Ahn, Eun-Young ; Kim, Jae-Won ; Han, Sang-Hoon ; Moon, Chan-Il ;
The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 9, issue 11, 2009, Pages 1~9
DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2009.9.11.001
In virtual environments, such as computer game and animation, we need to enhance naturalness of crowd simulation. So, we propose a method to generate dynamically moving crowd patterns by applying emotional factors to the individual characters of a crowd in the determination of their behavior. The proposed method mimics human behavior and controls each character in a group to decide its own path according to its individual status. And it is able to generate various moving patterns as a result of letting the individuals go to another group depending upon their conditions. In this paper, some temperament and feeling factors are defined and determination rules for calculating the emotional status are also proposed. Moreover we use a fuzzy theory for accurate representation of the ambiguous expressions such as feeling bad, feeling good and so on. Our experiments show that the suggested method can simulate virtual crowd in more natural and diverse ways.

The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 9, issue 11, 2009, Pages 10~17
DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2009.9.11.010
Wyner-Ziv video coding is a new video compression paradigm based on distributed source coding theory of Slepian-Wolf and Wyner-Ziv. Wyner-Ziv coding enables light-encoder/heavy-decoder structure by shifting complex modules including motion estimation/compensation task to the decoder. Instead of performing the complicated motion estimation process in the encoder, the Wyner-Ziv decoder performs the motion estimation for the generation of side information in order to make the predicted signal of the Wyner-Ziv frame. The efficiency of side information generation deeply affects the overall coding performance, since the bit-rates of the Wyner-Ziv coding is directly dependent on side information. In this paper, an improved side information generation method using field coding is proposed. In the proposed method, top fields are coded with the existing SI generation method and bottom fields are coded with new SI generation method using the information of the top fields. Simulation results show that the proposed method improves the quality of the side information and rate-distortion performance compared to the conventional method.

DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2009.9.11.018
Image resolution enhancement algorithm is a basic technique for image enlargement and restoration. The main problem is the image quality degradation such as blurring or blocking effects. In this paper, we propose loss information estimation and image resolution enhancement method using low level interpolation method. In the proposed method, loss information is computed by downsampling -interpolation process of obtained low resolution image. We estimate loss information of high resolution image using interpolation of the computed loss information. Lastly, we add up interpolated high resolution image and the estimated loss information which is applied a weight factor. Our experiments obtained the average PSNR 1.4dB which is improved results better than conventional algorithm. Also subjective image quality is more clearness and distinctness. The proposed method may be helpful for various video applications which required improvement of image.

DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2009.9.11.027
Standard electronic tax invoice is a document standard for electronically exchanging tax invoices, which have been used in the form of paper for proofing business transactions. This standard focuses on the aspect of exchanging electronic documents between businesses and between businesses and NTS(National Tax Service), so it is limited in expressing semantics and contexts of financial information explicitly and economically for reusing them after their exchanges. Above all, it is needed to consider that they can be employed to various applications of businesses including financial reporting and auditing because they contain basic financial information about taxes and that they are reported to NTS. In this perspective, this paper compares and analyzes how to compose standard electronic tax invoice documents in XBRL with concrete examples, focused on the expressability and applicability, and discusses the possibility of XBRL-based standard electronic tax invoices.

To avoid the redundant investment on the project selection process, it is necessary to check whether the submitted research topics have been proposed or carried out at other institutions before. This is possible through the search engines adopted by the keyword matching algorithm which is based on boolean techniques in national-sized research results database. Even though the accuracy and speed of information retrieval have been improved, they still have fundamental limits caused by keyword matching. This paper examines implemented TFIDF-based algorithm, and shows an experiment in search engine to retrieve and give the order of priority for similar and redundant documents compared with research proposals, In addition to generic TFIDF algorithm, feature weighting and K-Nearest Neighbors classification methods are implemented in this algorithm. The documents are extracted from NDSL(National Digital Science Library) web directory service to test the algorithm.

The literatures related to the policy of China online game industry and the present condition of the wholistic restriction are reviewed and the standard and procedure of the review of China online game which is veiled was able to find definitely by using the case study on Korean company which was a great success as localization in China. As a result of this study, we found that the key factor on the review standard of China online game is the anti-social personality, such as 'the overthrow of Chinese socialist system', 'the territorial issue as the eviction of Hong Kong or the acknowledgment of Taiwan government', 'independence problem of the minorities', and 'damage to property as national treasure', et cetera. While the review of the homemade game in China takes about a month through just two steps in review process on online game, that of foreign game is required over at least three months through four steps in it. Moreover, it is difficult for foreign games to obtain the license due to total amount regulation for online game by 'General Administration of Press and Publication of the People's the Republic of China'. In the case of the joint-venture company, it is most important to the smooth communication between Korean company and Chinese company in order to overcome these strong regulation for online game review in China. Furthermore, as Chinese company in outward appearance it is need to be positioned absolutely in Chinese marketplace. The definite positioning strategy enables foreign companies to avoid the strong regulation about the foreign game in China. To understand, finally, deeply politics, society, and culture presented in Chinese ethics textbook permits the foreign companies to predict the exact standard of the review for online game. DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2009.9.11.163
The first Chinese film maker from Korean ethnicity, Jang Ryul is also the first Korean director from Chinese background. As a diaspora himself, he crosses over two countries, trying to look through diaspora viewpoint at diaspora phenomena widely scattered in Northeast Asia. This paper is written in an effort to closely consider his story and style through 3 films,
. The main character in
is a Korean Chinese woman, Choi Sun Hee, who sells Kimchi in outskirt of a city.
is the story about the relationship between Hangai, a Mongolian man who plants trees in deserted prairie and North Korean mother and son in defection from North Korea.
treats a group of characters floating around in Iri, the city that was vanished by the explosion 30 years ago. The first thing of the style of Jang Ryul building the diaspora viewpoint is time, crossing the floating space. The second one is the inversion of on-screen space and off-screen space or center and periphery. The third one is the absence of language. Given the fact that discourses about the identity of East Asia flourish these days, his movies, as the fruit of consistent attempt to search for East Asian identity within the filmmaking process, deserve more attentions.

This study is the full-scale research of a TV drama writer, who has been out of scholarly pursuits, examining the differentiality and tendency of the most popular TV drama writer, Su-Hyeon Kim. By focusing on her recent melodrama
, this study shows that the writer used her own category grammar, 'pursuit of psychology' and 'reversal of dichotomy', which led her to convey the drama's message of the 'self-reflection' on love successfully. This analysis would be the good result of overcoming all the raised melodrama's negative elements in Koran TV such as conventionality, dichotomy, unreality, and excessive emotion. Also this paper presents that the writer showed an advanced tendency on the gender ideology, overthrowing the existing patriarchal gender ideology. This study proposes the further research to analyze what sort of influence is the writer's own category grammar. Also this study proposes the following research on that the writer's advanced tendency in melodrama could applicate the other genre drama of her's, stressing the necessity of sustaining research work on TV drama writer.
1960's Acting Method of Experimental Theater
Park, Ho-Young ;
The Journal of the Korea Contents Association, volume 9, issue 11, 2009, Pages 184~191
DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2009.9.11.184
Ideas regarding acting among new theater groups In the 1960s can be summarized in two major trends. The first trend was characterized with the pursuit of identity in a play. The second trend was characterized with the pursuit of creating a play that strongly and passionately explores internal human reality. In their pursuit of the goal of the second trend, they shockingly and strongly destroyed anything by rising in revolt against the existing spatial language. They believed that acting beyond acting as pursued by Stanislavski is not to implant a new type of human, but to develop the self hidden within the actor or to remove the actor's mask. Based on such recognition, the first thing that actors have to do is to remove or break free from the shell or skin that surrounds them. Accordingly, they sought a method that helped them act while taking off their shell or mask during acting and finally got the answer from "improvisation." One thing with improvisation is its way of stimulating the unconscious world of the actors in order to allow them to strongly express the hidden instinctive emotion from deep within them.

Market in the 21st century innovative products is not the same as marketing traditional products and services. Whether for survival or to sustain market leadership, Design Marketing Strategy is the key in the new era of world competition. Design Strategies are also more critical issues in the future, because most business and firms depend on successful design project. In order to effectively bring creative professional output to market, design leaders who can use design intelligence to shape the future of their organizations and business must evidence marketing strategy technology, creative and managerial skill. Design Management links design and related business activities into a creative and coordinated strategy for creating value and sustainable advantage for the firm. Design education has focused primarily in the training of professional designers within their specific disciplines. But it dose not provide training in the management skills necessary to effectively lead a design project team. Most design colleges do not provide any integrated education in leadership and team building, strategy, finance, marketing or project management. This is the time that Design Management Program should be prepared to provide design students who want to manage design project in creative industry. The program has to be prepared to provide all the business skills and information that design students need to know in an upper-level undergraduate school. The Program's goal is to graduate design leaders able to strategically manage a design project for the challenge of managing in the 21st century.

Proliferation of high performance internet infrastructures finally allows their users download a single copy of regular movie just within in a couple of seconds. Ease of accesses to the software for downloading consequently leads them insensitive to the ethics or legitimacy of their conduct. Thus, strong legal action is enforced for piracy over nationally through strengthen the copyright law. We in this paper conducted a survey to see whether netizens prefer to download just for the matter of their convenience. Whilst the level of awareness is addressed even in a far-fetched manner in the area of music piracy and computer software piracy, the case of movie is much different in that we even fail to find any survey that has been made for movie piracy. The survey has been made by devising questionnaires for netizens and it was posted web WorldSurvey, which is the most prominent online survey site in Korea. To our surprise, 9 out of 10 respondents expressed they actually resort to illegal downloading for the reason of convenience. We realized one more surprise. More than 95% of netizens conspicuously aware of their downloading behaviors are mischievous and illegal without reservation.

This study suggested that the table of CT-simulator and the laser alignment system using diagnostic CT scanner have an efficient method for improvement in alignment between the planned target center of traverse image with CT scanner. It was conducted on the daily QA when presented in the AAPM TG66 with correcting the laser alignment system using geometric trigonometric functions and investigated the effectiveness of correction methods as compared with those before and after correction. Before correction error was 3.82mm between the planned target center of image, the table longitudinal axis was twisted with 0.436o. The laser alignment system using geometric trigonometric functions in after correction was satisfied with tolerance limits of
when occurred about 0.7mm in errors between the planned target center. The table correction to satisfy the geometric accuracy is very inefficient over against the time and economic loss as well as technical limits in the case of application as only radiation therapy associated with CT-simulator with diagnostic CT scanner in use. But, the method which corrects the laser alignment system is economic and relatively simple with possibility of getting well geometric accuracy and we suppose that it is efficient method for applying in the clinic.

Frozen shoulder is clinically characterized by pain and reduced ROM. The therapeutic goal of frozen shoulder can be reducing pain and increasing ROM in shoulder joint, resulting in improvement of joint movement. Therefore, this study was conducted to know the effect of mobilization in parallel with conservative physical therapy(H/P, TENS, U/S) in patients with frozen shoulder on subjective pain scale and ROM. 26 patients diagnosed with frozen shoulder were included for study. Among them, 13 patients(experiment group) were managed by mobilization as well as conservative physical therapy, another 13 patients(control group) were only treated by conservative physical therapy alone. All the patients were treated three times a week for 4 weeks, and after each treatment subjective pain scale and ROM were measured. In experimental group, pain has decreased and ROM has increased in abduction, external rotation and internal rotation. In control group, pain has also decreased but ROM has not changed in abduction, external rotation and internal rotation. There were no significant difference in subjective pain scale between two groups but some difference in ROM (external rotation, internal rotation). According to the results, we concluded that both conservative physical therapy and joint mobilization technique are more effective for increasing ROM especially external rotation, internal rotation than conservative physical therapy alone.

DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2009.9.11.289
In this study, I presented power control unit with potential use in the magnetic stimulation of biological systems. The effect of the magnetic stimulation depends on the geometry and orientation of the induced electric field as well as on the current pulse waveform delivered by the stimulator coil. TMS is achieved from the outside of the head using pulses of electromagnetic field that induce an electric field in the brain. There are numerous possibities in the applications TMS, such as diagnosis and therapy through the brain stimulation. These factors are very important to define the equipment requirements and characteristics in that the topology of the power supply and the size and geometry of the coil. The proposed solution is the generation of current pulses with variable amplitude and duration, according to a user defined input. Another solution is the topology that uses elements to store and transfer energy from the power source to the load. In addition to proposed topology, an adequate control strategy and right set of the power circuit parameters made possible to obtain unipolar waves and bipolar waves.

To overcome article-oriented search functions and provide author-oriented ones, a namesake problem for author names should be solved. Author disambiguation, proposed as its solution, assigns identifiers of real individuals to author name entities. Although recent state-of-the-art approaches to author disambiguation have reported above 90% performance, there are few academic information services which adopt author-resolving functions. This paper describes a large-scale test set for author disambiguation which was created by KISTI to foster author resolution researches. The result of these researches can be applied to academic information systems and make better service. The test set was constructed from DBLP data through web searches and manual inspection, Currently it consists of 881 author names, 41,673 author name entities, and 6,921 person identifiers.

DOI : 10.5392/JKCA.2009.9.11.465
To measure the amount of nonpoint source pollution, some efforts are tried to utilize satellite imagery. But, as the factors for water models do not relate with the landcover categories for satellite imagery, satellite imagery are adapted to roughly classified thematic map or used only for the image interpretation. The purpose of this study is to establish the landcover categories of satellite imagery to relate with the water models. To establish the categories of the landcover for the water models, it was investigated to get main factors of water flow models for the nonpoint source pollution and to review the existing study and the classification system. For this result, it was convinced that the basic unit on the nonpoint source pollution, landcover coefficients of SCS Curve Number, the crop factor of Universal Soil Loss Equation, Manning's roughness coefficients are the useful parameters to extract information from the satellite imagery. After the setup the categories for the landcover classification, it was finally defined from the consultation of the water model specialist. Woopo wetland watershed was selected to the study area because it is a representative wetland in Korea and needs the management system for nonpoint source pollution. There were used Landsat ETM Plus and SPOT-5 satellite imagery to assess the result of the image classification.
