GENERALIZED FRÉCHET-URYSOHN SPACES
Hong, Woo-Chorl ;
Journal of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 44, issue 2, 2007, Pages 261~273
DOI : 10.4134/JKMS.2007.44.2.261
Abstract
In this paper, we introduce some new properties of a topological space which are respectively generalizations of
-Urysohn property. We show that countably AP property is a sufficient condition for a space being countable tightness, sequential, weakly first countable and symmetrizable, to be ACP,
, first countable and semimetrizable, respectively. We also prove that countable compactness is a sufficient condition for a countably AP space to be countably
. We then show that a countably compact space satisfying one of the properties mentioned here is sequentially compact. And we show that a countably compact and countably AP space is maximal countably compact if and only if it is
. We finally obtain a sufficient condition for the ACP closure operator
to be a Kuratowski topological closure operator and related results.

INSTANTONS ON CONIC 4-MANIFOLDS: FREDHOLM THEORY
Li, Weiping ; Wang, Shuguang ;
Journal of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 44, issue 2, 2007, Pages 275~296
DOI : 10.4134/JKMS.2007.44.2.275
Abstract
We study the self-duality operator on conic 4-manifolds. The self-duality operator can be identified as a regular singular operator in the sense of
and Seeley, based on which we construct its parametrizations and closed extensions. We also compute the indexes.

Journal of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 44, issue 2, 2007, Pages 297~306
DOI : 10.4134/JKMS.2007.44.2.297
Abstract
In this paper, we present a new kind of duality between intersection bodies and projection bodies. Furthermore, we establish some counterparts of dual Brunn-Minkowski inequalities for intersection bodies.

Journal of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 44, issue 2, 2007, Pages 307~326
DOI : 10.4134/JKMS.2007.44.2.307
Abstract
We know that there are no real hypersurfaces with parallel Ricci tensor or parallel structure Jacobi operator in a nonflat complex space form (See [4], [6], [10] and [11]). In this paper we investigate real hypersurfaces M in a nonflat complex space form
under the condition that
respectively denote the Ricci tensor and the structure Jacobi operator of M in

EXTINCTION AND PERMANENCE OF A KIND OF PEST-PREDATOR MODELS WITH IMPULSIVE EFFECT AND INFINITE DELAY
Song, Xinyu ; Guo, Hongjian ;
Journal of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 44, issue 2, 2007, Pages 327~342
DOI : 10.4134/JKMS.2007.44.2.327
Abstract
In this paper, a kind of pest-predator model with impulsive effect and infinite delay is considered by the method of chain transform. By using Floquet's theorem, it is shown that there exists a globally asymptotically stable periodic pest eradication solution when the impulsive period is less than or equal to some critical value which is a directly proportional function with respect to the population of release. Furthermore, it is proved that the system is permanent if the impulsive period is larger than some critical value. Finally, the results of the corresponding systems are compared, those results obtained in this paper are confirmed by numerical simulation.

Journal of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 44, issue 2, 2007, Pages 343~371
DOI : 10.4134/JKMS.2007.44.2.343
Abstract
We find the super-replication formulae which would be a generalization of replication formulae. And we apply the formulae to derive periodically vanishing property in the Fourier coefficients of the Hauptmodul

Abstract
We study an (n+3)(
real submanifold of a (4m+3)-unit sphere
with Sasakian 3-structure induced from the canonical quaternionic
structure of quaternionic (m+1)-number space
, and especially determine contact three CR-submanifolds with (p-1) contact three CR-dimension under the equality conditions given in (4.1), where p = 4m - n denotes the codimension of the submanifold. Also we provide necessary conditions concerning sectional curvature in order that a compact contact three CR-submanifold of (p-1) contact three CR-dimension in

Journal of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 44, issue 2, 2007, Pages 393~406
DOI : 10.4134/JKMS.2007.44.2.393
Abstract
In the framework of generalized convex spaces, we show that generalized KKM maps can be regarded as ordinary KKM maps, and obtain some applications to equilibrium result, maximal element theorems, and almost fixed point theorems on multimaps of the Zima type.

SPHERICAL SUBMANIFOLDS WITH FINITE TYPE SPHERICAL GAUSS MAP
Chen, Bang-Yen ; Lue, Huei-Shyong ;
Journal of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 44, issue 2, 2007, Pages 407~442
DOI : 10.4134/JKMS.2007.44.2.407
Abstract
The study of Euclidean submanifolds with finite type "classical" Gauss map was initiated by B.-Y. Chen and P. Piccinni in [11]. On the other hand, it was believed that for spherical sub manifolds the concept of spherical Gauss map is more relevant than the classical one (see [20]). Thus the purpose of this article is to initiate the study of spherical submanifolds with finite type spherical Gauss map. We obtain several fundamental results in this respect. In particular, spherical submanifolds with 1-type spherical Gauss map are classified. From which we conclude that all isoparametric hypersurfaces of
have 1-type spherical Gauss map. Among others, we also prove that Veronese surface and equilateral minimal torus are the only minimal spherical surfaces with 2-type spherical Gauss map.

Hwang, Jin-Soo ; Nakagiri, Shin-Ichi ;
Journal of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 44, issue 2, 2007, Pages 443~453
DOI : 10.4134/JKMS.2007.44.2.443
Abstract
We study the equation of a membrane with strong viscosity. Based on the variational formulation corresponding to the suitable function space setting, we have proved the fundamental results on existence, uniqueness and continuous dependence on data of weak solutions.

Journal of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 44, issue 2, 2007, Pages 455~466
DOI : 10.4134/JKMS.2007.44.2.455
Abstract
The zero-distribution of the Fourier integral

ON COMPLETE CONVERGENCE FOR ARRAYS OF ROWWISE INDEPENDENT RANDOM ELEMENTS
Sung Soo-Hak ; Cabrera Manuel Ordonez ; Hu Tien-Chung ;
Journal of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 44, issue 2, 2007, Pages 467~476
DOI : 10.4134/JKMS.2007.44.2.467
Abstract
A complete convergence theorem for arrays of rowwise independent random variables was proved by Sung, Volodin, and Hu [14]. In this paper, we extend this theorem to the Banach space without any geometric assumptions on the underlying Banach space. Our theorem also improves some known results from the literature.

Cheon, Gi-Sang ; El-Mikkawy Moawwad E.A. ;
Journal of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 44, issue 2, 2007, Pages 487~498
DOI : 10.4134/JKMS.2007.44.2.487
