Abstract
In this paper, we establish a number system in

THE TRAPEZOIDAL RULE WITH A NONLINEAR COORDINATE TRANSFORMATION FOR WEAKLY SINGULAR INTEGRALS
Yun, Beong-In ;
Journal of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 41, issue 6, 2004, Pages 957~976
DOI : 10.4134/JKMS.2004.41.6.957
Abstract
It is well known that the application of the nonlinear coordinate transformations is useful for efficient numerical evaluation of weakly singular integrals. In this paper, we consider the trapezoidal rule combined with a nonlinear transformation
(b;
), containing a parameter b, proposed first by Yun [14]. It is shown that the trapezoidal rule with the transformation
(b;
), like the case of the Gauss-Legendre quadrature rule, can improve the asymptotic truncation error by using a moderately large b. By several examples, we compare the numerical results of the present method with those of some existing methods. This shows the superiority of the transformation
(b;

ON ROTATION SURFACES IN THE MINKOWSKI 3-DIMENSIONAL SPACE WITH POINTWISE 1-TYPE GAUSS MAP
Athoumane Niang ;
Journal of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 41, issue 6, 2004, Pages 1007~1021
DOI : 10.4134/JKMS.2004.41.6.1007
Abstract
In this paper, we study rotation surfaces in the Minkowski 3-dimensional space with pointwise 1-type Gauss map and obtain by the use of the concept of pointwise finite type Gauss map, a characterization theorem concerning rotation surfaces and constancy of the mean curvature of certain open subsets on these surfaces.

Journal of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 41, issue 6, 2004, Pages 1035~1047
DOI : 10.4134/JKMS.2004.41.6.1035
Abstract
In this paper, we study the unit tangent sphere bundles T

STRONG CONSISTENCY FOR AR MODEL WITH MISSING DATA
Lee, Myung-Sook ;
Journal of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 41, issue 6, 2004, Pages 1071~1086
DOI : 10.4134/JKMS.2004.41.6.1071
Abstract
This paper is concerned with the strong consistency of the estimators of the autocovariance function and the spectral density function for the autoregressive process in the case where only an amplitude modulated process with missing data is observed. These results will give a simple and practical sufficient condition for the strong consistency of those estimators. Finally, some examples are given to illustrate the application of main result.

METRICAL AND TOPOLOGICAL PRESSURE OF FLOWS WITHOUT FIXED POINTS
Lianfa He ; Fenghong Yang ; Yinghui Gao ;
Journal of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 41, issue 6, 2004, Pages 1087~1099
DOI : 10.4134/JKMS.2004.41.6.1087
Abstract
We study the metrical and topological pressure for flows without fixed points on a compact metric space, and get the results as follows: (1) The metrical pressure with respect to an ergodic measure can be defined by (t,
)-spanning sets. (2) The topological pressure is the supremum of metrical pressures with respect to all ergodic measures. (3) The properties that the topological pressure is zero, nonzero, finite or infinite respectively are invariant under weak equivalence.

HOMOTOPY FIXED POINT SETS AND ACTIONS ON HOMOGENEOUS SPACES OF p-COMPACT GROUPS
Kenshi Ishiguro ; Lee, Hyang-Sook ;
Journal of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 41, issue 6, 2004, Pages 1101~1114
DOI : 10.4134/JKMS.2004.41.6.1101
Abstract
We generalize a result of Dror Farjoun and Zabrodsky on the relationship between fixed point sets and homotopy fixed point sets, which is related to the generalized Sullivan Conjecture. As an application, we discuss extension problems considering actions on homogeneous spaces of p-compact groups.
