DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2008.8.10.001
The traditional barcode based medicine logistics system have the problems such as loss, management error, online track, public information due to the hand-operated logistic process. Otherwise, quick response allows that the company observe the requests consistently and design medicine and establish manufacture schedule rapidly so that they could prohibit the product stocked. In this paper, we analyzed how to process medicine circulation logistics and information steps practically and proposed the RFID based medicine logistics system for the quick response in hospital. The proposed method provided the medical history tracing service, the traditional system connection, the efficiency logistic service, and the narcotic specified management service using the medicine logistics information from RFID tag. Accordingly, the satisfaction and the productivity will be improved the efficient medicine logistics by reducing the loss as well as the management error.

Ryoo, Myung-Chun ; Kim, Sang-Jin ; Park, Chang-Hyeon ;
The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 8, issue 10, 2008, Pages 11~19
DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2008.8.10.011
In this paper, we propose a prediction method of lung cancer susceptibility using an importance evaluation of SNP data and the SVM learning, a gene data concerning getting sick with the lung cancer. Since the number of negative data is much larger that of positive data, which are to be used in the SVM learning, for each positive data, a negative data is first searched which has the same sex and the minimum age difference with the positive data. The searched negative data is then coupled with the positive data. For the importance evaluation of each SNP data, an equation which calculates the influence of each SNP data on the prediction of getting sick is adopted. The SNP data are sorted according to the evaluated importance. In experiments, we observed the prediction accuracy which varies according to the number of sorted SNP data used in the learning. LOOCV test results showed that the proposed method yields the prediction accuracy of maximum 65.0% for test data.

DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2008.8.10.020
The quality of stream remaking is decided the load of a server and Jitter through the traffic of the transmission path between end to end. In order to improve these problems in this paper, I propose tree construction method of low-delay-level-multicast. In this case which the network congestion will be occurred by streaming quality, I also propose the technique which dynamically changes the transmission path. This technique first constructs the overlay structure for relaxing the overload of server. Secondly, in order to decrease Jitter of client, it makes upload bandwidth and low latency balanced. In the evaluation of the performance, this paper showed better enhancement of about
than P2CAST in the simulation about node average join count, average bandwidth, service request refusal ratio, RTT measurement of nodes, and node average join count by defect ratio.

As ubiquitous computing technologies become the important paradigm for replacing internet based IT paradigm and developing the next generation IT, the research and development on the ubiquitous technologies are progressed actively. One of the core technologies for ubiquitous computing is RFID. In this paper, we design and implement the property management system as a new business item using the RFID since the demands for the u-business model that considers the ubiquitous environment are being grown. There are many properties in the organizations such as companies, schools and so on. Many users share these properties. Thus, these fields require efficient management systems for monitoring a variety of information such as the locations and the detailed information of the properties for the monitoring and lending services. We attach RFID tags to every property and monitor their information with our web-based management system. Our management system provides the monitoring service and the lending service for properties and users.

You, Young-Gap ; Park, Rae-Hyeon ; Ahn, Young-Il ; Kim, Han-Byeo-Ri ;
The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 8, issue 10, 2008, Pages 37~44
DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2008.8.10.037
This paper presented a solution to encryption and decryption problem suffering data transmission error for encrypted message transmission. Block cypher algorithms experience avalanche effect that a single bit error in an encrypted message brings substantial error bits after decryption. The proposed fault tolerant scheme addresses this error avalanche effect exploiting a multi-dimensional data array shuffling process and an error correction code. The shuffling process is to simplify the error correction. The shuffling disperses error bits to many data arrays so that each n-bit data block may comprises only one error bit. Thereby, the error correction scheme can easily restore the one bit error in an n-bit data block. This scheme can be extended on larger data blocks.

The animatronics technique could be very important fact of technique not only to achieve full completion of visible image but also to offer lots of chances to express images by merging CG, special effects and special devices. In this thesis, we design and implement the Zigbee-based wireless transceiver and communication program to control animal animatronics such as a dog and bear. The wireless control utilizing the Zigbee protocol is that electrically consumption is more small than the Bluetooth and reliability of data transmission is better. The implemented control systems and program have the normal and replay function for control of animal models. This functions and operability are tested by a designed animatronics prototype under the wireless environment.

DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2008.8.10.054
With the improvement of computer performance in Mobile Environments, the users demand for the multimedia player is getting higher, which will be the major force behind the wide distribution of the media player that allows several moving pictures to run simultaneously using multiple windows on the screen. Products that adopted the same method used for a single moving picture and yet support the several moving pictures simultaneously emerged; however, they are not immune from problems. In this paper, we propose method to solve the problems of blinking, play prioritization processor and semi-transparent processor that occur when appling several moving pictures to the method used for a single moving picture and suggested the possible solutions. Taking it one step further, it focused on design and implementation of the media player that allows several moving pictures using overlapping and overlay technique by recognizing the biggest problem, which is that the above media play is not supported when playing several moving pictures simultaneously.

DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2008.8.10.076
Prediction of travel time on road network is one of crucial research issue in dynamic route guidance system. A new approach based on Rule-Based classification is proposed for predicting travel time. This approach departs from many existing prediction models in that it explicitly consider traffic patterns during day time as well as week day. We can predict travel time accurately by considering both traffic condition of time range in a day and traffic patterns of vehicles in a week. We compare the proposed method with the existing prediction models like Link-based, Micro-T* and Switching model. It is also revealed that proposed method can reduce MARE (mean absolute relative error) significantly, compared with the existing predictors.

The interest in male osteoporosis is increasing as the incidence of osteoporotic fractures has increased not only in female but also in male due to the increase of old age population thanks to the development of medical science and science in general. Therefore, this study is to find factors related to bone mineral density of male older than 40 years old, to investigate the incidence of the male osteoporosis and to provide a basic result for prevention and medical treatment for the male osteoporosis. The incidence of the osteopenia and the osteoporosis at L-spine was 45% and 12.9% respectively and the incidence of them at femur was 51.9% and 7.63% respectively, among male older than 40 years old who took a medical examination. It was higher than the existing study results conducted to male older than 50 years old in USA and Europe. The incidence of them at both of L-spine and femur showed a significant difference depending the age groups. As the age increases, the average bone mineral density decreases at both of L-spine and femur. And as the weight increases and the body mass index is higher, the incidence of the osteoporosis decreases. There was no significant relation with the incidence of the osteoporosis depending on the exercise, the smoking and the drinking, but the number of exercise, smoking and drinking changes the quantity of bone and are factors influencing the bone mineral density of male person.

DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2008.8.10.251
This study was to investigate the effects of the combined patterns of PNF(proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation) on the static balance ability by 20 subjects for 6 weeks. The combined patterns of PNF were carried out by Sprinter and Skater suggested by Dietz which were practiced once a day, 3 times a week. This study were measured normal standing, one leg left and one leg right standing when eye open and close on GOOD BALANCE system. These result lead us to the conclusion that mean velocity of X,Y direction, COP velocity moment were showed a statically decrease applying post-exercise on Normal Standing Eye Open(NSEO), Normal Standing Eye Close(NSEC), One Leg Right Standing Eye Close(OLRSEC) and Just velocity of X direction were showed a statically decrease applying post-exercise on One Leg Right Standing Eye Close(OLRSEC). The above results from this study indicated that combined patterns of PNF have improved the static balance ability. However the used self-exercise ca be applied to normal people, i.e., the exercise is difficult to apply into clinical patients. The further study should be focused at development of various modified forms of the combined patterns of PNF in keeping up the improvement effect of the exercise.
Macroeconomic Effects of the Global Resource Crisis
Song, Tae-Jung ; Kim, Gi-Seung ;
The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 8, issue 10, 2008, Pages 259~267
DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2008.8.10.259
This research will examine the probabilities of future global resource crisis and what significance and effect will come upon our economy through the rise of the cost of resources. From now on, the lack of the supply of global resources will dull the world economic growth. Not only that, but the direction of each country's economic development will be decided by the appropriate measure to the resource crisis. If we are to sustain this inefficient industrial structure, as a country with high dependancy on foreign resources, Korea might face macroeconomic shock and the loss of industrial competitiveness. Therefore, we must increase the efficiency of the resource usage in the manufacturing industry such as the chemical and steel industry, and now is a period when we must add high value to our products. Henceforth, the structural constraints of supply will be the root cause of resource crisis. Thus, we must lead the subject of the economic agencies, such as companies and consumers, so that they will be able to adapt to a new paradigm called the fundamental lack of resources, rather than temporal crisis management. The Korean economy must adjust the environment for industry transformation to be achieved.

DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2008.8.10.373
The purpose of this study is to investigate how Korean EFL university students acquire an understanding of English tenses. To research this, we proposed two research questions of study as below. Firstly, what difference is there in English tense acquisition between an experimental group and a control group? Secondly, what difference is there in the English tense acquisition according to English proficiency? The subject of a sample survey was a 39 student experimental group and a 38 student control group, total 77 students, who take English courses as a required subject at 'C' university in Gwangju. The data needed for this study was obtained by the questionnaires with 40 questions about the English tense. The data analyzing method was t-test through the statistics program SPSS 12.0. There was a significant difference between the experimental group's tense acquisition ability and the control group's, even though low group showed no significant improvement in their tense acquisition ability. Studying English tense through reading led the students to be present in classes with interests, so the experimental group showed more academic accomplishments than the control group.

As computer technology is in progress and many educational methods have been emerged, web-based cooperative learning and educational games have gained a lot of interests. Some cooperative learning systems and game-based educational systems have been suggested, but few cooperative learning systems use games. This paper builds a new web-based cooperative learning system using games that enables learners to actively participate and have high interests in learning. In our system, cooperation study is performed in each group and a group member competes with other group members using games. A crossword puzzle game is adopted because of ease to use and fit with cooperative learning scenarios. Our suggested system is implemented and used by two classes of high school students to evaluate this system. The experimental results show that our system effectively improve students' learning interests and increase their academic achievement.
