An Implementation of a Video-Equipped Real-Time Fire Detection Algorithm Using GPGPU

This paper proposes a parallel implementation of the video based 4-stage fire detection algorithm using a general-purpose graphics processing unit (GPGPU) to support real-time processing of the high computational algorithm. In addition, this paper compares the performance of the GPGPU based fire detection implementation with that of the CPU implementation to show the effectiveness of the proposed method. Experimental results using five fire included videos with an SXGA (
) resolution, the proposed GPGPU implementation achieves 6.6x better performance that the CPU implementation, showing 30.53ms per frame which satisfies real-time processing (30 frames per second, 30fps) of the fire detection algorithm.
Coupled data classification method using unsupervised learning and fuzzy logic in Cloud computing environment

In This paper, we propose the unsupervised learning and fuzzy logic-based coupled data classification method base on ART. The unsupervised learning-based data classification helps improve the grouping technique, but decreases the processing efficiency. However, the data classification requires the decision technique to induce high success rate of data classification with optimal threshold. Therefore it is also necessary to solve the uncertainty of the threshold decision. The proposed method deduces the optimal threshold with the designing of fuzzy parameter and rules. In order to evaluate the proposed method, we design the simulation model with the GPCR(G protein coupled receptor) data in cloud computing environment. Simulation results verify the efficiency of our method with the high recognition rate and low processing time.
Estimating Bathroom Water-uses based on Time Series Regression

Analysis of influential factors on water consumption in households will help predicting the water demand of end-use in household and give an explanation to cause on the change of trend. In this research, the data are gathered by radio telemetry system which is combined electronic flow-meter and wireless communication system in 140 household in Korea. Using this data, we estimate for each residential type to determine liter per capita day. we used real data to predict bathtub and washbowl water-uses and compared the ordinary least square regression model and autoregressive regression error model. The results of this study can be applied in the planning stages of water and waste water facilities.
Pupil Detection using Hybrid Projection Function and Rank Order Filter

In this paper, we propose a pupil detection method using hybrid projection function and rank order filter. To reduce error to detect eyebrows as pupil, eyebrows are detected using hybrid projection function in face region and eye region is set to not include the eyebrows. In the eye region, potential pupil candidates are detected using rank order filter and then the positions of pupil candidates are corrected. The pupil candidates are grouped into pairs based on geometric constraints. A similarity measure is obtained for two eye of each pair using template matching, we select a pair with the smallest similarity measure as final two pupils. The experiments have been performed for 700 images of the BioID face database. The pupil detection rate is 92.4% and the proposed method improves about 21.5% over the existing method..
3D Pointing for Effective Hand Mouse in Depth Image

This paper proposes a 3D pointing interface that is designed for the efficient application of a hand mouse. The proposed method uses depth images to secure high-quality results even in response to changes in lighting and environmental conditions and uses the normal vector of the palm of the hand to perform 3D pointing. First, the hand region is detected and tracked using the existing conventional method; based on the information thus obtained, the region of the palm is predicted and the region of interest is obtained. Once the region of interest has been identified, this region is approximated by the plane equation and the normal vector is extracted. Next, to ensure stable control, interpolation is performed using the extracted normal vector and the intersection point is detected. For stability and efficiency, the dynamic weight using the sigmoid function is applied to the above detected intersection point, and finally, this is converted into the 2D coordinate system. This paper explains the methods of detecting the region of interest and the direction vector and proposes a method of interpolating and applying the dynamic weight in order to stabilize control. Lastly, qualitative and quantitative analyses are performed on the proposed 3D pointing method to verify its ability to deliver stable control.
An effective quality improvement scheme of magnified image using the surface characteristics in image

In this paper, we proposed an effective quality improvement scheme of magnified image using the surface characteristics in image. If the surface in image is estimated as simple convex surface or simple concave surface, the interpolated value can be calculated to have the surface characteristics by using the other method in the proposed scheme. The calculated value becomes the interpolated pixel value inmagnified image. So, themagnified image reflects the surface characteristics of the real image. If the surface is not estimated as simple convex surface or simple concave surface, the interpolated value is calculated more accurately than bilinear interpolation by using the method of the proposed scheme. The PSNR values of the magnified images using the proposed schemes are greater than those of the magnified images using the previous interpolation schemes.
Game Theoretic Approach for Energy Efficient Rate Scheduling on the interference channel

A game theoretic approach is applied for studying the energy efficient rate scheduling. The individual utility function is defined first. Then, a non cooperative rate game is modeled in which each user decides the transmission rate to maximize its own utility. The utility function considered here is the consumed energy for the individual user's data transmissions. In particular, using the fact that the utility function is convex, we prove the existence of Nash Equilibrium in the energy efficient rate scheduling problem at hand. Accordingly, a non cooperative scheduling algorithm is provided. For better energy efficiency, the sum of the individual user's utility function is optimized Finally, the convergence analysis and numerical results to show the energy efficiency of the proposed algorithms are provided.
Clustering for Improved Actor Connectivity and Coverage in Wireless Sensor and Actor Networks

This paper proposes an algorithm that forms the clusters on the basis of hop distance in order to improve the actor coverage and connectivity in the sink-based wireless sensor and actor networks. The proposed algorithm forms the clusters that are distributed evenly in the target area by electing the CHs(Cluster Heads) at regular hop intervals from a sink. The CHs are elected sequentially from the sink in order to ensure the connectivity between the sink and the actors that are located on the CHs. Additionally, the electing are achieved from the area of the higher rate of the sensors density in order to improve the actor coverage. The number of clusters that are created in the target area and the number of the actors that are placed on the positions of the CHs are reduced by forming the clusters with regular distribution and minimizing the overlap of them through the proposed algorithm. Simulations are performed to verify that the proposed algorithm constructs the actor network that is connected to the sink. Moreover, we shows that the proposed algorithm improves the actor coverage and, therefore, reduces the amount of the actors that will be deployed in the region by 9~20% compared to the IDSC algorithm.

Meta-data Configuration and Wellness Feature Analysis Technique for Wellness Content Recommendation

Research into recommendation systems for wellness content has focused on representative research on the convergence of wellness and information technology, as interest in wellness has recently increased. But existing research is not suitable because it uses only one or two of the five wellness areas: physical, emotional, social, intellectual, and spiritual. And It cause decline of reliability and satisfaction for recommendation. Thus, a wellness areal feature analysis and integration management technique is needed. In this paper, suggest meta-data configuration and feature analysis technique of content. Also Cosine similarity of wellness areal features of the content was analyzed by applying a wellness areal score calculated in this way and by suggested wellness areal detailed properties and a measurement system to verify the efficiency of this research. This allows the wellness features of contents analyzed, and even will be able to personalized recommendations service for wellness.
The Development of the User-Customizable Favorites-based Smart Phone UX/UI Using Tap Pattern Similarity

In this paper, we design a smart phone UX/UI and a tap pattern recognition algorithm that can recognize tap patterns from a tapping user's fingers on the screen, and implement an application that provides user-customizable smart phones's services from the tap patterns. A user can generate a pattern by tapping the input pad several times and register it by using a smart phone's favorite program. More specifically, when the user inputs a tap pattern on the input pad, the proposed application searches a stored similar tap pattern and can run a service registered on it by measuring tap pattern similarity. Our experimental results show that the proposed method helps to guarantee the higher recognition rate and shorter input time for a variety of tap patterns.
Removing Baseline Drift in ECG Signal using Morphology-pair Operation and median value

This paper proposed the method of removing baseline drift by eliminating local maxima such as P, R, T-wave signal region and local minima Q, S-wave signal region. We applied morphology-pair operations improved from morphology operation to the ECG signal. To eliminate overshoot in the result of morphology-pair operation, we apply median value operation to the result of morphology-pair operation. We use MIT/BIH database to estimate the proposed algorithm. Experiment result show that proposed algorithm removing baseline drift effectively without orignal ECG signal distortion.
A 3D Posture Measuring and Display System for Hemiplegic Patients

TIn this paper, Hemiplegic patients have gait characteristics different from normal persons. This paper presents a posture measuring and display system reflecting their characteristics. Patients wear 3 sensor modules on thigh, calf and foot. To enhance measuring precision of each sensor module, 3D accelerometer and 3D gyroscope are combined. Gait posture is displayed in 3D by modeling thigh, calf and foot as connected 3D objects based on data of the sensor modules. For convenience in inspecting unusual gait posture of hemiplegic patients, any view angle of the 3D display can be selected. In addition, the current gait phase of RLA(Rancho Los Amigos) gait cycle is determined and displayed in real-time by utilizing the posture information, The phase sequence and duration of each phase can be used in evaluating gait quality of patients.
Hand Rehabilitation System Using a Hand Motion Recognition Device

The patients who have illness of hand and upper limb should be received rehabilitation treatment to recover such illness. The rehabilitation treatments is a treatments designed to facilitate the process of recovery from injury, illness, or disease to as normal a condition as possible. This should be done continuously and repeatedly. In this paper, we describe hand-rehabilitation system which provides a treatment method improving and recovering the function of injured hands. Expecially, this system is using a leap motion device which can easily and properly identify and trace a hand motion and provide six treatment patterns for hand rehabilitation. By using this system, the patients can do rehabilitation treatment easily and continuously in their daily life and in result, the achievement of treatment will be improved.
A Study on Negligence of Data Modeling Fundamentals at the University Job Information System

In this essay, we hoped to see how the operational university job database systems perform badly, since there are a lot of signs that they fall short of data design fundamentals. Fortunately, we are able to choose a university employment support database(UESD) application as a candidate for our study. We have taken UESD system as it is and we have developed an enhanced version of the UESD system, which strictly followed the basic fundamentals in data modeling and named it as NewUESD system. Then, we have conducted a comparison to see how much UESD system is deviated from the standard balancedness found in NewUESD. From the perspective of data obesity, we computed how much UESD contains unnecessary data. The NewUESD contained no unnecessary data at all, which implies that it has only data that is necessary to form a data model. But the data obesity of UESD system is found to be more than 50%. Therefore, it is significantly higher, 37% higher in this case, than the obesity judged to be normal, which is 19% in NewUESD system.
The Relationship between Social Support and Ego-resilience, Job Satisfaction of Workers Working at the public health center

This study synthetically investigated the relationship between social support and ego resilience, job satisfaction of the public health center workers providing medical service to local residents at the front. Unlike previous researches, this study took all variables of social support, ego resilience and job satisfaction into account, moreover, regarded it as important to verify mediated effect of ego resilience through influencing relationship between social support and job satisfaction. At the result of actual proof analysis via surveys, the social support of the public health center workers indicated the mediated effect on ego resilience and job satisfaction, besides, ego resilience influenced on job satisfaction and the mediated effect of ego resilience was also shown. Therefore, this study emphasized importance of the psychological satisfaction for the public health center workers as to provide residents better medical service based on the empirical testing result.
A Survey on the Perception for Legal Education Efficiency of Engineering Department

This study conducted a survey on the perception for legal education efficiency of engineering department. This study is to search for more efficient legal education method to engineering department's students, reflecting the reality that our universities have appointed the subjects - related with engineering accreditation such as engineering law - as compulsory subjects. The method of this study is that with questionnaire extracted the advanced researches, it selected the 180 undergraduates of engineering college in C university as original samples, chose 161 data as final efficient samples except for 19 untrustworthy respondent, analyzed and drew the result. The specific results are as follows. In case of legal education in engineering department, it was found that women rather than men, the students first taking the subject more than those retaking the subject, the students who have taken the basic law subjects such as law and society, an introduction to law, and the students who hope to get a job in their major field showed the higher class concentration degree and satisfaction degree.

The rapid development of the current information and communication brings big changes and progress in the health service delivery system. And it is becoming the worldwide trend increasingly. In order to implement established what policy peacefully is sufficient review and dialogue, social consensus are integral components. The government in the telemedicine services, health care industry that is directly related to the public health and development spheres as nations of the society which to vote on new growth policy is a great social health policies of the push ahead with an unconditional side effects. But before it was activated, telemedicine, which is capable of ensuring the health and lives of the people in need of revision of the safety and effectiveness of any kind, and enforces a stretch enough before review and social consensus, must necessarily be a prerequisite. In conclusion, it presently appears to be inappropriate and impossible to conduct telemedicine system through the foreign of telemedicine. It suggested to present the problems on telemedicine in korea.
The Impacts of Adolescent's Oiettolie Propensity on Game Addiction Behavior : Focusing on Moderating Effects of Family Stress

The purpose of this study is to suggest some policy implications for the youth through empirical study about the moderating effects of high school students' family stress in the relationship of Oiettolie propensity and game addiction behaviors including bullies, social phobia and emotional instability. For the purpose of this study, this study established a causal model about the relationships among the research variables through review of previous studies and surveyed high school students for empirical research. The results of this study shows that Oiettolie propensity impacts on youth's game addiction and brings about game addiction behaviors like bullies, social phobia and emotional instability. Especially, this study shows that Oiettolie propensity impacts on social phobia most. Also, family stress has a moderating effects for the relationships among the variables. This study presents some policy implications for the youth.
The Effects on the Factors of Scholar Resilience for Self-efficiency and Scholar Attainment of High School Student : An Analysis on the Control Effects of Stress Scale

This study analyzed whether the factors of studying resilience of high school students had a control effect on self-efficacy and academic achievements depending on the degree of stress. For this purpose, this study set the cause and effect model and the research hypothesis through literature and then conducted a survey of 292 people of high school students in G metropolitan city. The analysis of this study showed that recognition ability and communication skill, which are the factors of studying resilience, had different effects on self-efficacy and academic achievements depending on the degree of stress. It has great significance that if the stress level of the high school students is lower, self-efficacy and academic achievements are higher. Therefore, this study suggested how to inspire the academic achievements based on the results of this analysis.
An Analysis on the Internet Use of the Korean Older Adults focused on their Socioeconomic Characteristics

The purpose of this study is to analyse on the internet use of Korean older adults focused on their socioeconomic characteristics. For this study, data were collected through the face to face interview with aged over 60 using a questionnaire for the residence of Daegu and Kyungsang Buk-Do areas. Subjects were divided into socioeconomic characteristics such as gender, education level, economic level, religion, and life satisfaction. The data were analysed the elderly's internet use such as frequency of internet access, motivation of internet use, utilization of internet, and usefulness of internet based on their socioeconomic characteristics. The results of this empirical study revealed that there exist a significant differences between internet use and socioeconomic characteristics in elderly people. It is hoped that the results of this study provide an essential data for developing the policy of the elderly's digital divide and welfare.
