A NOTE ON SYMMETRIC DIFFERENCES OF ORTHOMODULAR LATTICES
Park, Eunsoon ; Kim, Mi-Mi ; Chung, Jin-Young ;
Communications of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 18, issue 2, 2003, Pages 207~214
DOI : 10.4134/CKMS.2003.18.2.207
Abstract
There exist two distinct Symmetric differences in a non Boolean orthomodular lattics. Let L be an orthomodular lattice. Then L is a Boolean algebra if and only if one symmetric difference is equal to the other. An orthomodular lattice L is Boolean if and only if one of two symmetric differences of L is associative.

MONOMIAL CHARACTERS OVER FINITE GROUPS
Park, Eunmi ;
Communications of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 18, issue 2, 2003, Pages 215~223
DOI : 10.4134/CKMS.2003.18.2.215
Abstract
Parks [7] showed that there is an one to one correspondence between good pairs of subgroups in G and irreducible monomial characters of G. This provides a useful criterion for a group to be monomial. In this paper, we study relative monomial groups by defining triples in G, and find relationships between the triples and irreducible relative monomial characters.

Communications of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 18, issue 2, 2003, Pages 243~249
DOI : 10.4134/CKMS.2003.18.2.243
Abstract
We consider weighted Bergman spaces and radial derivatives on the spaces. We also prove that for each element f in B
p, r/ there is a unique f in B
p, r/ such that f is the radial derivative of f and for each f
B
r/(i), f is the radial derivative of some element of B
r/(i) if and only if, lim f(tz)= 0 for all z
H.

NECESSARY AND SUFFICIENT CONDITIONS FOR CONVERGENCE OF ISHIKAWA ITERATIVE SCHEMES WITH ERRORS TO φ-HEMICONTRACTIVE MAPPINGS
Liu, Seqing ; Kim, Jong-Kyu ; Kang, Shin-Min ;
Communications of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 18, issue 2, 2003, Pages 251~261
DOI : 10.4134/CKMS.2003.18.2.251
Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to establish the necessary and sufficient conditions which ensure the strong convergence of the Ishikawa iterative schemes with errors to the unique fixed point of a
-hemicontractive mapping defined on a nonempty convex subset of a normed linear space. The results of this paper extend substantially most of the recent results.

ESTIMATES WITH WEIGHTS FOR THE (equation omitted)-EQUATION ON REAL ELLIPSOIDS IN C
^{n}
Ahn, Heung-Ju ;
Communications of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 18, issue 2, 2003, Pages 263~280
DOI : 10.4134/CKMS.2003.18.2.263
Abstract
We prove weighted L
estimates with respect to the non-isotropic norm for the (equation omitted)-equation on real ellipsoids, where weights are powers of the distance to the boundary. The non-isotropic norm is smaller than the usual norm, by a factor which is equal to the distance to the boundary in the complex tangential component and which is equal to the m-th root of the distance to the boundary in the complex normal component. Here n is the maximal order of contact of the boundary of the real ellipsoid with complex analytic curves.

Kim, Dong-Soo ; Kim, Young-Ho ; Yoon, Dae-Won ;
Communications of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 18, issue 2, 2003, Pages 289~295
DOI : 10.4134/CKMS.2003.18.2.289
Abstract
In this paper, we study ruled surfaces in Minkowski space, which admit 1-type Gauss map. In particular, non-cylindrical ruled surfaces with finite type Gauss map are of k-type (k
2).

ON HYPERSURFACES OF MANIFOLDS EQUIPPED WITH A HYPERCOSYMPLECTIC 3-STRUCTURE
Song, Yeong-Moo ; Kim, Jeong-Sik ; Tripathi, Mukut-Mani ;
Communications of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 18, issue 2, 2003, Pages 297~308
DOI : 10.4134/CKMS.2003.18.2.297
Abstract
Hypersurfaces of a Riemannian manifold equipped with a hypercosymplectic 3-structure are studied. Integrability conditions for certain distributions on the hypersurface are investigated. Geometry of leaves of certain distribution are also studied.

FUZZY G-CLOSURE OPERATORS
Kim, Yong-Chan ; Ko, Jung-Mi ;
Communications of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 18, issue 2, 2003, Pages 325~340
DOI : 10.4134/CKMS.2003.18.2.325
Abstract
We introduce a fuzzy g-closure operator induced by a fuzzy topological space in view of the definition of Sostak [13]. We show that it is a fuzzy closure operator. Furthermore, it induces a fuzzy topology which is finer than a given fuzzy topology. We investigate some properties of fuzzy g-closure operators.

FUZZY STRONGLY r-SEMICONTINUOUS MAPS
Lee, Seok-Jong ; Lee, Eun-Pyo ;
Communications of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 18, issue 2, 2003, Pages 341~353
DOI : 10.4134/CKMS.2003.18.2.341
Abstract
As a generalizaton of the concepts of fuzzy strongly semiopen sets and fuzzy strongly semicontinuous maps, we introduce the concepts of fuzzy strongly r-semiopen sets and fuzzy strongly r-semicontinuous maps in fuzzy topology. Also we introduce fuzzy r-semicontinuous and fuzzy r-semiclosure. By these concept, we characterize fuzzy strongly r-semicontinuous, fuzzy strongly r-semiopen and fuzzy strongly r-semiclosed maps.

Im, Young-Ho ;
Communications of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 18, issue 2, 2003, Pages 367~374
DOI : 10.4134/CKMS.2003.18.2.367
Abstract
Let N be a Closed n-manifold with residually finite, torsion free
(N) and finite H
,(N). Suppose that
k/(N)=0 for 1 < k < n-1. We show that N is a codimension-n PL fibrator if and only if N does not cover itself regularly and cyclically up to homotopy type, provided
(N) satisfies a certain condition.

COMPLETE CONVERGENCE FOR ARRAYS OF ROWWISE INDEPENDENT RANDOM VARIABLES
Hu, Tien-Chung ; Sung, Soo-Hak ; Volodin, Andrei ;
Communications of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 18, issue 2, 2003, Pages 375~383
DOI : 10.4134/CKMS.2003.18.2.375
Abstract
Under some conditions on an array of rowwise independent random variables, Hu et at. (1998) obtained a complete convergence result for law of large numbers with rate {a
n/, n
1} which is bounded away from zero. We investigate the general situation for rate {a
n/, n
1) under similar conditions.
