Implementation of Evaluation System of Water Quality for Branches of Geum River Using Fuzzy Integral

The new system evaluating the pollution of the water quality for the branches of geum river using the fuzzy integral was proposed in this study. In this paper, the five individual factors, such as BOD(biochemical oxygen demand), COD(chemical oxygen demand), SS(suspended solids), T-N(total nitrogen), and T-P(total phosphorus) are selected. The measurement of fuzzy integral was determined depending on the degree of how they affect the pollution of water quality. The real values for the five factors measured and obtained from the branches of the geum river was normalized to ranging from 0 to 1. Finally, using the fuzzy integral, the degree of the pollution for the branches of geum river was expressed as the real numerical number. As a result, it appears that this approach can be proposed as the new system evaluating the pollution of the water quality for the branches of the geum river.
News Data Analysis Using Acoustic Model Output of Continuous Speech Recognition

In this paper, the acoustic model output of CSR(Continuous Speech Recognition) was used to analyze news data News database used in this experiment was consisted of 2,093 articles. Due to the low efficiency of language model, conventional Korean CSR is not appropriate to the analysis of news data. This problem could be handled successfully by introducing post-processing work of recognition result of acoustic model. The acoustic model more robust than language model in Korean environment. The result of post-processing work was made into KIF(Keyword information file). When threshold of acoustic model's output level was 100, 86.9% of whole target morpheme was included in post-processing result. At the same condition, applying length information based normalization, 81.25% of whole target morpheme was recognized. The purpose of normalization was to compensate long-length morpheme. According to experiment result, 75.13% of whole target morpheme was recognized KIF(314MB) had been produced from original news data(5,040MB). The decrease rate of absolute information met was approximately 93.8%.
Qualitative Study on Critical Quality Factors in Mobile Computing Services - Focusing on Mobile Data Services -

One of the main problems of today's ubiquitous computing systems is that they do not meet their quality requirements. Prior studies had investigated quality factors that were important to users regardless of use contexts. However, mobile computing services such as mobile data services (MDS) are fundamentally different from traditional information systems (IS) because it has been used in various life contexts. We conducted a qualitative study to identify important quality factors on various contexts in MDS. The results show that important quality factors in mobile computing services are differentiated from important quality factors in information systems.
Matching Method between Heterogeneous Data for Semantic Search

For semantic retrieval in semantic web environment, it is an important factor to manage and manipulate distributed resources. Ontology is essential for efficient search in distributed resources, but it is almost impossible to construct an unified ontology for all distributed resources in the web. In this paper, we assumed that most information in the web environment exist in the form of RDBMS, and propose a matching method between domain ontology and the existing RDBMS tables for semantic retrieval. Most previous studies about matching between RDBMS tables and domain ontology have extracted a local ontology from RDBMS tables at first, and conducted the matching between the local ontology and domain ontology. However in the processing of extracting a local ontology, some problems such as losing domain information can be occurred since its correlation with domain ontology has not been considered at all. In this paper, we propose a methods to prevent the loss of domain information through the similarity measure between instances of RDBMS tables and instances of ontology. And using the relational information between RDBMS tables and the relational information between classes in domain ontology, more efficient instance-based matching becomes possible.
Treatment Characteristics Using Full-Scale SBR System

In this study, the treatment of organic matters and nutrients like Nitrogen and Phosphorus with sequencing batch reactors (SBR) was conducted. The variations of BOD removal efficiency during the experimental period was

Analysing Scenario by Animation Genre and Development Plan

Animation, presenting laughing, tears and inspiration to the audience, can be classified into several genres according to the structure of scenario and storytelling in the same ways as for movie. This classification of scenario genre and scenario writing is based on the writing for a play. Scenario writing and genre classification that were discussed mainly in the movie theory books has been applied to the animation in spite of the difference of the production technique and storylines. Animation finds its academic values as a movie art due to its frame-by-frame filming technique and the diversity in the production. Since the number of scenario writers for animation is much smaller than that of movie in Korea, it is needed to set an academic basis for the classification of genre and scenario writing. In this study, academic basis for the classification of the genre by the analyzing the animation works.
Psychic Distance and Country Image Influencing on Consumers' Competitive Brand Choice on Cross-Cultural Perspectives

Culture, consumers' value and attitude play an important role for global marketing strategy on cross-cultural perspectives. The aim of this research was to investigate how consumer ethnocentrism and cultural affinity affect psychic distance, country image and competitive brand choice. data were collected through personal interview. A total of 234 responses are put to final analysis. The results are as follows: First, cultural affinity play an important role for psychic distance and country image. Second, consumer ethnocentrism has directly affected country image and psychic distance. Finally, country image has affected competitive brand choice, but psychic distance doesn't have affected.
Effective Use of Internet Communication Tools in Hotel Marketing

With the introduction of internet applications to the hotel industry hotel customers are very willing to use the electronic communication tools in their both searching information and purchasing behaviors. It is generally agreed that the internet communication tools can be a strategic one for less competitive hotels in the traditional marketing environment. This study found that there are significant differences among several classifications of hotels in the use of internet communications as a marketing tool. The study also found that there are some possibilities for local hotels to overcome the current marketing handicaps with internet communications.
Brand Personalities in Restaurant Business -Korean and Foreign Brand Restaurants-

The purpose of this study is 1) to find out what brand personality should be selected in the Korea brand(Nolbu, Donday) and Foreign brand(TGI Fridays, Outback steakhouse), 2) to explore how the brand personality affects the store personality, that is, brand preference and revisiting which is related to the firm's overall sales. Therefore, useful tools for attracting and retaining core customers will be provided to decision-makers. The findings are summed up as follows: Successful, wholesome, and hard-working are the most significant variables in the brand personality. Also intimate factors(friendly, honest, darling) stand out high brand preference and revisiting in the Korea brand restaurants. In foreign brand restaurants, western, friendly, and young are highly recognized in brand personality. Both cheerful factors(cheerful, charming) and successful factors(successful, leader, confident) have the greatest impact on high brand preference and revisiting intent. The findings offer important insights: First, the concept of restaurant should be overlapped with style of core customers in the Korean brand restaurants. Second, entertainment factors like cheerful atmosphere should be reinforced in the foreign brand restaurants.
Contents Analysis Frame of MMORPG

This paper suggests frame of analysis about MMORPG and analyzes three representative games. That frame has seven categories and more divisional analysing items. The 7 categories are community orientation, PK orientation, convenient usability of item, variety of character, balance, convenience of interface, aesthetics of graphic and sound. As a result, We found that Lineage and WOW have many different characters and Ragnarok has the characters in-between Lineage and WOW.
Empirical Study on Strategies for Successful Mobile Contents Services

Mobile contents mean all contents that could be served by mobile terminals. The mobile contents are categorized by three areas, which are communication, information and entertainment. Since the various mobile contents have own characteristics, there are differentiations among the service success factors according to types of the contents. In this paper, we do not only derive important factors that influence success of mobile contents services, but also analyze how the factors influence the success of mobile services. We also analyze whether measures of the factors might differ significantly among the types of mobile contents services.
Empirical Study on Factors Influencing Customer Loyalty in Mobile Games

In recent years, the market for mobile games has become the most important part in the mobile content industry. The purpose of this study are to identify a causality between flow and customer loyalty in mobile games and to identify the factors by which flow is influenced. Mobile game players were surveyed and the data were statistically analyzed empirically. Empirical results indicate that four independent variables such as game design, challenge, skill and feedback have impacts on the flow. And customer loyalty is significantly influenced by the flow. Based upon the statistical results, some useful guidelines for mobile game development and market penetration strategies are also provided.
Adaptive Interpolation for Intra Frames in H.264 Using Interference Function

Error Concealment method for Intra frames in H.264 reconstructs the lost block by computing weighted average value of the boundary pixels of the neighboring blocks; up, bottom, left and right blocks. However a simple average of pixel values of the neighboring blocks for Intra frames in H.264 leads to excessive blurring and degrades the picture quality severely. To solve this problem, in this paper we estimate the dominant edge of lost block using the pixel values of the neighboring blocks and reconstruct the pixel values by choosing adaptive interpolation between directional interpolation and weighted average interpolation considering the result value of the interference function based on statistics. Finally directional interpolation method improves by determining the dominant edge direction considering the relation of the dominent edge and the edges of neighboring blocks. Design of Hybrid Debugging Technique for Locating Logical Errors in Java Source Codes

In the previous work, we presented HDT for locating logical errors in Java programs. The HDT locates an erroneous method at an execution tree using an algorithmic program debugging technique and locates a statement with errors in the erroneous method using a step-wise program debugging. It reduced the number of programmer debugging in Java programs. But the HDT still increases the number of debugging because the size of the recent programs increases than the past programs and the number of methods is increasing. This paper proposes HDTS using a program slicing technique (PST) at the MDT. HDTS can reduce the number of programmer debugging. Specially, the more the number of methods and statements increases, the more HDTS has effects.
Design and Implementation of Network Fault-Tolerant Application Software Streaming

Application software streaming is a virtualization technology that enables users to use applications without installation on her/his computer. With application streaming service, a client immediately starts and uses the application as if it were installed. The application can be executed while executable codes for the application may still be streamed. Since the software streaming is based on networks, its service is affected by network failures. Network failures may cause the streamed application to stop, and to make it worse, also the system may crash because executable codes for the application can't be streamed from the streaming server. Using the Pareto principle (80 vs. 20 rule), users can be served continuously with the minimum functions that are frequently used, pre-fetched and cached if we provide a more intelligent and fault-tolerant streaming technique. This paper proposes the concept and technique named Evergreen. Using the Evergreen technique, users can continue using the streamed application while a network failure occurs, although user can access only the streamed code. We also discuss the implementation of Evergreen technique in details.
Image Based Text Matching Using Local Crowdedness and Hausdorff Distance

In this paper, we investigate a Hausdorff distance, which is used for the measurement of image similarity, to see whether it is also effective for document retrieval. The proposed method uses a local crowdedness and a Hausdorff distance to locate text images by determining whether a pair of images scanned at different time comes from the same text or not. To reduce the processing time, which is one of the disadvantages of a Hausdorff distance algorithm, we adopt a local crowdedness for feature point extraction. We apply the proposed method to 190 pairs of the same class and 190 pairs of the different class collected from postal envelop images. The results show that the modified Hausdorff distance proposed in this paper performed well in locating the tort region and calculating the degree of similarity between two images. An improvement of accuracy by 2.7% and 9.0% has been obtained, compared to a binary correlation method and the original Hausdorff distance method, respectively.
Correlation of ROI Coding Parameters and ROI Coding Methods in JPEG2000

JPEG2000, the standard of still image compression based on wavelet, will be widely used. One of the greatest characteristics of JPEG2000 is to offer ROI(Region-Of-Interest) coding. This is to compress with high quality the region that the user wants better than the other region. JPEG2000 and ROI have different parameters, which are tile size and ROI size, wavelet filter type and ROI shape and its location, codeblock size and number of ROI, number of DWT decomposition level and ROI importance, and number of quality layer and low resolution sub-band importance. In this paper, we shows the correlation of the parameters and ROI coding methods through experiments. This helps an application select the parameters and the methods to meet the application.
Structure and Performance Analysis of SCM-FTTH Network Based on WDM Technology of Next-Generation Optical Access Networks

The WDM/SCM-FTTH is an advanced optical access Network that can efficiently support various kinds of access network requirements using the WDM and SCM technologies in the near future. In this paper, we propose new network structures of the FTTH(Fiber To The Home) in the WDM(Wavelength Division Multiplexing) and WDM/SCM(Sub-Carrier Multiplexing) FTTH, and evaluate its performance with simulation results for the optical characteristics of the network and the dynamic allocation of bandwidth on demand of the users.
Program Development of Quick Product Developing in Textile and Fashion Industry

It is frequent to develop the fashion product through predict purchasing needs of consumers in Textile and Fashion Industry. If failed in its prediction, that is, if consumers would not purchase the product, there comes some problems that big sale is inevitable or stock increase tremendously. Otherwise, Quick Response System allows that the company observe the consumer's needs consistently and design products and establish manufacture schedule rapidly so that they could prohibit the products unnecessarily stocked. Consumer's preference is collected and analyzed through the data generated by POS system, and this is provided to the related manufacturer through network in realtime, so that the manufactures could merchandise, produce and provide the products according to the consumer's need. Thus, this study developed POS system-education program, that is, the merchandising of apparel product, product by prediction, retailer, purchase behavior, reduction in stock inventory and product lead time, cooperative system between apparel company and retailer, and conformation to the consumer's needs are included in this program, through binding the new technology in textile and fashion industry for the purpose of Quick Response system.
