ABUNDANT SEMIGROUPS WITH QUASI-IDEAL S-ADEQUATE TRANSVERSALS
Kong, Xiangjun ; Wang, Pei ;
Communications of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 26, issue 1, 2011, Pages 1~12
DOI : 10.4134/CKMS.2011.26.1.001
Abstract
In this paper, the connection of the inverse transversal with the adequate transversal is explored. It is proved that if S is an abundant semigroup with an adequate transversal
, then S is regular if and only if
is an inverse semigroup. It is also shown that adequate transversals of a regular semigroup are just its inverse transversals. By means of a quasi-adequate semigroup and a right normal band, we construct an abundant semigroup containing a quasi-ideal S-adequate transversal and conversely, every such a semigroup can be constructed in this manner. It is simpler than the construction of Guo and Shum [9] through an SQ-system and the construction of El-Qallali [5] by W(E, S).

COMPOSITE IMPLICIT RANDOM ITERATIONS FOR APPROXIMATING COMMON RANDOM FIXED POINT FOR A FINITE FAMILY OF ASYMPTOTICALLY NONEXPANSIVE RANDOM OPERATORS
Banerjee, Shrabani ; Choudhury, Binayak S. ;
Communications of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 26, issue 1, 2011, Pages 23~35
DOI : 10.4134/CKMS.2011.26.1.023
Abstract
In the present work we construct a composite implicit random iterative process with errors for a finite family of asymptotically nonexpansive random operators and discuss a necessary and sufficient condition for the convergence of this process in an arbitrary real Banach space. It is also proved that this process converges to the common random fixed point of the finite family of asymptotically nonexpansive random operators in the setting of uniformly convex Banach spaces. The present work also generalizes a recently established result in Banach spaces.

ITERATIVE METHODS FOR GENERALIZED EQUILIBRIUM PROBLEMS AND NONEXPANSIVE MAPPINGS
Cho, Sun-Young ; Kang, Shin-Min ; Qin, Xiaolong ;
Communications of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 26, issue 1, 2011, Pages 51~65
DOI : 10.4134/CKMS.2011.26.1.051
Abstract
In this paper, a composite iterative process is introduced for a generalized equilibrium problem and a pair of nonexpansive mappings. It is proved that the sequence generated in the purposed composite iterative process converges strongly to a common element of the solution set of a generalized equilibrium problem and of the common xed point of a pair of nonexpansive mappings.

GIBBS PHENOMENON AND CERTAIN NONHARMONIC FOURIER SERIES
Rhee, Jung-Soo ;
Communications of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 26, issue 1, 2011, Pages 89~98
DOI : 10.4134/CKMS.2011.26.1.089
Abstract
The Fourier series has a rapid oscillation near end points at jump discontinuity which is called the Gibbs phenomenon. There is an overshoot (or undershoot) of approximately 9% at jump discontinuity. In this paper, we prove that a bunch of series representations (certain nonharmonic Fourier series) give good approximations vanishing Gibbs phenomenon. Also we have an application for approximating some shape of upper part of a vehicle in a different way from the method of cubic splines and wavelets.

Communications of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 26, issue 1, 2011, Pages 99~113
DOI : 10.4134/CKMS.2011.26.1.099
Abstract
In this paper, we investigate the stability using shadowing property in Abelian metric group and the generalized Hyers-Ulam-Rassias stability in Banach spaces of a quadratic functional equation, $f(x_1+x_2+x_3+x_4)+f(-x_1+x_2-x_3+x_4)+f(-x_1+x_2+x_3)+f(-x_2+x_3+x_4)+f(-x_3+x_4+x_1)+f(-x_4+x_1+x_2)

EXISTENCE THEOREMS FOR FIXED FUZZY POINTS WITH CLOSED α-CUT SETS IN COMPLETE METRIC SPACES
Cho, Yeol-Je ; Petrot, Narin ;
Communications of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 26, issue 1, 2011, Pages 115~124
DOI : 10.4134/CKMS.2011.26.1.115
Abstract
In this paper, some fuzzy fixed point theorems for fuzzy mappings are established by considering the nonempty closed
-cut sets. Some importance observations are also discussed. Our results clearly extend, generalize and improve the corresponding results in the literatures, which have given most of their attention to the class of fuzzy sets with nonempty compact or closed and bounded
-cut sets.

-CLUSTER SETS

Communications of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 26, issue 1, 2011, Pages 135~149
DOI : 10.4134/CKMS.2011.26.1.135
Abstract
Using (r, s)-preopen sets [14] and pre-
-closures [6], a new kind of covering property
-closedness is introduced in a bitopological space and several characterizations via filter bases, nets and grills [30] along with various properties of such concept are investigated. Two new types of cluster sets, namely pre-(
, s)t-
-cluster sets and (r, s)t-
-precluster sets of functions and multifunctions between two bitopological spaces are introduced. Several properties of pre-(
, s)t-
-cluster sets are investigated and using the degeneracy of such cluster sets, some new characterizations of some separation axioms in topological spaces or in bitopological spaces are obtained. A sufficient condition for
-closedness has also been established in terms of pre-(
, s)t-
-cluster sets.
