CLAPP-PUPPE TYPE LUSTERNIK-SCHNIRELMANN (CO)CATEGORY IN A MODEL CATEGORY

Abstract
We introduce Clapp-Puppe type generalized Lusternik-Schnirelmann (co)category in a Quillen model category. We establish some of their basic properties and give various characterizations of them. As the first application of these characterizations, we show that our generalized (co)category is invariant under Quillen modelization equivalences. In particular, generalized (co)category is invariant under Quillen modelization equivalences. In particular, generalized (co)category of spaces and simplicial sets coincide. Another application of these characterizations is to define and study rational cocategory. Various other applications are also given.

R-CRITICAL WEYL STRUCTURES

Abstract
Weyl structure can be viewed as generalizations of Riemannian metrics. We study Weyl structures which are critical points of the squared L
norm functional of the full curvature tensor, defined on the space of Weyl structures on a compact 4-manifold. We find some relationship between these critical Weyl structures and the critical Riemannian metrics. Then in a search for homogeneous critical structures we study left-invariant metrics on some solv-manifolds and prove that they are not critical.

Abstract
We study the compatibility conditions and the existence of solutions or overdetermined PDE systems that admit complete prolongation. For a complete system of order k there exists a submanifold of the (
-1)st jet space of unknown functions that is the largest possible set on which the initial conditions of (
-1)st order may take values. There exists a unique solution for any initial condition that belongs to this set if and only if the complete system satisfies the compatibility conditions on the initial data set. We prove by applying the Frobenius theorem to a Pfaffian differential system associated with the complete prolongation.

Abstract
The method of quasilinearization generates a monotone iteration scheme whose iterates converge quadratically to a unique solution of the problem at hand. In this paper, we apply the method to two families of three-point boundary value problems for second order ordinary differential equations: Linear boundary conditions and nonlinear boundary conditions are addressed independently. For linear boundary conditions, an appropriate Green\`s function is constructed. Fer nonlinear boundary conditions, we show that these nonlinearities can be addressed similarly to the nonlinearities in the differential equation.
