Energy-Efficient Fault-Tolerant Scheduling based on Duplicated Executions for Real-Time Tasks on Multicore Processors

The proposed scheme schedules given real-time tasks so that energy consumption of multicore processors would be minimized while meeting tasks' deadline and tolerating a permanent fault based on the primary-backup task model. Whereas the previous methods minimize the overlapped time of a primary task and its backup task, the proposed scheme maximizes the overlapped time so as to decrease the core speed as much as possible. It is analytically verified that the proposed scheme minimizes the energy consumption. Also, the proposed scheme saves up to 77% energy consumption of the previous method through experimental performance evaluation.
Developing an Intelligent Self-Health Pre-Diagnosing System based on ART2

In this paper, we propose a self-diagnosis system that is based on the ART2 algorithm in order to extract more detailed disease information by fuzzy reasoning method especially when the boundary of perceived symptoms are not clearly classified into disease categories. With that modification from previous version of the self health pre-diagnosis system, the proposed one is verified as more effective by field experts' evaluation as an intelligent assistant tool for public users before they consult with medical experts.

The characteristics of today's health care industry, based on the state of the art IT can be represented as a paradigm of human-oriented ubiquitous and accessible as possible by U-Health care. In addition, the healthcare industry is information and communication technologies (ICT) developments regarding the many advances and applications based on the research being carried out actively. Medical information system has been developed toward combining information systems of medical IT and it sets its sights on the fusion of developed IT and u-healthcare system. So changing distributed medical information systems into a safe PHR integrated system based on IaaS cloud computing is suggested in order to forge u-healthcare system with the times in this paper. Our experimental results show that our proposed system increased the data access time by about 24% and reduces the waiting time for processing service by about 4.3% over the web-based PHR.
A study of the Indoor-Impulse Noise Attenuation Effect for the Hearing Protection Devices

The objective of this study is the frequency of the noise source 170 dB level of impulsive sound attenuation performance by earplugs to identify, to analyze the frequency characteristics of a shape and pattern. The attenuation performance of the impulsive noise by the frequency levels on the Combat Arm and 3M Form types 1100 Earplugs were evaluated. In order to check the sound attenuation performance of the B&K head and torso simulator and sound attenuation performance of the ear simulator data was verified. Previous studies have most impact, even in the noise source and the impulse noise level is 140 dB, but this study is higher than that of the impulsive noise source features. The results of the impulse noise attenuation effect is frequency-dependent mean 28.58 dB.
Gravity Removal and Vector Rotation Algorithm for Step counting using a 3-axis MEMS accelerometer

In this paper, we propose Gravity Removal and Vector Rotation algorithm for counting steps of wearable device, and we evaluated the proposed GRVR algorithm with Micro-Electro-Mechanical (MEMS) 3-axis accelerometer equipped in low-power wearable device while the device is mounted on various positions of a walking or running person. By applying low-pass filter, the gravity elements are canceled from acceleration on each axis of yaw, pitch and roll. In addition to DC-bias removal and the low-pass filtering, the proposed GRVR calculates acceleration only on the yaw-axis while a person is walking or running thus we count the step even if the wearable device's axis are rotated during walking or running. The experimental result shows 99.4% accuracies for the cases where the wearable device is mounted in the middle and on the right of the belt, and 91.1% accuracy which is more accurate than 83% of commercial 3-axis pedometer when worn on wrist for the case of axis-rotation.
Design of a Real-Time Facility Diagnosis & Complex Data Management System Using IT Convergence Technology

With the rapid development of IT technology, recently, the development of IT convergence technology related to the facility diagnosis is prevalent, and the study for the efficient integrated management scheme is required to handle all relevant information, from the design to the maintenance, including the stage of repair. In this paper, an efficient scheme to process the complex data for the facility and its diagnosis is proposed based on IT convergence technique and the real-time complex data management is designed. In order to evaluate the performance of the proposed system, the real-time management system is designed for a particular facility, and the comparative results show the good performance of the proposed system.
Hybrid Preference Prediction Technique Using Weighting based Data Reliability for Collaborative Filtering Recommendation System

Collaborative filtering recommendation creates similar item subset or similar user subset based on user preference about items and predict user preference to particular item by using them. Thus, if preference matrix has low density, reliability of recommendation will be sharply decreased. To solve these problems we suggest Hybrid Preference Prediction Technique Using Weighting based Data Reliability. Preference prediction is carried out by creating similar item subset and similar user subset and predicting user preference by each subset and merging each predictive value by weighting point applying model condition. According to this technique, we can increase accuracy of user preference prediction and implement recommendation system which can provide highly reliable recommendation when density of preference matrix is low. Efficiency of this system is verified by Mean Absolute Error. Proposed technique shows average 21.7% improvement than Hao Ji's technique when preference matrix sparsity is more than 84% through experiment.
Design of Spatio-temporal Indexing for searching location of RFID Objects

The RFID-tag objects can be recognized by a distinct reader where it is installed. The RFID-tag objects are likely described as storages rather than the mobiles in the use of GPS. As RFID tags are large in number compared to moving objects, so the storing and retrieval costs are highly expensive. Here, two solutions for spatio-temporal model taking account of the feature in the tagged objects are proposed. First, the moving-tag objects are expressed by the terms "now" as well as "path location". Second, the size of storing index was noticeably reduced by not saving the tag information of palletizing products but mapping the tagged objects.
Contents Sharing Model in Distributed Collaboration Environment

In this paper, we propose contents sharing model for consolidating distributed collaboration environments. We provide the combined model by integrating different features-scalable resolution display walls resource, sharing contents on local and remote, multi-user interaction, and access control. There is a benefit that every user can interact within an environment, but overlaps would occur because of multi-user interaction. To manage overlap issue, the model includes access control. Access control would interfere flow of work process. Therefore, we conduct user study to evaluate these two factors of the model. The result shows that the proposed contents sharing model makes it possible to concentrate in a work.
A Single-model Single-sided Assembly Line Balancing Problem Using Main-path Clustering Algorithm

This paper suggests heuristic algorithm for single-model simple assembly line balancing problem that is a kind of NP-hard problem. This problem primarily can be solved metaheuristic method. This heuristic algorithm set the main-path that has a most number of operations from start to end-product. Then the clustering algorithm can be assigns operations to each workstation within cycle time follow main-path. This algorithm decides minimum number of workstations and can be reduces the cycle time. This algorithm can be better performance then metaheuristic methods.
Effect of Walking Tour Experience on Tourist satisfaction and Revisit Intention

In the past decade, Pine & Gilmore set out the vision for a new economic era, the experience economy, in which consumers are in search for extraordinary and memorable experiences. The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationships among walking tourist's experiences, walking tourist satisfaction and revisit intention as the social interest on walking tour has risen. A total of 250 respondents completed a survey. Using structural equation modeling (SEM) technique, the results reveal the effects of Esthetics(indulged in environments) and Escapism(diverging to a new self) that impact on walking tourist satisfaction and on revisit intention indirectly. Overall, finding of this study enhance the theoretical progress on the experiential concept in walking tour and offer important implication for walking tour marketers.
A Study on the Typology of Social Insurance Policy Instruments in Korea

This study tries to find the policy instruments that have used in the process of social insurance policy implementation. The results can be summarized as follows: First, in case of compulsory policy instrument, the government uses the regulation, public enterprise and government insurance in the process of implementing of all the social insurance policy. Second, in the case of mixed policy instrument, the government use the user' contribution in the process of implementing of all the social insurance policy but the subsidy was used in the process of implementing of the medical, pension, unemployment and long-term care insurance for the aged policy. Also, the information and discipline was used in the process of implementing of unemployment insurance policy and the partnership was used in the process of implementing of long-term care insurance for the aged policy. Third, in case of voluntary policy instrument, the government uses the family and community in the process of implementing of almost the whole social insurance policy.
A Study on Digital Storytelling Based Programming Education

This study conducted digital storytelling-based programing education targeting students at elementary school and analyzed educational significance as looking into perception on programing, making cognitive-affective assessments and having interviews. The results of the study are provided as follows. First, in terms of ex-post perception, from all the areas of fun, usefulness and ease of use, statistically significant differences were observed. It was also learned that female students have positive perception similar to male students. Second, the ex-ante and ex-post cognitive assessments came up with significant differences. Third, more affectively the class is developed, the number of students who would feel 'happiness' constantly increases. What the study has found there proves educational value of digital storytelling to programing education, and they will be used effectively as basic references for any relevant field to design measures for programing education of students at elementary school in the future.
Curriculum and Characterization Subjects Development for Department of IT convergence Based Army Contract

This study proposed an IT convergence curriculum for educating the Non-Commissioned Officers. This program was produced by the comprehensive reference to the curriculums of military academies and systematic and rational modelling. The key features of the proposed curriculum are to consolidate the following three areas to meet the needs of the NCO, a recipient of the education. First, IT related subjects were posed as a mainstay of the curriculum that is critical for the scientific and information advancement of the forces. Second, the military leadership courses were included in the effective management of the soldiers. Third, military counseling certificate courses were included, a ground breaking trial nationally. In addition to this, we presented a characterized courses that focus on hands-on skills and knowledge for performing the duties of the NCO.
