Recently, structure safety management techniques using cutting-edge technology(Displacement senor, sensor of acceleration) has emerged as an important issue owing to the aging of infrastructure such as bridge and building. In general, the structural monitoring system for structure safety management is based on IT technology and it is expensive to install. In this paper developed an image-based structure dynamic characteristic analysis system prototype to assess the damage of structure in a more cost-effective way than traditional structure health monitoring system. The inspector can take a video of buildings or other structures with digital camera or any other devices that is passible to take video, and then using NCC calculation for image processing technique to get natural frequency. This system is analysis of damage of the structure using a compare between the frequency response ratio and functions when problems are occurs send alarm to administrator. This system is easier to install and remove than previous monitoring sensor in economical way.

DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2016.16.03.022
As the number of aged population rapidly goes up, the cases of stroke and the related medical expenses continuously increase. The purpose of this study is to investigate the mortality of stroke patients based on CCI(Charlson Comorbidity Index) by utilizing the Korea National Hospital Discharge Injury Survey, analyzing the factors associated with the mortality of stroke patients. We analyzed 21,494 cases which are classified as the death of strokes aged over 20 years by using the Korea National Hospital Discharge Injury Survey between the year 2005 and 2010. In order to find out the mortality based on CCI and status of comorbidity, we used the technical statistics. We performed a logistic regression analysis to examine the reasons for the mortality of the strokes. We found that the independent variables for the influence of the mortality of strokes include age, type of insurance, residence urban size, size of hospital beds, the location of hospital, admission route, physical therapy, brain surgery, type of stroke, and CCI. This indicates that the effective monitoring on the age, types of stroke, comorbidity is needed. In addition to this, more medical support toward medicaid patients are needed, too. We believe that these results will be used positively for the evaluation of the stroke patients, providing the basic materials for the further research on the establishment of the health-related policy.

The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 16, issue 3, 2016, Pages 33~42
DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2016.16.03.033
Utilization of cultural contents is more and more increasing as it is believed to improve local problems and provide historical values. This kind of business is positive in terms of the fact that it attracts visitors into local areas and activate local commercial areas. Under this trend, the construction of specialized streets is required to be approached with first priority to solve problems of cities. So to speak, it's more important to solve intrinsic problems found in local communities and then approach cultural contents step-by-step rather than constructing new spaces with first priority. Moreover, cultural contents should accompany economic aspects which result in local community-friendly and sympathetically concentrated values. Under this sentiment, the efforts to suggest economic ripple effects for government local government's businesses using cultural contents are very important. This study analyzed how much economic ripple effects is yielded by reflecting cultural contents. As the result of analysis, specialized street with cultural contents applied are proved to be more concentrated on multiplier of expediting employment, income and tax and tourism industry than service industry. On the contrary to this, service industry showed more concentrated multiplier of expediting production, income, added values and chain reaction effect (coefficients for influence and sensitivity for front and rear side of tourism industry. Based on these results, construction of specialized streets with cultural contents applied is proved to help synergy effects for local economy.

The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 16, issue 3, 2016, Pages 43~51
DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2016.16.03.043
This paper presents the concept of "interactive teleprompter", which provides the user with interaction with oneself or other users for live television broadcasts or smart mirrors. In such interactive applications, eye contacts between the user and the regenerated image or between the user and other persons are important in handling psychological processes or non-verbal communications. Unfortunately, it is not straightforward to address the eye contact issues with conventional combination of normal display and video camera. To address this problem, we propose an "interactive" teleprompter enhanced from conventional teleprompter devices. Our interactive teleprompter can recognize the user's gestures by applying infra-red (IR) depth sensor. This paper also presents test results for a beam splitter which plays a critical role for teleprompter and is designed to handle both visual light for RGB camera and IR for Depth sensor effectively.

Many hidden aspects of society around the world that has been lurking as risk factors have been ultimately connected to disasters. Such connection did not just stop with massive damages to properties and loss of lives but became a serious social issue. Especially in the case for Korea, because the country has gone through abrupt economic growth which has resulted in rapid urbanization and expansion of economic scale, Korea has been caught in a vicious cycle of experiencing human and social calamities repeatedly. Due to the seriousness of such problem, there's been continued research in various fields for managing disasters, and the domain of knowledge has been expanding with complexity. The following study went beyond the perspectives of disaster prevention study, disaster prevention engineering and social sciences suggested from previous research directions in disaster and disaster prevention, and attempted an alternative research method by approaching from a service design perspective. During the process, the paper looked over the summary on disaster and service design. By applying it on disaster prevention projects, the research sets forth and discusses effective and practical disaster prevention service design. Through specific case studies, the research methodology applied was verified, and the purpose of the study was carried out in the perspective of real world applications different from textbook type discussions. It is expected that through the disaster prevention service design process and platform that were discovered during the research result, defining and understanding disaster prevention service design will be made apparent. Additionally, the research is expected to be used as a basic building block for building a visualized plan for tangible and intangible factors related to disasters before the disaster process through such proposed disaster prevention service design.

DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2016.16.03.072
There are various methods of developing latent fingerprints from evidence found at crime scenes. Crime scene investigators should choose appropriate techniques among them depending on the conditions of the evidences. In this study, we compared the three methods using forensic light sources to develop latent fingerprints on multi-colored surfaces. We selected the various samples according to color, shape and texture of the surfaces and developed the latent fingerprints using fluorescent powder, IR(Infrared) photography and Episcopic Co-axial Illumination. Fluorescent powder was highly effective on all surfaces. IR photography was also effective, but only on the not dark surfaces. Episcopic Co-axial Illumination was effective only on the flat and polished surfaces. Although fluorescent powder was fine regardless of the characteristics of the surfaces, IR photography was better on certain surfaces.
Does Market Performance Influence Credit Risk?
Lim, Hyoung-Joo ; Mali, Dafydd ;
The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 16, issue 3, 2016, Pages 81~90
DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2016.16.03.081
This study aims to investigate the association between stock performance and credit ratings, and credit rating changes using a sample of 1,691 KRX firm-years that acquire equity in the form of long-term bonds from 2002 to 2013. Previous U.S. literature is mixed with regard to the relation between credit ratings and stock price. On one hand, there is evidence of a positive relation between credit ratings and stock prices, an anomaly established in U.S. studies. On the other hand, the CAPM model suggests a negative relation between stock prices and credit ratings, implying that investors expect financial rewards for bearing additional risk. To our knowledge, we are the first to examine the relationship between stock price and default risk proxied by credit ratings in period t+1. We find a negative (positive) relation between credit ratings (risk) in period t+1 and stock returns in period t, suggesting that credit rating agencies do not consider stock returns as a metric with the potential to influence default risk. Our results suggest that market participants may prefer firms with higher credit risk because of expected higher returns.

The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 16, issue 3, 2016, Pages 116~124
DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2016.16.03.116
In this paper, we propose digital exhibition contents for the aquarium, especially 'Gyeongpo Lagoon Ecological Museum'. We try to plan appropriate media contents that can be mixed with the aquarium storytelling. The aquarium must have special spaces that are not related with an exhibition directly but are necessary for survival of fishes such as a water circulation room. We design the special spaces using media contents and let visitors feel that the whole aquarium is in the ocean. First of all, we investigate the aquarium currently under construction. And then, we propose the appreciate media platforms and plan individual content. We suggest 3 types of media platforms, 3D water projection, interactive games utilizing Kinect, and a fog screen. Moreover, we produce 2D drawing concepts, 3D modeling images, and virtual exhibitions in virtual reality for the representation of the location in which those platforms are installed and the media contents we plan. The pre-visualization is helpful for the media platform construction and is used as a rough sketch to producing an animation shown in the exhibition.

DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2016.16.03.125
Recently, many people switch from an open SNS like facebook to a closed SNS like Kakaostory to expect more empathetic responses. In this study, I derive the design factors that motivate empathetic responses in SNS. In particular, I focus on Kakaostory that is popular for women in their 30s and 40s. I conduct literature review and survey and find out the design factors and identified the type of photos that induce comments and feeling icons. While writing comments is influenced by the relationship with the poster and the contents, adding a feeling icons is affected by the states of the responders. The heavy users are more affected by the contents than by relationship. The photos with more responses have better image quality and capture situation better. The photos with more comments are cuter, brighter, and more positive. The photos with feeling icons only are visually sophisticated. This results can be useful to develop a design that induce empathetic responses.

DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2016.16.03.162
Xavier Dolan delves into maternal instinct and sexual identity and the attempt and experiment of his movies are not difficult to understand and not unfamiliar. He communicates with audience through pastiche and self-reflexivity, rather than disassembling and destruction of style and form of existing films. Pastiche is the intertextuality between familiar genres such as film, poem, fashion, music, painting, etc. His films shows the characteristics of postmodernism, which include genre over, de-subjectivity, interest in public culture, and representation of nostalgia. This study recognizes anew the present of postmodernism gradually going out of fashion and analyzes the characteristics of postmodernism and repeated motif in his movies. This study also analyzes Xavier Dolan's interest in social minority and allegorian characteristics through characters appearing in his movies.

DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2016.16.03.171
It is often reported that foreign tourists visiting Korea are not satisfied with dining in a Korean restaurant, and the reason is assumed that most of the Korean restaurants are targeting Koreans and operating in a traditional way; thus, this study suggests the need of a new type of Korean restaurant such as quick service restaurant, where foreign tourists could have Korean food in a more familiar way. It is attempted to examine foreign tourists' visit intention toward Korean quick service restaurant (QSR) applying the model of goal-oriented behavior (MGB). The survey was conducted with foreign tourists and total 275 data was gathered. Structural equation modeling was used for analysis. Among MGB variables, attitude, subjective norm, perceived behavioral control had significant effect on desire, while postive and negative anticipated emotions did not had significant effect. Also, involvement showed a significant moderating effect as positive anticipated emotion had much stronger effect on desire in a high involvement group.

Gu, Ji-Hyang ; Shin, Dong-Hee ;
The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 16, issue 3, 2016, Pages 184~197
DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2016.16.03.184
This study investigates human-robot interactions in a museum environment. Unlike robots in movies, robots in real life do not have 'personality,' but instead have a specific purpose and function. This research is primarily about the assignment of specific and appropriate personalities to robots in different contexts. Methods by which a definite personality can be imparted on a robot are discussed in this research. Previous research has addressed attempts to assign a robot personality based on the task context. However, the discussion of robot personality is incomplete. Therefore, we assumed that a robot's character was dependent on the characteristics of its location of use. We planned a
comparison of various robot personalities, i.e., introverted or extroverted paired with either a traditional museum or a process-oriented experiential experience. Based on Schmitt's (1999) strategic experiential modules, experiential factors were derived for each set of conditions. To achieve the objectives of the research, theoretical and empirical research were conducted simultaneously. The software JMP 9 was used to verify the research model and hypotheses.

The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 16, issue 3, 2016, Pages 198~209
DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2016.16.03.198
The Movie, A Werewolf Boy, describes metaphorically the hidden desire of female audience. The majority of stories about wolves contains fear of wolves inherited by and learned through human history struggling with the nature. They also shows punishment and reward toward wolves as a cultural symbol of evil. This study focuses on analyzing wolves as a metaphor of hidden original desire rather than as a subject of fear and punishment. Soon-Hee's experience with a wolf-boy in her period of puberty and her remembering the experience in her old age expresses her original sexual desire. The movie, A Werewolf boy does not directly deal with sexual content. However, SU-NI's growth through the interaction with the wolf-boy informs us Freudian theory of sex and the mechanism of sexual desire and its repression or realization. Brun Bettelheim's "Little Red Riding Hood" was used to analyze Soon-hee's desire during her puberty and Clarissa Estes's "Women Who Run with the Wolves" were used to explore SU-NI's wildness forgotten in her elderlyhood. This study shows in the process of wolf boy's transformation from biological being into social being awakened the hidden and original desire of woman.

Recently, as service design was introduced to improve the quality of public service, there have been many attempts to improve various public service. In the process, various stakeholders including general citizens are participating in the design improvement activity through a method of design service but the parties are facing a difficulty in the progress because of a limitation of time and budget and a lack of professionalism among the member while the parties are planning the process and activities based on the professional service design method. Persona method that is usually used in the process of service design is encountering a limitation as well. Also, there are continuous attempts to understand the limitation of persona and apply an alternative research method among service and UX designers. For this reason, this thesis is to recognize the limitation in deduction method of traditional persona and suggests a fast and economical production method of Rapid Persona speaking for the goal of users and overcoming the limitation. Furthermore, by applying the suggested method of making Rapid Persona to an actual public service design project of National Statistical Office, the test through an empirical study was conducted. This was conducted with the purpose of progressing a discussion in the respect of actual application beyond a banal discussion. Through the research method suggested in this study, it is expected to overcome the limitation of time and a lack of professionalism and, based on these, can be used in the process of various service design and UX design as establishing persona in a fast and easy way.

-DMSA planar scan that can analyze the functions of kidney quantitatively provides less information on a lesion than tomography scanning. Therefore, this study applied a high sensitivity all-purpose collimator that is sensitive to photonic signals to
-DMSA and carried out a clinical scan with single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT). And diagnostic accuracy and time requirement of were analyzed to know the clinical usefulness of the applied scanning method. 10 subjects were intravenously injected with radiopharmaceutical product (1.0-1.2 MBq/kg) and scanned by a gamma camera with planar scanner (high resolution (HR)-mode,
, 50 kcts/view, 4 image) and SPECT (HR / high sensitive (HS)-mode,
, step and shoot,
, variable sec/angle, total 64 frame, OSEM reconstruction), respectively. The collected data was compared with an analysis program. The results showed that HS-mode SPECT detected total counts 1.8-5.6 times more than planar scan. Relative renal function evaluated based on the counts was not significantly different by two scanning methods (p=0.96) and it turned out that test time was shortened by 39% when HS-mode SPECT was used. Therefore, SPECT using HR, HS-mode collimator could analyze renal function more quantitatively than using planar scan and the former could diagnose the location information of a lesion more accurately than the latter as well as shortened test time requirement, which demonstrated the clinical usefulness of
-DMSA renal SPECT using high sensitivity all purpose collimator.

DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2016.16.03.232
Subtitles in entertainment programs have extended the roles from providing additional explanation and complementary sound effect to maximizing amusement and impression as the type which triggers the audience's interest. This study examined the characteristics of the subtitles and the effects on the audiences, mainly focused on
of JTBC. Based on the result of the content analysis, the interested subtitles are continuously presented in each episode (10~20%) compared to the proportion of the total captions. Producers have repeatedly used the nickname of the cast members to construct and reinforce the character of them. The text analysis shows that the audience's perception about the cast is mainly influenced by the subtitles. The producers intentionally use the subtitles and subjectively intervene in the entertainment programs. The subtitles have a major effect on the audience's perception and image formation. Producers should be more prudent about their use of subtitles and viewers, on the other hand, must interpret the meaning of subtitles, as active information consumers.

DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2016.16.03.288
As the computer becomes pervasive in everyday life, the programming arises as an essential technique. To support the education of programming, Republic of Korea has launched a plan to develop the official courses of programming by 2018. However, the programming education in Korea tends to be difficult and the students easily lose their concentration since most of programming languages are based on English. This paper proposes a Korean programming language called Saesark to promote the effective programming education for Korean students. Saesark has been developed based on Java, which supports the object-oriented programming and the lambda expressions. In order to evaluate the educational suitability of Saesark, we compared it with other Korean programming languages in three respects: syntactic features, IDE support, and error messages in Korean. According to the comparison, Saesark is revealed more suitable than other languages. Specifically, the IDE features and the error messages in Korean are expected to be mostly valuable in educating novice programmers.

Recently in domestic market, the telecommunication and appliance companies actively provide IoT home service through their dedicated smart device and communication network. But because their service should use only their own devices and be payed by monthly, it does not satisfy user's needs. So, users want device and service environment that can be easily configured according to user needs. Therefore, in this paper, we propose IoT home service environment architecture and ACOME(Auto-Configuration of MQTT and REST) mechanism. The proposed architecture consists of IoT platform and IoT home gateway. And the ACOME provides the automatic registration using DPWS function and interface construction using MQTT. This implements as a library for open-source hardware such as Arduino that is easy to get on the market. So the user easy to make own IoT device. Finally, we provide performance evaluation about service and device discovery between ACOME and DPWS.

DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2016.16.03.305
Perceptions of organizational politics(POPs) have stress-based effect as job demand and lead to employee's negative attitudes and behaviors. According to job demand resource model, burnout develops when high job demand deplete employee's resources, which lead employees to low levels of motivation and high levels of cynicism and frustration. Currently, in studying the relationship between POPs and burnout there is a lack of researches on certain settings and conditions. The present study examined a model in which relationship between POPs and burnout was mediated by psychological need satisfaction. And also, this study tested moderating role of psychological capital between POPs and need satisfaction. A total of 220 employees in telco and electronic manufacturing company in South Korea participated in this study. The result of this study showed that need satisfaction works as mediating variable between POPs and burnout and psychological capital had moderating effect between POPs and need satisfaction. This study proposes a new framework of POPs by examining linking mechanism of need satisfaction and psychological capital. The results of this study provide practical insight to HR practitioners and business leaders.

The objective of this study is to identify the secular trend in age at menarche and to investigate the factors influence the early menarche(<12 years old) among Korean middle and high school girls. We analyzed data from the Korean Youth Risk Behavior Web-based Survey(KYRBWS) 2006-2014. This study was a descriptive study of 216,917 Korean middle and high school girls born between 1988 and 2002. Linear trends test performed to assess the trend age at menarche and percentage of early menarche. Multiple logistic regression analysis was to assess the risk factors influence the early menarche. Mean age at menarche decreased from
years for middle and high school girls born 1988 to
years for those born 2002(p for trends<.001). Percentage of early menarche increased from 19.7% to 25.2% between 1988 and 2002(p for trends<.001). Living in city, higher stress level, short sleep duration, and higher body mass index were associated with an early menarche among middle and high school girls(all p<.001). We found that age at menarche is still falling in the Korean adolescents, and it need intervention strategies to control the early menarche.

DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2016.16.03.346
This research examines the effect of family member in board of directors. In Korea, the ownership and management of a firm is not thoroughly separated and most of firms are managed by controlling family. These family officers have same intent with family CEOs who identify themselves with the firm and want to hand over it to their descendants. Thus, family officers will influence positively on firm performance. Besides, the moderating effect of professional CEO on the above relation will be also positive. It is because professional CEO will be curbed by family officers in board of directors. Under this condition, the potential self-interest seeking behavior will be minimized and the specialty of professional CEO will be manifested. 2,456 firm-year panel data are gathered in manufacturing listed firms from 2004 to 2010 and the result suggests that hypotheses are supported.

The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 16, issue 3, 2016, Pages 366~375
DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2016.16.03.366
This study aims to investigate the impact of total, native-born, and foreign-born employment rates on the increases of GDP and per capita GDP for 24 OECD countries out of 34 countries depending on data availability. The panel data analysis is formed by a fixed-effects model which allows dummy variable in it to permit the intercept term to vary over time-series and cross-sectional units. Empirical evidences obtained by simple and multiple panel regressions reveal that the contribution to increasing of GDP by foreign-born employment is obviously lower than the one by native-born employment. And, native-born labor is substituted by foreign-born labor. It also has to be mentioned that the labor is playing a key role in increasing in national income. And, therefore, labor-related policy should be concerned on decreasing in labor productivity and segmentation of labor market resulted from inflow of foreign labor. It means that labor-related policy has to take care of not only the magnitude, but also the quality of foreign-born labor.

Nam, Yoonsung ;
The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 16, issue 3, 2016, Pages 439~446
DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2016.16.03.439
This research examines the effect of outside director system which has been legislated after financial crisis in Korea. Outside director system is based on agency theory which assumes that a manager is selfish and opportunistic in situation where ownership and management of a firm is separated. In this situation, outside director system has an important function to monitor and keep in check a manager. Thus, we examined that outside director system works as a monitoring mechanism in Korea. And we tested that above effect is weakened in family CEO firms where it is different from assumption of agency theory in Korea. According to empirical result with 282 sample firm, it is confirmed that outside director system reduces agency cost. In family CEO firms, however, this agency cost-reducing effect becomes weak. This result suggests that outside director system needs be cautiously managed without focusing on only monitoring function.

The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 16, issue 3, 2016, Pages 447~465
DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2016.16.03.447
This paper investigated main determinants of paid-VOD user satisfaction and re-purchasing intention in IPTV platform. The findings showed that 'perceived system quality' was the significant antecedent variable influencing 'perceived usefulness' and 'perceived cost'. Meanwhile, 'perceived content quality' had the insignificant effect on 'perceived cost, while strongly and positively affecting 'perceived playfulness'. Regarding the relative size effect on the relationship between the belief variables and re-purchasing intention, content quality, cost, usefulness and playfulness were higher in the order, implying that functional benefits, like price and quality is the most crucial factor facilitating re-purchasing paid-VOD. Likewise, several variables associated with user characteristics and situation were employed as moderating variables to examine their impact on the process of formation of belief, satisfaction and intention. We found that there were distinct differences in value cognition and satisfaction level among users, depending on IPTV acceptance period, paid-VOD purchasing frequency, age and income level.

DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2016.16.03.488
Given the potential of mobile applications to create new learning opportunities beyond the prevalent use of digital textbooks and Internet lectures, this study aims to derive types and themes of mobile application content that can be effectively integrated with the school curricula. Twenty primary school teachers participated in this study that examines teachers' perceptions about the advantages and disadvantages of printed and digital textbooks' modality, the advantages and disadvantages of mobile learning, and the themes relevant to develop mobile applications. Findings indicate that it is necessary to develop activity-centered applications for vertical use rather than theme-centered applications for horizontal use. In addition, while most ideas derived from teachers center on multimedia access, there was lack of ideas that leverage the affordances of mobile devices for collaborative interaction and location-awareness. Lastly, to promote the diffusion of mobile learning in school environments, this study suggests the need to overcome teachers' epistemology that perceives mobilization against inquiry activities.

The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 16, issue 3, 2016, Pages 676~693
DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2016.16.03.676
Although the methodology and models to assess the economic value of technology assets such as patents are being presented in various ways, there does not exist a structured assessment model which enables to objectively assess a database property's value, and thus there is a need to enhance the application feasibility of practical purposes such as licensing of DB assets, commercialization transfer, security, etc., through the establishment of the valuation model and the life-cycle decision logic. In this study, during the valuation process of DB assets, the size of customer demand group expected and the amount of demand, the size and importance of data sets, the approximate degree of database' contribution to the sales performance of a company, the life-cycle of database assets, etc. will be analyzed whether they are appropriate as input variables or not. As for most of DB assets, due to irregular updates there are hardly cases their life-cycle expires, and thus software package's persisting period, ie. 5 years, is often considered the standard. We herein propose the life-cycle estimation logic and valuation models of DB assets based on the concept of half life for DB usage frequency under the condition that DB assets' value decays and there occurs no data update over time.
