Hwang, Hye-Jin ;
The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 6, issue 11, 2006, Pages 56~64
It seems that there has been a tendency of faction film which reveals imagination of state/nation. As typical examples,
would show the relationship between some factional imagination and the project of blockbuster. In this regard, I've researched the tradition of cinematic representation of state/nation and some historical aspects which reveal the being of official films ruled by oppressive political intention. As a kind of discourse dealing with state/nation,
have specific strategy of representation. The analysis about that process might enable us to understand what is nationalism and what is the nature of ideological discourse consumed by faction-related products.

The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 6, issue 11, 2006, Pages 110~117
With the New media of present age we are living at, strongly entice consumers through various sensible technology and give influences on our life. They are visually formed but make us feel them as if formed tactile. The masses of today are meeting media through all the senses in daily life according to the spread of on-line media and in such course they want momentary and tactile share. Since appearance of mass society and cinema following such current, art has appealed to dispersive and tactile perception, and such public way of perception makes it possible to experience 'visual tactility' in daily life in accordance with the development of on-line game culture among others. The shock effects, given by editing of game animations which are produced for epic experience of on-line game, arouse tactility in addition to visibility. Under this assumption and on the basis of visual tactility theory as well as montage theory of image by Walter Benjamin, the research intends to explain that public tactile shock does not result from simple graphic effect but from montage effect and dispersive acceptance.

Kim, Jae-Hyun ; Kim, Tag-Gon ; Lee, Wan-Bok ;
The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 6, issue 11, 2006, Pages 126~134
The object oriented co-modeling methodology, previously introduced, employs a layered approach in war game models development in which an upper layer models abstract behavior of an object and a lower one models details of the object. Within the methodology military domain experts and simulation experts models an object at the upper and the lower layers, respectively in concurrent manner. This paper proposes a method of constructing a war game simulator using parametric behavior modeling technique, which provides a means for military domain experts/users to change model's detailed behavior with no knowledge on modeling semantics. The proposed simulator would support new algorithms or strategies with minimal cost and could be modified even by the users who are ignorant about modeling technique. To demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed framework, a naval war game simulator is exemplified.

Kim, Eun-Seok ; Hur, Gi-Taek ; Youn, Jae-Hong ;
The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 6, issue 11, 2006, Pages 135~144
Implicit surface model is convenient for modeling objects composed of complicated surfaces such as characters and liquids. Moreover, it can express various forms of surface using a relatively small amount of data. In addition, it can represent both the surface and the volume of objects. Therefore, the modeling technique can be applied efficiently to deformation of objects and 3D animation. However, the existing implicit primitives are parallel to the axis or symmetrical with respect to the axes. Thus it is not easy to use them in modeling objects with various forms of motions. In this paper, we propose an efficient animation method for modeling various poses of characters according to matching with motion capture data by adding the attribute of rotation to metacube which is one of the implicit primitives.
The Psychological Meaning Delivery of The Color which was Applied to Animation
Jin, Jung-Sik ;
The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 6, issue 11, 2006, Pages 145~153
'Regardless of our consciousness, Color is the energy that we are affected by positively or negatively.' said Johannes Itten. When we see the color in nature, the color acts to our emotion most preferentially and most strongly. These experiences of color become symbol or icon to us and express states of his mind as allegory. The color of animation is the visual element of image media, the image which act as important meaning, the attribute of light, and visual-perceptional factor. With molding factor form, light and shade, the color function importantly as media which express a person and a person's circumstance. In animation, the color is used symbolically to suggest not only mental change of character but also the condition. The transmission of mental meaning express symbolism of the color iconically. Accordingly, the color for image express of animation take on universality. This study focus on how the symbolical meaning of the color is reflected in a work.

As the very important artistic elements expressing a visual image, the color has been increasing the power of expression. But the relationship between the remarkable peculiarity of colors in accordance with other artistic elements inside the picture plane makes difficult to express an effective expression of color. In the adaptation of color as well as artistic style between
by W. Disney co. is very different each other in the manner of expression. By revealing the difference of the practical use of color and it's principle of those two works, I want to formulate a suitable use of color. In this paper, focus on how to active application of color in relationship between other artistic element and expressive peculiar of color. A right is not only the dominant component in color, but contrast also. A contrast is the most considerable element for modeling order. To emphasize expressive peculiar of color, an artist control artistic element properly and can make expressive energy of brightness & shape.

Kim, Sang-Sik ;
The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 6, issue 11, 2006, Pages 172~181
Universal designs begins from observing things. This paper understands contradiction and irrationality about drink bottle used unintentionally in our common life. Those have not found out until now. So an example observation about problem derivation and a practice method of Universal design is presented. People of various classes, such as a child, an old person and a woman, a male, the man in the street, and a disabled person, have been using drink bottle recently. However, the design of drink bottle has become on the basis of the fine and common man, so the other people, for example, children or handicapped persons experience many situations which cannot open cap or cannot be drunk without external help. This research posed questions from the children to the elders about drink bottle by the viewpoint of universal design paying attention to such problems. In the research result, the fixed quantity and qualitative quantity about problem are commented. And the fixed quantity utilized frequency analysis and chi-square verification (
) for the questionnaire result on the basis, and the qualitative quantity pointed out result in the universal design principle through the data of a precedence research result. An alternative plan for drink bottle's design is presented through case observation of conceptual approach to method of Universal design.
Development of Shoes' Easy-Order Prototype According to Foot Types of Juveniles In On-Line 3D Virtual Reality
Choi, Sung-Won ; Lim, Ji-Young ;
The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 6, issue 11, 2006, Pages 182~189
Consumers can choose suitable shoes for their feet in off-line shopping. However, in on-line shopping, because they can not wear shoes, compare to the off-line shopping, there are many problems in internet shopping. And the solution of user-oriented internet shopping is development of new type of prototype which is accessible to user and to offer visual information through 3D-virtual reality. We made this Prototype that the consumer can measure their own shoes size. And the consumer can print out their foot size in the internet database and measure their own foot size and type. And we maximized the visual experience though it is indirect and then we wanted to overcome a emotional experience in the real world. we visualized first, 'the softness' of shoes meterial, second 'the drainage' in the realtion of shoes meterial and water, third 'the close adhesion' in the realtion of shoes and consumer's their own foot and last 'the elasticity' in the relation of the shoes outer sole and surface. The result of this research can solve the problem in the existing on-line shoes' shop and it will become an alternative plan. And this prototype just will not become the localization at the on-line shoes' shop. In true sense, it will be an important example in the whole internet industry.

Second, the metaphoric ads using positive approach and indirect copy were effective for heightened source credibility, which was further heightened when the two were simultaneously used. Third, the metaphoric ads using positive approach and indirect copy were effective for heightened design preference, and the design preference became even preferable when the two were simultaneously used. Fourth, the metaphoric ads using indirect copy were effective for behavioral intention. The study suggested that the strategy of adopting metaphoric ads with indirect copy of positive approach was quite useful in strengthening the effect of public service advertising.
Formal Method for Specification and Verification of Behavioral Equivalences of Real-time Navigation and Transportation Systems Based on Abstraction
Lee, Moon-Kun ; Choi, Jung-Rhan ;
The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 6, issue 11, 2006, Pages 202~216
A number of process algebras are not well suitable for real-time navigation/delivery systems due to the following reasons: 1) lack of representation of process distributivity over some geographical space and 2) the indistinction of representation of process mobility from process distributivity over the space. To make the process algebra suitable to the systems, it seems to be necessary to separate the space representation from the mobility representation. This paper presents a formal method for this purpose, namely, Calculus of Abstract Real-Time Distribution, Mobility, and Interaction (CARDMI). For analysis and verification of behavioral properties, CARDMI defines a set of the spatial, temporal and the interactive deduction rules and a set of equivalence relations. The rules and equivalences can be abstracted hierarchically due to the spatial abstraction, too. CARDMI can be applied to virtual navigation/delivery system for contents, too.

The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 6, issue 11, 2006, Pages 217~224
As the online game which is possible of large-scale multiple access enjoys popularity, the number of development by many online game manufacturers came to increase exponentially. But, the reason why the qualitative expansion pace cannot follow the pace of the quantitative expansion on games is that most of them are paltry enterprises except the leading enterprises which are occupying few competitive advantages, so there is no well-established production procedure, and accurate test before the launch isn't accompanied. Therefore, it doesn't cope flexibly to the expectable results. Now, important function is not embodied through the game feature checking stage of the same feature or is under the situation being used in finding out the fatal error of the specific parts. To this, this study collects the emotional vocabulary in the games to suggest the evaluation system that can evaluate the emotion the user feels while playing the game with the usage of the evaluation system that is leaned toward the existing usage evaluation system, and through factor analysis, we classify them into interactivity, interface and information factors and suggest the emotion evaluation system while designing the evaluation questions according to it.

Representation and Management of e-Learning Object Metadata Using ebXML
Kim, Hyoung-Do ;
The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 6, issue 11, 2006, Pages 249~259
E-learning objects should be appropriately described and classified using standard metadata for facilitating the processes of e-learning resource description, discovery and reuse. These metadata need to be published in a registry to reduce duplication of effort and enhance semantic interoperability. This paper describes how standard ebXML registries can be used for annotating, storing, discovering and retrieving e-learning object metadata. For semantic annotation of e-learning objects, IEEE LOM is adopted as the metadata ontology. In order to support the e-learning metadata ontology in interoperable ebXML registries, a mapping scheme between LOM and ebXML information model is proposed. The usefulness of standard ebXML registries for sharing e-learning metadata is demonstrated by prototyping an e-learning registry called ebRR4LOM based on the scheme.
Model Composition Methodology for High Speed Simulation
Lee, Wan-Bok ;
The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 6, issue 11, 2006, Pages 258~265
DEVS formalism is advantageous in modeling large-scale complex systems and it reveals good readability, because it can specify discrete event systems in a hierarchical manner. In contrast, it has drawback in that the simulation speed of DEVS models is comparably slow since it requires frequent message passing between the component models in run-time. This paper proposes a method, called model composition, for simulation speedup of DEVS models. The method is viewed as a compiled simulation technique which eliminates run-time interpretation of communication paths between component models. Experimental results show that the simulation speed of transformed DEVS models is about 18 times faster than original ones.

The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 6, issue 11, 2006, Pages 266~275
Mostly mechanical products are connected by several components instead of single accessory in product process. Although majority of assembly process is automated, the fault analysis is not automated because it needs expert knowledge in various fields to support inclusive decision-marking. This paper proposes an assembly fault analysis support system that uses image regions which can be easily accessed and understood by experts of various fields. An assembly fault analysis support system helps effective fault analysis from assembly by integrating image regions, product design information, and fault detection information. The proposed method enables fault information access from multimedia information by segmenting product images. After product images are segmented by labeling, design information and fault information are integrated in extended Attributed Relational Graph.

The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 6, issue 11, 2006, Pages 295~301
The scope ID field of IPv6 multicast address indicates the zone of the destination for which a multicast traffic is intended. Without any further examination on the header field, the scope ID enables a router to determine whether the traffic will be forwarded to a subnet or not. For the graceful migration from IPv4 networks to IPv6 networks, various IPv6 applications working through IPv4 networks are indispensable during the migration period. This paper describes development of an interactive remote lecture system providing service integration on voice, image, and data of teaching materials. Access right to the network for dialog among multicast group members is controlled via additional TCP (Transmission Control Protocol) session. A jitter buffer algorithm was implemented to improve the voice communication jitters.

The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 6, issue 11, 2006, Pages 302~309
This paper propose a practical algorithm to reuse and expand the objects. This algorithm is based on the Motion Path Modification rules. We focus on reusing of the existing motions for synthesizing new motions for the objects. Both the linear and the nonlinear curve-fitting algorithm are applied to modify an animation by keyframe interpolation and to make the motion appear realistic. We also proposes a framework of the scenario-based 3D image synthesizing system that allows common users, who envision a scenario in their minds, to realize it into segments of a cool animation. The framework is useful in building a 3D animation in game programming with a limited set of 3D objects.
