According that most integral imaging techniques have used rectangular lens array, this integrated distribution of light is recorded in the form of a rectangular grid. However, hexagonal lens array gives a more accurate approximation of ideal circular lens and provides higher pickup/display density than rectangular lens array. Using the parallel processing technique in order to generate the elemental imaging for hexagonal lens array, each pixel that compose the elemental imaging should be determined to belong to the hexagonal lens. This process is output to the screen for every pixel in progress, and many computations are required. In this paper, we have proposed parallel processing method using an OpenCL to generate the elemental imaging for hexagonal lens array in 3D volume date. In the experimental result of proposed method show speed of 20~60 fps for hexagonal lens array of
sizes and input data of Male[

In computer vision, it is very important to obtain reliable corresponding feature points. However, we know it is not easy to find the corresponding feature points exactly considering by scaling, lighting, viewpoints, etc. Lots of SIFT methods applies the invariant to image scale and rotation and change in illumination, which is due to the feature vector extracted from corners or edges of object. However, SIFT could not find feature points, if edges do not exist in the area when we extract feature points along edges. In this paper, we present a new placement method of marker to improve the performance of SIFT feature detection and matching between different view of an object or scene. The shape of the markers used in the proposed method is formed in a semicircle to detect dominant direction vector by SIFT algorithm depending on direction placement of marker. We applied De Bruijn sequence for the markers direction placement to improve the matching performance. The experimental results show that the proposed method is more accurate and effective comparing to the current method.

DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2012.12.06.021
The virtual reality consists of a virtual space constructed similar to the reality and agents residing in it. Our virtual space refers to an orderly space that is governed by such physical properties as mass, gravity, friction, and associated rules on top of the usual visual rendering. To construct this virtual world we are to develop virtual agents behaving like humans and the environment surrounding them. In order to improve the existing reactive agents designed to act to their designers' dictation in predetermined space or memory into autonomous agents, we need diverse kinds of knowledge among others related to the spaces for the agents to act in. Our design and implementation focuses on the spatial knowledge among those diverse aspects of knowledge required. The developed knowledge representation scheme is used on a basis for realistic and efficient physical cyber-environment, and as the knowledge structure to simulate the virtual agents' knowledges on spaces.

The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 12, issue 6, 2012, Pages 32~40
DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2012.12.06.032
This study is a case analysis for user interface(UI) design of spectrophotometer which is widely used in the field of chemistry, biology and environment, based on user experience(UX). Generally, experimental equipment developments are centered on functionality and technology, and the interface for interaction between the user and the machine is developed only by the engineers who do not have much consideration for the users. From this background, this study tried to find out how UX could melt into UI so that a kind of spectrophotometers can be designed to help the work process of researchers in the real context by examining and analyzing the real users' experiences and also considering the developer's perspective. As a result, it was possible to improve UI and was found that redefinition of the goal of UI, time-efficiency, security, and sufficient information delivery are essential to the design of user interface for spectrophotometers.

DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2012.12.06.041
Various Korean word sense disambiguation methods have been proposed using small scale of sense-tagged corpra and dictionary definitions to calculate entropy information, conditional probability, mutual information and etc. for each method. This paper proposes a method using Korean Word Space model which builds word vectors from a large scale of sense-tagged corpus and disambiguates word senses with the similarity calculation between the word vectors. Experiment with Sejong morph sense-tagged corpus showed 94% precision for 200 sentences(583 word types), which is much superior to the other known methods.

The number of digital content used in mobile devices such as smartphones or tablet PCs has been rapidly increasing along with the development of IT industry. At the same time, studies on digital content management are actively conducted. One of the previous studies defined CTI(Content Tracking Information) for efficient management of the information on digital content usage between mobile devices in an area in which the internet is inaccessible, and suggested ways to deal with CTI management, reduction of the overhead and a technique of collecting as many CTIs as possible within a short time. This paper presents the design and implementation of a simulator capable of verifying the logic and the performance of the CTI management method. This tool simulates a mobile environment where devices move around in the internet inaccessible area and propagates digital contents each other. It shows several advantages including the efficient synchronization of CTI management and overhead reduction.

The User Created Contents (UCC) are traded actively on the on-line market. The current pricing policy on the UCC market is the fixed pricing, which is set by the seller once and price never changes again. However market demand and supply are changing hourly, so the studies about dynamic pricing to determine more properly have been carried out. This paper suggests dynamic pricing models for UCC by analyzing the customer's searching pattern. We propose 2 pricing models (trend change-based pricing model and relative pricing model), and experiment various status by controlling system and market variables. We demonstrated our model by computational modeling and simulation. The result of this research can be useful guidelines to increase the revenue and profit of the UCC Market.

As the system development environment moves from single core to multi core-based platforms, it becomes more important to maintain compatibility between single core-based implementations and multi core-based implementations. Moreover, it is very important to support real-time on multi core platforms especially in cases of embedded software or test equipments which need real-time as well as correctness. Since Windows operating system dopes not support real-time in itself, it has been supporting real-time using expensive third-party solutions such as RTX or INtime. So as to reduce this kind of development expenses, in this paper, we propose RTiK-MP(Real-Time implant Kernel-Multi Processor) which supports real-time on Windows using the Local APIC of x86 architectures, and evaluate the performance of the proposed RTiK-MP after deploying it on portable missile test equipments.

The Terrestrial DTV service compliant with ATSC has been advancing for years. In KBA(Korean Broadcasters Association), a multi-channel service was broadcasted on air during the period of the 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany with the various type of MMS(Multi Mode Service) using MPEG-2 encoding method. MMS Service can provides not only one HD channel but also serveral additional services within 6MHz bandwidth. Using digital video compression technology(MPEG-2), many various programs such as HDTV, SDTV, Audio and Data are able to be transmitted within the same bandwidth. From November 2009, KBS has been preparing an advanced MMS service, 'Korea-View' which has both methods of encoding, MPEG-2 and H.264 that is compliant ATSC mobile standard, A/153. Korea-View is a kind of multi-channel broadcast service to provide one HD and 3 SD programs with the bandwidth of 6MHz. Terrestrial multi-channel service is required to focuse on expanding viewer service. Such Terrestrial multi-channel services will contribute to transferring to digital broadcasting and to extending the viewers' welfare. Due to advances in digital technology, Pay-TV channels has increased to hundreds. Even though digital switchover is being proceeded, terrestrial broadcasters have been unable to deliver multi-channel services. In this paper, technical features and differences of MMS and Koreaview will be analyzed regarding terrestrial multi-channel broadcasting services, and the politic direction will be proposed in accordance with introduction of future service.

The development of technology in traditional media is affecting a variety of ways. In particular, the influence of digital images, the animation turned to a realistic 3D animation. With the release of realistic 3D animation
, Robert Zemeckis received much attention but the audience did not like the animation of this style gradually. Robert Zemeckis gave up 3D animation after
that drew attention for having a huge production budget while failing at a record-setting proportion in the American box-office. A digital actor in realistic 3D animation looks like real but the audience know that it is not real and they know that realistic 3D animations and live-action movies are different. So the audience will experience an emotional conflict like confusion, hesitation. The visual completion in realistic 3D animation is due to the development of technology and technology must develop to connect the audience acceptance and movie.

DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2012.12.06.151
The purpose of this thesis is to figure out the mechanism that how can be shown the aesthetic distances of novel in the film. At discussion of the view point, novel can be told by two factors which are 'who is teller' and 'who is watcher' but in the film, novel's narration is divided into visual point and auditive point. And I will consider the phenomenon on the part of this difference. Next, I will argue about difference between novel and film from the Park Jongwon's aesthetic distances which interpreted Lee Munyeol's work. This thesis is going to observe that how the film adapted three types of view point and how that related the subject of the original novel. For this thesis, I tried to track 'the distances' between figure and identity, and reader and author. Also I did approach that how can be accepted the problem of 'aesthetic distance according to identity' based on this novel in the film and novel's text by reader. This study make a proposal or analysis to the differences between novels and films in terms of narrative point of view. Although it is shown by dividing into each chapter in novel and on connectivity in film, this paper finds out that both film and novel are shown the subject of reader's difference of the view point about 'author and director's identity'.

The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 12, issue 6, 2012, Pages 211~222
DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2012.12.06.211
There has been growing academic interest in revealing the effect of 3D stereoscopic displays, mostly based on the assumption that 3D would enhance the media user's psychological experiences. A 2(Display: 2D, 3D) x 2(Arousal: High, Low) x2(Valence: Positive, Negative) within-between subject experimental design, including both psychophysiological and self-report measurements, was employed to investigate if valence and arousal of the media content interact with the 3D stereo display. The results confirmed that 3D stereo significantly enhances the viewer's skin conductance level, while no meaningful difference for HR was found across the experimental conditions. The viewer's recall memory did not differ depending on the display type either. However, the viewer experienced a greater level of presence and liking of the content when the negative content was displayed in 3D stereo in comparison with the positive content. The practical implications of the results are further discussed.

Offender profiling, as a crime investigation technique, aims to respond more effectively to violent crimes. However, attitude that police investigators hold toward offender profiling is quite skeptical, which prevents offender profiling from making effective and practical contributions to police investigations. Therefore, the present study explored development strategies of offender profiling by examining perceptions of offender profiling among 156 Korean National Police University students. Furthermore, a total of 166 students from other universities also participated as a control group. As a result, participants showed positive attitude toward offender profiling, in terms of its necessity, effectiveness, and reliability. However, they believed that Korean police agencies are not making the good use of offender profiling and that profilers are not necessarily taking the lead in solving cases. In terms of the profiler education, the majority of the students who showed interest in becoming a profiler did not know what to learn and how to prepare for becoming one. Finally, limitations of the present study were discussed and suggestions for further research were made.

DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2012.12.06.497
This study aims to verify how the characteristics of organizational supporting unit affect the effectiveness of company-wide HRD Education & Training program. To achieve this objective, we performed an empirical analysis, with the characteristics of organizational supporting unit comprising supervisor's support, job support, and company support as independent variables, and with the level of reaction stage, learning stage, transfer stage, and result stage as dependent variables. Empirical data was collected during the period from August 16, 2011 to September 9, 2011 by sending out questionnaires to employees of 5 securities firms listed on KOSDAQ where online and offline education & training program is running year-round with headquarter in Seoul. A total of 340 questionnaires were sent out three times for the survey, and total of 164 questionnaires were sampled for the final analysis. According to the outcome of the analysis, regarding the first hypothesis that tries to reveal how the characteristics affect the level of reaction stage, it is verified that all of supervisor's support, job support and company support have positive impact on the level of reaction stage with p value less than 0.01. In regard to the second hypothesis that tries to see how the characteristics affect the level of learning stage, it is confirmed that supervisor's support, job support and company support have significant impact on the level of learning stage with p value less than 0.05 or 0.01, respectively. Concerning the third hypothesis that aims to investigate how the characteristics affect the level of transfer stage, it is appeared that all of supervisor's support, job support and company support have positive impact on the level of transfer stage. And lastly, as for the fourth hypothesis that tries to see how the characteristics affect the level of result stage, it is analyzed that supervisor's support, job support and company support have positive impact on the level of result stage with p value less than 0.01. This study reconfirm the outcomes of previous research, which is that the effectiveness of company-wide education & training program depends not only on the contents and quality of education & training program, but also more importantly on the role of organizational supporting unit, and the working environment where what is learned in classroom can be applied to real business. Companies or experts that run education & training program in real world should recognize that the performance of training is dependent more significantly on the characteristics of organizational supporting unit rather than the design or features of education & training program.

DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2012.12.06.508
Admissions officer system was introduced in an effort to reject the score-oriented competition and select students on the basis of their individual potential and capacity. The admissions officer system, which was first introduced into the college entrance examination for the 2008 school year in Korea, has been operated by expanding the recruiting level up to 11.8% of the number of the students to be admitted by all colleges. The aim of this study is to analyze the performance of the admissions officer system by analyzing the true picture of school life led by the students singled out through admissions officer screening, and further to inquire into the substantial plan to support the students, who were selected through the admissions officer system, for their successful college life while displaying their potential and capacity As a result of doing research on this, it was found that the freshmen selected through admissions officer screening showed more positive responses in all measurement variables this study selected, such as school adaptability, school satisfaction, and career maturity, learning attitude than other students screened in a different way; in addition, school adaptability and school satisfaction came out as significantly high variables statistically. However, they showed insufficiency in the attitude in class from the behavioral aspect in learning attitude. This study made a suggestion that it's necessary for systematic support and management program to be mapped out and provided in order for the students selected through admissions officer screening to improve their learning attitude as they inspire themselves with school adaptability and school satisfaction.

Integration of Europe was started when European Union Treaty was concluded at Maastricht for the first time on December, 1991. Europe which may be called as a cradle of modern national state has realized a single Europe not only in the socio-economic integration field but also in the political field. Under this background, it is considered that life-long education policy for developing a new integrated growth engine of EU requires educational response that may get ready for socio-economic environmental transformation more than anything else. In particular, this policy is faced with an important task of having to achieve harmony of efficiency through diversity and mutual coordination in pursuing cooperation and integrated development of life-long education field. However, notwithstanding their efforts, since 2008, some countries of EU were faced with economic crisis due to economic recession and this situation starts to drive the whole Europe even to the point of their financial crisis at last. This crisis is currently shaking socio-economic integration of EU. This study intends to observe a status of establishing life-long education system and promoting a policy for socio-economic integration of EU and to analyze as to what kind of relevance adult participation rate of life-long learning among the countries belonged to EU has with per capita income and to explore as whether socio-economic integration among member countries could be sustained based on problems of integrative life-long education system under the economic crisis of EU. In addition, through this study, an implication required for presenting a new paradigm conversion, policy establishment and development direction for the life-long education of our country is intended to be deduced.
