An Analysis of Productivity according to the Actual Conditions of Dental Laboratory Technician

The factors which impact on the productivity of medical organization are technique, manager, raw materials, management style, manpower structure, job construction, and so on. Human resources is the most important factor among them, but the productivity of serice organization can not be measured easily. The purpose of this study was to verify the effect of laboratory status, the degree of job cognition, and stress on the productivity of dantal prosthetic products, and to fine out the factors which impact on the productivity. The results were as follows: 1. The job characteristice of crown bridge laboratory part and porcelain laboratory part similar to each other. Also partial denture laboratory part and complete denture laboratory part were similar to each other. But that of orthodontic laboratory part was different from other. 2. the degree of job cognition made significant difference statisfically according to job characteristics of each dental laboratorise. 3. The correlation coefficient between job cognition of dental laboratory technician and workshop environment was.23, but the correlation between job cognition job stress appeared reversely, its coefficient was-.17. 4. The productivity of technician engaged in dental laboratory was much heigher than that of technician engaged in dental clinical laboratory room, and each were different in the degree of job cognition. 5. the most important factors which impact one the performance productivity of dental laboratory technician were the fact whether he married or not and his status.
The experimental research on the castability of non precious metal alloy which is use for the production of crown and bridge prosthetics(III) - The change of castability and physical properties according to the recasting. -

The purpose of this investigation was to determine the effect of recasting on the castability and physical properties of the nonprecious metal alloy. Using 2 sorts of the nonprecious metal alloy for production of Crown and Bridge prosthetics, such as 1) sankin C. B 80 metal 2) C & B alloy, the result of experimental research on the castability and hardness according to the recasting, is as followes; 1. The difference of castability between sankin CB80 metal and C & B alloy was statistically significant (p < 0.01) and the difference of castability among the test groups, was statistically significant (p <0.01). 2. In the case of sankin C.B 80 metal, the difference of castability among the New alloy and first mixed alloy and second mixed alloy and old alloy was not significant statistically (p >0.05). 3. In the case of C & B alloy, the difference of castability among the New alloy and mixed alloys and old alloy, was not significant statistically (p >0.05). 4. The difference of hardness between sankin C & B alloy was not significant statistically (p >0.05), but the difference of hardness among the test groups was statistically significant (p <0.01). 5. In the case of Sankin C.B 80 metal, the difference of hardness among the new ally and mixed alloys and old alloy was not significant statistically (p >0.05). 6. In the case of C & B alloy, the difference of hardness between New alloy and mixed alloys was not significant statistically (p >0.05) but the difference of hardness among the old alloy and New alloy and mixed alloys was statistically significant (p <0.01).

An Experimental Study on the Bond Strength after Surface Treatment of Non-precious Metal Alloy for porcelain Crown

This study done to evaluate some surface treatment methods in metal coping which can increase the bond strength between porcelain and metal. Therefore this experiment was performed according to the Mc Lean's Theory of bond strength between porcelain and strength between porcelain and metal. In the experiment the author measured respective thermal expansion coefficents in three types of metal(Tallasium, Vera Bond and Rexillium) and Vita Porcelain to get the differences in the coefficents between porcelain and metals. And using insteron testing machine, the author also performed Planar interface shear bond tests on the 45 specimens(15 specimens in oxide surface, rough surface and fine surface treatment methods respectively) to measure bond strength between metal and porcelain. The results Were as follows, 1. The differences in thermal expansion coefficients between three types of metal and Vita procelain: Talladium -

. 2. The bond strength in oxide surface on the Shear bond test was the lowest among the treatment methods. 3. There was no significant differences in treatment methods of rough surface of fine surface. 4. In the oxide surface treatment method, there were significant differences(P<0.05)between Vera bond and Rexillium, and between Talladium and Rexillium. 5. In the fine surface treatment, there was a significant difference(P<0.05)between Talladium and Rexillium.
The effect of retention grooves in Acrylic resin tooth denture base bond

One of the primary advantages of acrylic resin teeth is their ability to bond chemically to the denture base resins. Fracture od acrylic resin teeth from a maxillary denture, however, is not uncommon. Bonding failures have been attributed to faulty boil-out procedures that fail to eliminate all traces of wax from the ridge lap surfaces of the teeth and to contamination of the ridge lap surface by careless application of tinfoil substitute. Attempts to increase the strength of the bond between acrylic resin teeth and heat-cured denture base resin include grinding the glossy ridge lap surface (in fluid system), painting the ridgelap surface of the teeth with monomer-polymer solution, and cutting retention grooves in the ridge lap surface of the teeth. This latter method has been tested by applying a tensile force in a labial direction to the incisal part of the lingual surface of the acrylic resin teeth. A progressive shear compressive load was applied at an angle to the lingual surface of acrylic resin teeth bonded to denture base acrylic resin. No statistically singificant advantage was derived by preparing retention grooves of different shapes in the ridgelap surface of the denture teeth.
Survey of the Training and Employment Status of Dental Technicians in Korea(II)

In order to ascertain the aspects of the dental technicians training system which require improvement, and also to provide important data for use in setting up dental technicians manpower planning, our country's dental technicians training and employment status has been studied and analyzed. The objects of the survey are 2,315 dental technicians, the total number of persons licensed by The Ministry of Health and Social Affairs from 1965 to 1986. The results were as follows: 1. Education organs for dental technicians are education system such as health junior college and service training systems and 1,706 technicians have come from health junior college in our country. 2. Total number of employment of dental technicians employed in our country are, 1,541 and 406 of them are engaged in Seoul. So unbalanced employment of dental technicians will be troubled in a future. 3. All registrated to government are 4,847 till 1986, and 1,541 of them engaged are that is, we can suppose about employment of dental technicians in a future, 12,231 dental technicians will registrate to Health and Social Administration on 1996 and 3,530 of them will be able to take their job in Korea.
A Study on the Dimensional Changes through the Curing Method of Denture

This experimental study presented the study on the dimensional changes of occuring for the denture curing methods. The method is as follows: 1. The master die was made of wax. 2. The Silicon Rubber Mold was made into the same 80 casts. 3. The 80 Wax Plate were made of using the Base Plate Wax. 4. Flasking, Wax-wash, & Resin-packing were performed by the general procedures. 5. The curing method is performed through the four curing methods. (A, B, C, D). Table 2 shows the dimensional change after a day. Table 3 shows the dimensional change after soaking for 30 days in water of the degree of 36 Centigrade. As a result, the A curing method is the most denture curing.

According as the density of prosthetic by casting among the prosthetic restorations is increasing now, the definition and the bounds as to the casting, the method of making the right casting and the establishment of concepts about a minute report and so on, the establishment of the basic principles like those are unavoidable, and then the casting shrinkage must be compensated by setting expansion thermal expansion. Hygroscopic expansion in making the good casting types as we demonstrated that already asbestos lining. We confirmed the fact that the considerable concern about the surface tension and the gas inspiration? Is necessary in making better the casting.
