In recent high performance computing system, GPGPU has been widely used to process general-purpose applications as well as graphics applications, since GPU can provide optimized computational resources for massive parallel processing. Unfortunately, GPGPU doesn't exploit computational resources on GPU in executing general-purpose applications fully, because the applications cannot be optimized to GPU architecture. Therefore, we provide GPU research guideline to improve the performance of computing systems using GPGPU. To accomplish this, we analyze the negative factors on GPU performance. In this paper, in order to clearly classify the cause of the negative factors on GPU performance, GPU core status are defined into 5 status: fully active status, partial active status, idle status, memory stall status and GPU core stall status. All status except fully active status cause performance degradation. We evaluate the ratio of each GPU core status depending on the characteristics of benchmarks to find specific reasons which degrade the performance of GPU. According to our simulation results, partial active status, idle status, memory stall status and GPU core stall status are induced by computational resource underutilization problem, low parallelism, high memory requests, and structural hazard, respectively.
Suggestions of Improvements on Visual Information System in Subway Transfer Station -Mainly with Service for Destination Information in Sindorim Station-
In, Sun-Ah ; Choe, Jong-Hoon ;
The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 15, issue 7, 2015, Pages 12~20
DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2015.15.07.012
The subway is one of the representative urban public transportation systems. Since its being opened in 1974, the Seoul Subway has been continually extended, and new lines are being added in the metropolitan and outskirt areas, even at present. As a result, the numbers of transfer stations and transfer sections have been significantly increased, making the usage of the subway system more and more complicated. In the transfer stations with big floating population and overlapped flows of traffic in the subway, passengers want their movements to be more precise and faster, without taking the wrong trains by mistake. Therefore, the visual information system for the subway inside the stations is extremely important. At the same time, the visual information system is required to be easy to understand and use, even if the passengers do not have previous experience of using the subway. In this research we studied the problems existing in the visual information system which is currently working in the subway system, and suggest the direction of the improvement of the subway service based on our studies. This research was mainly performed at Sindorim Station, one of the busiest stations in Seoul Subway with huge floating population and complex transfer sections. The purpose of this research is the investigation of behavioral and recognitive characteristics of passengers in the transfer sections through preceding research and qualitative analysis, to draw the direction for future improvement of the current system and suggest the improved experience of using the subway system.
A Two-tier Optimization Approach for Decision Making in Many-objective Problems
Lee, Ki-Baek ;
The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 15, issue 7, 2015, Pages 21~29
DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2015.15.07.021
This paper proposes a novel two-tier optimization approach for decision making in many-objective problems. Because the Pareto-optimal solution ratio increases exponentially with an increasing number of objectives, simply finding the Pareto-optimal solutions is not sufficient for decision making in many-objective problems. In other words, it is necessary to discriminate the more preferable solutions from the other solutions. In the proposed approach, user preference-oriented as well as diverse Pareto-optimal solutions can be obtained as candidate solutions by introducing an additional tier of optimization. The second tier of optimization employs the corresponding secondary objectives, global evaluation and crowding distance, which were proposed in previous works, to represent the users preference to a solution and the crowdedness around a solution, respectively. To demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach, decision making for some benchmark functions is conducted, and the outcomes with and without the proposed approach are compared. The experimental results demonstrate that the decisions are successfully made with consideration of the users preference through the proposed approach.

The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 15, issue 7, 2015, Pages 30~42
DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2015.15.07.030
In this paper, we propose a new skyline query processing scheme to enhance accuracy of query processing and communication cost in mobile P2P environments. The proposed scheme consists of three stages such as the pre-skyline processing, the query transmission range extension policy, and the continuous skyline query processing. In the pre-skyline processing, a peer selects the candidate filtering objects who have the potential to be selected. By doing so, the proposed scheme reduces the filtering cost when processing the query. In the query transmission range extension policy, we have improved the accuracy by extending the query transmission range. In addition, it can handle continuous skyline query by performing the monitoring after the first skyline query processing. In order to show the superiority of the proposed method, we compare it with the existing schemes through performance evaluation. As a result, it was shown that the proposed scheme outperforms the existing schemes.

The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 15, issue 7, 2015, Pages 43~56
DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2015.15.07.043
Amidst various efforts which have been made to revive a city, the potential discovery related to the development of public design based on copious cultural heritages is extremely significant. Therefore, in this study, qualitative researches were conducted based on bibliographic data and image materials centered on public design of Theme Park in Daechon-dong, Gwangju Metropolitan City. The case studies verifying the identity of Korean public design through countless numbers of research materials. However, it's necessary to pay attention to a common fact because it's essential to find the national legitimacy and regional identity by tiding over problems in standardized urban development through well-designed development plan for history, living and economy bloc among the regional traditional cultural assets while rejecting the meaning in an excessively broad sense. The spaces assigned with significance are cultural contents embedded with cultural original form of the region and there is room for creative development in order to generate city brand value and to activate the space. This study is significant in that the spatial interpretation of Daechon-dong's Theme Park and the methodology of semiotic spatial planning can not only be applied but also in that this study has demonstrated positive effects on space.

This paper will concentrates on martialarts acting system. I will sugest a kind of actor's training system for the safe method of action acting. In this study I solve the following problems. First, what is main factors to interfere with performer to act and how do they get rid of factors. Second, what is very economic and effective challenge to develope the new acting system for action acting performers. For this discussion I studied four parts. The first, I gives purpose and direction of the safe for martialarts actor. The second, I traces the development of contemporary idea of acting such as Stanislavsky and Meyerhold. The third I introduces Korean martialarts training system. The last I conclude which refer to effective action acting by result of training 'Korean traditional martialarts acting system'.
Analyses on Characteristics and Usage of Digital Game Viewpoint: Why do Games use Third-person Viewpoint more often than First-person Viewpoint?
Ryu, YeSeul ; O.Li, Hyung-Chul ; Kim, ShinWoo ;
The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 15, issue 7, 2015, Pages 75~83
DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2015.15.07.075
The viewpoint of a digital game is a prime factor that determines user immersion, and first-person viewpoint is known to produce greatest immersion. However, most games adopt third-person viewpoint rather than first-person viewpoint. This study analyzed the reason for the preference of third-person viewpoint. First, six viewpoints were defined by combining three viewpoints (first-, third-person, omniscient viewpoints) and two distances (proximal, distal) between camera and game character. Then 100 games which received high ratings during the past 10 years were sampled, and the frequencies of viewpoint choices and genres were analyzed. Overall, the results showed that games have strong preference for third-person viewpoint. However, preferred viewpoints differed depending on genres, for example, most shooting games used first-person, proximal viewpoint. This result could have arisen because both characteristics of a game and field of view have influenced choice of viewpoint. That is, many games adopt third-person viewpoint because developers consider not only user immersion but also scene visibility.

Upon ruling that two photographs of "Solsum(located in Samchuk city)" are not substantially similar, issues on the level of protection for the copyrighted photographs expecially on landscape, which appearance could be similar whoever takes, were raised. Accordingly, this study summarizes and suggests the standards of expression differentiating from idea on photographic works. The results are as such. Elements of expression on photographs are positioning of subject, framing, selection of camera angle, control of light's direction and quantity, length of exposure, speed of shutter, timing or posing of the shutter. kinds of emulsion, methods of development, and any other methods of creative and characteristic photography. On the other hand, elements of ideas of photographic works are theme, concept, feeling, appearance of objects, time or season of taking a picture, vantage point, choice of horizontal or vertical angle, etc. As a result, this study reconfirms that copyright law entitles photographers to copyright as to their minimal degree of creativity, not as to their sweat of brows.

Colors in the film can communicate with the audiences without a dialogue as deep as possible, and then colors make a audiences sympathy as a role playing like a main character. The movie that I chosen by this thesis is The mother(UK film, 2003). This movie is so powerful imagetelling movie I've ever seen in the meaning of tool as a character-narrative film. This imagetelling in the movie is so useful and powerful, and then image is more important than any other things in the movie as a narrative tool and storytelling.

DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2015.15.07.128
Going through rapid changes, the field of information technology (IT) has launched many innovative products. Some of those products have spread, forming a stable market, whereas others have disappeared. The purpose of the study is to purpose a theoretical model to show changes in the importance of competition factors over the three stages. Our study applied the innovation adoption stage model of the Innovation Diffusion Theory (IDT) to the industry life cycle of the Industry Life Cycle (ILC) Theory resulting in three stage of introduction, growth, and maturity, and defined a model of market characteristics according to time. By using the model, we analyzed the case of notebook computers and tablet and checked the fitness of the model. Results show that five competition factors worked differently according to time. In the introduction stage, relative functionality and relative playfulness are important competition factors. In the growth stage, compatibility is added to those two factors. In the last maturity stage, compatibility, complexity, and cost level are important competition factors.
Influence of the Change of Advertisement Policy in Broadcasting Industry
Roh, Dong-Ryul ;
The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 15, issue 7, 2015, Pages 138~147
DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2015.15.07.138
The primary focus of Korea's advertisement policy has been on the securing of stability in the market through building categorical entry barriers whenever a new broadcaster came into the market. But the recent contraction of the advertisement market is pressing the policy makers to lift the categorical barriers to create one large-enough market. This change in the policy and the market, in turn, is triggering heightened competition among drama producers to get advertisements, at times, even at the expense of cost efficiency. The market is supposed to search for its own equilibrium in principle. This means that players, who fall behind, should be left to die out and exit, and the patient policy to let the market function on its own should be institutionalized. Separately, the fee-based public broadcasters should be banned from running advertisements.

The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 15, issue 7, 2015, Pages 157~169
DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2015.15.07.157
This study focuses on Korea films of historical communication. Narrative analysis was conducted on the films in 2000s including
and <26 Years> that mainly have dealt with the 'Gwangju Democratization Movement'. As a result of the syntagmatic analysis, these films try to stabilize 'social imbalances' in the aspect of individuals and conceals issues of social structure. In addition, the result of paradigmatic analysis reveals that textual factors of 'active involvement of female characters', 'continuity of history through the survivors' demonstrate its strategies to publicize the historical truth. Consequently these films show its limitations that weakens historical meaning by placing unsolved problems of social structure as well as the love story. But rather than describing it as a history of the past, these films act as a catalyst to bring thins specific historical issue to our present lives and publicize it as a current issue. Therefore, the historical film not only allows current generation to remind to history but also to provide an opportunity to publicize the important issues of social structure in the present society.

The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 15, issue 7, 2015, Pages 181~192
DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2015.15.07.181
Nonverbal immediacy plays a key role in interpersonal communication, inducing closeness and another interaction. This case study investigates the nonverbal behaviors in Human-Robot Interaction(HRI) focusing on immediacy, and how they affect perception of a robot. The results show that nonverbal immediacy, such as nodding and leaning forward, affect perceived interactivity. Nonverbal immediacy can be interpreted their meaning clearly when verbal feedback or other communication channel reinforcing them. Also, touch is found to affect come up with similar ones to the robot, because it is associated with concrete and discrete context. People tend to apply social rules to the robot, but they are more open to the unfamiliar robot compared to strangers. The findings in this study provide future HRI studies with heuristic implications by showing a direction and clarifying principles for composition of verbal and nonverbal expression.

The Korean Housing Lease Act is special law of Civil Code and was enacted from March 5, 1981 as Law No. 3379 to guarantee the stability of residential life. And until January 6, 2015 there were 15 times revisions to protect the right of homeless people. However, it is true that many problems are exposed from enforcement. Because the processing without sufficient review of legislation. and it was enacted very quickly, so, at the part of opposing power that the Article 3 Paragraph 1 "if the housing tenant was delivered rental housing and finish the resident registration, from the day after even if the owner of the house was changed as third party tenant can resist with lease right". In addition, this provision made housing problems of the socially disadvantaged more seriously and the country did not made any way to protect this problems so many issues have been raised and a lot of disputes relating to Housing Lease. Therefore, in this paper derives a problem about opposing power of the Housing Lease Act for tenants of residential stability, and through the foreign legislation case, it propose the improvement to contribute to the residential stability realistically.

The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 15, issue 7, 2015, Pages 264~281
DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2015.15.07.264
Suicidal ideation has received much attention from both practitioners and researchers as Korean society becomes aging and individualistic. However, previous researches on the suicide ideation have focused on young generations instead of adults who seem to be more suffered from economic pressure and all kinds of exterior environments causing depression. Besides, there were research voids in the suicidal ideation area where depression was never taken into consideration. In this sense, we attempted to launch empirical studies on analyzing explanatory factors relevant to suicidal ideation in all the age groups by using KNHANES dataset from 2008~2012 years. Especially, we further analyzed KNHANES dataset to know how much depression affects suicidal ideation. Empirical results showed that depression is in a significant relationship with the suicidal ideation in all the demographic dimensions such as age, education, living area, etc.

From the era of feature phone to the current smart phone which bloomed Social Network Games(SNGs), mobile games have held the top position as killer contents of mobile market. Mobile game has many constraints such as specification of device, network status, and external environment. Based on common perspective of game research, these factors have negative influences on flow of user. Even with these opinions, most mobile gamers have felt satisfaction. To explain this phenomenon, our research focuses on the constraints. Referring to theoretical concepts, we attempt to clarify the relationship between game features and flow through survey methodology. Our finding shows that the constraints have a positive effect on flow even though it disaccords with previous studies. Therefore, we argue that users of mobile game have sense of satisfaction not a cognitive overload as discomforts.

The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 15, issue 7, 2015, Pages 389~402
DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2015.15.07.389
Due to tough competition among social network services, technological specification alone could not be an adoption factor by the users. Instead, emotional factors such as a brand image and feeling towards an SNS brand became important factors in service differentiation. This study examined Korean young users perception of brand personalities of three social network services, Facebook, Kakao Story, and Band. It also analyzed the influence of the perception of brand personality, brand-self-image congruence, and brand affect on brand recommendation to others. The authors conducted a survey of Korean college students. The results indicate that SNS users perceived three SNS's brand personalities differently, and the positive perception of an SNS service has a positive effect on brand recommendation. Brand personality, brand-self-image congruence, and brand affect combined determine brand recommendation. When the brand personality variable is statistically controlled, brand affect has strong effect on brand recommendation.

DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2015.15.07.403
Social media has recently become one of the primary tools for viral marketing as an effective advertising channel, in order to maximize effects of world-of-mouth through social media, it is very important to obtain customer experience-centric differentiated contents in offline. However, viral marketing is still being implemented mainly based on online channels because of the lack of effective services and methods to support social medial marketing in conjunction with offline. On that account, this study proposes O2O(Online to Offline) based social media marketing method allowing customers to connect their personal experience conveniently and easily in offline in which they voluntarily participate. Furthermore, this study aims to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method by analyzing the empirical cases thereof. This study would eventually contribute to the vitalization of social media marketing market by enabling customers to obtain personalized posts as connecting online to offline organically and also by allowing corporations to get an ample amount of useful CRM information for planning marketing strategies.

Lee, Ho Sun ;
The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 15, issue 7, 2015, Pages 428~435
DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2015.15.07.428
When I examined the corporate financing statistics in Korea, I have recognized that there are several trends of them. First, large enterprises use bank loan and direct financing like corporate bond as debt. Second, small and medium companies mainly use bank loan only. So I argue that there is sample selection bias in corporate debt choice and using sample selection methodology is more adequate when analysing the behavior in corporate debt choice. Therefore I have tested panel sample selection model, using the listed korean firm data from 1990 to 2013 and I have found that the panel sample selection model is appropriate.

The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 15, issue 7, 2015, Pages 436~448
DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2015.15.07.436
This study examined one of the contemporary financial aspects, the level of corporate cash holdings for the firms belonging to the chaebols in the Korean capital markets. Being accompanied by various alternative econometric methodologies such as static and dynamic panel data model, stepwise OLS, and Fama-Macbeth modelm this research extended the preceding Kim's study (2015) in anticipation of validating the results to identify any financial factors which may significantly affect the chaebol firms' cash reserves. Several financial characteristics such as CASHFLOW, MVBV, REINVEST, and AGENCY, were found to be statistically significant factors on the level corporate liquidity, along with CCC as cash conversion cycle in the models. It may be plausible that any outcomes of this study may be applied to enhance the efficiency of financial strategies of the chaebol firms on cash holdings, thereby expediting the development of the domestic capital markets status quo toward the advanced one in the market classification.

This study examined the associations among self-disclosure tendency, self-activities and friends' responses on Facebook, and perceived usefulness of Facebook in social networking. Sex differences were also examined. Results showed that participants' self-disclosure tendency was positively related to their activities in Facebook, which were strongly related to friends-activities. Self- and friends-activities significantly increased usefulness in social networking. Regarding sex differences, the relationships between self-disclosure tendency and self-activities and between self-activities and usefulness were stronger for men, while the relationship between friends-activities and usefulness was stronger for women. These results suggest women tend to value friends' responses more in assessing relational qualities than men in Facebook contexts.

Lim, Hyoung-Joo ;
The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 15, issue 7, 2015, Pages 477~488
DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2015.15.07.477
This study investigates the association between non-audit services and audit quality, using a sample of firms in which audit services and non-audit services are provided by a same audit firm. This study extends previous studies by separating auditors into Big4 and Non-Big4 audit firms as each group may have different incentives to impair their independence. According to the empirical results, audit quality, proxied by absolute value of discretionary accruals has significant negative association with non-audit service fee for Non-Big4 audit firms, but not for Big4 audit firms, suggesting that Non-Big4 audit firms may impair their independence with increased non-audit service fees. Non-Big4 audit firms are known to be relatively small and local firms that might be highly economically dependent upon a specific client firm whereas Big4 audit firms are not. This results may be of interest to regulators and capital market investors and standard setters who concern a recent trend of increasing non-audit services that are provided by an audit firm which also provides audit service at the same time.

Park, Kyung-Ja ;
The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 15, issue 7, 2015, Pages 489~499
DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2015.15.07.489
The purpose of this study is to identify factors affecting piracy of online digital contents, focusing on relative awareness of illegal duplications, compared to legal duplication. To do this, the current study integrates factors proposed in existing literature and the previous studies based on the theory of planned behavior and accesses them from cost-benefit point of view. Main findings are summarized as followed;- First, with regard to relative benefits gained by illegal duplication, it is shown that monetary and psychological utility have positive effects on attitudes and behaviors of illegal duplication. Particularly, it is found that monetary incentive is the main cause of illegal duplication as monetary gains are major factors affecting illegal duplication behaviors. Second, it is suggested that ethical cost is a definitive factor that has negative effects on illegal duplication behaviors while technological cost has also significant effects on illegal duplication behaviors. Third, it is confirmed that there is a significant relationship between attitudes and behaviors of illegal duplication. This result shows that an attitude to illegal duplication is antecedent of behaviors as the belief and the value regarding illegal duplication can lead actual behaviors.

DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2015.15.07.531
Benjamin, Lusht, and Shilling(1998) suggested that the level of deposit can be used as a tool to resolve the problem of adverse selection by the leaseholder under the circumstance of information asymmetry. In this respect, this research aims to verify how the level of deposit and monthly rent mitigate the problem of information asymmetry existing in the office market in Seoul. So far, the analysis of the office market in Seoul has been difficult due to the fixed rate of deposit and monthly rent. This research attempts to adopt the concept of occupancy cost, a global standard indicator that would replace the default risk of monthly payment for analyzing the market. As a result of a series of empirical analysis, the lessors tend to add about 9 percent of risk premium to the occupancy cost to hedge against the default risk of monthly payment. It allows for estimating at what extent one should reflect the leaseholder's default risk of monthly payment for operating deposit and monthly rent in the office building lease market.

In the period of spirit revolution, psychology for studying human mind is one of the important fields with humanities. To analyze for correct understanding of popularization of psychology, for future psychology research trends, and for correlation of the psychological sub-fields as a linker between natural and social sciences, we employed network technology and informatic algorithm to be more objective. By elucidating core key words from bipartate network that consists of terms and their explaining words in psychological glossary, we provide psychological contents for understanding psychology. As analyzing lots articles obtained from Korean Journal of Psychology and Annual Review of Psychology, it was possible to observe research trends of the psychological sub-fields. To analyze the correlation among sub-fields of the psychology, we extracted and compared title words of the articles that had published on Psychological Review over the past fifteen years. We also employed a pair-wise comparison matrix algorithm and then elucidated the correlation among sub-fields of the psychology. By this research, we expect to contribute not only providing information about popularization of psychology, analysis of research trends, and correlation among sub-fields of the psychology, but also providing convergent contents that conflate the psychology and the informatic technologies.

One of the issues with the textbooks pertinent to the current study is whether or not the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) factors have been dealt to satisfy students with different aptitudes in learning the core objectives of the lessons. This study develops a modified version of the UDL analysis criteria from the cross curricular criteria to language teaching and learning and uses it to analyze the sequence of digital English textbooks to investigate the descriptive statistics of the UDL factors in the new textbooks. The result shows that the textbook is designed most favorably to the students with the talent of linguistic aptitude and less favorably to the students with other types of aptitudes. The sequence analysis shows that sentence/word length and appearance of new words are incrementally sequenced as students advance upper grades. However, the syntactic complexity of middle school curves up steeply which is different from the elementary school textbooks. The UDL analysis will provide learning factors to consider when designing digital English textbooks to cover different aptitudinal groups.
