PRECOVERS AND PREENVELOPES BY MODULES OF FINITE FGT-INJECTIVE AND FGT-FLAT DIMENSIONS
Xiang, Yueming ;
Communications of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 25, issue 4, 2010, Pages 497~510
DOI : 10.4134/CKMS.2010.25.4.497
Abstract
Let R be a ring and n a fixed non-negative integer.
(resp.
) denotes the class of all right R-modules of FGT-injective dimensions at most n (resp. all left R-modules of FGT-flat dimensions at most n). We prove that, if R is a right
-coherent ring, then every right R-module has a
-cover and every left R-module has a
-preenvelope. A right R-module M is called n-TI-injective in case
(N,M) = 0 for any
. A left R-module F is said to be n-TI-flat if
(N, F) = 0 for any
. Some properties of n-TI-injective and n-TI-flat modules and their relations with
-(pre)covers and
-preenvelopes are also studied.

Communications of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 25, issue 4, 2010, Pages 523~535
DOI : 10.4134/CKMS.2010.25.4.523
Abstract
There are different categorifications of the notion of a ring such as Ann-category due to N. T. Quang, ring category due to M. M. Kapranov and V. A. Voevodsky. The main result of this paper is to prove that every axiom in the definition of a ring category, but the axiom
, can be deduced from the axiomatics of an Ann-category.

Jun, Young-Bae ; Kang, Min-Su ; Kim, Hee-Sik ;
Communications of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 25, issue 4, 2010, Pages 537~545
DOI : 10.4134/CKMS.2010.25.4.537
Abstract
The notions of (weak) hyper MV-deductive systems and (weak) implicative hyper MV-deductive systems are introduced, and several properties are investigated. Relations among hyper MV-deductive systems, weak hyper MV-deductive systems, implicative hyper MV-deductive systems and weak implicative hyper MV-deductive systems are discussed. A characterization of a hyper MV-deductive system is provided. A condition for a weak hyper MV-deductive system to be a weak implicative hyper MV-deductive system is given.

Zhang, Yun ; Chen, Dong-Jun ;
Communications of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 25, issue 4, 2010, Pages 547~556
DOI : 10.4134/CKMS.2010.25.4.547
Abstract
In this paper, we present the reprentation of all operators B which are Drazin invertible and sharing the spectral projections at 0 with a given Drazin invertible operator A. Meanwhile, some related results for EP operators with closed range are obtained.

IMPLICIT ITERATION PROCESS FOR COMMON FIXED POINTS OF AN INFINITE FAMILY OF STRICTLY PSEUDOCONTRACTIVE MAPPINGS IN BANACH SPACES
Chang, Shih-Sen ; Cho, Yeol-Je ; Kim, Jong-Kyu ;
Communications of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 25, issue 4, 2010, Pages 571~581
DOI : 10.4134/CKMS.2010.25.4.571
Abstract
Some convergence theorems for approximating to a common fixed point of an infinite family of strictly pseudocontractive mappings of Browder-Petryshyn type are proved in the setting of Banach spaces by using a new composite implicit iterative process with errors. The results presented in the paper generalize and improve the main results of Bai and Kim [1], Gu [4], Osilike [5], Su and Li [7], and Xu and Ori [8].

CONVERGENCE THEOREMS FOR TWO FAMILIES OF WEAK RELATIVELY NONEXPANSIVE MAPPINGS AND A FAMILY OF EQUILIBRIUM PROBLEMS
Zhang, Xin ; Su, Yongfu ;
Communications of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 25, issue 4, 2010, Pages 583~607
DOI : 10.4134/CKMS.2010.25.4.583
Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to prove strong convergence theorems for common fixed points of two families of weak relatively nonexpansive mappings and a family of equilibrium problems by a new monotone hybrid method in Banach spaces. Because the hybrid method presented in this paper is monotone, so that the method of the proof is different from the original one. We shall give an example which is weak relatively nonexpansive mapping but not relatively nonexpansive mapping in Banach space
. Our results improve and extend the corresponding results announced in [W. Takahashi and K. Zembayashi, Strong convergence theorem by a new hybrid method for equilibrium problems and relatively nonexpansive mappings, Fixed Point Theory Appl. (2008), Article ID 528476, 11 pages; doi:10.1155/2008/528476] and [Y. Su, Z. Wang, and H. Xu, Strong convergence theorems for a common fixed point of two hemi-relatively nonexpansive mappings, Nonlinear Anal. 71 (2009), no. 11, 5616?5628] and some other papers.

Communications of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 25, issue 4, 2010, Pages 609~614
DOI : 10.4134/CKMS.2010.25.4.609
Abstract
We prove that if graphs of bounded degree are roughly isometric to each other, then the spaces of bounded energy finite solutions of the Schr
dinger operator on the graphs are isomorphic to each other. This is a direct generalization of the results of Soardi [5] and of Lee [3].

Communications of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 25, issue 4, 2010, Pages 615~621
DOI : 10.4134/CKMS.2010.25.4.615
Abstract
We study pseudo symmetric (briefly
) and pseudo Ricci symmetric (briefly
) warped product manifolds
. If M is
, then we give a condition on the warping function that M is a pseudosymmetric space and N is a space of constant curvature. If M is
, then we show that (i) N is Ricci symmetric and (ii) M is
if and only if the tensor T defined by (2.6) satisfies a certain condition.

Communications of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 25, issue 4, 2010, Pages 623~628
DOI : 10.4134/CKMS.2010.25.4.623
Abstract
Nakaoka and Oda ([1] and [2]) introduced the notion of maximal open sets and minimal closed sets in topological spaces. In this paper, we introduce new classes of sets called maximal
-open sets, minimal
-closed sets,
-semi maximal open and
-semi minimal closed and investigate some of their fundamental properties.

Communications of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 25, issue 4, 2010, Pages 629~645
DOI : 10.4134/CKMS.2010.25.4.629
Abstract
A metrical common fixed point theorem proved for a pair of self mappings due to Sastry and Murthy ([16]) is extended to symmetric spaces which in turn unifies certain fixed point theorems due to Pant ([13]) and Cho et al. ([4]) besides deriving some related results. Some illustrative examples to highlight the realized improvements are also furnished.

RETRIAL QUEUEING SYSTEM WITH COLLISION AND IMPATIENCE
Kim, Jeong-Sim ;
Communications of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 25, issue 4, 2010, Pages 647~653
DOI : 10.4134/CKMS.2010.25.4.647
Abstract
We consider an M/M/1 retrial queue with collision and impatience. It is shown that the generating functions of the joint distributions of the server state and the number of customers in the orbit at steady state can be expressed in terms of the confluent hypergeometric functions. We find the performance characteristics of the system such as the blocking probability and the mean number of customers in the orbit.

Communications of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 25, issue 4, 2010, Pages 655~669
DOI : 10.4134/CKMS.2010.25.4.655
Abstract
In this paper we propose new primal-dual interior point methods (IPMs) for
linear complementarity problems (LCPs) and analyze the iteration complexity of the algorithm. New search directions and proximity measures are defined based on a class of kernel functions,
,
. If a strictly feasible starting point is available and the parameter
, where
, then new large-update primal-dual interior point algorithms have
iteration complexity which is the best known result for this method. For small-update methods, we have
iteration complexity.
