Trade portal site is one of the tools which make it possible for small and medium-sized enterprises(SMEs) to manage international trade activities more efficiently by using the newest information and telecommunication technology. So Korean SMEs should utilize trade portal sites more actively to promote global competitive power. Based on the theory of service quality and existing researches related to using information technology, this paper analyzed the primary factors which affect user's utilization satisfaction in using trade portal sites. According to the results of the empirical study on actual users of the representative trade portal sites by multiple regression analysis, the primary factors, such as service quality, government policy and cost factor have affected user's utilization satisfaction in using trade portal sites. And user's utilization satisfaction have positive effect on continuous using intention. These research results will provide many useful insights to trade portal site managers, e-trade system developers and government policy makers.
Impact of Environmental-Educated Children on Their buying behaviors and Retroactive-Socialized Parents
The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 4, issue 3, 2004, Pages 41~51
The objectives of this study is to suggest marketing strategies directed of retroactive-socialized parents who have environmental-educated children at school. For this purpose, this study based on the consumer socialization agent such as family and demographic variables were studied. The scope of this study includes attitudes toward price and advertising, and interests related to environmental problems and environmental-products preference. As a result, The parents of environmental-educated children get much more environmental information and show favorable buying behaviors for environmental-products. Most of parents who get environmental information from children educated at school show favorable attitude towards the advertising and also show more preference to environmental-products and more frequent communication among family members. Parents who have environmental-educated children were insensitive to price, more consciousness about environmental problem and flexible to change in their buying behaviors. In conclusion, This study shows that behaviors of children had a significant influence on buying behavior of parents.
A Password-Authenticated Key Distribution Method Using Threshold PKC
The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 4, issue 3, 2004, Pages 53~60
In this paper we present user authentication and key distribution using threshold PKC(Public Key Cryptosystem), which is secure against the dictionary attack. The n servers hold a t-out-of-n sharing of the dealer's secret key. When the server authenticate a user, at least f of them cooperate they can reconstruct password verifier.
Image Watermarking using Wavelet Transform and Human Visual System
The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 4, issue 3, 2004, Pages 61~70
As multimedia data and their applications are rapidly distributed on the Web, the research on watermark insertion and integrity assurance vigorously increases. In this paper, Discrete Wavelet Transformation dissolves an original image into the three level of low, middle, and high bandwidths. Human Visual System with the significant coefficients extracted from the middle obtains enhanced image quality and robustness using watermark insertion. Experimental results show that various attacks cannot destroy pre-inserted watermark and recovered image is of good quality by measuring PSNR.
IT-based Technology An Efficient Global Buffer Management ,algorithm for SAN Environments
The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 4, issue 3, 2004, Pages 71~80
In distributed file-systems, cooperative caching algorithm which owns the data cached at each node jointly is used to reduce an expense of disk access. Cooperative caching algorithm is the method that increases a cache hit-ratio and decrease a disk access as it holds the cache information of distributed systems in common and makes cache larger virtually. Recently, several cooperative caching algorithms decrease the message costs by using approximate information of the cache and increase the cache hit-ratio by using local and global cache fields dynamically. And they have an advantage that increases the whole field hit-ratio by sending a replaced buffer to the idle node on buffers replacement in order to maintain the replaced cache in the cache field. However the wrong approximate information deteriorates the performance, the consistency maintenance goes to great expense to exchange messages and the cost that manages Age-information of each node to choose the idle node increases. In this thesis, we propose a cooperative cache algorithm that maintains correct cache information, minimizes the maintenance cost for consistency and the management cost for buffer Age-information. Also, we show the superiority of our algorithm through the performance evaluation.
Multi-Dimensional Vector Approximation Tree with Dynamic Bit Allocation
The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 4, issue 3, 2004, Pages 81~90
Recently, It has been increased to use a multi-dimensional data in various applications with a rapid growth of the computing environment. In this paper, we propose the vector approximate tree for content-based retrieval of multi-dimensional data. The proposed index structure reduces the depth of tree by storing the many region information in a node because of representing region information using space partition based method and vector approximation method. Also it efficiently handles 'dimensionality curse' that causes a problem of multi-dimensional index structure by assigning the multi-dimensional data space to dynamic bit. And it provides the more correct regions by representing the child region information as the parent region information relatively. We show that our index structure outperforms the existing index structure by various experimental evaluations.
Decision of Adaptive Threshold Value Using Histogram in Differential Image
The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 4, issue 3, 2004, Pages 91~97
Difference image scheme is widely used for motion estimation in moving object tracking system. This scheme contains a binarization step which segments image into background and moving object regions, referring to threshold value. In this paper, we propose a decision algorithm of tracking the threshold value with a differential image. The key idea is analyzing the histogram of the differential image. In addition we evaluate the performance of this method in comparison with conventional scheme. As an experimental result with 60 images, it is found that threshold by the proposed algorithm is very close to optimal threshold selected manually
Optimal Learning Rates in Gradient Descent Training of Multilayer Perceptrons
The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 4, issue 3, 2004, Pages 99~105
This paper proposes optimal learning rates in the gradient descent training of multilayer perceptrons, which are a separate learning rate for weights associated with each neuron and a separate one for assigning virtual hidden targets associated with each training pattern Effectiveness of the proposed error function was demonstrated for a handwritten digit recognition and an isolated-word recognition tasks and very fast learning convergence was obtained.
Face Recognition Method using Geometric Feature and PCA/LDA in Wavelet Domain
The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 4, issue 3, 2004, Pages 107~113
This paper improved the performance of the face recognition system using the PCA/LDA hybrid method based on the facial geometric feature and the Wavelet transform. Because the previous PCA/LDA methods have measured the similarity according to the formal dispersion, they could not reflect facial boundaries exactly In order to recover this defect, this paper proposed the method using the distance between eyes and mouth. If the difference of the measured distances on the query and the training images is over the given threshold, then the method reorders the candidate images according to energy feature vectors of eyes, a nose, and a chin. To evaluate the performance of the proposed method the computer simulations have been performed with four hundred facial images in the ORL database. The results showed that our method improves about 4％ recognition rate over the previous PCA/LDA method.
Case Study for Fingerprint ID Doorlock Design Development
The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 4, issue 3, 2004, Pages 115~123
This study suggests the output of the fingerprint doorlock design development through the structured methodology of concept selection in the process of design development, after characterizing the doorlock product itself. All of the early phases of product development are very important on eventual product success. Concept selection is the process of evaluating concepts with respect to customer needs and other criteria, comparing the relative strength and weaknesses of the concepts, and selecting one or more concepts for further investigation or development. To obtain the ideal concept o( new product, this work used a two-stage concept selection methodology which consist of concept screening and concept scoring. As a result, this study represents the fixed design rendering for mass production.
The Detection of Slanted Car License Plate Region
The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 4, issue 3, 2004, Pages 125~130
This paper proposes a method of the car license plate recognition from digital camera image. Lots of technology advancement has been accomplished for the least several years. The key issue for recognition rate improvement has been the extraction of correct area on the plate. In the previous studies, the information from an edge or an color on a plate hasn't been used but some declination also taken into account in most cases due to the difficulty of area extraction on a tilted plate The proposed method focuses on transforming a slant plate image to the normalized form to be recognized. It shows good robustness on situations defined by a variety of locations, slants and heights of the license plate, because it detects the edge of license plate by using both the color information and linear regression method. The computer simulation shows that the proposed method records 92％ detection rates of license plate and can recognize characters of slant plate with about 50 degrees
