A RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN VERTICES AND QUASI-ISOMORPHISMS FOR A CLASS OF BRACKET GROUPS
Yom, Peter Dong-Jun ;
Journal of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 44, issue 6, 2007, Pages 1197~1211
DOI : 10.4134/JKMS.2007.44.6.1197
Abstract
In this article, we characterize the quasi-isomorphism classes of bracket groups in terms of vertices using vertex-switches. In particular, if two bracket groups are quasi-isomorphic, then there is a sequence of vertex-switches transforming a collection of vertices of a group to a collection of vertices of the other group.

Sohn, Moo-Young ; Xudong, Yuan ; Jeong, Hyeon-Seok ;
Journal of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 44, issue 6, 2007, Pages 1213~1231
DOI : 10.4134/JKMS.2007.44.6.1213
Abstract
The domination number
of a graph G=(V,E) is the minimum cardinality of a subset of V such that every vertex is either in the set or is adjacent to some vertex in the set. The bondage number of b(G) of a graph G is the cardinality of a smallest set of edges whose removal from G results in a graph with domination number greater than
. In this paper, we calculate the bondage number of the Cartesian product of cycles
for all n.

Journal of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 44, issue 6, 2007, Pages 1255~1266
DOI : 10.4134/JKMS.2007.44.6.1255

We establish a weighted norm inequality for a class of rough parametric Marcinkiewicz integral operators
. As an application of this inequality, we obtain weighted
inequalities for a class of parametric Marcinkiewicz integral operators
related to the Littlewood-Paley

ON ANNIHILATOR IDEALS OF A NEARRING OF SKEW POLYNOMIALS OVER A RING
Hashemi, Ebrahim ;
Journal of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 44, issue 6, 2007, Pages 1267~1279
DOI : 10.4134/JKMS.2007.44.6.1267
Abstract
For a ring endomorphism
and an
of a ring R, we study relation between the set of annihilators in R and the set of annihilators in nearring
. Also we extend results of Armendariz on the Baer and p.p. conditions in a polynomial ring to certain analogous annihilator conditions in a nearring of skew polynomials. These results are somewhat surprising since, in contrast to the skew polynomial ring and skew power series case, the nearring of skew polynomials and skew power series have substitution for its "multiplication" operation.

ON THREE SPECTRAL REGULARIZATION METHODS FOR A BACKWARD HEAT CONDUCTION PROBLEM
Xiong, Xiang-Tuan ; Fu, Chu-Li ; Qian, Zhi ;
Journal of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 44, issue 6, 2007, Pages 1281~1290
DOI : 10.4134/JKMS.2007.44.6.1281
Abstract
We introduce three spectral regularization methods for solving a backward heat conduction problem (BHCP). For the three spectral regularization methods, we give the stability error estimates with optimal order under an a-priori and an a-posteriori regularization parameter choice rule. Numerical results show that our theoretical results are effective.

Wang, An ; Zhao, Xin ; Liu, Zhiyin ;
Journal of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 44, issue 6, 2007, Pages 1291~1312
DOI : 10.4134/JKMS.2007.44.6.1291
Abstract
We study some extremal problems on the Cartan-Hartogs domains. Through computing the minimal circumscribed Hermitian ellipsoid of the Cartan-Hartogs domains, we get the
extremal mappings between the Cartan-Hartogs domains and the unit hyperball, and the explicit formulas for computing the
extremal value.

Wu, Zhaojun ; Sun, Daochun ;
Journal of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 44, issue 6, 2007, Pages 1329~1338
DOI : 10.4134/JKMS.2007.44.6.1329
Abstract
In this paper, we study the location of zeros and Borel direction for the solutions of linear homogeneous differential equations
with entire coefficients. Results are obtained concerning the rays near which the exponent of convergence of zeros of the solutions attains its Borel direction. This paper extends previous results due to S. J. Wu and other authors.

L-FUZZY UNIFORM SPACES
Yue, Yue-Li ; Shi, Fu-Gui ;
Journal of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 44, issue 6, 2007, Pages 1383~1396
DOI : 10.4134/JKMS.2007.44.6.1383
Abstract
The aim of this paper is to study L-fuzzy uniformizable spaces. A new kind of topological fuzzy remote neighborhood system is defined and used for investigating the relationship between L-fuzzy co-topology and L-fuzzy (quasi-)uniformity. It is showed that this fuzzy remote neighborhood system is different from that in [23] when
is an L-fuzzy quasi-uniformity and they will be coincident when
is an L-fuzzy uniformity. It is also showed that each L-fuzzy co-topological space is L-fuzzy quasi-uniformizable.

SEMI-DISCRETE CENTRAL DIFFERENCE METHOD FOR DETERMINING SURFACE HEAT FLUX OF IHCP
Qian, Zhi ; Fu, Chu-Li ;
Journal of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 44, issue 6, 2007, Pages 1397~1415
DOI : 10.4134/JKMS.2007.44.6.1397
Abstract
We consider an inverse heat conduction problem(IHCP) in a quarter plane which appears in some applied subjects. We want to determine the heat flux on the surface of a body from a measured temperature history at a fixed location inside the body. This is a severely ill-posed problem in the sense that arbitrarily "small" differences in the input temperature data may lead to arbitrarily "large" differences in the surface flux. A semi-discrete central difference scheme in time is employed to deal with the ill posed problem. We obtain some error estimates which also give the information about how to choose the step length in time. Some numerical examples illustrate the effects of the proposed method.

Journal of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 44, issue 6, 2007, Pages 1429~1440
DOI : 10.4134/JKMS.2007.44.6.1429
Abstract
Let
be a multiple Kravchuk polynomial with respect to r discrete Kravchuk weights. We first find a lowering operator for multiple Kravchuk polynomials
in which the orthogonalizing weights are not involved. Combining the lowering operator and the raising operator by Rodrigues# formula, we find a (r+1)-th order difference equation which has the multiple Kravchuk polynomials
as solutions. Lastly we give an explicit difference equation for
for the case of r=2.

STRONG k-DEFORMATION RETRACT AND ITS APPLICATIONS
Han, Sang-Eon ;
Journal of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 44, issue 6, 2007, Pages 1479~1503
DOI : 10.4134/JKMS.2007.44.6.1479
Abstract
In this paper, we study a strong k-deformation retract derived from a relative k-homotopy and investigate its properties in relation to both a k-homotopic thinning and the k-fundamental group. Moreover, we show that the k-fundamental group of a wedge product of closed k-curves not k-contractible is a free group by the use of some properties of both a strong k-deformation retract and a digital covering. Finally, we write an algorithm for calculating the k-fundamental group of a dosed k-curve by the use of a k-homotopic thinning.
