Implementation of an Optimal SIMD-based Many-core Processor for Sound Synthesis of Guitar

Improving operating frequency of processors is no longer today`s issues; a multiprocessor technique which integrates many processors has received increasing attention. Currently, high-performance processors that integrate 64 or 128 cores are developing for large data processing over 2, 4, or 8 processor cores. This paper proposes an optimal many-core processor for synthesizing guitar sounds. Unlike the previous research in which a processing element (PE) was assigned to support one of guitar strings, this paper evaluates the impacts of mapping different numbers of PEs to one guitar string in terms of performance and both area and energy efficiencies using architectural and workload simulations. Experimental results show that the maximum area energy efficiencies were achieved at PEs

A FCA-based Classification Approach for Analysis of Interval Data

Based on the internet-based infrastructures such as various information devices, social network systems and cloud computing environments, distributed and sharable data are growing explosively. Recently, as a data analysis and mining technique for extracting, analyzing and classifying the inherent and useful knowledge and information, Formal Concept Analysis on binary or many-valued data has been successfully applied in many diverse fields. However, in formal concept analysis, there has been little research conducted on analyzing interval data whose attributes have some interval values. In this paper, we propose a new approach for classification of interval data based on the formal concept analysis. We present the development of a supporting tool(iFCA) that provides the proposed approach for the binarization of interval data table, concept extraction and construction of concept hierarchies. Finally, with some experiments over real-world data sets, we demonstrate that our approach provides some useful and effective ways for analyzing and mining interval data.
A Dual Processing Load Shedding to Improve The Accuracy of Aggregate Queries on Clustering Environment of GeoSensor Data Stream

u-GIS DSMSs have been researched to deal with various sensor data from GeoSensors in ubiquitous environment. Also, they has been more important for high availability. The data from GeoSensors have some characteristics that increase explosively. This characteristic could lead memory overflow and data loss. To solve the problem, various load shedding methods have been researched. Traditional methods drop the overloaded tuples according to a particular criteria in a single server. Tuple deletion sensitive queries such as aggregation is hard to satisfy accuracy. In this paper a dual processing load shedding method is suggested to improve the accuracy of aggregation in clustering environment. In this method two nodes use replicated stream data for high availability. They process a stream in two nodes by using a characteristic they share stream data. Stream data are synchronized between them with a window as a unit. Then, processed results are merged. We gain improved query accuracy without data loss.
Ontology-based Customized Health Management Service for Metabolic Syndrome Patients

According to 2005 Korea National Health and Nutrition Survey, it has been reported that 32.9% men and 31.8% women have Metabolic syndrome among the population of age 30 and over. The importance of prevention and management is being emphasized in Metabolic syndrome which is a complex disease related to various generic and environmental factors like other chronical disease. In this study we suggest an service based on the data using the system architecture, ontology and Jena2.0 inference engine and organizing the disease-related guideline. The study also arrives at the result through proper interpretation and reasoning process using health management service model based on ontology. The accuracy according to the situation was tested and 930 data samples were selected and experimented. We drew a conclusion that the much personalized data is available, the more personalized services are possible. Since the risk factors of Metabolic syndrome are various, it would be effective to suggest customized services based on various personalized data.
A Design of Framework based on Distributed System for Enhancing Productivity

In this paper, we propose a framework which supports the simple development cycle based on Distributed System using IPO(Input-Process-Output) model. In our proposed framework, once a single class with Input, Process and Output functions is developed, it can be executed like a single application in both presentation layer and middle layer of a distributed system. Our proposed Framework removes dependency on distributed system and makes development cycle decreased from Develop-Build-Deploy-Test cycle to Develop-Test cycle when application programs is developed. The verification of productivity and performance is performed by comparing our Framework with distributed system or lightweight Framework. The results show high productivity due to the considerable amount of reduction in lines of source code and reduction in dependency on distributed system, and show stabler performance than lightweight framework.
An Efficient Addressing Scheme Using (x, y) Coordinates in Environments of Smart Grid

Smart Grid is the next-generation intelligent power grid that maximizes energy efficiency with the convergence of IT technologies and the existing power grid. Smart Grid is created solution for standardization and interoperability. Smart Grid industry enables consumers to check power rates in real time for active power consumption. It also enables suppliers to measure their expected power generation load, which stabilizes the operation of the power system. Smart industy was ecolved actively cause Wireless communication is being considered for AMI system and wireless communication using ZigBee sensor has been applied in various industly. In this paper, we proposed efficient addressing scheme for improving the performance of the routing algorithm using ZigBee in Smart Grid environment. A distributed address allocation scheme used an existing algorithm has wasted address space. Therefore proposing x, y coordinate axes from divide address space of 16 bit to solve this problem. Each node was reduced not only bitwise but also multi hop using the coordinate axes while routing than Cskip algorithm. I compared the performance between the standard and the proposed mechanism through the numerical analysis. Simulation verify performance about decrease averaging multi hop count that compare proposing algorithm and another. The numerical analysis results show that proposed algorithm reduce multi hop than ZigBee distributed address assignment and another.
Fast Vehicle Detection based on Haarlike and Vehicle Tracking using SURF Method

This paper proposes vehicle detection and tracking algorithm using a CCD camera. The proposed algorithm uses Haar-like wavelet edge detector to detect features of vehicle and estimates vehicle`s location using calibration information of an image. After that, extract accumulated vehicle information in continuous k images to improve reliability. Finally, obtained vehicle region becomes a template image to find same object in the next continuous image using SURF(Speeded Up Robust Features). The template image is updated in the every frame. In order to reduce SURF processing time, ROI(Region of Interesting) region is limited on expended area of detected vehicle location in the previous frame image. This algorithm repeats detection and tracking progress until no corresponding points are found. The experimental result shows efficiency of proposed algorithm using images obtained on the road.
Design and Implementation of a Metadata System for Financial Information Data Modeling

As business environment and complex work conditions are rapidly changing, large financial institutions are doing research on various fields to build a system that will efficiently and accurately process the production and modification of financial information and minimize the error in data-processing. In this paper, we have built a metadata system that, among various research areas, gives stability, accuracy and convenience in financial data modelling, analyze its effect and when adapting new models, provide mapping information from existing model to efficiently connect models and databases. If we manage modelling and standard data through this metadata system, the data standardization and database can process the model modification work in an unitary system and consistent high quality data model can be maintained and managed when data modification occurs.
Mobile Book Management Application using Camera of Smart Phone

In this paper, we propose a mobile book management application using the camera of a smart phone and the open API book information provided online. The camera automatically scans the bar-code or QR-code of a particular book. The code of that book is used to transmit detailed information to the open API. Then the proposed application records this information for use in an "Scan list" or an "My book list". This application notes the page of the book that the user is currently reading and, if the user has read the entire book, he or she can comment about it. Therefore, the proposed application provides useful functions so that the users can manage their books effectively.

Natural User Interface(NUI) technologies introduce new trends in using devices such as computer and any other electronic devices. In this paper, an augmented reality on a mobile device is implemented by using face detection, recognition and motion tracking. The face detection is obtained by using Viola-Jones algorithm from the images of the front camera. The Eigenface algorithm is employed for face recognition and face motion tracking. The augmented reality is implemented by overlapping the rear camera image and GPS, accelerator sensors` data with the 3D graphic object which is correspond with the recognized face. The algorithms and methods are limited by the mobile device specification such as processing ability and main memory capacity.
The Design and development of online learning modules for the broadcasting content-based e-PBL

This study paid attention to the possibility of broadcasting contents as a learning resource, which promoted the knowledge composition and the process of creation from the software having enriched contents not a delivering tool for the information in one direction. and tried to implement it thru e-PBL, which is one of teaching-learning models in e-learning. In order to implement the possibility of broadcasting contents in the e-PBL enviroment as a learning resource, the study focused on the design and development of e-PBL based on the broadcasting contents and found out the educational possibility for the broadcasting contents as the learning resource in e-PBL enviroment. This study focused on the design of learning module and development process which integrated strategic plans to maximize the utilization of broadcasting contents including development of online learning community. Also, This is verified by applying the learning module was to prove a differentiation.

The FE-SM/SONN for Recognition of the Car Skid Mark

In this paper, We proposes FE-SM/SONN for recognizing blurred and smeared skid mark image caused by sudden braking of a vehicle. In a blurred and smeared skid marks, tread pattern image is ambiguous. To improve recognition of such image, FE-SM/SONN reads skid marks utilizing Fuzzy Logic and distinguishing tread pattern SONN(Self Organization Neural Networks) recognizer. In order to substantiate this finding, 48 tire models and 144 skid marks were compared and overall recognition ratio was 89%. This study showed 13.51% improved recognition compared to existing back propagation recognizer, and 8.78% improvement than FE-MCBP. The expected effect of this research is achieving recognition of ambiguous images by extracting distinguishing features, and the finding concludes that even when tread pattern image is in grey scale, Fuzzy Logic enables the tread pattern recognizable.
A New Resource Lists Architecture using Dynamic Notification Control Method

In SIP(Session Initiation Protocol) service, users should send SIP SUBSCRIBE messages to the SIP server to get subscription informations of the other parties, and total amount of SIP messages becomes large in network as refresh messages and notification messages are generated to each SIP subscription. In this paper, a new resource lists architecture using dynamic notification control method has been proposed to solve these problems. In this architecture, service users can control event notification generation rate dynamically from the server according to the operation circumstances, and users can control generation of notification messages during refresh for maintaining SIP session. Furthermore users can also control generation of notification messages according to session connection conditions. A new resource lists MIME type has been designed, and several parameters for dynamic notification message control have been added to the extended SIP message headers. In this system new resource lists MIME type can be used for processing of the event package. Therefore total amount of SIP messages in network can be largely reduced, and load of the resource lists server for processing messages can be reduced also. The performance of the proposed method has been evaluated by experiments.
A Resource Management and Allocation Scheme for Multiple Multimedia Service in Heterogeneous Networks

This paper proposes a resource management and allocation algorithm to guarantee QoS continuity of realtime multimedia services and to maximize the resource utilization in heterogeneous wireless networks simultaneously. This scheme reserves the appropriate resources to be used by real-time multimedia services and allocates those resources left unused due to decreased transmission rate of realtime services to non-realtime services. Those resources can be preempted by the need of realtime services later. Performances are analyzed by simulation.
A TTL-based Peer Grouping Scheme for P2P Streaming Systems

In this paper, we propose a new peer grouping scheme to consider locality among peers using TTL values in P2P-based IPTV systems. This scheme can select neighbor peers to minimize the number of intermediate routers between each pair of peers. Thus, it can save the network bandwidth as much as the amount of data that the reduced number of routers should transmit In addition, we have conducted various simulation experiments to show that our proposed TTL-based peer grouping scheme can outperform the conventional RTT-based grouping scheme. The experimental results show that our proposed scheme can reduce the jitter ratio as well as the number of data and control packets that all routers should transmit.
Three Dimensional Euclidean Minimum Spanning Tree for Connecting Nodes of Space with the Shortest Length

In general, Euclidean minimum spanning tree is a tree connecting input nodes with minimum connecting cost. But the tree may not be optimal when applied to real world problems of three dimension. In this paper, three dimension Euclidean minimum spanning tree is proposed, connecting all input nodes of 3-dimensional space with minimum cost. In experiments for 30,000 input nodes with 100% space ratio, the tree produced by the proposed method can reduce 90.0% connection cost tree, compared with the tree by two dimension Prim`s minimum spanning tree. In two dimension plane, the proposed tree increases 251.2% connecting cost, which is pointless in 3-dimensional real world. Therefore, the proposed method can work well for many connecting problems in real world space of three dimensions.
A Study on Parallel AES Cipher Algorithm based on Multi Processor

This paper defines the AES password algorithm used as a symmetric-key-based password algorithm, and proposes the design of parallel password algorithm to utilize the resources of multi-core processor as much as possible. The proposed parallel password algorithm was confirmed for parallel execution of password computation by allocating the password algorithm according to the number of cores, and about 30% of performance increase compared to AES password algorithm. The encryption/decryption performance of the password algorithm was confirmed through binary comparative analysis tool, which confirmed that the binary results were the same for AES password algorithm and proposed parallel password algorithm, and the decrypted binary were also the same. The parallel password algorithm for multi-core environment proposed in this paper can be applied to authentication/payment of financial service in PC, laptop, server, and mobile environment, and can be utilized in the area that required high-speed encryption operation of large-sized data.
Implementation of User Interface and GeoSensor based Traveling Type Sub-Observation Prototype System for Monitoring of Groundwater

Although underground water resource has relatively less pollution rate compared with surface water, its recovery faces many difficulties due to poor management. Our country monitors underground water to manage it effectively through auxiliary observation network for underground water. In this paper, we suggest water-well auto measure system based on Geosensor for business efficiency increase of water-well management and realtime monitering. In this system is consist of user GUI(Graphic User Interface) composed with water-well information and movement sub-observation network prototype system composed with GPS(Global Positioning System) and wireless sensor node such as water temperature, water level, electrical conductivity. In this system is using the light of the sun for self-power, variety water-well information collected wireless sensor node was a wireless transmitting/receiving a using CDMA(Code Division Multiple Access) module. Also, for promote with user ease, user GUI express that water-well collected in GIS(Geographic Information System) map. For performance evaluation of the proposed system, we perform experiment using sensing information through designed sub-observation network. And we was proved superiority of the proposed system through qualitative evaluation with other paper.
An Integrated Design of Middleware and EPCIS for RFID and Sensor Data

RFID tag awareness information and sensor data continuously change, and are categorized with the position. They are able to similar data in the side, called massive data to change in time. If two data are managed together, a convergence process of object awareness along change of environment is possible. If RFID middleware and EPCIS repository realized the integrated system, it is usable with the functions of middleware and repository at the same time. The real-time awareness information retrieval is possible without process, getting information from another middleware. In this paper, it is able to continuously read information from RFID reader and sensor equipment and store to database in order to make general object awareness and an object retrieval dependent on an environmental information change possible by real time. ALE-compliant middleware and EPCIS repository proposing for standards at EPCglobal is designed and implemented to be able to deal with RFID and sensor data to bases on the collected data.
A Hierarchical Bitmap-based Spatial Index use k-Nearest Neighbor Query Processing on the Wireless Broadcast Environment

Recently, k-nearest neighbors query methods based on wireless broadcasting environment are actively studied. The advantage of wireless broadcasting environment is the scalability that enables collective query processing for unspecified users connected to the server. However, in case existing k-NN query is applied in wireless broadcasting environment, there can be a disadvantage that backtracking may occur and consequently the query processing time is increasing. In this paper proposes a hierarchical bitmap-based spatial index in order to efficiently process the k-NN queries in wireless broadcasting environment. HBI reduces the bitmap size using such bitmap information and tree structure. As a result, reducing the broadcast cycle can reduce the client`s tuning time and query processing time. In addition, since the locations of all the objects can be detected using bitmap information, it is possible to tune to necessary data selectively. For this paper, a test was conducted implementing HBI to k-NN query and the proposed technique was proved to be excellent by a performance evaluation.
Building of Prediction Model of Wind Power Generationusing Power Ramp Rate

Fossil fuel is used all over the world and it produces greenhouse gases due to fossil fuel use. Therefore, it cause global warming and is serious environmental pollution. In order to decrease the environmental pollution, we should use renewable energy which is clean energy. Among several renewable energy, wind energy is the most promising one. Wind power generation is does not produce environmental pollution and could not be exhausted. However, due to wind power generation has irregular power output, it is important to predict generated electrical energy accurately for smoothing wind energy supply. There, we consider use ramp characteristic to forecast accurate wind power output. The ramp increase and decrease rapidly wind power generation during in a short time. Therefore, it can cause problem of unbalanced power supply and demand and get damaged wind turbine. In this paper, we make prediction models using power ramp rate as well as wind speed and wind direction to increase prediction accuracy. Prediction model construction algorithm used multilayer neural network. We built four prediction models with PRR, wind speed, and wind direction and then evaluated performance of prediction models. The predicted values, which is prediction model with all of attribute, is nearly to the observed values. Therefore, if we use PRR attribute, we can increase prediction accuracy of wind power generation.
A study for rejection and acceptance for Information technology innovative products: Based on Smart phone usage intention of General mobile phone users

A study herein is carried out for acceptance procedure of innovative products in the aspect which usage intention is formed by usefulness expectation and rejection factors for innovative products during acceptance procedure of users when information technology innovative products are launched in the market. Empirical study was carried out for non-smart phone users within mobile phone users. As a result of study, firstly, usefulness expectation of users for information technology innovative products is positively (+) affecting to usage intention, while usefulness expectation was shown to be negatively (-) affecting to rejection. Secondly, social factors were found which positively (+) affect to usefulness expectation for innovative products, and satisfaction for conventional products negatively (-) affects to usefulness expectation. Thirdly, there were satisfaction and consuming effort for conventional products from consumers for the factors which affects to innovative products rejection of consumers. Based on the result of study herein, there is a specific strategy needed for information technology innovative products although consumers have expectation usefulness for the products as well as rejection which brings out to remove the intention to use the products.
A Study on Improving Support for Victims of Cyber-Violence

Recently, violence in cyberspace has been increasing and it causes not only severe emotional distress to the victims but also hampers a healthy cyber culture. This paper aims to find out about characteristics and the actual state of Cyber-Violence, and Evaluate the measures concerning it. Cyber crime is characterized as non face to face, anonymity, non-limitary, difficulties in attracting evidence, the Cyber Violence of these cyber crimes was shown in the form of cyber-insult, cyber-defamation, cyber-stalking, circulation of cyber-pornography, and that is the reality there are lack of practical measures. As a measure for protection the establishment of positive laws are needed on the cyber-contempt, adopting the Internet real-name system, strengthening the ISP`s responsibility and legislation for criminal penalties. As a more fundamental measure, a greater effort of netizen`s self-purification and systematic training and promotion for the prevention of damage is necessary.
Development of an OLAP Database System for SME Growth Support -Centering around the Small Business R&D Support Project-

The purpose of this paper is to develop an online analytical processing (OLAP) database system for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) growth support. In this paper, we made a model of measuring SME size first. The model is composed of five determinants of firm growth such as employment, sales, the amount of export, own technology, and the ratio of R&D expenditure to sales. Second, we designed the FREQUENCY dimension table which will make staged support of R&D expenditure. We developed the OLAP database system by using three dimensions including the FREQUENCY dimension, and using the model of measuring SME size. Also we assessed past decisions on R&D expenditure support in the Small Business R&D Support Project by using the OLAP database system.
