Analysis of Satisfaction Level Regarding Removable Dentures for Aged Patients in Dental Hospitals or Clinics

This study investigated the satisfaction level of aged patients over sixty five years old or over who were treated in a dental hospital or clinic in the metropolitan area. The difference in satisfaction level by general characteristics of aged patients and characteristics related to the treatment as well as the correlation of satisfaction level by each factors with the overall satisfaction level of the treatment were analyzed, resulting as follows. 1. . 2. There were no significant difference in general and functional satisfaction level by each factors from the population statistic of the participants. Aesthetic satisfaction level differed by the educational background(p=0.01). 3. There were no significant difference in general and aesthetic satisfaction level by the oral health condition as well as the treatment quality. Functional satisfaction level differed by the oral health condition(p=0.01). 4. The correlation of satisfaction level by each factors with the overall satisfaction level of the treatment differed as follows. In case each factors were satisfactory, the overall result of the treatment marked satisfactory as well. However, in case each factors were dissatisfactory, the overall result of the treatment marked dissatisfactory showing difference with the above result(p=0.000). 5. Each factor showed statistically positive correlation. Functional satisfaction level and general satisfaction level showed the highest correlation(r=0.677).
Satisfaction with Department Selection and Changes in a Sense of Employment Among Some Students Majoring in Dental Hygiene

The purpose of this study was to examine and analyze motivation of entrance into the college, knowledge prior to the entrance, satisfaction with their major, and a sense of employment after graduation among students majoring in dental hygiene at some colleges and subdivide them by grades for comparative analysis to determine the progress of changes in general characteristics, department satisfaction, and a sense of employment among students majoring in dental hygiene for the recent three years and provide basic data for improving dental hygienic education. Questionnaires were distributed to 520 students majoring in dental hygiene at some college in South Chungcheong, South Jeolla, and North Jeolla Provinces, followed by explanation of the purport of the research and the content of the questionnaire; after completion, 513 copies were used for analysis with exception of 7 copies with insincere responses. The analysis of the data examined resulted in the following conclusions: First, Changes in Department Satisfaction among Students Majoring in Dental Hygiene As for motivation of entrance into a college, less and less students chose the department of dental hygiene through recommendation by parents or seniors while more and more students chose their major due to easy employment. Less and less students obtained information on the department from a college application guidebook while more and more students obtained it through Internet. There was also a gradual increase in prior knowledge about the department and in satisfaction with their major. More and more students had no will to change their course. Second, Changes in a Sense of Employment among Students Majoring in Dental Hygiene There was a gradual decrease in the number of students who would follow friends' or their own decision in selecting workplace but an increase in the number of those who would follow their professors' opinion. There was a gradual increase in the number of students who wanted to be employed in workplace with good social perception; many students wanted to be employed in a personal dental clinic, a general hospital, or a public health center; and more and more students also wanted to be employed in a school dental health center or to become a government official or an educator.
A study of dental hygiene students on school subject degree of recognition before admission and satisfaction

A purpose of this study is degree of recognition and consciousness investigation about a satisfaction duty before admission about a school subject of some academic dental hygiene students. From responses to individual written survey questionnaires answered by 608 students who are studying Dental Hygiene at colleges in Mokpo, Iksan, Gangneung. The following are the results regarding their satisfaction levels with their majors and their interest in working abroad: 1. Regarding the motivating factors to major in Dental Hygiene, most students(51.3%), particularly most freshmen(57.3%), have chosen this major because of more job opportunities than students with other majors. The most common source of information in choosing majors is the Internet(30.8%). 2. Most students do not want to change their majors even if they are provided with the chance to do so(65.5%). They are in general satisfied with their studies. The result shows that the Dental Hygiene majors are positive toward their major. 3. Most students will choose their jobs by their own choices(40.6%), and the most important factor in their choices is the opportunity of self-growth and development(33.1%). The survey results show that the Dental Hygiene students value their own decisions and self-realization. 4. Showed the difference that as a result of having seen a knowledge degree advance a school subject of major in Dental Hygiene by a school year and ash students, an admission motive, relevance of an information acquisition path, all noted. 5. And were able to see the difference that noted in an adviser, work selection bases in case of work selection whether or not there was a dissatisfaction reason about a major and a criminal record.
Study on factors of oral health behaviors of dental hygiene department and general college

This study attempts to provide basic information that is necessary to establish the direction of oral health education process abd to develop effective oral health promoting programs for college students by analyzing the modifying factors that may affect their oral health behaviors and their cognitive and perceptive factors. Data for this study are collected by the questionnaire method from college students who attend colleges located Chungchong and Busan province for the period between June 20, 2006 and July 30, 2006. The respondents were chosen from Dental department and Non-Dental department. After omitting the responses with insufficient information, 409 valid responses are used for this analysis. The major finding of the present study are as follows: 1. Oral health behaviors factor is higher rate dental department than non-dental department, dental department than non-dental department appear significant the oral health education, the lasted year round oral examination, the used of oral hygiene supplies, oral prevention treatment. 2. Oral health behaviors and perception-awareness factor is higher score dental department than non-dental department and self efficiency is similar. Oral health behaviors is higher score dental department, the barriers to oral health behaviors is similar. The benefits of oral health behavior is higher score dental department. 3. The oral health behavior is higher dental department. In dental department the overall average score for oral health behaviors question is the correct teeth-brushing, self-restraint of liquor and cigarettes. Non dental department the overall average score for oral health behaviors question is the correct teeth brushing, good nutrition. The lower average score is scaling and periodic oral examination. 4. The correlation coefficient analysis between oral health behaviors and perception-awareness factors, variables which appear significant correlation coefficient by the self-efficiency are the control of oral health, the benefits of oral health behaviors, behavior of oral health, variables which appear significant correlation coefficient by the control of oral health are the benefits of oral health behaviors, the knowledge of oral health, behavior of oral health. And variables which appear significant correlation coefficient by the barriers to oral health behaviors is the benefits of oral health behaviors, variables which appear significant correlation coefficient by the knowledge of oral health is oral health behaviors.
A Survey on Related of College Women's Smoking experience in a Certain Area and their Awareness of Oral Health

This study is designed to take a look at college women's understanding of the actual condition of their smoking and the harmfulness of their smoking, to make an analysis of smoking factors affecting oral health and to present basic materials for the development of oral health education programs. Self-administered questionnaires were given to the subjects from May 22 through June 2, 2003. The results were as follows. 1. 71.7 percent of the subjects said that they had no experience. 16.7 percent of them said that they had had experience. 11.6 percent of them said that they are now smoking. The oftener they don't live with their parents, the more monthly money they had, the more smoking experience they had(p<0.001). 2. 37.4 percent of the subjects said that they brush their teeth three times a day. And 52.2 percent of them said that they brush their teeth after smoking. 3. The rate of using dental floss and interdental brushes accounts for 46.5%, and the ratio of having tartar scaled from their teeth accounts for 45.5%. There was no significant difference in accordance with smoking or nonsmoking. 4. The subjects with no smoking experience(76.0%) thought that they had better teeth condition than their counterparts(64.3%). But there was no significant difference. 5. 56.5 percent of the subjects responded that their dental condition was related to their smoking, but 43.5 percent of them said that it was not.
Study on Dental Health Knowledge and Behavior of Mothers

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze level of dental health knowledge and behavior of mothers, health educators should encourage mother to have continuous dental care habits for lifelong dental health with practical education. Methods: The subjects in this study were 490 mothers of four-year, fifth-year and sixth-year from elementary school in Daegu areas. The data was collected through a structured questionnaire from 26, June to 27, June 2006. Collected data were analyzed into frequency and Chi-square test using SPSS 10.0 program. Result: First, no statistically significant relations were found between mothers, knowledge with general characteristics of subject(age, degree of education, yes or no of occupation, subjective economy). Second, mothers, number of toothbrushing were statistically significant relations with degree of education, yes or no of occupation as over three times a day. Third, no statistically significant relations were between visiting frequency of dental clinic for one years with general characteristics of subject(age, degree of education, yes or no of occupation, subjective economy). Fourth, yes or no of use in auxiliary oral hygiene device were statistically significant relations with degree of education, yes or no of occupation, subjective economy. Fifth, mothers, knowledge were statistically significant relations with auxiliary oral hygiene device.
Views about the degree of recognition of dental hygiene of elementary school teachers - The object of study: elementary school teachers in city of Daegu -

In order to establish basic data before deciding on the ways to manage school dental hygiene project, this study polled 165 elementary school teachers. Collected data was used SPSS 12.0 statistics program and got the technical statistics and This research and analysis came to the following conclusion by using Fridmen rank test, Pearson's correlation. 1. To the question about how they acquire the knowledge of dental hygiene, 60.6 percent of elementary school teachers turned out to learn about it through mass media(TV, Internet, magazines). 2. Regarding the purpose to maintain dental hygiene, "the prevention of dental diseases" ranked highest, and next "the prevention of cavity" and "the cure of halitosis" appeared at the similar level, and "to become a good model of children" and "to serve the esthetic purpose" ranked lowest. 3. As to the ways to prevent cavity, regular visits to dental clinic and daily brushing turned out to be more effective preventation method. 4. As for the degree of recognition of fluoride, the correct answer about fluoride that is recovered slight caries is appeared 11.8%, that was lowest correct answer ratio.
