A Study on the Verification Scheme of SMS Encoding and Decoding Module

This paper proposes a test method for compliance of SMS encoder and decoder modules with 3GPP (3rd Generation Partnership Project) specification on SMS PDU (Protocol Data Unit). The existing tools have focused on providing an SMS gateway and on helping to view and edit a single SMS PDU, which rarely help to resolve the compliance test problem. The proposed compliance test method is based on an automatic generation of SMS PDUs fully compliant with the 3GPP specification by using QuickCheck library written in Haskell. By applying the proposed method to a C-based SMS encoder and decoder in Linux Mobile platform, we have found out several critical bugs such as wrong interpretation of time stamps in BCD format. The automatic SMS PDU generator is reusable in that it only depends on the 3GPP SMS specification. The QuickCheck library is also applicable for testing other network protocol data encoders and decoders, as used in this paper.
A Study of Baby Sleeping Positions Sensing and Safety Band Using an Accelerometer

In this paper, it introduced the device that was fabricated for monitoring sleeping positions of infants with 3-axis accelerometer. Sleep monitoring studies has been usually conducted two ways. To monitor sleeping posture by installing a camera and then recording of sleep in the sleeping room continuously is the first one. The other one is monitoring pressure sensor's results data for sleeping. Those two ways' benefits are that are able to get relatively accurate sleeping posture data but, there are many disadvantages like constraints of spaces and places, the installation of sensors or cameras, and high cost. In addition, it has a lot of problems that difficult to solve. For babies, it's not easy to apply, as well as uncomfortable. The proposed method uses a 3-axis accelerometer's X axis, Y axis, Z axis position output values in order to recognize the bad ground sleeping position that use of the buzzer alarm. This method uses a 3-axis acceleration sensor to measure the data and transmit sleeping posture using Bluetooth wireless in real time monitoring. The data is helpful for prevention safety hazard such as choked themselves when they slept back side on.
A Rapid Region-of-Interest Processing Technique using Mask Patterns for JPEG2000

An region of interest processing technique is to handle preferentially some part of an image dynamically according to region of interest of the users in JPEG2000 image. A small image is not important, but in a big image the specified region that the user indicated has to be handled preferentially because it takes long time to display the whole image. If the user indicates a region of the outline image, the browser masks the region and sends the mask information to the source that transmitted the image. The server which got the mask information preferentially sends the code blocks matching the masks. Here, quickly generating mask information is important, so, in this paper using predefined 48 mask patterns, selecting one of the patterns according to the distribution of ROI(Region-of-Interest) and background, we remarkably reduced the time computing the mask region. Blocks that the patterns are applied are the blocks mixed of ROI and background in a block. If a whole block is an ROI or a background, these patterns are not applied. As results, comparing to the method that precisely handles ROI and background, the quality is unsatisfactory but the processing time remarkably reduced.
Color Recognition and Phoneme Pattern Segmentation of Hangeul Using Augmented Reality

While diversification of the use of video in the prevalence of cheap video equipment, augmented reality can print additional real-world images and video image. Although many recent advent augmented reality techniques, currently attempting to correct the character recognition is performed. In this paper characters marked with a visual marker recognition, and the color to match the marker color of the characters finds. And, it was shown on the screen by the character recognition. In this paper, by applying the phoneme pattern segmentation algorithm by the horizontal projection, we propose to segment the phoneme to match the six types of Hangul representation. Throughout the experiment sample of phoneme segmentation using augmented reality showed proceeding result at each step, and the experimental results was found to be that detection rate was above 90%.
Message Filtering for Effective Push Service in BlazeDS

In general, an HTTP server sends information in response to requests from clients. Since it does not support active information delivery to clients, it can not efficiently provide the rapidly changing information to clients. Overcoming this shortcoming of the HTTP protocol, the technology known as server push enables the HTTP server to actively provide information to clients without explicit requests from clients. Adobe BlazeDS is a web server supporting the server push technology, helping users to develop web-based push applications. Unfortunately, since the BlaseDS server have no functions of filtering the information to be pushed according to various types of users, there are difficulties in developing push applications handling various situations in a efficient way. In this paper, to support effective development of push applications on BlazeDS we present the methods of adding a message filtering facility to BlazeDS and utilizing it. According to the filtering request of clients, the message filtering facility modifies information to be pushed, sending the modified information to the clients. The extended BlazeDS server with the message filtering facility provides environments to easily develop push services customized for various clients with their own situations.
Cross-Layer Optimized Resource Allocation Scheme for OFDMA based Micro Base Stations

In this paper, a joint PHY-MAC layer optimized resource allocation scheme for OFDMA based micro base stations is investigated. We propose cross-layer optimized two-stage resource allocation scheme including cross-layer functional description and control information flow between PHY-MAC layers. The proposed two-stage resource allocation scheme consists of a user grouping stage and a resource allocation stage. In the user grouping stage, users are divided into a macro base station user group and a micro base station user group based on the PHY-MAC layer characteristics of each user. In the resource allocation stage, a scheduling scheme and an allotment of resources are determined. In the proposed scheme, diversity and adaptive modulation and coding (AMC) schemes are exploited as schedulers. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed scheme increases the average cell throughput about 40~80 % compared to the conventional system without micro base stations.
Design of a Request Pattern based Video Proxy Server Management Technique for an Internet Streaming Service

Due to the limited storage space in video proxy server, it is often required to replace the old video data which is not serviced for long time with the newly requested video. This replacement causes the service delay and increase of network traffic. To circumvent this problem, we propose the an efficient replacement scheme in a video proxy server. In addition, we present a video data management technique for decreasing the number of replacement in video proxy server. For this purpose, we employ a memory in video proxy server. If the video segment which is loaded in memory is requested once again by a different user, this segment is resided in memory. The video in the memory is stored in the video proxy server depending on the consuming pattern by users. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm performs better than other algorithms in terms of packet hit rate and number of packet replacement.
Localized Path Selection Algorithm for Energy Efficiency and Prolonging Lifetime in Ad-Hoc Networks

In ad-hoc network, the technique to efficiently consume the limited amounts of energy is an important issue since the wireless terminal node is operated on batteries as their energy resource. In order to extend the system lifetime, through a balanced energy consumption, we must delay the situation in which a particular terminal node's energy is depleted and results in system disconnection. Also, the link, which has low reliability due to the mobility of the node, should be avoided considering the key element when setting up the route. The proposed CMLR method in this paper enables to increase the efficiency of energy consumption with a new cost function considering the residue energy of node, error rate of link, and transmission energy consumption. This method is extending the network lifetime and increasing the energy efficiency by compromising the value between the minimization of the transmission energy consumption and maximization of the node's lifetime. Through the simulations the proposed CMLR algorithm was verified by showing better performance over the conventional methods in terms of network lifetime and path efficiency.
Phoneme Similarity Error Correction System using Bhattacharyya Distance Measurement Method

Vocabulary recognition system is providing inaccurate vocabulary and similar phoneme recognition due to reduce recognition rate. It's require method of similar phoneme recognition unrecognized and efficient feature extraction process. Therefore in this paper propose phoneme likelihood error correction improvement system using based on phoneme feature Bhattacharyya distance measurement. Phoneme likelihood is monophone training data phoneme using HMM feature extraction method, similar phoneme is induced recognition able to accurate phoneme using Bhattacharyya distance measurement. They are effective recognition rate improvement. System performance comparison as a result of recognition improve represent 1.2%, 97.91% by Euclidean distance measurement and dynamic time warping(DTW) system.
A Study on Effectiveness of STEM Integration Education Using Educational Robot

The purpose of this research is to verify the influence of STEM integrate education using educational robots on improvement of the level of attitude towards Mathematics. The following hypothesis was formulated in order to achieve this purpose: There will be a meaningful difference in the level of attitude towards Mathematics between elementary school students educated by STEM integrated education with robots and by the traditional method of teaching Mathematics. To prove this hypothesis, 56 of first grade students were tested under the nonequivalent control group in the pretest-posttest designs. As a result of the study, it is showed that STEM integrated education has a positive effect on promoting the level of elementary school students' attitude towards Mathematics. Therefore, we need the instructional activities which can combine the knowledge gained from a variety of curriculum with activities by using educational robots.
Design and Development of e-Mentoring System for Full Inclusion

The purpose of this study is to design and develop an e-mentoring system for full inclusion. Through the literature review of related studies, the e-mentoring performance model was drawn. Based on this model, an e-mentoring system was designed and developed. Especially the horizontal mentoring was mainly considered during the procedure. To evaluate the usability of the system, 2 system managers, 5 mentors, and 5 mentees were chosen and they were interviewed by researchers. Researchers used an interview instrument(10 items) consisting of mentoring support(cognitive support, affective support, adaptability) and technical support(convenience, accuracy, look & feel) categories. On the whole affirmative responses were given in both mentoring support and technical support areas. It can be concluded that the e-mentoring system is very effective in supporting full inclusion. In future it is recommended that several empirical studies of utilizing the e-mentoring should be performed.
Identification of Critical Service Quality and Educational Factors Influencing Students' Satisfaction of Liberal Arts Education in Korea

This study investigated the relation between the liberal arts education service and students' satisfaction. The results of the study show that students are satisfied with all of five service quality factors, students' intention of studying, full time instructors' teaching and high GPA in taking liberal arts classes. However, educational factors such as the quantity of home work, frequency of test and the size of class, which can influence the quality and contents of classes, do not impact the students' satisfaction of liberal arts education. The college students of Korea may tend to be more satisfied with the liberal arts classes which they feel easier to study and to get better grades.

Looking at the application examples related to RFID systems around the world, it is easy to find that RFID systems are introduced in various industries, such as retail and consumer goods sectors, financial and security sectors, automotive and transport sector, leisure and sports sector, logistics, and health-related fields. This is because they can get their operational efficiency and competitiveness by means of product's visibility and transparency of information through RFID systems. However, it is required that evaluation of effectiveness on introducing RFID systems should be performed to strengthen construction willingness of RFID systems before actual introduction of the RFID systems in the process. This activity affects to introduction of RFID systems in industry-wide and then, will be able to create a synergy effect such as national industrial competitiveness improvement. The purpose of this study is to offer rational method on effectiveness analysis before and after RFID based process. Accordingly, the proposed Choquet fuzzy integral-based model will be allowed rational analysis by integrating quantitative and qualitative analysis. Through the effectiveness analysis of C company's RFID based process using the proposed evaluation model, we could identify that RFID-based logistics process was more effective than existing process.
A Spatial Data Mining and Geographical Customer Relationship Management System

Spatial data mining has been developed to support spatial association knowledge between spatial features or its non-spatial attributes for an application areas. At the present time, a number of researchers attempt to the data mining techniques apply to the several analysis areas, for examples, civil engineering, environmental, agricultural areas. Despite the efforts that, until such time as not existed practical systems for the gCRMDMs. gCRMDMs is merged with very large spatial database and CRM information system. Also, it is discovery the association rule for the predictions of customer's shopping pattern informations in a huge database consisted with spatial and non-spatial dataset. For this goal, gCRMDMs need spatial data mining techniques. But, nowadays, in a most case not exist utilizable model for the gCRMDMs. Therefore, in this paper, we proposed a practical gCRMDMs model to support a customer, store, street, building and geographical suited to the trade area.
An Analysis of Relation between Exercise Addiction and Affect to Sociodemographic Characteristics

The purpose of this study was to analyze the difference between Exercise addiction and Affect, and addiction-related potential was investigated. In addition, exercise addiction prevention and positive exercise was to identify. The participants of the study included 312 tennis club member who were more than 20 years old and lived in seoul city. The survey was analyzed by SPSS PC+ for window (version 12.0) which is a statistical analysis program to produce the computational results of this study. Based on the survey, this study could draw such results as follows: First, exercise addiction, gender and age on partial variables were statistically significant differences. A male positive addictions, exercise desire were higher than in female. 50s in the withdrawal symptoms of the variables that showed statistically significant difference participation, and period, frequency, time of exercise addiction showed that in withdrawal symptoms, positive addictions domain in a statistically meaningful differences. Second, social demographic domain in the presence of gender showed significant correlation exercise desire were and exercise participation time in the positive addictions showed significant correlation. Participation frequency and the time involved in retaining all the positive affect and negative affect have found a high correlation. Third, the influence of relation between exercise addiction and affect of tennis participants, exercise desire, positive addiction, showed in a statistically positive affect and negative affect meaningful influence on it.

Study on Analysis of Website Visibiliy for Search Engine Optimization

The Internet has become a major channel of business marketing and sales, and there is a core competitive object between websites for a high position ranking in search engine results. There are various ways to maintain the high position ranking of website involving the development of componental coding or the expensive investment for the search engine optimization. The purpose of this paper is proposed to identify and rank the negative elements of website visibility to get rid of those elements when website designer designs the webpage. Website can be removed from indices of search engines when they are not satisfied for search engine optimization. The proposed experiments that are identified and ranked the negative elements of website visibility in this paper are based on the theories and experiments of existing website visibility models. The experimental analyses in this paper are scored and normalized based on methodologies of those models and 10 highest negative elements are ranked through the analyses. Therefore when website is designed, these highest negative elements should be avoided so website can not be removed in the indices of search engines.

Effect of Website Quality on Silver Portal Adoption: Focused on Perception of Potential Users Who Are Over 40 Years Old

Senior Internet users have been tremendously increasing for the past few years in line with increase in the aging populations, and silver portals began to provide some sorts of services to them in Korea. Thus, this paper aimed at identifying Web quality factors of silver portal for its successful adoption, and examining the moderating effects of gender on the relations between Web quality factors and intention to use. Information quality, system quality, service quality and entertainment quality were identified as Web quality factors of silver portal based on the intensive review on prior researches. A total of surveys 525 from the potential users of silver portal, who are over 40 years old, were analyzed to verify our research model. The findings show that information quality, system quality, and entertainment quality are related to intention to use whereas service quality has no relationship with intention to use. It is found that gender moderates the relationship between entertainment quality and intention to use.
