XIE XIANG-YUN ; SHI XIAOPING ;
Communications of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 20, issue 1, 2005, Pages 1~14
DOI : 10.4134/CKMS.2005.20.1.001
Abstract
The aim of this paper is to study order-congruences on a S-poset A and to characterize the order-congruences by the concepts of pseudooreders on A and quasi-chains module a congruence p. Some homomorphism theorems of S-posets are given which is similar to the one of ordered semigroups. Finally, It is shown that there exists the non-trivial order-congruence on a S-poset by an example.

A NOTE ON NULL DESIGNS OF DUAL POLAR SPACES
CHO, SOO-JIN ;
Communications of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 20, issue 1, 2005, Pages 15~21
DOI : 10.4134/CKMS.2005.20.1.015
Abstract
Null designs on the poset of dual polar spaces are considered. A poset of dual polar spaces is the set of isotropic subspaces of a finite vector space equipped with a nondegenerate bilinear form, ordered by inclusion. We show that the minimum number of isotropic subspaces to construct a nonzero null t-design is
for the types
, whereas for the case of type
, more isotropic subspaces are needed.

Communications of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 20, issue 1, 2005, Pages 23~34
DOI : 10.4134/CKMS.2005.20.1.023
Abstract
Let R be a ring with left identity. Let G :
be a symmetric biadditive mapping and g the trace of G. Let
be an endomorphism and
an epimorphism. In this paper we show the following: (i) Let R be 2-torsion-free. If g is (
)-skew-commuting on R, then we have G = 0. (ii) If g is (
)-skew-centralizing on R, then g is (
)-commuting on R. (iii) Let
. Let R be (n+1)!-torsion-free. If g is n-(
)-skew-commuting on R, then we have G = 0. (iv) Let R be 6-torsion-free. If g is 2-(
)-commuting on R, then g is (
)-commuting on R.

CORESTRICTION MAP ON BRAUER SUBGROUPS
CHOI, EUN-MI ;
Communications of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 20, issue 1, 2005, Pages 35~49
DOI : 10.4134/CKMS.2005.20.1.035
Abstract
For an extension field K of k, a restriction homomorphism on Brauer k-group B(k) maps Brauer k-algebras to Brauer K- algebras by tensor product. A purpose of this work is to study the restriction map that sends radical (Schur) k-algebras to radical (Schur) K-algebras. And we ask an analogous question with respect to corestriction map on Brauer group B(K) that whether the corestriction map sends radical K-algebras to radical k-algebras.

LEE, SANG-GU ; YANG, JEONG-MO ;
Communications of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 20, issue 1, 2005, Pages 51~62
DOI : 10.4134/CKMS.2005.20.1.051
Abstract
We consider 2-colored digraphs of the primitive ministrong digraphs having given exponents. In this paper we give bounds for 2-exponents of primitive extremal ministrong digraphs.

LI SONGXIAO ;
Communications of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 20, issue 1, 2005, Pages 63~70
DOI : 10.4134/CKMS.2005.20.1.063
Abstract
In this paper we study bounded and compact weighted composition operator, induced by a fixed analytic function and an analytic self-map of the open unit disk, from Bergman space into weighted Bloch space. As a corollary, obtain the characterization of composition operator from Bergman space into weighted Bloch space.

LI, YOUNG-JIN ;
Communications of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 20, issue 1, 2005, Pages 71~78
DOI : 10.4134/CKMS.2005.20.1.071
Abstract
In this paper, the iterative solution is studied for equation Tx = f with a uniformly continuous
-strongly accretive operators in arbitrary real Banach spaces. Our results extend, generalize and improve the corresponding results obtained by Zeng [11].

K-THEORY OF C*-ALGEBRAS OF LOCALLY TRIVIAL CONTINUOUS FIELDS
SUDO TAKAHIRO ;
Communications of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 20, issue 1, 2005, Pages 79~92
DOI : 10.4134/CKMS.2005.20.1.079
Abstract
It is shown that the K-theory of the
-algebras of continuous fields on locally compact Hausdorff spaces with fibers elementary
-algebras is the same as the K-theory of the base spaces. We also consider the slightly generalized case. Furthermore, we give some applications of these results.

KIM, YONG-CHAN ; ABBAS S. E. ;
Communications of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 20, issue 1, 2005, Pages 117~134
DOI : 10.4134/CKMS.2005.20.1.117
Abstract
We introduce the notion of (r,s)-connected sets in intuitionistic fuzzy topological spaces and investigate some properties of them. In particular, we show that every (r,s)-component in an intuitionistic fuzzy topological space is (r,s)-component in the stratification of it.

ROBUST TEST BASED ON NONLINEAR REGRESSION QUANTILE ESTIMATORS
CHOI, SEUNG-HOE ; KIM, KYUNG-JOONG ; LEE, MYUNG-SOOK ;
Communications of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 20, issue 1, 2005, Pages 145~159
DOI : 10.4134/CKMS.2005.20.1.145
Abstract
In this paper we consider the problem of testing statistical hypotheses for unknown parameters in nonlinear regression models and propose three asymptotically equivalent tests based on regression quantiles estimators, which are Wald test, Lagrange Multiplier test and Likelihood Ratio test. We also derive the asymptotic distributions of the three test statistics both under the null hypotheses and under a sequence of local alternatives and verify that the asymptotic relative efficiency of the proposed test statistics with classical test based on least squares depends on the error distributions of the regression models. We give some examples to illustrate that the test based on the regression quantiles estimators performs better than the test based on the least squares estimators of the least absolute deviation estimators when the disturbance has asymmetric and heavy-tailed distribution.

A HYBRID METHOD FOR HIGHER-ORDER NONLINEAR DIFFUSION EQUATIONS
KIM JUNSEOK ; SUR JEANMAN ;
Communications of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 20, issue 1, 2005, Pages 179~193
DOI : 10.4134/CKMS.2005.20.1.179
Abstract
We present results of fully nonlinear time-dependent simulations of a thin liquid film flowing up an inclined plane. Equations of the type
arise in the context of thin liquid films driven by a thermal gradient with a counteracting gravitational force, where h = h(x, t) is the fluid film height. A hybrid scheme is constructed for the solution of two-dimensional higher-order nonlinear diffusion equations. Problems in the fluid dynamics of thin films are solved to demonstrate the accuracy and effectiveness of the hybrid scheme.
