appropriate culture related teaching materials in the textbooks and teachers' guide books. Therefore, necessary cultural aspects should be selected by English education experts and provided in the textbooks and teachers' guide books. Those two books should be systematically connected. Elementary English teachers should have more opportunities to understand and experience other various cultures. Language is a part of culture and culture is a part of language. Acquiring the second language is acquiring its culture. The culture education for authentic communication is accomplished from managing cultural aspects in textbooks and cultivating English teachers with experience and understanding of target culture.

The purpose of the study was to investigate the effects of On-Line Community Assisted Team Learning (OCATL) activities on academic achievement and team member's Shared Mental Model(SMM) subscale scores. Two studies were conducted over two semesters in different universities. The first study was aimed at examining the effects of OCATL on university students' academic achievement using pre- and post- experimental design. For this experiment, 133 university students composed of 80 male and 53 female students from 13 colleges participated. The OCATL activities included the orientation of OCATL, seminar on collaborative learning, on-line community assisted team learning with sixteen hour participation during one semester and a final report (or a term paper). To measure these students' academic achievement, their pre- and post-semester's GPA were compared. The results of paired t-test revealed a significant difference in academic achievement (p<.05). The second study was designed to compare the scores of SMM subscales of the experimental group with the OCATL activities and those of the control group without using OCATL activities. The data was collected using the scale of Shared Mental Model(SMM)-short version developed by Johnson in 2011. For this study, 74 participants from 10 teams served as an experimental group and 15 teams which were not exposed to OCATL activities served as a control group. The MANOVA results showed that SMM subscores of two groups measured after the experiment were statistically significantly different: The experimental group with the OCATL activities showed high scores on general task and team knowledge, general task and communication skills, attitudes toward team and task, team dynamics and interactions, team resources and working environment, and satisfaction with the team.
