Journal of the Korea Society of Computer and Information, volume 6, issue 1, 2001, Pages 14~24
The huge and complicated plants such as nuclear power stations are likely to cause the operators to make mistakes due to a variety of inexplicable reasons and symptoms in case of emergency. Thats why the prevention system assisting the operators is being developed for. First of all. I suggest an improved fuzzy diagnosis. Secondly. I want to demonstrate that a classification system of nuclear plants accident investigating the causes of accidents foresees possible problems. and maintains the reliability of the diagnostic reports in spite of improper working in part. In the event of emergency in a nuclear plant, a lot of operational steps enable the operators to find out what caused the problems based on an emergent operating plan. Our system is able to classify their types within twenty to thirty seconds. As so, we expect the system to put don the accidents right after the rapid detection of the damage control-method concerned.

Cho, Sung-Mok ;
Journal of the Korea Society of Computer and Information, volume 6, issue 1, 2001, Pages 31~37
Human psychovisual phenomena involved in extracting features is more sensitive in dark regions than in bright regions Therefore, feature extracting operators should be considered local intensities in order to perceive objects analogous to human vision system. Generally, conventional feature extracting operators have some handicaps like an computational complexity or multivariable needs. In this paper a novel feature extracting operator is proposed to overcome these demerits. This operator could be implemented very simply and be proved good performances through experiments applied to synthetic and real images.

Journal of the Korea Society of Computer and Information, volume 6, issue 1, 2001, Pages 38~44
Nowadays, the study on XML as a standard method of exchange of information is active as Internet technology develops. This thesis designs and implements XML documents storage system using uniSQL/X in object-relational database. The system takes advantage of the merits of object-oriented databases, so that the structural information of XML documents can be effectively represented. The system uses split-storage method to allow frequent modifications of XML documents and suggests DTD-independent model so that it can store XML documents without DTD. And retrieval speed is improved by solving the issue of data duplication.
A Hybrid Type Shaping Scheme in ATM Networks
Journal of the Korea Society of Computer and Information, volume 6, issue 1, 2001, Pages 45~50
Congestion may take place in the ATM network because of high-speed cell transmission features, and cell delay and loss also can be caused by unexpected traffic variation. Thus. traffic control mechanisms are needed. One of them to decrease congestion is the cell shaping. This paper proposes a hybrid type cell shaper composed of a Leaky Bucket with token pool, EWMA with time window, and a spacing control buffer. The simulator BONeS with the ON/OFF traffic source model evaluates the performance of the proposed cell shaping method. Simulation results show that the cell shaping concerning the respective source traffics is adapted to and then controlled on the mean bit rate.

The size of router buffers has been studied through simulation processes for the analysis of performance capacity in due course of making changes in routing time(RT), which is the performance capacity parameters of high-speed ATM routers, flow table size(FS), flow live time(FT) and input circuit efficiencies. The result of this study can be used as the source material for analyzing the suitability of equipment in upgrading networks and applying high-speed ATM routers by using ATM switches.
A Study on the Automatic Document Segmentation using Stochastic Method
Journal of the Korea Society of Computer and Information, volume 6, issue 1, 2001, Pages 82~89
It is a document segmentation to set a boundary in the documents by the contents. It is essential for the accurate and efficient information search. In this paper we want to make an automatic document segmentation system with the method of probability analysis which uses the mutual information between the words. Proposed system can move the boundary of window and compute the similarity or the two window. In this system the more words are shared and the more important the words are, the higher the cohesive force of the two window systems goes. The result of experience with the document segmentation is that despite the differences of block unit the division point at which we expected to divide was normally divided.
Marketing Strategy for the Digital Age
Journal of the Korea Society of Computer and Information, volume 6, issue 1, 2001, Pages 90~94
A new word, “Prosumer”, refers to a person who develops and produces goods which they would like to purchase online in real time. Consumers do not simply rely on choosing the good provided by manufactures any more. They are involved in the process of manufacturing good and the creation of organized purchase groups. They aim to purchase the best quality good at the lowest price through reverse auction under the warranty system. If the consumer's way of thinking is controlled by company owners and corporate CEO's profit-centered policy making, the companies will fail to keep pace with the current stream of the digital marketing age, and be destined for failure. I will discuss the changing marketing environment, new marketing strategy, and marketing realization on the internet in this thesis.
