Dialogue speech corpora that contain sufficient dialogue speech features are needed for performance assessment of a spoken language dialogue system. And labeling information of dialogue speech corpora plays an important role for improvement of recognition rate in acoustic and language models. In this paper, we examine the methods by which labeling information of dialogue speech corpora can be structured. More specifically, we examined how to represent features of dialogue speech in a structured document based XML and how to design the repository system of the information.
A Study of E-mail and Personal Homepage as a Marketing Promotion Tool in the Hotel Industry

With the help of information technology the number of email users and personal home page owners are increasing. Marketers have much interest in using the email and personal home pages as a marketing promotion tool which can provide potential customers with messages they want to send. Marketers can facilitate the promotion efforts once if the profiles of potential customers' information can be databased by sending proper messages to the targeted market. Because of the merit of email and personal home page hotel firms are expected to adopt the information applications in their promotions for customers. This study proposes the Possibilities of email and personal home pages as a marketing promotion tool in the hotel industry and discusses problems to be overcome.
Case Study of Digital Restoration of Korean Traditional Monsters

This study is aimed that reappearance and restoration of Korean tradition monster's original shape be able to contribute in scenario material development which is filled with history, culture and long imagination of our country. As for method of this study, it is on the basis of literature investigation in history, tale, folk-tale etc. and expert's research, and also restored 50 items of Korean tradition monster in digital way. Study finding is as following. First, prescribed scope of Korean tradition monster including god, ghost, bogy and animal. Second, Korean tradition monster's pattern is classified with S degrees and 4 classes to according to grade of rank and appearance place. Third, each of 50 traditional monsters which are usable to scenario substance development was produced with graphic image and flash animation. Fourth, suggested idea for material development of cultural contents industry as like game and character based on each monster's story. Expect the developed result production from this study to be used as a resource of elevating in comprehension forward to our cultural tradition, to be used as a unique material in field of culture contents industry of game, character, cartoon and movie etc.
Traffic Gathering and Analysis Algorithm for Attack Detection

In this paper, a traffic trend analysis based SNMP algorithm is proposed for improving the problem of existing traffic analysis using SNMP. The existing traffic analysis method has a vulnerability that is taken much time In analyzing by using a threshold and not detected a harmful traffic at the point of transition. The method that is proposed in this paper can solve the problems that the existing method had, simultaneously using traffic trend analysis of the day, traffic trend analysis happening in each protocol and MIB object analysis responding to attacks instead of using the threshold. The algorithm proposed in this paper will analyze harmful traffic more quickly and more precisely; hence it can reduce the damage made by traffic flooding attacks. When traffic happens, it can detect the abnormality through the three analysis methods previously mentioned. After that, if abnormal traffic overlaps in at least two of the three methods, we can consider it as harmful traffic. The proposed algorithm will analyze harmful traffic more quickly and more precisely; hence it can reduce the damage made by traffic flooding attacks.
Implementation of Clinical Microbiology Images CAI System Using Web

The number of development in educational software is currently decreasing despite rapid improvement in computer technology. This is partly due to the fact that the current software relies on the conventional hypermedia method or on the hierarchical method, both of which have inherent limitations. To compensate their limitations while keeping their merits, a hybrid method called the structured hypermedia link method has recently been proposed in the literature. It has been found that the structured hypermedia link method is far superior than the conventional methods in terms of educational effectiveness because it can help a learner to search various data by navigating between the study topics on his own while maintaining his level of cognitively overloaded stress to the minimum. The clinical microbiology laboratories were chosen as the candidate site for this study because its educational system has not been standardized and has been relying heavily on the personal experience. In this study, the hypermedia link method was applied to the development of an education system for the image analysis in clinical microbiology laboratories. For this purpose, a web-based computer aided instruction(CAI) program was designed to systematically organize the Gram stain method based on the standardized image data. In the future, CAI program must be intended to educate for beginner and developed to accept for variable knowledge. And it will be useful program for technicians in case of applying various examinations based Gram stain method of this study.
Design and Implement of Collaborative Learning System for Web Based Problem Based Learning

There have been a lot of studies on problem based instruction and collaborative learning environment, but there is a lack of the studies on a system that offers a collaborative learning environment for problem based instruction. Thus I developed and applied a collaborative instruction system for web based problem based instruction. The system was comprised of the collaborative instruction room and the problem based instruction room so that the students could solve the problems by groups through collaborative instruction. The developed system was applied to the actual learning. As a result, the system contributed to the students' improvement in academic achievements, drew a high degree of responses from them, and had positive effects on their affective domain.
A Study on Individual Pitch Pulse using FIR-STREAK Filter in Speech Coding Method

for female voice respectively. This method has the capability of being applied to many fields, such as speech coding, speech analysis, speech synthesis and speech recognition.
A Secure Electronic Payment System in Intelligent Transportation Systems Using the Dedicated Short Range Communications

Dedicated Short Range Communications(DSRC) as a prominent communications candidate for Intelligent Transportation Systems(ITS) have been developed to support ITS applications such as value-added information service, e-commerce, electronic toll payment, etc. These various applications associated with electronic payment through unsecure communication channel of DSRC suffer from security threats. To ensure secure payment, we have adopted appropriate cryptographic mechanisms including encipherment, authentication exchange and digital signature. The cryptographic mechanisms require to use cryptographic keys established between two communication entities. In this paper, we propose a secure electronic payment system which is designed to have some functions for strong authentication, encryption, key agreement, etc. Especially, we adopt domestic developed cryptographic algorithms such as EC-KCDSA and SEED for digital signature and block cipher, respectively. We can show those mechanisms are appropriate for the secure electronic payment system for ITS services under the DSRC wireless environment in aspects of constrained computational resource use and processing speed.
Lips Detection by Probability Map Based Genetic Algorithm

In this paper, we propose a probability map based genetic algorithm to detect lips from portrait image. The existing genetic algorithm used to get an optimal solution is modified in order to get multiple optimal solutions for lips detection. Each individual consists of two chromosomes to represent coordinates x, y in space. Also the algorithm introduce a preserving zone in the population, a modified uniform crossover, a selection without individual duplication. Using probability map of H, 5 components, the proposed algorithm has adaptability in the segmentation of objects with similar colors. In experiments, we analyzed relationships of primary parameters and found that the algorithm can apply to the detection of other ROIs easily
Design and Implementation of Web Mail Integration System Using XML

Web-Mail Services are implemented with SMTP and POP3 in these days. These web mail services provide not only the basic sending and receiving functions but also additional functions for user. However, the sent and received data are stored in the web mail server. So general web mail users can't process their mail data if they have not access ID for the web mail server. In this paper, we design and implement WMIS (Web Mail Integration System) using XML. In the proposed system, mail data and user's environments in the old web mail system are transformed into XML documents and inserted into database. In order to store XML data into database, we use dynamic document processing method and analyze XML file by record unit. When the users change their mail accounts, they easily can establish the web environments and their mail data. Because the transformed XML document is converted into WML easily, the WMIS can reduce development cost, labors and time.
Implementation of an Extended Service Data Aggregator Service Component-based on OGSA

This paper describes main characteristics of Grid Services based on OGSA and a service component for aggregating service data element. In order to build a Grid Service for SOA, it needs to consider a systematic approach from the high-level software architecture of a system that describes the main system components and their interactions. The purpose of this paper is to design and implement an extended service data aggregator service. To provide reliable aggregating service for service data elements, which is running under wide area environment like Internet, the aggregator service is operated asynchronously by notification mechanism.

Performance Analysis of Cellular IP using Combined Cache and Improved Adaptive Semi-soft Handoff Method

Existing Cellular IP increases the network traffic load, packet loss and handoff latency because of duplicate packet. In this paper, we propose using a Combined Cache that unites a pasing cache with a routing cache and a Improved Adaptive Semi-soft handoff that minimizes to occur the duplicate packet. As a computer simulation, we consider packet loss, handoff latency and traffic load in network. In proportion the number of nodes, mobile hosts and downlinks of node in access network increased, the proposed method is largely improved in comparison with existing Cellular If that uses semi-soft handoff.
Design and Implementation of VoIP Equipment including Telephone Function for Home Gateway Connection

Internet is absolutely contributed to information technology revolution nowadays. Internet services such as voice and data, etc. are provided home or small office via home gateway. The development of communication equipment via home gateway is implemented rapidly, and its product various. This paper presents the design and implementation of the VoIP equipment including the telephone function based on the embedded environment and being connected to the home gateway and the PC because of taking 2-ethernet LAN ports. As developing environment, the STLC1502 developed at ST Microelectronics as single chip solution, VxWorks as RTOS, and C language as coding mechanism are used. The verification of the developed systems for the voice test is carried out for the gatekeeper via Internet. The performance parameter is considered as the call processing capacity measuring the time of the call setup and clearing, and the data processing capacity for the file transfer. As a call setup and clearing is about 95ms, the call processing capacity is about 10 calls per second. The data processing capacity is 5.7Mbps in case of file transfer of server and client environment. Therefore the performance result is satisfied in the aspect of the call processing time and the data transfer time in Internet.
Korean Sentence Boundary Detection Using Memory-based Machine Learning

This paper proposes a Korean sentence boundary detection system which employs k-nearest neighbor algorithm. We proposed three scoring functions to classify sentence boundary and performed comparative analysis. We uses domain independent linguistic features in order to make a general and robust system. The proposed system was trained and evaluated on the two kinds of corpus; ETRI corpus and KAIST corpus. As experimental results, the proposed system shows about
recall rate even though it was trained on relatively small corpus.
Indexing Moving Objects with Real-Time Updates

In this paper, we propose the index structure supporting the future position retrievals with efficiently updating continuous positions of moving objects in location based services. For reducing update costs of moving objects, our index structure directly accesses to the leaf node with moving objects using secondary index structure and performs bottom up update when node information is changed. Positions of moving objects are stored in primary index structure. In primary index structure, the split information similar to kd-tree is stored to internal node for increasing node's fanout. And the proposed index structure supports the future position retrievals using velocity of moving objects in the child node.
Performance Analysis of Improved Movement-based Location Registration and Selective Paging Scheme

An efficient mobility management for mobile stations plays an important role in mobile communication networks. In this paper, we intend to improve the performance of the movement-based location update scheme which is simple to implement and shows good performance. The basic idea used in the proposed location update scheme is to avoid the location update if the mobile subscriber moves around the cell where the last location update was performed. This Is made possible by utilizing the simple movement history information. The performance of the proposed scheme is evaluated and compared with the movement-based location update scheme through simulation. The simulation results show that the proposed location update scheme provides the better performance compared with the movement-based location update scheme by minimizing the unnecessary location updates.
Pre-processing Method for Face Recognition Robust to Lightness Variation; Facial Symmetry

In this paper. we propose a shaded recognition method using symmetric feature. When the existing PCA is applied to shaded face images, the recognition rate is decreased. To improve the recognition rate, we use facial symmetry. If the difference of light and shade is greater than a threshold value, we make a mirror image by replacing the dark side with the bright side symmetrically Then the mirror image is compared with a query image. We compare the performance of the proposed algorithm with the existing algorithms such as PCA, PCA without three eigenfaces and histogram equalization methods. The recognition rate of our method shows
with the excellent result.
Application of Radio Frequency Microwave Technique for Glucose Detection

Radio frequency (RF) microwave can be used to predict glucose concentration in a sample. This paper presents preliminary results in determining the concentration by measuring relative permittivity in the solutions of distilled water, saline, human serum, and human blood containing glucose. It was shown that the microwave method has larger penetration depth of about 100times of NIR, than NIR technique in measuring glucose concentration for the tissue like a human muscle. The larger penetration depth of the method has advantages because it is more useful to detect glucose in a human body non-invasively. In the experiments, sensitivity for detecting glucose concentration in blood solutions was almost 57mg/dl at the frequency of approximately 5.8GHz.
AMBA-based LCD controller design and implementation

In this paper, we have designed an LCD controller based on AMBA. Normally display systems using the LCD are adopted independent bus architecture for high speed data access. Proposed LCD controller complies with AMBA data format and has an image scaler that executes interpolation for full screen display. This image scaler employs FOI for horizontal scaling and H-Shape pseudomedian filter for vertical scaling. It has been designed with VHDL and verified on prototype board using Xilinx FPGA and LCD panel
Design of ATM Switch-based on a Priority Control Algorithm

Most of the recent researches for ATM switches have been based on multistage interconnection network known as regularity and self-routing property. These networks can switch packets simultaneously and in parallel. However, they are blocking networks in the sense that packet is capable of collision with each other Mainly Banyan network have been used for structure. There are several ways to reduce the blocking or to increase the throughput of banyan-type switches: increasing the internal link speeds, placing buffers in each switching node, using multiple path, distributing the load evenly in front of the banyan network and so on. Therefore, this paper proposes the use of recirculating shuffle-exchange network to reduce the blocking and to improve hardware complexity. This structures are recirculating shuffle-exchange network as simplified in hardware complexity and Rank network with tree structure which send only a packet with highest priority to the next network, and recirculate the others to the previous network. after it decides priority number on the Packets transferred to the same destination, The transferred Packets into banyan network use the function of self routing through decomposition and composition algorithm and all they arrive at final destinations. To analyze throughput, waiting time and packet loss ratio according to the size of buffer, the probabilities are modeled by a binomial distribution of packet arrival. If it is 50 percentage of load, the size of buffer is more than 15. It means the acceptable packet loss ratio. Therefore, this paper simplify the hardware complexity as use of recirculating shuffle-exchange network instead of bitonic sorter.
Multicast Routing and Cost Model with Source Mobility in Mobile IPv6 Networks

In mobile network, the maintenance o( host grouping or the multicast delivery tree for multicasting algorithm becomes a major issues. In this paper, we explore the issues of mobile Multicast scheme using Mobile-IPv6, and addresses case when a mobile host is a source as well as a recipient of a given multicast operation using MLD(Multicast Listener Discovery) scheme, and the proposed MLD-based multicasting protocol asks its HA(Home Agent) to stop forwarding multicast for group using tunneling. We examine and compare our model to existing approaches by proposed cost model, and observe an improved ferformacne.
Optical Wavelet POfSDF-FSJTC for Scale Invariant Pattern Recognition with Noise

In this paper, we proposed a wavelet phase-only filter modulation synthetic discriminant function joint transform correlator(WPOfSDF-JTC) for scale invariant pattern recognition, and an improved algorithm to reduce the filter synthesis time. Computer simulation showed that the proposed filter has better SNR than CWMF if input image has random noise and the improved synthesis algorithm can reduce the iteration time. We used frequency selective JTC to solve the problem of the optical alignment and eliminate the autocorrelation and crosscorrelation between each input image.
