Through the development of internet mobile devices and online business activation, sensitive data of unspecified user is being easily exposed. In such an open business environment, the outflow of sensitive personal information has often been remarked on recently for which adoption of encryption solution for database became top priority in terms of importance. In 2011, government also legislated for the protection of personal information as an information network law, and is now applying the law to a variety of industries. Firms began to comply with these regulations by establishing various measures for protection of personal information and are now quickly introducing encryption solution to reinforce security of personal information they are managing. In this paper, I present architecture and technological parts that should be considered when introducing security solution.
Dramatic Plotting by Characterization - Based on Exercises for 'Screenwriting' with the Case Study of The Third Man
Huh, Eunhee ;
The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 14, issue 6, 2014, Pages 11~25
DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2014.14.06.011
In strong dramas, pot, character, and theme, three basic elements in dramatic structure, are effectively integrated forwards the same dramatic idea. Plot might be considered as the most important element to combine events and character. However, at some point of the script, the writer becomes less interested in the mechanics of the plot, and the characters take over, because audiences remember the characters or the situations more clearly than the plot. Therefore, the workshop of dramatic structure would be successful when it starts from excogitating the character and the situation, by improvising 'voices' of characters, building 'back story', and reconstructing 'outline from the antagonist's view'. With these exercises, the writer and the director understand the mechanics of dramatic plotting by characterization, which include the choice of the protagonist, and the description of plausible actions and the theme, and they consequentially find the way to obtain solidity and plausibility in the scenes.
Aesthetic Study of Film Sound Inherent in Hitchcock's
Park, Byung-Kyu ;
The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 14, issue 6, 2014, Pages 26~33
DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2014.14.06.026
From a film esthetic point of view, this paper deals with all the sound elements which are speech, noise, and music for the signification of sound in Hitchcock's
. The speech makes a mental image auditory through voice-over, and sometimes it has the indiscernibleness of life and death to be incarnate. This paper has demonstrated that the noise also can mark punctuation-narrative boundary besides visual techniques pointed out by Metz, and it cites the sound of falling water which completes shower scene, offsetting a scream in audience's mind. In the music, desire and oppression are symbolized and they are making a dissonance. Upon occasion, the coexistence of two chords represents duplicity in Norman-mother. Also, the music may disappear in the way of silence, being mummified in the time paused. Thus, the common filmic signification of sounds in
can be called reconceptualization of the image.

DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2014.14.06.034
Young Chinese audience can select and watch TV dramas, movies and entertainment programs from many different nations, such as Korea, America, Japan, England, Thailand, India, and so on, through multiple channels, such as online video sites - iQiyi, Youku, LeTV, PPTV, and many others - which were induced by changes in media environment. Various genres of Korean popular culture have recently become popular in China, but this phenomenon differs from the early Korean Wave. During the earlier period (from 1997 to the early 2000s) of the Korean Wave, soap operas were popular among middle-aged women, but now various other genres, such as K-pop, entertainment programs, etc., are also popular in China. The purpose of this study is to explore how young Chinese audiences use foreign pop culture, including their preferred genres, reasons for preferring these genres, and the relationship between the preferred pop culture and national image in Korean, American, and Japanese pop culture were analyzed. According to the study results, similarities and differences between preferred genres and the reasons for preferring these genres, and also a close correlation between preferred pop culture and national image were found. These findings will be fundamental for supporting the continual development of the Korean Wave in China.

This study seeks to analyze vertical integration structure of Korean popular music market focused on corporation concentration and production system by applying production of culture perspective of Peterson, Subject of analysis is Melon weekly music chart(2000-2013), which is No.1 digital music distributor. The result showed vertical integration structure of Korean popular music industry was different from America. Vertical integration of American major was based on open system to be responsible for promotion and distribution by M&A of independent label but entrusted them-with total production to cope-with uncertainty of music market. On the other hand, Korean system was in charge of pure distribution only as digital service provider and it showed modified vertical structure because traditional value chain was destroyed by changing digital music environment. Especially found seriousness of oligopoly by distribution company of conglomerate affiliation. and this is harm against building healthy industry ecosystem in creative economy era and it needs improvement through study of advanced case, open system.

DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2014.14.06.093
Recently Korean film industry has continuously experienced a rapid growth and expanded its influence to foreign countries. Accordingly, there have been numerous studies in various research areas to investigate the characteristics of the industry. In this study, we applied social network analysis based on the attributes such as genres, ratings, distributors, nationalities, sizes, and profitability to divide the movies into several clusters with respect to their similarity. Results suggested that the ratings and nationality rather than the genre are the major factors to divide the motion picture market into clusters and the profitability also varies much across the clusters. Furthermore, estimation of the diffusion model showed the positive relationship between the success of a movie and the word-of-mouth effect, while the relatively unsuccessful titles exhibited a monotonic decreasing diffusion pattern with the high initial demand and the early peak time.

DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2014.14.06.162
Among OECD countries, Korea is the only country which has continuously recorded total birthrate below 1.3 person for over 10 years. Since 2006, the Korean government has promoted the population policy in full scale. But, the fertility rate which became low has not shown any sign to go up again. Thus, Korea can be understood as having fallen into 'low fertility trap'. Such a low fertility can cause serious problems such as weakening of national competitive power and even survival of the country. In Korea, due to studies and finding jobs among young women, their childbirths are kept being postponed. In some cases, poor working conditions where women work can cause physical conditions not appropriate for pregnancy. Thus, it is very important to let childbearing women, pregnant women take care of their health. Accordingly, conscious of this low fertility era, this study examined major international organizations and countries' health promoting strategies-with focus on motherhood and suggested some methods to effectively improve health for motherhood.

DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2014.14.06.241
Acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL) is a cancer of the blood. Although electron beam (EB) irradiation is used with other anti-cancer agents, EB irradiation can be harmful to normal tissues around the cancer. In the present study, we evaluate the differential cytotoxic effect of EB irradiation with other molecules, including TNF-
, on DMSO-treated HL-60 cells and HL-60 cells. HL-60 cells are the human promyleocytic leukemia cell line and are differentiated by DMSO. DMSO-treated HL-60 cells are considered to be normal granulocytic cells. In these results, TNF-
may be used as the potential agent for the treatment of blood cancer without side effects in low dose of EB irradiation therapy.

The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 14, issue 6, 2014, Pages 247~254
DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2014.14.06.247
For the purpose of early diagnosis of the breast cancer, the attention on the screening mammography has been increasing-with supply of digital mammography day by day. Image quality is decided by target materials and filter combinations. Optimized selection by a glandular density and a thickness is needed, because these combinations change x-ray spectrum and effect to image quality. The purpose of this study is to find out optimized target and filter combinations through the evaluation of quantitative image quality and to suggest means which minimize patient dose through MCNPX. In results, spatial frequency resolution evaluation which is quantitative image quality evaluation method, MTF, NPS, DQE shows that we have to select Mo/Mo combinations or Mo/Rh combinations when compressed breast is thin. but in case of that when compressed breast is thick, we have to select Rh/Rh combinations or W /Rh combinations. In a comprehensive evaluation, W!Rh combinations which are not used in thin breasts in practice was superior to all image quality evaluation. This result is somewhat different-with clinical examination results. Secondary end point was organ dose evaluation, radiation dose of opposite breast was approximately 47 ~73% effectiveness when selecting standard breast. In conculsion, the most important point is that we have to select the optimal combinations-with considering dose evaluation and various thickness.

The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 14, issue 6, 2014, Pages 255~261
DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2014.14.06.255
The generation amount of radioactive waste has been rapidly increased by increase of the usage of radioisotope source in medical field. Especially, the use of the radioactive source of I-131 with short half-life of 8.02 days used in treatment of thyroid has been increased, and all of the wastes concerned have been disposed by means of the self-disposal method. IAEA proposed criteria for clearance level of waste which depends on the individual (10
) and collective dose (1 man-Sv/y), and concentration of each nuclide (IAEA Safety Series No 111-P-1.1, 1992 and IAEA RS-G-1.7, 2004). In this study, various radioactive wastes in medical fields are collected and measured for establishing the disposal methods and procedures of radioactive wastes. In addition, comparison evaluation of decay storage period between the half-life which was calculated by attenuation curve based on real measurement and analytical half-life is considered. With comparing the theoretical half-life and the effective half life(7.72 days) which was based on the decay equation of measured data, it is resulted in the theoretical half-life is longer than effective half-life. The storage period of radioactive waste for self-disposal may be curtailed. The result of this study will be proposed as ISO standard.

DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2014.14.06.262
Considering that few studies had paid attention to the living characteristics and social environment surrounding amblyopes, the present study surveyed the parents of children aged 3 to 12 and diagnosed-with amblyopia to analyse the time when the children were first diagnosed-with amblyopia, the characteristics of their living environment and the socio-environmental factorsand to delve into correlations. For the purpose of this study, 104 parents of patients in 4 hospitals in Seoul, Gyeonggi and Incheon consented to participate in the survey from September 2 to November 23: 2013. As for the time when the children were first diagnosed with amblyopia: the age of 4 accounted for the highest percentage(28.8%). The older the parents were: the later the children were diagnosed with amblyopia (p<.01). The higher the education of parents, the earlier the diagnosis of amblyopia(p<.05). The present findings-will be conducive to decreasing the number of patients who have no choice but to live-with low vision for life by missing some timely visual acuity tests and ophthalmological examination and particularly to developing a social safety net that can realize national medical welfare for the low-income families and the socially disadvantaged class.With the help of information technology.

This study addresses an empirical issue which has been received little attention in the contemporary finance literature: To identify any financial determinants of the profitability indices for the firms belonging to the Korean chaebol. Three hypotheses of concern were postulated and tested for the sample firms covering the periods of the pre-and post-financial global crises. Regarding the results on the 1st hypothesis test of characterizing any financial profiles for the firms (belonging to the chaebols) by estimating a legitimate panel data model: the present study found the statistically significant relationships of the explanatory variables (BVLEVl, MVLEVl, MV/BV, RISK, FCFF and FOS) with the book-value based profitability ratio: while the market-valued profitability index was explained only by BVLEV2. Regarding the 2nd hypothesis test for the profitability of the sample firms at the industry level: the chaebol firms in the chemical and the food industries overall positioned themselves into the top ranks in order, which was tested by the ANCOVA and the Tukey multiple comparison procedure. Finally: on the 3rd hypothesis test for the 'adjusted' Dupont system, only two such as the 'operating margin' and the 'asset turnover' showed their significant effects between the chaebol firms and their counterparts in both the (parametric) independent samples t-test and the (nonparametric) Wilcoxon-Mann-Whitney statistics.

DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2014.14.06.513
The landscape of Christian higher education is changing. Students once spent most of their time in a traditional classroom with a professor, but now they take online and hybrid courses (face to face and online). Some students complete their entire degree in a fully online program. Nearly every type of college in the United States offers online courses. Online learning has clearly moved from a fad to a fixture, and nowhere is that more apparent than at one of the largest universities in the country. As the demand for online course and programs increase, teachers and administrators in Christian universities and colleges face new challenges. Even though some teachers and administrators still believe online education is inferior to traditional face-to-face learning, we found no statistically significant differences in standard measures of learning outcomes between students in the traditional classes and students in the hybrid-online format classes. In this situation, since online education will develop continuously, Christian universities should utilize it variously through complete understanding and research about it predicting the future of online education style.
