Abstract
Let G be a group and let
be a prime number. If the set
of all commuting automorphisms of G forms a subgroup of Aut(G), then G is called
-group. In this paper we show that any
-group with cyclic maximal subgroup is an
-group. We also find the structure of the group
and we show that

Communications of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 28, issue 4, 2013, Pages 669~677
DOI : 10.4134/CKMS.2013.28.4.669
Abstract
In this paper we introduce the notion of NI near-rings similar to the notion introduced in rings. We give topological properties of collection of strongly prime ideals in NI near-rings. We have shown that if N is a NI and weakly pm near-ring, then
is a compact Hausdorff space. We have also shown that if N is a NI near-ring, then for every

ON PERMUTING n-DERIVATIONS IN NEAR-RINGS
Ashraf, Mohammad ; Siddeeque, Mohammad Aslam ;
Communications of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 28, issue 4, 2013, Pages 697~707
DOI : 10.4134/CKMS.2013.28.4.697
Abstract
In this paper, we introduce the notion of permuting
-derivations in near-ring N and investigate commutativity of addition and multiplication of N. Further, under certain constrants on a
-torsion free prime near-ring N, it is shown that a permuting
-additive mapping D on N is zero if the trace
of D is zero. Finally, some more related results are also obtained.

Ahn, Sun Shin ; Ko, Jung Mi ;
Communications of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 28, issue 4, 2013, Pages 709~721
DOI : 10.4134/CKMS.2013.28.4.709
Abstract
The notions of coupled N-subalgebra, coupled (positive implicative) N-ideals of
-algebras are introduced, and related properties are investigated. Characterizations of a coupled
-subalgebra and a coupled (positive implicative)
-ideals of
-algebras are given. Relations among a coupled
-subalgebra, a coupled
-ideal and a coupled positive implicative
-ideal of
-algebras are discussed.

Woo, Sung Sik ;
Communications of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 28, issue 4, 2013, Pages 723~733
DOI : 10.4134/CKMS.2013.28.4.723
Abstract
A Bachet equation
will have a rational solution if and only if there is
for which
is reducible. In this paper we show that such cubics arise as a cubic resolvent of a biquadratic polynomial. And we prove various properties of cubic resolvents.

REAL QUADRATIC FUNCTION FIELDS OF MINIMAL TYPE
Byeon, Dongho ; Keem, Jiae ; Lee, Sangyoon ;
Communications of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 28, issue 4, 2013, Pages 735~740
DOI : 10.4134/CKMS.2013.28.4.735
Abstract
In this paper, we will introduce the notion of the real quadratic function fields of minimal type, which is a function field analogue to Kawamoto and Tomita's notion of real quadratic fields of minimal type. As number field cases, we will show that there are exactly 6 real quadratic function fields of class number one that are not of minimal type.

ON QUASI-A(n, κ) CLASS OPERATORS
Lee, Mi Ryeong ; Yun, Hye Yeong ;
Communications of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 28, issue 4, 2013, Pages 741~750
DOI : 10.4134/CKMS.2013.28.4.741
Abstract
To study the operator inequalities, the notions of class A operators and quasi-class A operators are developed up to recently. In this paper, quasi-
class operator for
and
is introduced as a new notion, which generalizes the quasi-class A operator. We obtain some structural properties of these operators. Also we characterize quasi-
classes for n and
via backward extension of weighted shift operators. Finally, we give a simple example of quasi-
operators with two variables.

Communications of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 28, issue 4, 2013, Pages 751~766
DOI : 10.4134/CKMS.2013.28.4.751
Abstract
We study the existence and long-time behavior of solutions to the following semilinear degenerate parabolic equation on

HYERS-ULAM STABILITY OF MAPPINGS FROM A RING A INTO AN A-BIMODULE
Oubbi, Lahbib ;
Communications of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 28, issue 4, 2013, Pages 767~782
DOI : 10.4134/CKMS.2013.28.4.767
Abstract
We deal with the Hyers-Ulam stability problem of linear mappings from a vector space into a Banach one with respect to the following functional equation:
. We then combine this equation with other ones and establish the Hyers-Ulam stability of several kinds of linear mappings, among which the algebra (*-) homomorphisms, the derivations, the multipliers and others. We thus repair and improve some previous assertions in the literature.

SOME BILATERAL GENERATING FUNCTIONS INVOLVING THE CHAN-CHYAN-SRIVASTAVA POLYNOMIALS AND SOME GENERAL CLASSES OF MULTIVARIABLE POLYNOMIALS
Gaboury, Sebastien ; Ozarslan, Mehmet Ali ; Tremblay, Richard ;
Communications of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 28, issue 4, 2013, Pages 783~797
DOI : 10.4134/CKMS.2013.28.4.783
Abstract
Recently, Liu et al. [Bilateral generating functions for the Chan-Chyan-Srivastava polynomials and the generalized Lauricella function, Integral Transform Spec. Funct. 23 (2012), no. 7, 539-549] investigated, in several interesting papers, some various families of bilateral generating functions involving the Chan-Chyan-Srivastava polynomials. The aim of this present paper is to obtain some bilateral generating functions involving the Chan-Chyan-Sriavastava polynomials and three general classes of multivariable polynomials introduced earlier by Srivastava in [A contour integral involving Fox's H-function, Indian J. Math. 14 (1972), 1-6], [A multilinear generating function for the Konhauser sets of biorthogonal polynomials suggested by the Laguerre polynomials, Pacific J. Math. 117 (1985), 183-191] and by Kaano
lu and
zarslan in [Two-sided generating functions for certain class of r-variable polynomials, Mathematical and Computer Modelling 54 (2011), 625-631]. Special cases involving the (Srivastava-Daoust) generalized Lauricella functions are also given.

AN ELEMENTARY PROOF OF SFORZA-SANTALÓ RELATION FOR SPHERICAL AND HYPERBOLIC POLYHEDRA
Cho, Yunhi ;
Communications of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 28, issue 4, 2013, Pages 799~807
DOI : 10.4134/CKMS.2013.28.4.799
Abstract
We defined and studied a naturally extended hyperbolic space (see [1] and [2]). In this study, we describe Sforza's formula [7] and Santal
's formula [6], which were rediscovered and later discussed by many mathematicians (Milnor [4], Su
rez-Peir
[8], J. Murakami and Ushijima [5], and Mednykh [3]) in the spherical space in an elementary way. Thereafter, using the extended hyperbolic space, we apply the same method to prove their results in the hyperbolic space.

Jin, Dae Ho ;
Communications of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 28, issue 4, 2013, Pages 809~818
DOI : 10.4134/CKMS.2013.28.4.809
Abstract
We study irrotational half lightlike submanifolds M of a semi-Riemannian space form with a semi-symmetric non-metric connection such that its structure vector field is tangent to M. We prove two characterization theorems for such an irrotational half lightlike submanifold.

GENERALIZED PRODUCT TOPOLOGY
Wu, Xinxing ; Zhu, Peiyong ;
Communications of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 28, issue 4, 2013, Pages 819~825
DOI : 10.4134/CKMS.2013.28.4.819
Abstract
Similarly to Tychonoff product, we introduce the concept of generalized product topology which is different from the notion of product of generalized topologies in [
.
, Acta Math. Hungar. 123 (2009), 127-132] for generalized topology and obtain some properties about it. Besides, we prove that connectedness,
-connectedness and
-connectedness are all preserved under this product.

Communications of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 28, issue 4, 2013, Pages 827~832
DOI : 10.4134/CKMS.2013.28.4.827
Abstract
In this paper we apply the Catalan transform to the
-Fibonacci sequence finding different integer sequences, some of which are indexed in OEIS and others not. After we apply the Hankel transform to the Catalan transform of the
-Fibonacci sequence and obtain an unusual property.

Communications of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 28, issue 4, 2013, Pages 833~850
DOI : 10.4134/CKMS.2013.28.4.833
Abstract
We present an algorithm for computing the Hausdorff distance between two parametric curves in
, or more generally between two sets of parametric curves in
. During repeated subdivision of the parameter space, we prune subintervals that cannot contain an optimal point. Typically, our algorithm costs O(logM) operations, compared with O(M) operations for a direct, brute-force method, to achieve an accuracy of
