Petascale systems(so called supercomputers) have been mainly used for supporting communication-intensive and tightly-coupled parallel computations based on message passing interfaces such as MPI(HPC: High-Performance Computing). On the other hand, computing paradigms such as High-Throughput Computing(HTC) mainly target compute-intensive (relatively low I/O requirements) applications consisting of many loosely-coupled tasks(there is no communication needed between them). In Korea, recently emerging applications from various scientific fields such as pharmaceutical domain, high-energy physics, and nuclear physics require a very large amount of computing power that cannot be supported by a single type of computing resources. In this paper, we present our HTCaaS(High-Throughput Computing as a Service) which can leverage national distributed computing resources in Korea to support these challenging HTC applications and describe the details of our system architecture, job execution scenario and case studies of various scientific applications.

The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 14, issue 5, 2014, Pages 63~73
DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2014.14.05.063
The article compares the women's portrayal between Korean family drama and Chinese family drama. The two dramas are Korean family drama 'the Golden Days of Daughter-in-law ' and Chinese family drama 'the Beautiful Days of Daughter-in-law'. There are many ways to see dramas but dramas are the basement which express the society and the culture in that country, and here the women's portrayal is the main theme. The article follows steps: first, through the dramatic episode of two dramas, show the characters of main images. And through the main characters analyze the reared culture and show the same points and differences between the two chosen episodes. As a result of the women's portrayal analysis through the sex-role model, there were some differences between two dramas : new generation of Korean daughter-in-law tend to be very independent and they make effort to develop themselves even though they got married ; for Chinese daughter-in-law, very dependent, family is prior to everything without opportunity of self-development.

Secondly, cluster analysis results found that although Korean movies were clustered by many emotional expressions such as fun, immersion and impression, foreign movies were grouped by joust an emotional expression including fun. Internet users tended to divide foreign movie into two kinds of movies such as fun movie and boring movies.
Usefulness of Meyerhold's 'Biomechanics' as an Alternative for a Method of Actor Training I - focused on the background and theoretical principles of 'Biomechanics'
Cho, Han-Jun ;
The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 14, issue 5, 2014, Pages 95~106
DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2014.14.05.095
Meyerhold's 'Biomechanics', which germinated from a critical point of view towards naturalism theatre, is a primary acting method that attempted to approach to acting in a material way, along with Stanislavski's 'System'. However, not only for a reason of the political background that all study on Meyerhold were forbidden in Russia but also for a reason of universalization of Stanislavski's 'System' through the world mutated into American acting method, it is a fact that Meyerhold's 'Biomechanics' is not actively utilized in a field of actor training at the present day. Especially, in case of actor training in Korea, 'Biomechanics' is also misunderstood as a method only focused on an actor's physical approach. Therefore, a purpose of this study is to explore usefulness of 'Biomechanics' in order to practically apply it to the actor training through correct understanding.

DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2014.14.05.107
The purpose of this study is to verify the applicability of concept mapping in the process of planning social welfare program based on community network. Concept mapping is a kind of decision-making method that structuralized complex ideas and presented visually. Already, concept mapping is widely utilized in counseling, nursing and public health area to plan and evaluation their program and service. For recent, effectiveness of concept mapping has been reported. Concept mapping is a effective decision-making method that they recognize outcome gap between service provider and client, reach the outcome's consensus in counseling and nursing, medical area. In this study, we conceptualized 3rd year outcomes of Community Impact Project that was supported from Busan Chest using concept mapping. This CI project intervenes children and youth who lives in Buk-gu, Busan. Concept mapping has six stages-preparation, collecting ideas, structuring statements, representing statement, interpreting the results of the analysis, applying the results. We followed these steps. The participants were working at social welfare organizations, total 11 persons. We obtained 60 statements and analyzed using multidimensional scaling. we collected 5 clusters, cluster 1 'awareness and attitude change of children and youth', cluster 2 'social system change of children and youth', cluster 3 'friendly community formation', cluster 4 'community people change', cluster 5 'service provider change'. As a result, among total 5 clusters formed, 'awareness and attitude change of children and youth' came to the strongest outcomes. When concept mapping was applied to the program planning, the consensus of the opinion came easily in the decision-making process, and the participants were empowered. In addition, clear conceptualization on each element of the program planning was made.

The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 14, issue 5, 2014, Pages 132~143
DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2014.14.05.132
This study discusses factors that affect on female workers' stress from nurturing. Referring to the first research (2008) and the second research (2009) of KLoWF, the study analyzed the data of 218 female workers with one or more preschool children. The results from the analysis are as the following. First, the female workers who acknowledge her image as a traditional woman are more likely to be exposed to greater stress. Therefore, now working mothers need to free themselves from the traditional idea. Second, since it was clearly observed that husbands' who share family responsibilities has a significant impact on women's stress from nurturing, a new focus should be on the effectiveness of husband's sharing of family responsibilities, whereas it has been mainly focused on education of working mothers. Third, considering the result that nurturing expense variable showed a significant statistics, there is a desperate need of a political task to support nurturing expenses.

Lee, Hyo-Sung ; Ko, Greene ;
The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 14, issue 5, 2014, Pages 144~155
DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2014.14.05.144
This study aims to overcome the limitations of prior studies that have failed to take into account the impact of psycho-social factors on the employment of people with disabilities as well as the differences in employment by life stage. This study employs a research model that includes psycho-social factors along with human capital to examine how the determinants of employment differ for the disabled by life stage. The analysis in this study takes the form of logistic regression, using data from the fifth wave of the Korea Welfare Panel Survey. Analysis results show that the employment probability of young people with disabilities is significantly associated with their experience of discrimination, with their chance of employment decreasing when they have more experience of discrimination. Middle-aged people with disabilities are more likely to be employed when they have a lower level of education, a better health condition and a higher level of labor ability. For the disabled elderly, their labor ability is the only factor affecting their possibility of employment; they have a higher chance of getting a job when they have a higher level of labor ability.

Lee, Yong-Jae ; Gang, Tae-Woo ;
The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 14, issue 5, 2014, Pages 156~165
DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2014.14.05.156
In this study, the effect of communication with a guardian of a recipient of a Long-term Care Program on job satisfaction of care helpers of in-home care facilities for the elderly is analyzed. First, most of the care helpers are content with their job despite low pay and short work-hour. Especially, they are aware of the need of communication with a guardian but skeptical about the need of having intimacy with a guardian, so the relation between a care helper and a guardian is usually formal only. Second, in terms of characteristics of a guardian, care helpers have higher job satisfaction when a guardian is a male and old, and does not have an unreasonable demand. Third, they have higher job satisfaction when they have better communicate with a guardian rather than higher intimacy. Considering this result, we should make programs such as education for a guardian to develop intimacy with a care helper and one for a care helper to develop intimacy and communicate effectively with a guardian. It is also needed to have guidelines which set up relationship between a helper and a guardian.

Primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) has been found to be superior, in terms of hospital mortality and long-term outcome, compared with thrombolytic therapy in patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI). However, the clinical benefits of primary PCI have not been precisely evaluated in elderly patients.1,974 patients (Group I: n=1,018,
; Group II: n=956, age<65years,
) who underwent primary PCI for AMI at Chonnam National University Hospital between 2006 and 2010 were analyzed according to their clinical, angiographic characteristics for hospital and one-year survival. Group I had a higher percentage of women, diabetes mellitus, hypertension, multi-vessel disease and lower prevalence of current smoking, hyperlipidemia, familial history than Group II. Culprit lesions were at the left anterior descending artery, left circumflex artery, right coronary artery and left main artery in 42.8% vs. 45.0%, 34.1% vs. 29.6%, 14.6% vs 14.6, 2.7% vs. 1.6%, respectively (p=0.007). Stent diameter was smaller in group I (
, p=0.001). In-hospital mortality was higher in group I (8.4 vs. 1.9%, p<0.001). There were significant differences in the rates of major adverse cardiac events between the two groups during one-year clinical follow-up (20.1 vs.14.0%, p<0.001). On multiple logistic regression analysis, systolic blood pressure<100mmHg, serum
, Killip class> I, multivessel disease, left ventricular ejection fraction <40% and cerebro vascular disease were independent predictors of one-year motality in patients over 65 years after PCI.
