Event Semantic Photo Retrieval Management System based on MPEG-7

Semantic photo retrieval has been an important role in reducing the semantic gap between the simple visual features and the abundant semantics delivered by a photo. Effective photo retrieval using semantics is one of the major challenges in photo retrieval. And we propose a new event semantic photo retrieval method by using photo annotation user interface. In this paper, A photo album management system that facilitates photo management and semantic retrieval, which fully relies on the MPEG-7 standard as an information base and a native XML database, has been designed and implemented.
Concept-based Question Analysis for Accurate Answer Extraction

This paper describes a concept-based question analysis to analyze concept which is more important than keyword for the accurate answer extraction. Our idea is that we can extract correct answers from various paragraphs with different structures when we use well-defined concepts because concepts occurred in questions of same answer type are similar. That is, we will analyze the syntactic and semantic role of each word or phrase in a question in order to extract more relevant documents and more accurate answer in them. For each answer type, we define a concept frame which is composed of concepts commonly occurred in that type of questions and analyze user's question by filling a concept frame with a word or phrase. Empirical results show that our concept-based question analysis can extract more accurate answer than any other conventional approach. Also, concept-based approach has additional merits that it is language universal model, and can be combined with arbitrary conventional approaches.

The intellectual property system was very important to the past industrial society. It is so important to the 21C information age. It is a leading role to developing these information society. Not only the digital content control but the technology of software source code for the intellectual property is so much mean to international competition. On occurring disputation property, we have to prove the fact, there is a problem to discriminate the original source code. In this paper, we make a study of the digital licence prototype for discriminate the original source code. Reserved words of software source code by parsing express to XML file that have hierarchical structure. Then, we can express architecture of software source code by tree structure form instead of complex source code. And we make a study of the indexing and searching to search digital license.
An Efficient MMORPG Distributed Game Server

An important application domain for online services is an interactive, multi-player game. In recent, many increase of users that use on-line services through networks have caused a heavy load to the server. In this paper, we propose a MMORPG(Massively Multi-player Online Role Playing Game) distributed game server using flayer-Cell. Our method provides efficient solution of a MMORPG distributed game server for large numbers of users. It is shown through the experiments that our method outperforms existing methods in terms of memory utilization rate and processing speed.
Feature Extraction for Protein Pattern Using Fuzzy Integral

In the protein macro array image, it is important to find out the feature of the each protein chip. A decision error by the personal sense of sight occurred from long time observation while making an experiment in many protein chip image. So the feature extraction is needed by a simulator. In the case of feature analysis for macro array scan image the efficiency is maximized. In the fluorescence scan image, the response for each cell have been depend on R, G, B distribution of color image. But it is difficult to be classified as one color feature in the case of mixed color image. In this paper, the response color of a protein chip is classified according to the fuzzy integral value with respect to fuzzy measure as the user desired color. The result of the experiment for the macro array fluorescence image with the Scan Array 5000 shows that the proposed method using the fuzzy integral is important fact to be make decision for the ambiguous color.
Eye Localization based on Multi-Scale Gabor Feature Vector Model

Eye localization is necessary for face recognition and related application areas. Most of eye localization algorithms reported thus far still need to be improved about precision and computational time for successful applications. In this paper, we propose an improved eye localization method based on multi-scale Gator feature vector models. The proposed method first tries to locate eyes in the downscaled face image by utilizing Gabor Jet similarity between Gabor feature vector at an initial eye coordinates and the eye model bunch of the corresponding scale. The proposed method finally locates eyes in the original input face image after it processes in the same way recursively in each scaled face image by using the eye coordinates localized in the downscaled image as initial eye coordinates. Experiments verify that our proposed method improves the precision rate without causing much computational overhead compared with other eye localization methods reported in the previous researches.
Review on Genetic Algorithms for Pattern Recognition

In pattern recognition field, there are many optimization problems having exponential search spaces. To solve of sequential search algorithms seeking sub-optimal solutions have been used. The algorithms have limitations of stopping at local optimums. Recently lots of researches attempt to solve the problems using genetic algorithms. This paper explains the huge search spaces of typical problems such as feature selection, classifier ensemble selection, neural network pruning, and clustering, and it reviews the genetic algorithms for solving them. Additionally we present several subjects worthy of noting as future researches.
Adaption of Neural Network Algorithm for Pattern Recognition of Weld Flaws

In this study, we used nondestructive test based on ultrasonic test as inspection method and compared backpropagation neural network(BPNN) with probabilistic neural network(PNN) as pattern recognition algorithm of weld flaws. For this purpose, variables are applied the same to two algorithms. Where, feature variables are zooming flaw signals of reflected whole signals from weld flaws in time domain. Through this process, we compared advantages/ disadvantages of two algorithms and confirmed application methods of two algorithms.

In recent years, embedded systems have been expanding their application domains from traditional applications (such as defense, robots, and artificial satellites) to portable devices which execute more complicated applications such as cellular phones, digital camcoders, PMPs, and MP3 players. So as to manage restricted hardware resources efficiently and to guarantee both temporal and logical correctness, every embedded system use a real-time operating system (RTOS). Only when the RTOS makes kernel services deterministic in time by specifying how long each service call will take to execute, application programers can write predictable applications. Moreover, so as for an RTOS to be deterministic, its scheduling and context switch overhead should also be predictable. In this paper, we present the complete generalized algorithm to determine the highest priority in the ready list with 22r levels of priorities in a constant time without additional memory overhead.
Power-Aware Scheduling for Mixed Real-Time Tasks

In this paper, we address a power-aware scheduling algorithm for a mixed real-time system which consists of periodic and sporadic tasks, each of which is characterized by its minimum period, worst-case execution requirement and deadline. We propose a dynamic voltage scaling algorithm called DVSMT(DVS for mixed tasks), which dynamically scales down the supplying voltage(and thus the frequency) using on-line distribution of the borrowed resources when jobs complete while still meeting their deadlines. With this scheme, we could reduce more energy consumption. As the proposed algorithm can be easily incorporated with RTOS(Real-Time Operating System), it is applicable for handhold devices and sensor network nodes that use a limited battery power. Simulation results show that DVSMT saves up 60% more than the existing algorithms both in the periodic-task and mixed-task systems.

Today, packet services for wireless internet is provided by WiBro.WLAN.3G, but it is hard to be satisfied seamless connection in each of networks and wide-area service will increase the number of BS(base station) because WiBro and WLAN has been coverage smaller than 3G. that is, communicate which can use continuous and seamless data service is available when user is moving. Therefore, service provider need to integrate network for reducing management expenses. In this paper, we propose advanced handoff algorithm which is considered by 'user demand bandwidth', 'MN(Mobile Node) movement speed' and 'MN service area' and show that simulating result is superior to 'bandwidth allocation', 'QoS(Quality of Service) rate' and 'handoff failure rate'
TTL based Advanced Packet Marking Mechanism for Wireless Traffic Classification and IP Traceback on IEEE 802.1x Access Point

The vulnerability issue on IEEE 802.1x wireless LAN has been permits the malicious attack such as Auth/Deauth flooding more serious rather than we expected. Attacker can generate huge volume of malicious traffic as the same methods on existing wired network. The objective of wireless IP Traceback is to determine the real attack sources, as well as the full path taken by the wireless attack packets. Existing IP Traceback methods can be categorized as proactive or reactive tracing. But, these existing schemes did not provide enhanced performance against DoS attack on wireless traffic. In this paper, we propose a 'TTL based advanced Packet Marking' mechanism for wireless IP Packet Traceback with wireless Classification function. Proposed mechanism can detect and control DoS traffic on AP and can generate marked packet for reconstructing on the real path from the non-spoofed wireless attack source, by which we can construct secure wireless network based on AP with enhance traceback performance.
AWM Driving Method with Hybrid Current Control for PM-OLED Panel

This paper proposed a new amplitude width modulation for OLED data driver IC. The data driver controls brightness of OLED by adjusting amplitude and width of the data drive current pulse. There were two conventional methods; pulse amplitude modulation(PAM) and pulse width modulation(PWM). The PWM method suffered from lower light emitting time efficiency at low luminance signal. The PAM method suffered from large chip area using DACs for each column. The proposed method was aiming at accurately controlling of the current level by MSB data and light emitting efficiency by LSB data to improve the inefficiencies of the PAM and a PWM. The proposed AWM driver circuit implemented using
3-poly 4-metal CMOS high voltage process. The simulation result shows the improvement in the accuracy of the gray level control even though the driver circuit is smaller than the PAM.
Dispersion Analysis for Rectangular Coaxial Line and TEM Cell

A rectangular coaxial line is mainly utilized as a transition structure from a coaxial line to a rectangular waveguide. A TEM cell is also widely used to measure the EMC characteristics of a DUT. In order to understand the operations of a rectangular coaxial line and a TEM cell, it is essential to analyze the dispersion relations of a rectangular coaxial line and a TEM cell. In this paper, we present simple yet accurate dispersion relations of the TE and TM higher modes based on the TEM mode. Manipulating a mode-matching technique and a Green's function approach allows us to obtain the analytic dispersion equations of a rectangular coaxial line and a TEM cell. In our approach, a rectangular coaxial line is divided into four L-blocks and its electromagnetic fields representations are easily obtained with a superposition. To verify the convergence of our dispersion relations, we perform numerical computations and compare our results with those of FDTD.
Performance Improvement of TCP over Wired-Wireless Networks by Predicting Packet Loss of Mobile Host

In wired networks, packet losses mostly occur due to congestion. TCP reacts to the congestion by decreasing its congestion window, thus to reduce network utilization. In wireless networks, however, losses may occur due to the high bit-error rate of the transmission medium or due to fading and mobility. Nevertheless, TCP still reacts to packet losses according to its congestion control scheme, thus to reduce the network utilization unnecessarily. This reduction of network utilization causes the performance of TCP to decrease. In this paper, we predict packet loss by using RSS(Received Signal Strengths) on the wireless and suggest adding RSS flag bit in ACK packet of MH. By using RSS flag bit in ACK, the FH(Fixed Host) decides whether it adopt congestion control scheme or not for the maximum throughput. The result of the simulation by NS-2 shows that the proposed mechanism significantly increases sending amount and receiving amount by 40% at maximum.
Fast Booting of Linux Kernel using Dynamic IDE Device Probing Scheme

Most of embedded systems have been developed practically based on the PC platform equipped with Intel x86 CPU since it is able to reduce the total time for product development and improve the reliability of product by making use of a variety of solutions developed for a long time in the PC environment. Also, embedded systems based on PC-platform mainly use a high-capacity hard disk as data storage device for applications intending to store multimedia data. Recently, while the capacity of hard disk is increasing rapidly, the start-up ready time of hard disk is growing longer more than 30 seconds. The lengthened start-up ready time may delay the booting time of embedded system seriously, weighting users down with inconvenience. This paper proposes the refined system architecture and the dynamic IDE device probing method for fast booting of linux kernel in the embedded system based on PC platform with high-capacity hard disks, and the performance of proposed methods is evaluated and presented.
Low Power Parallel Acquisition Scheme for UWB Systems

In this paper, we propose a new parallel search algorithm to acquire synchronization for UWB(Ultra Wideband) systems that reduces computation of the correlation. The conventional synchronization acquisition algorithms check all the possible signal phases simultaneously using multiple correlators. However it reduces the acquisition time, it makes high power consumption owing to increasing of correlation. The proposed algorithm divides the preamble signal to input the correlator into an m-bit bunch. We check the result of the correlation at first stage of an m-bit bunch data and predict whether it has some synchronization acquisition information or not. Thus, it eliminates the unnecessary operation and save the number of correlation. We evaluate the proposed algorithm under the AWGN and the multi-Path channel model with MATLAB. The proposed parallel search scheme reduces number of the correlation 65% on the AWGN and 20% on the multi-path fading channel.
Storing Method of Learning Resources based on Cluster for e-Learning

A learning resource is a SCO or a collection of on or more assets in the SCORM. A storage policy is required to search rapidly and reuse assets in e-learning environment. However there are not research results about it. In this paper, We propose a storing method for assets based on cluster and define the mathematical formulation of it. Also, we present criteria for assets evaluation and describe procedure to evaluate each asset. We show that the search based on proposed cluster storing method increase performance than the categorization search through performance evaluation.
A Study on the Educational Effectiveness of e-Learning

In this study, we investigated the effectiveness of e-Learning, and attempted to identify factors affecting educational results. Based on survey data from 712 distance learning participants, we selected and verified factors affecting educational results through a correlation analysis and confidential test. Participants' scores were standardized and considered as a dependent variable representing educational effectiveness. Through several tests using the program AMOS, we suggest the most appropriate structural equation that can verify the causal relation of factors affecting the effectiveness of e-Learning. In result, the most important factor affecting score which is our measurement for educational effectiveness is job-possession. The fidelity has slightly direct influence to the score and the satisfaction has least indirect influence to the score.

Our country is criticized that is gambling republic recently. It is shy, but do not refute through present actual conditions. Gambling had increased and generated much problems in our country. But, gambling permited socially. So, control system that do snow about gambling is insufficient. In the meantime, police's confrontation about gambling crime was not effective. Active confrontation about police's gambling crime must consist now. This research groped police's active confrontation way about gambling crime, police is improving crime information management system of gambling crime and utilize in investigation.

In case of Korea Social cost by road traffic accident came to about 15 trillion per year and to 2.15% of GDP, a day about 20 person death to traffic accident and those damage scale reach out about 7 billions. Concretely, according to OECD traffic accident comparison on July 2005 (2003 statistical analysis), in korea, 7,212 Person were dead. This describe that the sacrifice numbers of traffic accident is 26 level of OECD 26 countries, the dead of traffic accident on children 100,000 persons is 25 level of OECD 25 countries. It is contrast to other developed countries. In the meantime, korea government executed various traffic policies to reduce traffic accident and depending on those policies, even if, there were epochal progressive phenomena the concerns of citizens which felt on franc accident is very deficient. On this research, traffic accident state of taking place of Gowangju.Jeonnam province was analysed depend on jeonnam province police station materials and want to suggest appropriate traffic safty counterplan propose. This subject was analysed traffic accident according the death with analysing per month, day, hour, and suggest counterplan depending on traffic accident analysis result on 2004. 2005 years.
Taxation Discretion and Account Information Application of Tax Investigator

This study is to analysis the application statue of account and non-account information of the tax investigators, who are charging significant roles in the decision making process of the tax investigation and to verify whether work factors, regarding work performance, affect on the application of the taxation discretion. Following to verified results of the study, tax investigators apply the income statement most frequently and significantly consider the financial statement with annexed specification from the data to expedite an efficient tax investigation. In a selection of non-account information, work group preferentially considers the disorder of job performance. The analysis of primary factor embodies that the professionalism, regarding legal or institutional work performance, and the working environment intimately effect on the tax discretion application.
Comparative Study on Narrative of Animation 'Snow White'

Animation becomes combination of narrative together visual(image) and hearing(sound) information rather than transmits only visual information. The image and sound of such animation are adjusted and controlled in the structure of narrative, and com to receive a meaning by its context. Even if animation begun by equal motive, the meaning which is different in each other with a director is generated. Although Snow White of the Walt Disney Co. and Fleischer's studio was manufactured by motive in fairy tale Snow White, it can look for a large difference in semantic generation of narrative. While Disney's Snow White re-interpreted the original meaning for a director's view of the world and re-made it by animation, Snow White of Fleischer constitutes a work from a meaning of the Snow White original newly completely, is not only weakening the union power of narrative, and but also reflecting the situation at that time.

Symbol mark started with expressing the symbolic form through the long history of human beings, in order to transmit self or group's life and thoughts, and since the Industrial Revolution, symbol mark has beer used for the business activities of enterprise, along with the acquirement of term 'CI'. The symbol mark design of A.E.G, designed by Peter Behrens in 1907 is the onset of symbol mark in the CI concept, and the concept of CI and symbol mark was introduced to our nation in the early of 1970s. Since then, until now, CI has reflected the phase of the times as a key factor of CI, while repeating numerous changes, and recently, it is a state that the expression methods of symbol mark have been varied with the popularization of trend, appealing to emotion in the whole society and culture. Accordingly, this thesis examines the corporate symbol mark through the portfolio of representative CI specializes companies from the introduction period of CI to the present, and analyze the features of the time in order to present the basis of the direction of symbol mark design for the creation of future corporate images.
Analysis of Relation of Class Separability According to Different Kind of Satellite Images

The classification of the satellite images is basic part in Remote sensing. In classification of the satellite images, class separability feature is very effective accuracy of the images classified. For improving classification accuracy, It is necessary to study classification methode than analysis of class separability feature deciding classification probability. In this study, IKONOS, SPOT 5, Landsat TM, were resampled to sizes 1m grid. Above images were calculated the class separability prior to the step for classification of pixels.
