Design of Grid Workflow System Scheduler for Task Pipelining

The power of computational Grid resources can be utilized on users desktop by employing workflow managers. It also helps scientists to conveniently put together and run their own scientific workflows. Generally, stage-in, process and stage-out are serially executed and workflow systems help automate this process. However, as the data size is exponentially increasing and more and more scientific workflows require multiple processing steps to obtain the desired output, we argue that the data movement will possess high portion of overall running time. In this paper, we improved staging time and design a new scheduler where the system can execute concurrently as many jobs as possible. Our simulation study shows that 10% to 40% improvement in running time can be achieved through our approach.
Support Vector Machine Algorithm for Imbalanced Data Learning

This paper proposes an improved SMO solving a quadratic optmization problem for class imbalanced learning. The SMO algorithm is aproporiate for solving the optimization problem of a support vector machine that assigns the different regularization values to the two classes, and the prosoposed SMO learning algorithm iterates the learning steps to find the current optimal solutions of only two Lagrange variables selected per class. The proposed algorithm is tested with the UCI benchmarking problems and compared to the experimental results of the SMO algorithm with the g-mean measure that considers class imbalanced distribution for gerneralization performance. In comparison to the SMO algorithm, the proposed algorithm is effective to improve the prediction rate of the minority class data and could shorthen the training time.
Efficient Handwritten Character Verification Using an Improved Dynamic Time Warping Algorithm

In this paper, we suggest a efficient handwritten character verification method in on-line environments which automatically analyses two input character string and computes their similarity degrees. The proposed algorithm first applies the circular projection method to input handwritten strings and extracts their representative features including shape, directions, etc. It then calculates the similarity between two character strings by using an improved dynamic time warping (DTW) algorithm. We improved the conventional DTW algorithm efficiently through adopting the branch-and-bound policy to the existing DTW algorithm which is well-known to produce good results in the various optimization problems. The experimental results to verify the performance of the proposed system show that the suggested handwritten character verification method operates more efficiently than the existing DTW and DDTW algorithms in terms of the speed.
An Optimal Video Editing Method using Frame Information Pre-Processing

We can cut and paste portions of MPEG coded bitstream efficiently to rearrange the audio and video sequences using our proposed method. The proposed method decodes the MPEG stream within just only one GOP(Group of Picture), edits the decoded video frames, and encodes it back to a MPEG stream. In this method, precise editing is possible. A pre-processing step is specially designed to provide easy cut and paste processing. In the pre-processing step for editing MPEG streams, the detail information is extracted. In addition, video quality is not degraded after the proposed editing process is applied. Consequently, the experimental results show significant improvements compared with traditional algorithms for video editing method in terms of the efficiency and exactness.
Design and Implementation of IP-based Network Management System Supporting WLAN Integrated Management System

The hand over between different radio access networks, especially where their coverage overlaps, suffers various complications since the different access networks provide different service characteristics. In this paper, it is about the system which can control the wireless LAN network management system and the wireless LAN access point of variety vendor which is in different areas. Successful development of mobile sink wireless LAN network management system which supports multi-vendor devices and have center-local interoperability structure. In proposed system, speed of the mobile station give about 10% improvement when the map domain size is 5 than the existing system. Through a data plane and management system of message way, it give a stability system and consistency network.
Cell Based Emergency Message Broadcast Scheme for Inter-Vehicle Communication

The emergency between vehicles on the superhighway should be transmitted quickly to the following vehicles for safety of people. The message between them has been transmitted by broadcast method in an wireless environment of 802.11, so far. That causes the broadcast storm and a waste of the bandwidth of Wireless network owing to unnecessary process of sending messages to even vehicles that do not have to receive the information. The message collision is a main cause of the increase of message delay. In order to overcome the existing problem, this paper proposed a message broadcast scheme based on cell (MBC), which is the way to divide cars into different groups by cell unit and transmit messages to the members of the groups through the cell primary (cp) vehicles. This paper shows the proposed broadcast's performance in the same environment is much superior to other conventional broadcast schems for inter-vehicle communication, since the receiving ratio among the following vehicles is improved.
A 3D visualization method for mobile interface based on user's menu preference

The analysis of menu preference by different users is one of the important issues in mobile interface design. Current mobile phones do not provide any functionalities to customize the user interface based on use history after they are released by manufacturers or mobile carriers. Though a number of functions are loaded into mobile devices, all the menus are uniformly presented to users regardless of menu preference, and it becomes a reason to decrease the usability of mobile interface. To improve this limitation, this paper suggests how to apply 3D visualization methods to mobile interface, depending on menu use history. In addition, for performance evaluation, 3D mobile interface system was implemented using 3D visualization methods such as depth, transparency, and animation. Finally, experiments for performance evaluation were performed in order to measure and compare menu search times.
A Key Management Scheme without Re-encryption for Home-domain Contents Distribution in Open IPTV Environments

Due to the advancement of IPTV technologies, open IPTV services are a step closer to becoming reality. In such service environment, users are able to enjoy IPTV services using a variety of devices available at their home domain. However, it is impossible to get such flexible services at their convenience unless each of devices is individually connected to Set-Top-Box (STB) because of Conditional Access System (CAS) or service providers otherwise allow STB to freely distribute decoded contents to every user devices attached to STB. In this paper, we propose a key management scheme for securely distributing contents from STB to multiple user devices at home domain. The proposed scheme also makes the service providers be able to control the access rights to each of user devices without installing individual STBs. It is achieved by computationally dividing a private key of RSA signature scheme into three parts and thus makes possible to distribute the contents scrambled through a underlying CAS mechanism without re-encrypting them that the existing scheme should employ. It improves significantly computation and communication complexities, maintaining it as secure as the existing schemes. Additionally, it prevents misbehaving users from illegally distributing the contents from STB to their devices available at home domain.
UA Study on the Polarization Selective Antenna for UHF RFID System

TIn this paper, it is designed the polarization selective antenna for UHF RFID system. The proposed antenna is consist of microstrip patch antenna with dual feeding and two SPDT switches and a SP4T switch and 3dB hybrid coupler. Through control of voltage of switches, the proposed reader antenna can select horizontally linear polarization, vertically linear polarization, left-hand circular polarization (LHCP) and right hand circular polarization (RHCP). The proposed reader antenna satisfied 2:1 VSWR at 902MHz~928MHz. and it has under 3dB AR(axial ratio). Peak gain of antenna is 7.71dBi, 7.55dBi with linear polarization and 7.31dBic, 7.81dBic with circular polarization at x-y plane. Also Axial ratio of antenna is 2.01~2.83dB and 2.02~2.60dB respectively. It is satisfied 3dB axial ratio.
A Implementation and Performance Analysis of Emotion Messenger Based on Dynamic Gesture Recognitions using WebCAM

In this paper, we propose an emotion messenger which recognizes face or hand gestures of a user using a WebCAM, converts recognized emotions (joy, anger, grief, happiness) to flash-cones, and transmits them to the counterpart. This messenger consists of face recognition module, hand gesture recognition module, and messenger module. In the face recognition module, it converts each region of the eye and the mouth to a binary image and recognizes wink, kiss, and yawn according to shape change of the eye and the mouth. In hand gesture recognition module, it recognizes gawi-bawi-bo according to the number of fingers it has recognized. In messenger module, it converts wink, kiss, and yawn recognized by the face recognition module and gawi-bawi-bo recognized by the hand gesture recognition module to flash-cones and transmits them to the counterpart. Through simulation, we confirmed that CPU share ratio of the emotion messenger is minimized. Moreover, with respect to recognition ratio, we show that the hand gesture recognition module performs better than the face recognition module.
Vocabulary Recognition Post-Processing System using Phoneme Similarity Error Correction

In vocabulary recognition system has reduce recognition rate unrecognized error cause of similar phoneme recognition and due to provided inaccurate vocabulary. Input of inaccurate vocabulary by feature extraction case of recognition by appear result of unrecognized or similar phoneme recognized. Also can't feature extraction properly when phoneme recognition is similar phoneme recognition. In this paper propose vocabulary recognition post-process error correction system using phoneme likelihood based on phoneme feature. Phoneme likelihood is monophone training phoneme data by find out using MFCC and LPC feature extraction method. Similar phoneme is induced able to recognition of accurate phoneme due to inaccurate vocabulary provided unrecognized reduced error rate. Find out error correction using phoneme likelihood and confidence when vocabulary recognition perform error correction for error proved vocabulary. System performance comparison as a result of recognition improve represent MFCC 7.5%, LPC 5.3% by system using error pattern and system using semantic.
UA Tree-based Reduction of Speech DB in a Large Corpus-based Korean TTS

Large corpus-based concatenating Text-to-Speech (TTS) systems can generate natural synthetic speech without additional signal processing. Because the improvements in the natualness, personality, speaking style, emotions of synthetic speech need the increase of the size of speech DB, it is necessary to prune the redundant speech segments in a large speech segment DB. In this paper, we propose a new method to construct a segmental speech DB for the Korean TTS system based on a clustering algorithm to downsize the segmental speech DB. For the performance test, the synthetic speech was generated using the Korean TTS system which consists of the language processing module, prosody processing module, segment selection module, speech concatenation module, and segmental speech DB. And MOS test was executed with the a set of synthetic speech generated with 4 different segmental speech DBs. We constructed 4 different segmental speech DB by combining CM1(or CM2) tree clustering method and full DB (or reduced DB). Experimental results show that the proposed method can reduce the size of speech DB by 23% and get high MOS in the perception test. Therefore the proposed method can be applied to make a small sized TTS.
An Optimization Technique to Improve Readability of CSS

For effective maintenance for web applications, it is necessary to improve the readability of the source pages. Though CSS(Cascading Style Sheet) belongs to pure presentation layer in various web constituent entities, CSS codes are often used by inlning and they are sometimes automatically generated by web development tools. The existing studies on CSS optimization have only focused on reducing the size of codes and they did not incorporate the readability or the reusability. In this paper, CSS codes are structured and several criteria for readability are defined to improve the readabilty and reusability. Based on them, the algorithm to improve the readability are proposed. Finally, case study are presented to show the applicability of the proposed algorithm.
The Empirical Analysis on the relevancy between the IT competency of the Group Enterprises, and the IT Service Firms' Management Performance

In this paper, we analyse empirically the relation between the IT competency of the Group enterprises, and the management performance of the subsidiary IT service firms in Korea. The 24 IT service firms and relative Group enterprises are included for analysis. The various hypotheses established are validated by t-test method statistically. The results shows that IT competency level of the Group enterprises was affected by not only their sales volumes, new investment volume of IT service, but system management(SM) and inner captive market's sales volume of subsidiary IT service firms also. Additionally the sales volume of IT service firms was affected positively by their inner-captive market's sales, system management sales volume, and the sales volume of their Group enterprise. The service competency of the subsidiary IT service firms is shown as more high in the lower intensity of outer-captive and system integration(SI) business, as well as in the upper intensity of inner-captive and SI business.

This paper propose a system proposing and registering a contents service provider of mobile telecommunication company for user-defined mobile contents production and transmission. We propose a system using web hosting service for user-defined mobile contents production and solution for system and transmission for contents production of a person and enterprises.
A Study on Success Factors of Online Communities from the Perspective of Service Quality: Based on SERVQUAL Model

Importance of online community has been increased and also online community has been used as an important marketing tool. The purposes of this study are to construct an instrument to evaluate service quality of online community service and have a further discussion of the relationship between service quality dimensions, customer satisfaction, intention to move. According to our findings, among the determinants of service quality, empathy strongly influences both of consumer satisfaction and intention to move. The determinants of service quality which positively influences consumer satisfaction are empathy, tangibles and responsiveness. Empathy and assurance negatively influence intention to move. This means that the service quality of online community affects customer retention. Also, understanding and reflecting customer needs are more important.
