Sun, Bok-Keun ;
Journal of the Korea Society of Computer and Information, volume 20, issue 7, 2015, Pages 1~7
DOI : 10.9708/jksci.2015.20.7.001
Although data on the internet can be used in various fields such as source of data of IR(Information Retrieval), Data mining and knowledge information servece, and contains a lot of unnecessary information. The removal of the unnecessary data is a problem to be solved prior to the study of the knowledge-based information service that is based on the data of the web page, in this paper, we solve the problem through the implementation of XTractor(XPath Extractor). Since XPath is used to navigate the attribute data and the data elements in the XML document, the XPath analysis to be carried out through the XTractor. XTractor Extracts main text by html parsing, XPath grouping and detecting the XPath contains the main data. The result, the recognition and precision rate are showed in 97.9%, 93.9%, except for a few cases in a large amount of experimental data and it was confirmed that it is possible to properly extract the main text of the news.

Kim, Seung-Hyun ; Lee, Joon-Goo ; Hwang, Doo-Sung ;
Journal of the Korea Society of Computer and Information, volume 20, issue 7, 2015, Pages 9~16
DOI : 10.9708/jksci.2015.20.7.009
This paper proposes the parallel design of a shot change detection algorithm using frame segmentation and moving blocks. In the proposed approach, the high parallel processing components, such as frame histogram calculation, block histogram calculation, Otsu threshold setting function, frame moving operation, and block histogram comparison, are designed in parallel for NVIDIA GPU. In order to minimize memory access delay time and guarantee fast computation, the output of a GPU kernel becomes the input data of another kernel in a pipeline way using the shared memory of GPU. In addition, the optimal sizes of CUDA processing blocks and threads are estimated through the prior experiments. In the experimental test of the proposed shot change detection algorithm, the detection rate of the GPU based parallel algorithm is the same as that of the CPU based algorithm, but the average of processing time speeds up about 6~8 times.

Jung, Do-Wook ; Choi, Hyung-Il ;
Journal of the Korea Society of Computer and Information, volume 20, issue 7, 2015, Pages 17~24
DOI : 10.9708/jksci.2015.20.7.017
In this paper, we propose a method to solve ghosting problem. To generate adaptive background, using an exponentially decreasing number of frames, may improve object detection performance. To extract moving objects from the background by using a differential image, detection error may be caused by object rotations or environmental changes. A ghosting problem can be issue-driven when there are outdoor environmental changes and moving objects. We studied that a differential image by adaptive background may reduce the ghosting problem. In experimental results, we test that our method can solve the ghosting problem.

Kim, Lok-Young ; Choi, Yeong-Woo ;
Journal of the Korea Society of Computer and Information, volume 20, issue 7, 2015, Pages 25~32
DOI : 10.9708/jksci.2015.20.7.025
In this paper, we propose a license plate detection method of running cars in various road images. The proposed method first classifies the road image into day and night images to improve detection accuracy, and then the tail-light regions are detected by finding red color areas in RGB color space. The candidate regions of the license plate areas are detected by using symmetrical property, size, width and variance of the tail-light regions, and to find the license plate areas of the various sizes the morphological operations with adaptive size structuring elements are applied. Finally, the plate area is verified and confirmed with the geometrical and image features of the license plate areas. The proposed method was tested with the various road images and the detection rates (precisions) of 84.2% of day images and 87.4% of night images were achieved.

Lee, Sang-Un ;
Journal of the Korea Society of Computer and Information, volume 20, issue 7, 2015, Pages 33~40
DOI : 10.9708/jksci.2015.20.7.033
The time slot assignment problem (TSAP) or Satellite Communications scheduling problem (SCSP) for a satellite performs
ground station data traffic switching has been known NP-hard problem. This paper suggests
time complexity algorithm for TSAP of a satellite that performs
ground station data traffic switching. This problem is more difficult than
TSAP as NP-hard problem. Firstly, we compute the average traffic for n-transponder's basic coverage zone and applies ground station exchange method that swap the ground stations until all of the transponders have a average value as possible. Nextly, we transform the D matrix to
traffic matrix that sum of rows and columns all of transponders have LB. Finally, we select the maximum traffic of row and column in
, then decide the duration of kth switch mode to minimum traffic from selected values. The proposed algorithm can be get the optimal solution for experimental data.
Maximum Degree Vertex Central Located Algorithm for Bandwidth Minimization Problem
Lee, Sang-Un ;
Journal of the Korea Society of Computer and Information, volume 20, issue 7, 2015, Pages 41~47
DOI : 10.9708/jksci.2015.20.7.041
The bandwidth minimization problem (BMP) has been classified as NP-complete because the polynomial time algorithm to find the optimal solution has been unknown yet. This paper suggests polynomial time heuristic algorithm is to find the solution of bandwidth minimization problem. To find the minimum bandwidth
for given graph G=(V,E), m=|V|,n=|E|, the proposed algorithm sets the maximum degree vertex
in graph G into global central point (GCP), and labels the median value
between [1,m] range. The graph G is partitioned into subgroup, the maximum degree vertex in each subgroup is set to local central point (LCP), and we adjust the label of LCP per each subgroup as possible as minimum distance from GCP. The proposed algorithm requires O(mn) time complexity for label to all of vertices. For various twelve graph, the proposed algorithm can be obtains the same result as known optimal solution. For one graph, the proposed algorithm can be improve on known solution.

Sohn, Surg-Won ;
Journal of the Korea Society of Computer and Information, volume 20, issue 7, 2015, Pages 57~64
DOI : 10.9708/jksci.2015.20.7.057
In this paper, we propose a design of microwave motion detector using X-band doppler radar sensor to minimize the power consumption. To minimize the power consumption and implement battery operated system, pulse input with 2 KHz, 4% duty cycle is exerted on the doppler radar sensor. In order to simplify the process of working with ATmega2560 microcontroller unit, Arduino compatible board is designed and implemented. Arduino is open source hardware and many library software is published as open source tools. Smartphone app is also proposed and designed as a real-time user interface of the motion detector. The SQLite database on the Android mobile operating system is used for recording raw data of motion detection for post-processing job, such as fast Fourier transform (FFT). Bluetooth interface module is implemented on the motion detection board as a wireless communication interface to the smartphone. The speed of human movement is identified by post-processing FFT.

The study also is to suggest a few of research propositions on the relationships between required features of SNS sites and characteristics of SNS users, based on statistical analyses. To accomplish these research purposes, the study defined characteristics of SNS users including demographic(gender, age) and service usage one(start time of service usage, service usage place), and required features of SNS sites(system, service, information, emotion) based on the literature review of SNS. The results show, based on the statistical analyses using survey questionnaire on Korean and Chinese SNS users, that there are differences in perception of required features of SNS sites among the respondents grouped by age, start time of service usage, service usage place. Finally, the study proposed three research propositions, based on the analysis result, that could be used in SNS related researches in the future.
Group-Performance Based Pay of Publicly Traded Companies and Its Association with Value Added Productivity per Employee
Yang, Donghoon ;
Journal of the Korea Society of Computer and Information, volume 20, issue 7, 2015, Pages 85~90
DOI : 10.9708/jksci.2015.20.7.085
This study surveyed 152 publicly traded companies to investigate group-performance based pay practices and its impacts on labor productivity. Compared a benchmark survey from Department of Labor, those companies show higher introduction rates, especially in small-to-medium sized companies. They also tend to pay profit-sharing bonus more in the form of company stocks and differentiate individual bonuses more by department performance than individual performance. The impact of group-performance based pay on labor productivity is positive and statistically significant. Economic value added per person in those companies adopting group-performance based pay tends to be higher and increases with the coverage of employees under the pay plan. It also reveals that the years after the play adoption are negatively associated with labor productivity.

Lee, Hyoung-Ha ;
Journal of the Korea Society of Computer and Information, volume 20, issue 7, 2015, Pages 99~107
DOI : 10.9708/jksci.2015.20.7.099
This study purposed to analyze difference in experience of life in Korea among adolescents whose immigrant backgrounds were different (Korean-born children of multicultural families and foreign-born immigrant children) using the data of the 2012 National Survey of Multicultural Families (adolescent children aged between 9 and 24). According to the results of analysis, first, multicultural adolescents with immigrant backgrounds experienced 'difficulty in using the Korean language (speaking, listening, reading, and writing),' 'school dropout,' and 'school violence' more frequently than Korean-born multicultural adolescents. Second, with regard to social discrimination (friends, teachers, relatives, neighbors, and unknown people), multicultural adolescents with immigrant backgrounds experienced 'discrimination by teachers,' 'discrimination by relatives,' 'discrimination by neighbors,' and 'discrimination by unknown people' more frequently than Korean-born multicultural adolescents. By analyzing these differences, this study suggested directions for differentiated support policies and specific strategies for adjustment to life in Korea by multicultural family adolescents with different backgrounds.

Gu, Hyung-Keun ;
Journal of the Korea Society of Computer and Information, volume 20, issue 7, 2015, Pages 109~114
DOI : 10.9708/jksci.2015.20.7.109
With the realization that the police's personal information gathering activities can violate the authority to decide one's information guaranteed by the Constitution, many people are interested in the legal terms of the police's information gathering and handling. The police's personal information gathering activities imply both the purpose of public welfare and order and the risk of violation of basic rights of citizens, their effective balance is critical. In this respect, this study reviews the principle of proportion as a principle of control of personal information gathering and handling (police intelligence activities) by state to discuss its implications on legislation.

DOI : 10.9708/jksci.2015.20.7.115
The old people's feelings, emotions, and self-evaluative judgements fluctuate overtime. The purpose of this paper is to proof relations among well-being factors in social activity. Major results of this paper was as follows. First, the social activity participated elderly had higher health status, self-esteem, mental-health, and successful aging than the non-participated elderly. Second, self-esteem and mental health were exposed as important variable for all of the two groups to improve the successful aging. Thus, self-esteem and mental health can become significant indicator of self-empowering and psychological resilience. Third, the strongest total causal effect of successful aging was health status in social activity participated elderly, while self-esteem was the greatest total causal effect of it in the non-participated elderly. Health status had higher indirect effect of successful aging than direct effect of it in both of them.

Kim, Jae-Nam ;
Journal of the Korea Society of Computer and Information, volume 20, issue 7, 2015, Pages 121~127
DOI : 10.9708/jksci.2015.20.7.121
This study is about establishing the policy direction according to the perception change of the welfare service of the aged. To achieve this goal, this study analyzed the reprocessed result of the survey related to the welfare of the aged among the second and third community social welfare plans of D county, Southern Jeolla Province. The result shows the recipients of the welfare service of the aged have higher perception about spreading the hardware side such as the welfare facility of the aged than about practicing the software policy such as elder care services. It suggests significant implication in deciding the priority of the welfare policy of the aged from now on. But this result is confined in D county, so getting the generalized conclusion needs the comprehensive review toward more broad regions hereafter.
