DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2008.8.6.001
The paper is to solve the problem of existing sound system, which has difficulties of system organization and the increase of additional install cost and unfriendly interior. To solve the existing system, we drew the new sound system based on PLC and studied it. A transmitter and a receiver were designed using the PLC chip INT5500CS. Sound system was configured with a CD player that sound signals are sent from the transmitter and a speaker connected to the receiver. For analysis of characteristics of this system, a USBPre external sound card and Smaart Live 5 which is a PC-based sound measuring program were added. As a result of our experiment, the measured signal level is
[dB] lower than reference signal, latency is 16.69[ms] and the specific character of coherency is bad in high frequency band. Otherwise, this system transmits and receives signals over 90[%] in good condition as a result of measuring pink noise, frequency(1kHz), and phase, magnitude. In view of the result so far achieved, the system designed our team has excellent performance, it resolves defect of existing audio signal transmition system.

DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2008.8.6.008
In this paper, in order to analyze property of frequency response in optical microphone, system was implemented. The capacitance microphone and fiber-optic transmission path type fiber-optic microphone (FOM) have weaknesses in directivity, size, weight, and price. However suggested optical microphone can be constituted by cheap devices, so it has many benefits like small size, light weight, high directivity, etc. Head part of optical microphone which is suggested in this paper is movable back and forth by sound pressure with the attached reflection plate. Operating point is determined by measuring the respond characteristics and choosing the point on which has maximum linearity and sensitivity while changing the distance between optical head and vibrating plate. We measured the output of the O/E transformed signal of the optical microphone while frequency of sound signal is changed using sound measurement/analysis program, Smaart Live and USBPre, which are based on PC, and compared the result from an existing capacitance microphone. The measured Optical microphone showed almost similar output characteristics as those of the compared condenser microphone, and its bandwidth performance was about 300[Hz]-3[kHz] at up to 3 [dB].

DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2008.8.6.034
MAC(Medium Access Control) is demanded to provide end-to-end QoS(Quality of Service) for a variety of traffic in the wireless networks. When all the traffic is integrated in the channel, the main difficulty of the MAC protocol is how to efficiently support multi-class traffic in the limited bandwidth wireless channel. In this paper, we proposed the dynamic bandwidth slot method for improving QoS of the real time traffics. In this paper, we used in-band scheme to send dynamic parameter and considering buffer size and delay variation, we enabled 2 state bits to send to base station in mobile station. The proposed algorithm is to guarantee QoS of real time traffic and maximize transfer efficiency in wireless networks.

DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2008.8.6.043
Hyper text transfer protocol (HTTP) over transmission control protocol (TCP) is currently used to transfer objects in the Internet. Stream control transmission protocol (SCTP), an alternative to TCP, which allows for independent delivery among streams, and can thus reduce the mean response delay of web object. We present an analytical model to find the mean response delay for HTTP over SCTP, therefore, estimate the effectiveness of SCTP over TCP. Typical TCP delay models assume the wired environment. On the contrary, the proposed model in this paper assumes the multiple packet losses and wireless environment where fast retransmission is not possible due to small window. The estimated mean response time can be used the benchmark to meet quality of service (QoS) at end-user. We validate the accuracy of our model using experiments. It is shown that the differences between the results from model and those from experimental are very small below 6 % on average. We also find that the mean response delay for HTTP over SCTP is less than that for HTTP over TCP.

DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2008.8.6.054
When DDoS attack is achieved, malicious host discovering is more difficult on wireless network than existing wired network environment. Specially, because wireless network is weak on wireless user authentication attack and packet spoofing attack, advanced technology should be studied in reply. Integrated Access Device (IAD) that support VoIP communication facility etc with wireless routing function recently is developed and is distributed widely. IAD is alternating facility that is offered in existent AP. Therefore, advanced traffic classification function and real time attack detection function should be offered in IAD on wireless network environment. System that is presented in this research collects client information of wireless network that connect to IAD using AirSensor. And proposed mechanism also offers function that collects the wireless client`s attack packet to monitoring its legality. Also the proposed mechanism classifies and detect the attack packet with W-TMS system that was received to IAD. As a result, it was possible for us to use IAD on wireless network service stably.

The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 8, issue 6, 2008, Pages 66~73
DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2008.8.6.066
The concept of u-Vehicle is a technological model that people try to build the ubiquitous world in the car which moves, by using the RFID technology as well as the telematics service based on the location. RFID is weak on the point of information security because RFID has possibility for being abused such as chasing, counterfeiting, and invading personal privacy. RFID`s tags use a weak cryptographic algorithm. This paper presents the vulnerabilities of information security under u-Vehicle environments. To solve that, we propose a mechanism enhancing RFID tag`s security but with low cost by reducing the number of mutual authentication stages and using the hash function.

DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2008.8.6.074
Protein interaction network contains a small number of highly connected protein, denoted hub and many destitutely connected proteins. Recently, several studies described that a hub protein is more likely to be essential than a non-hub protein. This phenomenon called as a centrality-lethality rule. This nile is widely credited to exhibit the importance of hub proteins in the complex network and the significance of network architecture as well. To confirm whether the rule is accurate, we Investigated all protein interaction DBs of yeast in the public sites such as Uetz, Ito, MIPS, DIP, SGB, and BioGRID. Interestingly, the protein network shows that the rule is correct in lower scale DBs (e.g., Uetz, Ito, and DIP) but is not correct in higher scale DBs (e.g., SGD and BioGRID). We are now analyzing the features of networks obtained from the SGD and BioGRD and comparing those of network from the DIP.

With the help of information technology The problem of building a concrete form with a shapeless media is the starting point of presenting information by means of sound. Audio-Visual System using sound as a medium is a method that presents an auditory material visually and has a role of linking different sensory organs. In a sense, Audio-Visual System transfers a non-concrete sensation to a concrete one. Audio-Visual System presentation by late methods using active and non-active images produced by computerized irregular procedures can be limited because of the limited ways of visual output. On the other side, visualization using active images can induce more diverse expressions using sound as a medium. This study suggests a new way of expression in animations using visualization of various auditory materials and sounds built by Audio-Visual System with active images.

An author of a paper is represented as his/her personal name in a bibliographic record. However, the use of names to indicate authors may deteriorate recall and precision of paper and/or author search, since the same name can be shared by many different individuals and a person can write his/her name in different forms. To solve this problem, it is required to disambiguate same-name author names into different persons. As features for author resolution, previous studies have exploited bibliographic attributes such as co-authors, titles, publication information, etc. This study attempts to apply email addresses of authors to disambiguate author names. For this, we first handle the extraction of email addresses from full-text papers, and then evaluate and analyze the effect of email addresses on author resolution using a large-scale test set.
