Performance Analysis of High Technologies in Main Memory DBMS ALTIBASE

ALTIBASE is the relational main memory DBMS that enables us to develop the high performance and fault tolerant applications. It guarantees the short and predictable execution time as well as the basic functionality of conventional disk-based DBMS. We present the 'overview of system architecture and the performance analysis with respect to the various design choices. The assorted experiments are performed under the various environments. The results of TPC-H and Wisconsin benchmark tests are described. We illustrate the performance comparisons under the various index mechanisms, the replication models, and the transaction durabilities. A performance study shows the ALTIBASE system can be applied to the wide area of industrial DBMS fields.
Wireless Internet Payment Protocol Using Weil Pairing Method

Recently, there are rapid development of information and communication technology and rapid growing of e-business users. We propose a method for security problem on the internet environment which changes from wire internet to wireless internet or wire/ wireless internet. Wireless e-business adopts credit card WPP protocol and AIP protocol proposed by ASPeCT. WAP, one of the protocol used by WPP has weakness of leaking out information from WG which connected wire and wireless communication. Certification chain based AIP protocol requires a lot of computation time and user IDs are known to others. We propose a Micro-Payment protocol based on credit card. Our protocol use the encryption techniques of the public key with ID to ensure the secret of transaction in the step of session key generation. IDs are generated using ECC based Weil pairing. We also use the certification with hidden electronic sign to transmit the payment result. The proposed protocol also solves the privacy protection and Non-repudiation problem.
The Research Regarding the Effect of Consumers' Motives on Perceived Usefulness of Word-of-Mouth Marketing in Online Shopping Mall Contents

It is true that internet provides consumers with an efficient way to search information with minimal effort and cost, which facilitates better decision making. Especially, previous studies revealed that the online word-of-mouth marketing is widely used as a source of consumers' information seeking and purchase decision making. Even with this importance of the online word-of-mouth communication on internet few researches have systematically addressed the issue. This study investigates the effect of consumers' motives on perceived usefulness of word-of-mouth marketing in online shopping mall contents. The results are as follows: First, choice uncertainty, perceived sacrifice, and social pressure play an important role for perceived usefulness of word-of-mouth marketing. Second, perceived usefulness has directly affected consumers' quality perception. Thus, it is essential for internet companies to find ways to encourage their customers to engage in word-of-mouth communication on their websites.
Web-based chromosome Karyotyping Instruction System

The task for chromosome analysis and diagnosis by experienced cytogenetists are being concerned as repetitive, time consuming job and expensive. For that reason, intelligent agent based on chromosome knowledge base using web has been developed to be able to analyze chromosomes and obtain necessary advises from the knowledge base instead of human experts. That is to say, the knowledge base of IF THEN production rule was implemented to a knowledge domain with normal and abnormal chromosomes, and then the inference results by the knowledge base could enter the inference data into the database. Experimental data were composed of normal chromosomes of 2,736 cases and abnormal chromosomes of 259 cases that have been obtained from GTG-banding metaphase peripheral blood and amniotic fluid samples. The completed intelligent agent for the chromosome knowledge base provides variously morphological information by analysis of normal or abnormal chromosomes also has the advantage of being able to consult with the user on the chromosome analysis and diagnosis.
Effect of Aquatic Exercise on Body Composition, Fitness and Pulmonary Function of Spasticity Cerebral Palsy

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of aquatic exercise on body composition, fitness and pulmonary function. Subjects were seven spasticity cerebral palsy(18-20years). The aquatic exercise program consisted of 11 items, and performed for 30-40mins in a bout, 4 times a week at the intensity of HRmax(
) for 12 weeks. And the change of body weight, %fat, fat mass, hand grip, sit up, sit and reach, close eyes foot balance and side step have been measured before and post exercise 12 weeks. Paired t-test was performed for data analysis at the 0.051eve1 of significance. The following results as; First, body compositions(body weight,
fat and fat mass) were decreased significantly after 12 weeks(p< .05). Second, muscle endurance, balance and flexibility were increased significantly after 12 weeks(p< .05, p< .01), respectively. Third, vital capacity was increased significantly after 12 weeks(p< .05). These results suggest that the aquatic exercise programs are applicable to the spasticity cerebral palsy with abnormal movement.
Brain MRI Semi-Automatic Segmentation Algorithm for Medical Image Contents

This paper emphasizes on the accomplishment of compensated proton density image and T2 weighted image taken from the shrinkage surface of the Brain. From the images, the Brain's surface shrinkage in the normal image and the surface shrinkage in the abnormal image can be observed. After the separation of white matter, gray matter, and CSF, this algorithm calculates the volume of each of them automatically. Results are subdivided into particular ages and saved in the database to be analyzed and to be processed statistically. Therefore, by using this algorithm the normal and abnormal stages can be detected in the early stages to diagnose. This result easily discernment Alzheimer patient and is useful for Alzheimer diagnostic and early detection.
Industrialization issues of VR-Tangible Interaction Contents and its application case study on Autism Remedy system

This study reviewed research and design directions on VR-Tangible interaction and explored market-driven approach of VR-tangible interaction applications. As a case study, we studied autism remedy system based on VR-tangible interaction design. Literature and field study has done on autism and its remedy methodologies. Based on observation process about patients, therapists, and remedy programs, interaction factors for autism remedy are found and then design strategy, system configuration, and remedy contents scenarios are set up to solve time and resource problems, presence problems, and efficiency issues of remedy results.
A Study on the Regulative Principle of Law in Respect to Police Function in Internationalized Age - Centering on Limitation to Police Authority Exercise -

The police have a responsibility to exercise the police authority in the sphere of peril prevention. Such right may be decided at their discretion. So, as a management according to the police's discretion is based on order and compulsion, it can not help infringing the rights of the people. Therefore, the exercise of the police authority has to be accompanied by a legal management policy according to the principle of legal reservation based on the principle of constitutionalism. This study is to find proper directions of the police function through preparing reasonable plans to guarantee freedom and rights of the people at its maximum while maintaining the public peace and order.
Split Local Variables Using Static Single Assignment Form in CTOC

CTOC(Classes To Optimized Classes) is a Java bytecode framework for optimization and analysis. Although Java bytecode has a significant amount of type information embedded in it, there are no explicit types for local variables. However, knowing types for local variables is very useful for both program optimization and analysis. This paper is a first part of CTOC framework. In this paper, we present methods for inferring static types for local variables in a 3-address, stackless, representation of Java bytecode. We use SSA Form(Single Static Assignment Form) for spliting local variables. Splited local variables will use to prepare for static type inference.
The Efficient Multipurpose Convertible Undeniable Signature Scheme

The digital signature can be verified and disavowed only with cooperation of the signer in 'undeniable signature scheme. A signed confidential document of a company can be copied and delivered to a rival company. If a conventional signature scheme is used to sign the document, it can be confirmed as authentic by verifying the signature without the signer's cooperation. However, if the company doesn't want the document to be verified as authentic by the rival company, it is recommended to use the undeniable signature scheme. Convertible undeniable signature scheme has additional property that the signer can convert undeniable signature to the ordinary one. The document signed by undeniable signature scheme that is no longer confidential can be opened to public use by converting the signature to the ordinary one. In this study, the efficient multipurpose convertible undeniable signature scheme based on El-Gamal signature scheme is proposed. The proposed scheme satisfies undeniable property and can convert undeniable signature to the ordinary one. The number of public keys and signatures are less than those of Boyar's convertible signature scheme. It also reduces the number of communication steps of the signature confirmation protocol.

These days, modern society is facing a 'turning point of paradigm' from industrial society to knowledge and information society. It indicates an entry to the high-speed network society centering on knowledge. Specifically, Korea has invested enormously to If Industry and finally other advanced countries are eager to export technologies of our country through benchmarking. However, because of our growth-oriented policy, Korea is not very good at dealing with the dysfunctions of information-centered society, and one of the representative problems is cyber-terrorism. Cyber terrorism which anonymous actors do to the uncertain number of people is one of the new types of terrorism. This study aims at political and legal speculations on cyber terrorism for protection of contents and find its countermeasures.

The Effects of the Presentation Mode of Web Contents on the Children's Information Processing Process

The major purpose of this study is to explore the effect of the presentation undo combined by main four media(moving Image, audio, turf image) of web contents on the children's information processing process. So children were assigned to one of five experimental medium conditions: 'moving Image1 (auditory-visual redundancy)', 'moving Image2 (auditory-visual dissonance)', 'text', 'text-with-image', 'audio'. Results indicated that the moving image was found to be the most effective transmitter of internet news information for children's recall. And the recall advantage of moving image was found to be particularly pronounced for verbal information supplemented with redundant visual.
Edge Enhanced Halftoning using Spatial Perceptual Properties of Human

Among the digital halftoning, the error diffusion halftoning gives better subjective quality than other halftoning techniques. But it also makes edges of objects blurred. To overcome the defect, this paper proposes the modified error diffusion halftoning algorithm to enhance the edges using the spatial perceptual properties of the human visual system. Using the properties that the human eyes perceive not the pixel's luminance itself but the local average luminance and the information that human eyes perceive spatial variation, the proposed method computes information of edge enhancement(IEE). The IEE is added to the quantizer's input pixel and feeds into the halftoning quantizer. The quantizer produces the halftone image having the enhanced edge. Also this paper proposes the technique that the coefficients of the error diffusion filter are adapted according to the correlation among color components. The computer simulation results show that the proposed method produces finer halftoning images than conventional methods due to the enhanced edges. And the proposed method also preserves similar in edges to original image and reduces some defects such as color impulse and false contours.
Game Planning and Development IDE based on Script

It is important matter to develop game that language should consider improving game development environment. It is hardly any language that is designed to develop a game. Most developer used general purpose programming language in these situations, and directly modeling with engine. For this reasons, developers cannot easily develop games and must programming on engine level. It is hard to develop a game in this environment that was not able to understand an engine well. Moreover, developer and planner want to use an abstracted high-level language on planner phase and are going to easily develop a game. It was not have communication tool between developer and planner. Therefore, we defined a script language for modeling based on abstract engine level. In addition, we did build IDE to develop game using abstracted high-level language. It was able to develop a game on high-speed development environment. Therefore, developer does not must develop with engine phase but can develop a game with planners. In addition, game planner and developer can use a communication tool because it is able to develop skeleton game.
Study on Contents Development Plans of the Regioanal Information by Investigating an Instance of J City

This study analyzed the regional current status of city J which has growth potentials of regional information, its necessity and the characteristic of the regional information for this area. The development plans of contents on the regional information based on the construction of the information infrastructure, are proposed to the important fields such as the fields of administration, industry and life information. We have also studied such as the development contents, process, providing of service, evaluation, interaction among the contents, demanders of service and providers of service related to their contents. Therefore proposal to the development plans of contents for the regional information, is able to be brought into much spread of regional information and will contribute to the development of regional information as well as get more competitive regional power.

There are successful multinationals like McDonald's, and International hotel chain. The reason is efficiency managing diversity workforces. Therefore, purpose of this study suggests practical guidelines to handling global workforce for creative ideas, diversity for network, and pool for superiority workforces. 1. The company or university we provided by training program for cross-culture seminar, and education program for global culture & manner. 2 The employees express their perceptions and feelings in their own language, the discussions were videotaped, and used for decreasing misfactors such as misperceptions, misevaluations, and mistrust. 3. It builds up various program for understanding cultural difference like seminar, world business manner, and costume & food culture for each country. 4. Top manager should keep in mind that cross-culture has diversity and consistency at the same time.
A Context-Differentiated Information Retrieval Method for an Efficient Ubiquitous Service

This paper proposes a new context-differentiated information retrieval method for an efficient ubiquitous service. This enables the rapid retrieval, because of no access to the most detail information at a time. This paper describes the retrieval method, the algorithms and the experimental results.
A Study on Approximation-Synthesis of Transition Segment in Speech Signal

In a speech coding system using excitation source of voiced and unvoiced, it would be involved a distortion of speech quality in case coexist with a voiced and unvoiced consonants in a frame. So, I propose TSIUVC(Transition Segment Including Unvoiced Consonant) extraction method by using pitch pulses and Zero Crossing Rate in order to unexistent with a voiced and unvoiced consonants in a frame. And this paper present a TSIUVC approximate-synthesis method by using frequency band division. As a result, this method obtains a high quality approximation-synthesis waveform within TSIUVC by using frequency information of 0.547kHz below and 2.813kHz above. And the TSIUVC extraction rate was
for female voice and
for male voice respectively This method has the capability of being applied to a new speech coding of Voiced/Silence/TSIUVC, speech analysis, and speech synthesis.
Bandwidth Allocation for Self-Similar Data Traffic Characteristics

Recent measurements of local-area and wide-area traffic have shown that network traffic exhibits at a wide range of scales-Self-similarity. Self-similarity is expressed by long term dependency, this is contradictory concept with Poisson model that have relativity short term dependency. Therefore, first of all for design and dimensioning of next generation communication network, traffic model that are reflected burstness and self-similarity is required. Here self-similarity can be characterized by Hurst parameter. In this paper, when different many data traffic being integrated under various environments is arrived to communication network, Hurst Parameter's change is analyzed and compared with simulation results.
A Load Sharing Scheme to Decrease Network Traffic Using Genetic Algorithm in Heterogeneous Environment

In a sender-initiated load sharing algorithms, sender(overloaded processor) continues to send unnecessary request messages for load transfer until receiver(underloaded processor) is found while the system load is heavy. Therefore, it yields many problems such as low CPU utilization and system throughput because of inefficient inter-processor communications until the sender receives an accept message from the receiver in this environment. This paper presents an approach based on genetic algorithm(GA) for dynamic load sharing in heterogeneous distributed systems. In this scheme the processors to which the requests are sent off is determined by the proposed GA to decrease unnecessary request messages.
The Effect of Multiagent Interaction Strategy on the Performance of Ant Model

One of the important fields for heuristics algorithm is how to balance between Intensificationand Diversification. Ant Colony System(ACS) is a new meta heuristics algorithm to solve hard combinatorial optimization problem. It is a population based approach that uses exploitation of positive feedback as well as greedy search. It was first proposed for tackling the well known Traveling Salesman Problem(TSP). In this paper, we propose Multi Colony Interaction Ant Model that achieves positive negative interaction through elite strategy divided by intensification strategy and diversification strategy to improve the performance of original ACS. And, we apply multi colony interaction ant model by this proposed elite strategy to TSP and compares with original ACS method for the performance.
A study on Packet Losses for Guaranteering Response Time of Service

To guarantee the quality of service for user request, we should consider various kinds of things. The important thing of QoS is that response time of service is transparently suggested 'to network users. We can know the response time of service using the information of network latency, system latency, and software component latency, In this paper, we carried out the modeling of network latency and analyzed the effects of packets loss to the network latency, Also, we showed the effectiveness of modeling using the NS-2. This research can help to provide the effective methods in case of SLA(Service Level Agreement) agreement between service provider and user.
Answer Pattern for Definitional Question-Answering System

In this paper, we describe the answer pattern for definitional question-answering system. The .answer extraction method of a definitional question-answering system is different from the general answer extraction method because it presents the descriptive answer for a definitional question. The definitional answer extraction using the definitional answer pattern can extract the definitional answer correctly without the semantic analysis. The definitional answer pattern is consist of answer pattern, conditional rule and priority to extract the correct definitional answer. We extract the answer pattern from the definitional training corpus and determine the optimum conditional rule using F-measure. Next, we determine the priority of answer patterns using precision and syntactic structure. Our experiments show that our approach results in the precision(0.8207), the recall(0.9268) and the F-measure(0.8705). It means that our approach can be used efficiently for a definitional question-answering system.
A Study on an Area-efficient Scheduler for Input-Queued ATM Switches

Currently the research on input-queued ATM switches is one of the most active research fields. Many achievements have been made in the research on scheduling algorithms for input-queued ATM switches and also applied in commerce. The scheduling algorithms have the characteristics of improving throughput, satisfying QoS requirements and providing service fairly. In this paper, we studied on an implementation of scheduler which arbitrates the input-queued ATM switches efficiently and swiftly. The proposed scheduler approximately provides
throughput for scheduling. The proposed algorithm completes the arbitration for N-port VOQ switch with 4-iterative matching. Also the proposed algorithm has a merit for implementing the scheduling algorithm with 1/2 area compared to that of iSLIP scheduling algorithm which is widely used. The performance of the proposed scheduling algorithm is superior to that of iSLIP in 4-iterative matching.
A Study on Document Filtering Using Naive Bayesian Classifier

Document filtering is a task of deciding whether a document has relevance to a specified topic. As Internet and Web becomes wide-spread and the number of documents delivered by e-mail explosively grows the importance of text filtering increases as well. In this paper, we treat document filtering problem as binary document classification problem and we proposed the News Filtering system based on the Bayesian Classifier. For we perform filtering, we make an experiment to find out how many training documents, and how accurate relevance checks are needed.
An Algorithm for Preventing Data Loss in Hand-off between Packet Networks of 3GPPx

In this paper, a fast handoff algorithm between PDSNs in 3GPPx network for a mobile node, is proposed. It introduces a method by which handoff can be performed without reestablishing PPP connection that may occur in the process of performing handoff between PDSNs. When the PDSN recognizes the mobile node moving into its coverage area, it can quickly establish a communication channel with the mobile node based on the already received subscriber information. As a result, handoff is performed without reestablishing PPP. Accordingly, handoff between PDSNs can be performed faster, removing time needed for establishing a PPP session with a terminal and for terminating a previously set up PPP session.
