Recently, as SNS services have been increased, studies on recommendation schemes have been actively done. Recommendation scheme provides various favorable or needed services with users on real time. Group recommendation provides users with suitable groups based on their preference. In this paper, we propose a new group recommendation scheme considering user profiles and collaborative filtering in social networks. The proposed scheme can solve the problems of the static profile based group recommendation scheme because it collects the recent group activities and updates user profiles. It also recommends the more various groups by reflecting the similar tendencies of other users within a group through collaborative filtering. Our experimental results show that the proposed scheme recommends various groups that significantly considers the user's changing preferences compared to the existing scheme.

In recently years, with the growth of social media and the development of mobile devices, the data have been significantly increased. Hadoop has been widely utilized as a typical distributed storage and processing framework. The tasks in Mapreduce based on the Hadoop distributed file system are allocated to the map as close as possible by considering the data locality. However, there are data being requested frequently according to the data analysis tasks of Mapreduce. In this paper, we propose a hot-data replication mechanism to improve the processing speed of Mapreduce according to data access patterns. The proposed scheme reduces the task processing time and improves the data locality using the replica optimization algorithm on the high access frequency of hot data. It is shown through performance evaluation that the proposed scheme outperforms the existing scheme in terms of the load of access frequency.

The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 13, issue 11, 2013, Pages 28~36
DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2013.13.11.028
This study proposed a robust detection algorithm. It detects hands more stably with respect to changes in light and rotation for the identification of a hand shape. Also it satisfies both efficiency of calculation and the function of detection. The algorithm proposed segmented the hand area through pre-processing using a hand shape as input information in an environment with a single camera and then identified the shape using a Self Organized Feature Map(SOFM). However, as it is not easy to exactly recognize a hand area which is sensitive to light, it has a large degree of freedom, and there is a large error bound, to enhance the identification rate, rotation information on the hand shape was made into a database and then a principal component analysis was conducted. Also, as there were fewer calculations due to the fewer dimensions, the time for real-time identification could be decreased.

DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2013.13.11.037
Recently, lots of research results on program comparison have been reported since the code theft become frequent as the increase of code mobility. This paper proposes a plagiarism detection method using class structures. The proposed method constructs a graph representing the referential relationship between the member variables and the methods. This relationship is shown as a bipartite graph and the test for graph isomorphism is applied on the set of graphs to measure the similarity of the programs. In order to measure the effectiveness of this method, an experiment was conducted on the test set, the set of Java source codes submitted as solutions for the programming assignments in Object-Oriented Programming course of Pusan National University in 2012. In order to evaluate the accuracy of the proposed method, the F-measure is compared to those of JPlag and Stigmata. According to the experimental result, the F-measure of the proposed method is higher than those of JPlag and Stigmata by 0.17 and 0.34, respectively.

DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2013.13.11.048
The stock market is constantly changing and sometimes a slump or a sudden rising in stocks happens without any special reason. So the stock market is recognized as a complex system and it is hard to predict the change on stock prices. In this paper we consider the stock market to a network consisting of stocks. We analyzed the dynamics of the Korean stock market network and evaluated the changing of the correlation between shares consisting of the time series data of 137 companies belong to KOSPI200. Our analysis shows that the stock prices tend to plummet when the correlation between stocks is very high. We propose a method for recommending the stock portfolio based on the analysis of the stock market network. To show the effectiveness of the recommended portfolio, we conducted the simulated stock investment and compared the recommended portfolio with the efficient portfolio proposed Markowitz. According to the experiment results, the rate of return of the portfolio is about 10.6% which is about 3.7% and 5.6% higher than the average rate of return of the efficient portfolio and KOSPI200 respectively.

iPod Touch provided so various application software beyond the early music playback function, and enhanced its UI to the level of UX. Because of these, it was evaluated as innovative. In addition, even though various images were provided through the Internet, some people still classify MP3P as audio device in its product category. As for how audio device became video or image device and which factor contributed to such happening, there may be various factors, such as social, cultural, and technical change, other than fundamental change of medium itself. This study is regarding medium characteristics of MP3Player. In other words, this study classified genealogical changes, which can be categorized into 4 points. This study also analyzed the property of each point according to this classification. The result of analysis showed that there is a relation with technological as well as social context in such genealogical change in MP3player. Even though there are various elements in the change of a device, it can be suggested that the factors of genealogical change in MP3player are influenced by a totality of social needs and contexts and technical changes.

A Korean MP3player also has become complex multimedia device which can provide various functions such as DMB, image playback, radio, electronic dictionary, storage device, and Internet. However, these functions are not provided through one-time mediation. Therefore, studying which changes were made for obtaining or installing these functions and what made such changes possible will be a basis to approach the change factors of medium through medium. Ultimately, by enabling to access the factors of cultural and social changes through MP3player, the main point of this study, it will be a methodological attempt to study a social aspect through medium. This study approached re-mediation according to the genealogical change of MP3player. This study researched the change of media through mediation of MP3player, and approached the change in social contextuality through this. The factors for which a medium is changed are various, but in the change of MP3 player there is re-mediation of each medium in addition to technical change. That is, it is deemed that there are 're-mediation among devices' and 'socially contextual re-mediation' in the change through re-mediation of MP3player.

DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2013.13.11.079
In general, food depicted in animated films symbolically conveys cultural emotions. And yet, as diverse studies have shown, even from the perspective of cultural semiotics, there are different ways to interpret food symbolism. This study focuses on food depicted in American and Japanese animation, through a comparative analysis of scenes from "The Simpsons" (1989-present), the longest-running American animated program, and "Atashin'chi" (2002-2009), a much-beloved animated sitcom that follows the daily experiences of a Japanese family. It is hoped that the research presented here may be applied as a criterion in the production stage for understanding the cognitive function of cultural underpinnings and symbolic expression in animated works.
Classical Hollywood Cinema with Music Theatre Features - in Reference to "Gone with the Wind" -
Oh, Sujin ;
The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 13, issue 11, 2013, Pages 87~95
DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2013.13.11.087
"Gone with the wind"(1939, Directed by Victor Fleming) was produced in the stylistic conventions of the classical hollywood cinema, and thus the musical employment also followed the norms of the style, such as late Romantic musical style, serving the narrative, signifier of emotion, and giving continuity and unity. But, at the same time, the statement of the classical theory that the music hides and tailors itself to support the drama - invisibility, inaudibility, narrative cuing and so on - does not seem to explain the musical employment of "Gone with the wind." On the contrary, it hires music to put itself forward, and often times it stops the narrative to show musical spectacles for which the image is tailored to fit the music. These are more of music theatre or music drama features rather than the conventional underscore of the films in that period. In this study analysed the musical employment of "Gone with the wind" to see how it took full advantage of music to lead the narrative in a more active way and to make musical spectacles, by borrowing the technique and style of music theatre, such as, overture and entr'acte, similarities with film musicals, Wagnerism influence, and the use of songs.

I discussed how the Zen training could be used to previous acting training methods focused on the way draw efficiently subconsciousness in the process of the training of actors. It is believed that the practice of the Zen would contribute to the development of training subconsciousness of actors. I examined the validities of the Zen practices which could be helpful to young students and existing actors' training processes and started from the existing proven analyses of mental and psychological effects of it. It is certain that the practices of Zen is a new continent which has infinite possibilities of analyzing and studying in terms of thinking highly of the Zen and brain science together. If we would utilize the Zen efficiently in the course of training actors, we could achieve four elements: the first, a trigger to operate actors' subconsciousness, the second, establishing the presence of actors through the reinforcement of concentration, the third, overcoming any mental and psychological obstacles, and the fourth, the establishment of transformation skills through the combined use of left and right brains. Additionally, actors could have mental and psychological stability through the Zen practice in their daily lives. I believe that we could also find a unique Eastern actor training way through vigorous and practical following analyses and practices which are based on the Zen tradition for training actors' subconsciousness and unconsciousness.

This study aims to explore how journalistic norms are practiced in journalists tweets by analyzing journalists' twitter. The study found that journalists consider using twitter as an extension of journalistic practice rather than a private space. In other words, journalists use twitter without a clear distinction about the nature of the twitter. In terms of journalistic norms, journalists expressed actively their opinion rather than keeping the traditional notion of objectivity. There are not much tendency of sharing the gatekeeping role. Also, journalistic use of twitter does not increase transparency as much as expected. However, there is a positive sign of practicing the newly expected journalistic role, conversation with news users. Finally the relationships between journalistic use of twitter and journalistic norms are not straightforward but diverse depending on the size and type of press, and gender of journalists.

DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2013.13.11.297
This thesis is a result of a study of the treatment course of post traumatic stress disorder because of the historical incident which is described in the novel, Uncle Suni by Hyun Ki-young. Uncle Suni survived the massacre which happened during the 4.3 Incident in Jeju Island. However, living a buried life, she suffers a historical trauma. To cure her disorder, she had to know the cause of her illness, such as auditory hallucination, mysophobia, etc. The author describes that kinds of patients should be ensured to get help not only in duty of the society but of the country and that historical justice should stand right. Uncle Suni reexperienced the incident when she happened to discover 'the white bones' and 'the lead bullets' while she was working in her 'Ohmpang field'. To cure her illness, she needed to confess her guilt that she had escaped from the massacre, and deep appreciation about the incident, which means she had to testify, and in the course of the testimony, she had to confess her inner feelings. To solve the historical trauma, there should be a recovery of connection between the patient and the society. The course of treatment should go from the patient herself to the realm of the society through which the patient, Uncle Suni can reach the recovery.

The providers of meteorological information want to know the level of satisfaction of forecast users with their services. To provide better service, meteorological communities of each nation are administering a survey on satisfaction of forecast users. However, most researchers provided these users with simple questionnaires and the respondents had to choose one answer among different satisfaction levels. So, the results of this kind of survey have low explanation power and are difficult to use in developing strategy of forecast service. In this study, instead of cost-loss concept, we applied satisfaction-dissatisfaction concept to the
contingency table, which is a useful tool to evaluate value of forecast, and estimated satisfaction value of 24h precipitation forecasts in Shanghai, China and Seoul, Korea. Moreover, not only the individual satisfaction value of forecast but the user group's satisfaction value was evaluated. As for the result, it is effective to enhance forecast accuracy to improve the satisfaction value of deterministic forecast user group, but in the case of probabilistic forecast, it is important to know the level of dissatisfaction of user group and distribution of probability threshold of forecast users. These results can help meteorological communities to search for a solution which can provide better satisfaction value to forecast users.

With the recent increase in BIM orders in civil engineering, project owners are supplied with BIM-based products. Due to the lack of related guidelines, however, and the vague regulations on the creation and level of drawings as well as on the products list, many owners receive BIM-based products along with the existing 2D products. This can lead to task overlapping by designers or contractors and can cause the owners to have more data to maintain. If the existing 2D-based electronic supply system is changed to a BIM ordering system to reduce such a burden, it is necessary to examine the 2D products that can be extracted from or substituted for the BIM model so as to minimize the overlapping products. Therefore, in this study, BIM modeling of road construction projects whose enforcement plan by the Ministry of Land and Transportation has been completed was conducted, and based on the study results, the possibility of extracting 2D drawings from a total of 3,767 drawing items was determined. The results showed that 2,549 drawing items (67%) could be extracted as 2D drawings from the BIM model, and in particular, drawing items related to general connection work, earthwork, and amenities work could be most effectively substituted. The results of this study can be used as the base data for reducing the number of 2D drawings or substituting them in developing a BIM-based product supply system in the future.

Project to deal with cultural archetype as a material for creation to develop modern one has continued. But it would be meaningless if cultural archetype is simply reproduced into modern one with modern medium so that such contents cannot see through desire that the general public, that is, contemporary recipients want. This is because desire of people who lived in the past is not completely same as one of modern people. This study began to make convergence from Bulgasalee(不可殺伊) as a Korean cultural archetype to cultural contents fit to modern times. To develop creative character based on ground for existing Bulgasalee(不可殺伊), these were investigated - method and meaning of modern transformation for classics, economic value of the character, and examples to understand direction of future development. Bulgasalee(不可殺伊) as a Korean cultural archetype is Korean style monster where wish of contemporary people was reflected so that it has character of anti-war and hero. To eat iron and be related to fire is a unique character that only Bulgasalee(不可殺伊) has. Bulgasalee(不可殺伊) re-born in modern sense based on such characters is equipped with tool to treat iron as arms and to it, image of fireman is reflected. It is thought that this study not only suggested character for successful modern transformation of cultural archetype but also newly developed value that the character has.

Since conventional methods for the reconstruction of 3D objects used a number of cameras or pictures, they required specific hardwares or they were sensitive to the photography environment with a lot of processing time. In this paper, we propose a 3D object reconstruction method using one photograph based on structured light in ubiquitous environments. We use color pattern of the conventional method for structured light. In this paper, we propose a novel pipeline consisting of various image processing techniques for line pattern extraction and matching, which are very important for the performance of the object reconstruction. And we propose the optimal cost function for the pattern matching. Using our method, it is possible to reconstruct a 3D object with efficient computation and easy setting in ubiquitous or mobile environments, for example, a smartphone with a subminiature projector like Galaxy Beam.

Generally in case of tablet PC's, the Windows 8 is used to support various functions or development convenience, however it cannot support real-time processing. In addition, existing commercial solutions and RTiK has a problem to support real-time processing due to impossibility of getting APIC timer count value which is used to generate timer interrupt separated from that of Windows. Thus, in this paper, we set the initial APIC count value using MSR_FSB_FREQ to support real-time processing on the Windows 8-based tablet PC's. Additionally, we deal with designing and implementing RTiK+ providing real-time processing to guarantee interrupt periods by controlling C-State which is used for low power techniques. To evaluate the performance of the proposed RTiK+, we measured the periods of generated real-time threads using RDTSC instructions which return the number of CPU clock ticks, and verified that RTiK+ operates correctly within the error ranges of 1ms.

Debate on the introduction of musical 'stage quota' has been triggered to protect domestic original musical market. In the in-depth interviews with experts, most of the interviewees were in favor of the introduction of this system, ensuring mainly cultural diversity. The proposed model by proponents is that large-scaled national and public theaters(1,000 seats or more) must perform original musicals at least from 20% to 30% of total musical performance days per year set by law until its competitiveness should be ensured. Opponents proposed that government should design musical promotion and funding policy. The study implies that stage quota should carried out since the system is essential, and should be institutionalized through legislation. It is also suggested that government should consider and consult the stakeholders to draft this system reflecting answerers' limitations such as target, quota rate, period to minimize side effects like shrinkage of musical industry.

The present study analyzed the KOCCA's Game Immersion data to explore the relationship between psychological traits and game immersion. Psychological traits were classified into four categories; emotional stability, self-esteem, willpower, and happiness. These were put into the multiple regression analysis as the dependent variables with age, sex (dummy), economic status of the homes, variety of leisure activities, friend and family relationship, and time to play games. Four types of immersion (psychological unstability, bad relationship, interrupted daily lives, and failure to control game time and desire) were put into the multiple regression analysis as the independent variables. The multiple regression analysis indicated that the dependent variables predicted the game immersion. Among the psychological traits emotional stability was the strongest factor (negative) that influences the game immersion. Next powerful indicator (negative) among the psychological traits was self-esteem. Based on the findings, measures to alleviate the problems of game immersion and ideas for further research were suggested.

DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2013.13.11.829
This study performed comprehensive tests on the four hypotheses on the capital structures for the firms listed in the KOSPI during the period from 2006 to 2011. It may be of concern to find any financial profiles on firms' leverage across the book- and market-value bases since there was relatively little attention drawn to any financial changing profile of the leverage surrounding the period of the pre-and the post-global financial crises. The findings of this study may also be compared with those of the previous related literature, by which it may be expected to enhance the robustness and consistency of the results across the different classifications on capital markets. It was found that three explanatory variables such as PFT, SIZE, and RISK, were found to be the statistically significant attributes on leverage during the tested period. Moreover, the outcome by the Fisher Exact test showed that a firm belonging to each corresponding industry may possess its reversion tendency towards the industry mean and median leverage ratios.

In today's knowledge-based industries, knowledge can be said to be a significant factor that has a decisive impact on corporate competitiveness. Recently, Korean construction companies have been going through a difficult period of time because of various negative domestic and foreign factors, such as economic decline and a continued sluggish domestic construction market, mainly due to the Korean government's real estate regulations and increasing competition from overseas companies with improved technologies. To help domestic construction companies navigate such an environment, this study empirically analyzes how the nature of corporate knowledge impacts the acquisition, transfer and deployment of knowledge within the organization of a company. Through such empirical analysis, we looked into how internal attributes of corporate knowledge affect the acquisition, transfer and application of such knowledge for domestic construction companies, with the application of the structural equation modeling (SEM). According to the results of this study, it is clear that the attributes of corporate knowledge have a significant impact on the acquisition, transfer and application of corporate knowledge, and therefore on the managerial performance of domestic companies.

Man-heo-Jeong, which was located in the middle of the Sibri bamboo grove near by Tae-hwa river in Ulsan, was a Jeong-ja(a kind of pavilion) by Park Chui-moon, both a military officer and a nationwide town chief. Now we can presume the appearance of Man-heo-Jeong, referring to the old map describing old Ulsan districts and to old literatures of Park Chui-moon's family describing downtown of Ulsan of that times. It is estimated that the size of Manheo-Jung was constructed three-bay in front view, one point half-bay in side view and terrace in the fore front. Its space composition was designed likewise one-bay was both sides and in the middle there was one-bay Maru called joong-dang-hyeob-sil type. Such a structure made people to enter from the back entrance of gazabo and look the front view dramatically.

The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 13, issue 11, 2013, Pages 957~967
DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2013.13.11.957
While a vast number of cad drawings are produced in the life cycle of construction projects from the planning, design, and construction phases to the maintenance and control phases, the creation and distribution of non-standard drawings make it difficult for the construction parties to communicate with one another and to recycle, maintain, and control drawings by project phase. The Korea standard of CAD drawing in construction CALS/EC, which stipulates the standard for construction CAD drawings, is based on roads, rivers, and railways in line- and unit-based structures, allowing the creation of standardized CAD drawings. Such standard, however, cannot be easily applied to construction projects with multiple facilities like harbors, housing sites, or lands consisting of surface forms. In particular, port field consist of complex docks and amenities located in a certain coastal area based on multiple objectives. They also contain the concept of housing sites, like background land, and are composed of various civil engineering facilities, construction facilities, and port field, so that the existing CAD drawing standard cannot be easily implemented. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to maximize the efficiency of the information related to drawing information and to ultimately support smooth information exchanges in construction design by conducting a development research on the expansion of the CAD drawing standard that meets the needs of port field.

It is becoming increasingly difficult for colleges to recruit new students to their full capacity. The increase of the withdrawal rate drives these colleges into crisis yet little has been done about it, because students with great possibility to withdraw enter colleges and old measures to stop them from dropping out hardly work. This study attempts to grope new measures to prevent dropout from college. To do this, I investigated withdrawal rate by college admission types and suggested measures to reduce withdrawal rate by incorporating the results of the investigation into admission procedures. I also compared the different types of admission in students satisfaction with college life and withdrawal rate, and suggested the measures to alleviated withdrawal rate. I expect the suggestions made in this study would be used effectively to reduce the withdrawal in colleges.

The purpose of this study was to establish basic materials for providing a learning type specific simulation education through identifying the differences in self-efficacy, problem solving ability and clinical competence before and after a learning type specific simulation education, with 145 3rd-year nursing students at a university as the study subjects. This study is a single-group, before-and-after designed experiment for verifying the learning type specific effects after simulation education. As a result of the experiment on the learning types of nursing students, the adaptors were seen to be the most, and the after-simulation education problem solving ability (F=5.015, p = 0.02) and the after-education clinical competence (F=3.288, p = 0.02) showed statistically significant differences. From which, based on the fact that the convergers were seen to be significantly higher than the adaptors and the divergers were higher than the adaptors in regard to problem solving ability, and the fact that the convergers were seen to be significantly higher than the adaptors in regard to clinical competence, it was possible to ascertain that there are differences in the effects of learning type specific simulation education. However, self-efficacy did not show any statistically significant differences. Based on these results, it can be expected that a simulation education by learning types can be provided.
