DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2014.14.08.001
The projection mapping technique is used in various ways in almost every genre of performance arts at the moment. Thus, artist from various areas are participated in contents productions using it. The diversification of projection mapping contents gave producers a clue to try fresher visual effects and it was connected to the change of point of time using the camera working which was never used in old projection mapping contents productions. It is analyzed that the use of camera workings in the projection mapping image maximizes the visual Tactility and helps audiences concentrate on the contents. This study performed the theoretical research on the 'camera working' which is a new visual expression of the projection mapping and analyzed cases of projection mapping works applying them. It is to reconstruct the camera working which has been applied only by images of movies and suggest a guideline to create the optimized visual effect.

Han, Hyuck ;
The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 14, issue 8, 2014, Pages 22~29
DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2014.14.08.022
A lock is a general and popular way of serializing accesses to shared data in multiprocessor environments. After the mutual exclusion was first introduced in 1960s, many spinlock algorithms have been proposed and deployed to real systems such as operating systems and (transactional) database systems. In this study, we measure impacts of a lock mechanism on a database system under various CPU configurations using a high-end multicore system. For the evaluation, we use the most up-to-date version of MySQL (version 5.6) with InnoDB engine, which has been substantially re-architected to improve scalability on multicore machines. We changed the original spinlock function of InnoDB to evaluate various spinlock mechanisms on multicore machines.

Shin, Soo-Yeon ; Suh, Jae-Won ;
The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 14, issue 8, 2014, Pages 30~39
DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2014.14.08.030
The proposed watermark embedding algorithm uses histogram of difference image between a modified original image and predicted image. To increase the prediction performance of the predicted image, the reference pixels for prediction are adaptively selected and the other pixels are directionally interpolated with the reference pixels. The simulation result shows that the proposed algorithm gives good performances in the embedding capacity and the PSNR values.
Representation of Others in TV Contents: Focusing on the KBS News 9
Joo, Jaewon ;
The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 14, issue 8, 2014, Pages 40~49
DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2014.14.08.040
Globalisation has intensified the international movement of labour and South Korea is no exception. Korea, which in the past was itself a labour-exporting country, has seen a reversal in human mobility since the late 1990's with a rapid growth in immigration and a transformation of a previously almost ethnically homogenous society. In this context, the important questions about the cultural and political implications associated with the construction of minority representations in the media have remained highly unexplored. The starting point of this study is an examination of the vital role of public service broadcasting (PSB) in Korean society, where ethnic minorities have increasingly become visible. The study shows the significant role of PSB in representing cultural diversity in public debates and the ways in which such representations and their dissemination reflect media power.
Changes of Directing Capability Displayed in the Visual Expressions in TV Dramas
Roh, Dong-Ryul ;
The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 14, issue 8, 2014, Pages 50~60
DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2014.14.08.050
A writer's text signals are converted into visual ones as a director exerts his fundamental capability to interpret and direct. On the other hand, his situational capability comes into play as the production environment changes. Such latest developments as the increasing popularity of production outsourcing, the sapped advertising market, and the growth in the number of the media channels and consequently heightened level of competition have led to changes in the way of advertising and production sponsorship. In turn, directors are faced with a new environment, where they are now required to pick up the role of an advertising director. Given that the production costs have been rising faster than the advertising revenue, such change in the director's situational capability seems to be part of the overall drama industry's evolution.

Yoon, Su-Kyung ; Kim, Myeong-Ji ; Choi, Jun-Ho ;
The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 14, issue 8, 2014, Pages 61~73
DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2014.14.08.061
While past studies on e-books have mainly focused on the uses and gratifications (UG) and technology acceptance model(TAM), this study rather analysed the innovation resistance factors of adopting the e-book based on the innovation resistance model. The research model comprises of two factors: 1) innovation characteristics which include relative advantages, compatability and complexity, 2) user characteristics which encompass attitudes towards innovation and existing products (i.e., paper books). Using online survey questionnaire, this study examined the effects of those innovation and user characteristics on the innovation resistance, and the relationship between innovation resistance and intention of adoption. The results showed that complexity and attitude towards existing products affected the innovation resistance which has negative influence on the intention of adoption. Accordingly, it is necessary to improve the ease of use in the whole process from purchase to reading experiences, and highlight e-books' own interactive features and functions which are perceived as different from paper-book user experience.

DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2014.14.08.084
Among artworks of Shin Sa-Im-Dang, 'grass and insect painting' was drawn the rustic materials that cannot be seen without a loving attention because they are too small and insignificant creatures. Likewise, 'grass and insect painting' is work that can feel the wonder of life, simplicity, and womanly sensitivity unique. Therefore, beauty of Korea can be found through the works. It needs to develop high value-added culture products with her works which contained this unique beauty of Korea and artistic soul. In this study, I tried to develop the scarf textile designs which had Korean sentiment with the Shin Sa-Im-Dang's 'grass and insect painting' and to make the scarves with the textile designs developed. For the purpose, theoretical examination about her art world and artworks was first performed. And then six scarf textile designs which based on them were developed using adobe illustrator 10.0, computer design program. The textile designs developed were printed on 100% silk satin using textile digital printing system. Six scarves were made with them.

Kim, Jin-Seob ;
The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 14, issue 8, 2014, Pages 95~109
DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2014.14.08.095
The variety show has expanded as a contemporary genre of popular culture since it first appeared as the Industrial Revolution allowed the public to enjoy their leisure time. In Korea, it has developed itself in similar ways, but it also has been criticized as low-brow. Recently, however, the real variety show has caught great attention as one of the social phenomena and is winning fervent responses from general publics as it is not consumed as a kind of entertainment show but is establishing its form and style as Korean real variety show. On the basis of these features, this paper focuses on the characteristics of real variety show as openness and expandability which can be found in the pre-modern Korea's traditional theatrical performances. Quite different from the cases in the Western culture, the Korean traditional theatrical performances used to set a stage up around the living space, attract audience to willingly approach the stage and participate in the theatre, and let them enjoy their participation. At the same time, however, The perfection of the shows had not been missed. And in comparison with the traditional theatrical performances, the present real variety show reveals the anticipation that the real variety show will not settle down just as a certain format or a genre, but accumulate its abundant contents and continue its new attempts and changes.

The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 14, issue 8, 2014, Pages 110~121
DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2014.14.08.110
As the Korean market is becoming increasingly diverse, it is imperative that marketers targeting the Korean market understand the consumers with various racial and cultural backgrounds. The current study investigated the effects of the endorser race (White vs. Black) on the attitudes toward the ad and brand while varying the experimental context (private vs. public) and product type (high involvement-rational vs. low involvement-emotional) with White participants. Impression management was included as a covariate. The results showed that when the endorser was White and the product was an automobile, participants indicated more positive attitudes toward the ad in the private context than in the public context. When the endorser was Black, the context had no significant effects on the attitudes. The implications of these findings for the Korean market are discussed.

Eum, Yeong-Cheol ;
The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 14, issue 8, 2014, Pages 122~129
DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2014.14.08.122
The idea of global cities were widespread in the 20th century, but now in the 21st century the paradigm has changed into creative cities. They are trying to develop the creative contents in which economy and culture are connected to promote their global competitiveness. This thesis focuses on the three main points represented in the projects of publishing journals of Namyangju city. Firstly, the project held 'community-based lectures of humanities,' and 'literary contest' to induce participation of the citizens. The results of the events, however, were not successful because of the narrow extent of creative groups of the city and not enough campaign of the city. Secondly, there was the education of citizens to promote their participation, as they are so much the main parts of publishing journals that theory and practice of reporting on their own is essential. Thirdly, the project committee established citizen publishing committee and encouraged them to do their parts at each department. As a result, citizens succeeded in building cultural infrastructure for shaping the creative city and had the initiative to publish journals about masters, masterpieces, and attractions in Namyangju city. The city and the citizens should practice the culture contents projects in both sides' cooperation.
The Necessity of Separation of Dance Copyright in Copyright Law
Kim, Hee-Kweon ; Lee, Ru-Ra ;
The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 14, issue 8, 2014, Pages 130~136
DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2014.14.08.130
In national copyright law, dance is included in dramatic works. Considering the differences of conception of drama and dance or that of legal handling, however, it is reasonable that choreographic works be separated; so are the cases of many different developed countries. It is different that through lines emotion is communicated in drama but through physical movements in dance. Thus as dance is separated from dramatic works, it is possible to discuss unique qualities of choreographic works.

The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 14, issue 8, 2014, Pages 137~149
DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2014.14.08.137
The purpose of this study is to elucidate the emotion-understanding of Korean and thus to find out the importance of their way of self-expression by exploring the sentiment of Korean as regards their way of communications and self-expression therein. The method of this study is, being presumed the Cheong as the Korean's sentiment, to define the differences of concept between the Cheong traditionally used by them and the emotion employed in the psychology or the theory of consultation. And also, this study examines the aforementioned importance under the presumption that the Cheong in the Korean Culture makes it difficult that their emotion-understanding and self-expression to be perfect in their way of communication. In order to attain such purpose in this study, it investigates how they have seen the emotion-understanding and self-expression as to the way of communication throughout Carl G. Jung's psychology and T oegye Yi Hwang's theory of Human Mind and Nature respectively in the Occidental and Korean's Ideology. The most important thing, to be enlightened in this study, in the way of communication and self-expression are the emotion come from the big-Self(Self) in Carl G. Jung's psychology and that of the righteous sentiment from the human nature in T oegye Yi Hwang's theory of Human Mind and Nature. In conclusion, it reveals that our behavior, unvaryingly in the Orient and the Occident, is not the rational subject but the emotional one to be reacted only if our minds are attached mutually.

The purpose of this exploratory study is to examine if the application of smart technology(ST) would assist adjustment to the nursing home facilities in the elderly. Since there is not much previous research on this subject, we generated survey questionnaires on our own. Data were collected from the survey of 127 employees at 6 nursing homes including geriatric care workers, social workers and nurses who provide direct as well as indirect care services. Results showed that the utilization of ST would benefit the areas of family relationship support, health support, leisure support, and physical environment adjustment. As for physical environment adjustment, study participants reported that ST would help elders familiarize employees and find directions for specific space the most. As for health support, ST would be best utilized as a security sensor and program alarm system. As for support for family relationship, ST was expected to be utilized as looking at family pictures and playing with self pictures/videos. As for leisure support, ST was expected to assist elders to listen to music and watch movies/TV. These results were different according to the characteristics of the participants and the smartifacts. These results of the study will show the direction for more in-depth studies on application of smart technology for the elderly in the future.

Lee, Hyo-Sung ; Ko, Greene ;
The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 14, issue 8, 2014, Pages 207~219
DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2014.14.08.207
Recognizing the lack of empirical study that evaluates the influence of social care services on care sufficiency of individuals with disability, we have focused our study on the following research questions: What is the level of care sufficiency for individuals with disability?, What is the profile of care for individuals with disability from both formal and informal providers?, What are the service use conditions and determinants of social care service use?. This study analyzed data of 1204 individuals with disability who needed daily assistance from 5th wave of Korea Welfare Panel Study. Results showed that 50% of the respondents experienced care deficit. 77% of the respondents received no care from informal care providers and 90% from formal care providers. Despite social care services brought by the expansion of socialization of care, the average number of social service use on care was less than 1, which suggests that socialization of care did not significantly contribute to care sufficiency. In addition, for people who are 64 or younger, social care services was substituted by care from informal care providers and for those who are 65 or older, social care services supplemented care from informal care providers.

The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 14, issue 8, 2014, Pages 220~224
DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2014.14.08.220
In this study we assessed the efficacy of an automatic dispensing/injection system (ADIS) to reduce the radiation exposure of workers during PET procedures. NMW(Nuclear Medicine Workers) were classified into 2 groups, one of which used conventional method and the other used an ADIS. The radiation dose during injection were also measured in both groups, with another set of experiment. In dispensing step, ADIS imposed significantly less radiation dose than conventional method, both to finger and to whole body. In injection step, ADIS also imposed significantly less dose to finger, while the dose of whole body was somewhat larger in ADIS than in conventional method. Using ADIS, the radiation exposure of NMW during dispensing was markedly reduced. Also, the exposure of finger during injection was markedly reduced, although exposure of whole body was mildly increased.

The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 14, issue 8, 2014, Pages 225~232
DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2014.14.08.225
Underwent on modified radical mastectomy(MRM) and radiation therapy, it affects increasing rates of chronic morbidity, because of including chest wall and internal mammary nodes(IMNs). It causes the high absorbed dose on heart and ipsilateral lung. Thus in this study, we compared dose distributions through utilizing the intensity modulated radiation therapy(IMRT) and the volumetric modulated arc therapy(VMAT). We selected 10 breast cancer patients at random who took MRM and radiation therapy. Treatment plannings were done by using IMRT and VMAT from each patient ranging supraclavicular lymphnodes(SCL) and IMNs. After that we analysed the planning target volume(PTV)'s conformity and absorbed doses on heart and lungs. As a results, PTV conformities were indicated the same patten(p<0.05) in both plans. In case of Lt breast cancer patients, the dose maximum regions of the heart were more lesser in VMAT technique rather than the IMRT(p<0.05). Also, the maximum dose areas of lungs were lesser in VMAT technique rather than the IMRT(p<0.05). Therefore, it would be safe to say that it is more effective way to adapt the VMAT technique than IMRT in such cases like involve IMNs in breast cancer patients.

This study was carried out in order to seek social support direction by allowing them to recognize necessity of preparing for their stably old age life and by inquiring into the preparation for old age life targeting dental hygienists who work at dental clinics. It sent questionnaire by post to dental hygienists of 1,560 dental clinics, which were sampled with a stratified sampling method, and then conducted a cross-sectional study based on self-administration. As a result of a problem of being worried in old age life, the ratio with the response as saying of being 'economy' was indicated to be the highest. The ratio of financial preparation for old age was shown to be high with 84.3%. Its method was the highest in 'fixed deposit and installment savings' with 62.6%. The satisfaction with financial preparation for old age stood at averagely 2.60, thereby having shown to be dissatisfied. It was shown to be low with 2.97 in the mean score of physical preparation for old age life, 3.59 in emotional preparation, and 2.56 in preparation for leisure. In conclusion, the satisfaction with financial preparation for old age life in our country's dental hygienists was low. Even the physical, emotional, and leisure-based preparations were shown to be low. Hence, it is considered to be likely needed to be planned preparation for old age life from the 30s. Also, for this, Korean Dental Hygienists Association needs to positively develop several kinds of programs such as education, policy and system for old age life following these people's retirement.

The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 14, issue 8, 2014, Pages 342~364
DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2014.14.08.342
The purpose of this paper is to provide an answer for the following question: What are the major shifts and implications of the unprecedently competitive and rapidly changing media ecosystem in the era of N-screen and OTT services? I've attempted to understand the complex and competitive nexus among media from an historical context by focusing on the displacement vs. complement thesis. The TPC model by Han has been employed for the analysis of the current dynamics of US media industries by triangulating three areas: Technology/industry, public policy and consumer/culture. More specifically, the US media landscape is initially divided into two competitive turfs - the competitors equipped with OTT services and the legacy media industry, and then the traditional media industry was grouped again into PayTV group(telecom service providers with IPTV and mobile TV, cable/Satellite TV networks) and Free (over-the-air) TV networks. Six major shifts were identified by the analysis: power shift in telecom carriers, power shifts in TV industry, Telecom/OTT partnership, time shifts, place shifts, and finally business model shifts.

The assignment of exploration on individuals provides challenging work environments, while it generates high levels of complexity. On the other hand, the assignment of exploitation on individuals offers less challenging work environments, while it makes low levels of complexity. Give the characteristics of exploration and exploitation, I argue that the assignments of both exploration and exploitation create the favorable work environments to individuals. Developed hypotheses were tested using a logit regression from a sample of 168 project managers in a R&D center. I found that a manager who experienced exploitation project(s) is positively related to higher performance in exploitation project(s). In addition, a manager who experienced both exploitation and exploration projects are found to be positively associated with higher project performance.

The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 14, issue 8, 2014, Pages 374~381
DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2014.14.08.374
We investigated what target (a nationality of an artist) firms select when they are engaged in art collaboration. We identified 137 cases of art collaboration between 2005 and 2013 through the analysis of news contents and we found that Korean firms prefer to artists whose nationality is same with that of those firms. In addition, such preferences disappear when the target of art collaboration is durable goods. This implies that Korean firms prefer to artists whose nationality is different from them in art collaboration because the collaboration with those artists help firms increase product reputation although a collaboration process is not favorable to those firms.

According to the Housing Lease Protection Act, even though it is not registered, if the lessee has completed delivery of a house and the resident registration, the lease shall take effect against the third person from the following day thereof. Any lessee who has met the requirements for opposing power and obtained the fixed date on the lease contract document, shall be entitled to receive the repayment of the deposit from the converted price of the leased house, in preference to any junior obligors and other creditors, at the time of an auction as provided by the Civil Execution Act and a public sale as prescribed by the National Tax Collection Act. The lessee shall be entitled to receive a repayment of a specified amount of the deposit in preference to other persons having the security rights in the leased house. However those provisions give rise to many problems because the Housing Lease Protection Act allows the opposing power and the right of preferential payment from the following date of fulfillment of the requirement. For the purpose of solving the problems, this study suggests that the Housing Lease Protection Act need to be amended as follows. The fixed date should be added to the requirement of opposing power and the preferential right of specified deposit repayment. In addition, the commencement of opposing power and preferential right of deposit repayment need to be taken effect from the day that the requirement is fulfilled.

Je, Haejong ;
The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 14, issue 8, 2014, Pages 494~504
DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2014.14.08.494
This is a study of Hick's self-described Christological 'Copernican revolution.' Since Hick as a former Christian theologian did not want to reject one of the core Christian doctrines(incarnation), he presented his copernican revolution in terms of Agape Christology, an inspiration Christology and myth Christology through his Christological reinterpretation. Thus Hick's Christologies that are developed gradually are discussed and evaluated chronologically. First, agape Christology understands that the incarnation is taking place all the time in different degrees everywhere. As a result agape Christology makes Jesus as a mere human being. Second, an paradox of grace or inspiration Christology views the incarnation as the Spirit of God enabling people to fulfill the will of God by their free responses. This Christology assumes that divine incarnation can occur anywhere and anytime in any person. Thus, according to this, Jesus is not literally God incarnate as Christian claims. Third, myth Christology views that the incarnation is not literal but mythological. Though he prefers to use metaphor in his later writings because it has a more positive connotation than myth, myth and metaphor have one thing in common: they are neither literal nor historical. Hick's mythological Christology implies the denial of Jesus Christ as God incarnate. Accordingly, the researcher must conclude that Hick's Christology as copernican revolution cannot said to be a perfect solution for today's religious situation, even though it was a sincere try to communicate with pluralistic world.
