A Study on LRS(Learning Reward System) using Educational Digital Contents

A variety of educational digital contents are provided for both distance and on-line learning on the Internet recently. Especially, as edutainment fields are activated, fun-centered educational contents are improved so much. But it is still lack of high quality, which could lead a learner to study by himself without losing enjoyment for an appropriate duration (about
years). A system, which enforces learning motivation for a learners positive learning, is demanded. This paper shows the planning and the implementation of learning Reward System (LRS) which is providing rewards a learner for achievement of the teaming object which is suggested by him (her) and his (her) mentors. LRS is aiming at enhancement of educational effects by providing both amusements and rewards employing edutainment contents.
Design and Implementation of Remote Monitoring and Controlling System using SNMP

In this paper, it is designed and implemented the management system to monitor and control PCs running on MS Windows or NT and define some MIBs using SNMP. The proposed system has controlling functions to control the status of PC and monitoring functions to have real-time monitoring and control processes. The controlling system supports update and setting of the configuration information of managed systems and backup/restore the information when it happens to be some faults. The monitoring system has some functions such as monitoring the processes of the PC, controlling the process on PC, and invoking a new job. This paper proposes a way of enhancing the performance of monitoring capabilities by screen partitioning and analysis techniques.
Design of Access Control Model for Secure EDI Service

EDI is basically the concept of computer-to-computer exchange of messages relating to various types of activities or business areas, such as banking, trade, medicine, publishing, etc. Therefore, security, reliability and special functionality will be implicit requirements of EDI systems. We will design access control model to content security of these requirements. Access controls in information systems are responsible for ensuring that all direct access to the entities occur exclusively according to the access modes and rules fixed by security policies. On this paper, security policies for access control model are presented from the viewpoints of identity-based, rule-based, role-based policy. We give a design of access control model for secure EDI service based on the derived access control rules and operations to enforce the defined security policies. The proposed access control model provides integrity, confidentiality and a flow control of EDI messages.
Performance Improvement of an Asynchronous DS/CDMA System in Multipath Rayleigh Fading and Impulsive Noise Environments

In this paper, we derive the BER performance of an asynchronous DS/CDMA system and analyze the improvement of BER performance through turbo coding and RAKE receiver in multipath Rayleigh fading and impulsive noise environments. Block-based Color Image Segmentation Using Y/C Bit-Plane Sum]nation Image

This paper is related to color image segmentation scheme which makes it possible to achieve the excellent segmented results by block-based segmentation using Y/C bit-plane summation image. First, normalized chrominance summation image is obtained by normalizing the image which is summed up the absolutes of color-differential values between R, G, B images. Secondly, upper 2 bits of the luminance image and upper 6bits of and the normalized chrominance summation image are bitwise operated by the pixel to generate the Y/C bit-plane summation image. Next, the Y/C bit-plane summation image divided into predetermined block size, is classified into monotone blocks, texture blocks and edge blocks, and then each classified block is merged to the regions including one more blocks in the individual block type, and each region is selectively allocated to unique marker according to predetermined marker allocation rules. Finally, fine segmented results are obtained by applying the watershed algorithm to each pixel in the unmarked blocks. As shown in computer simulation, the main advantage of the proposed method is that it suppresses the over-segmentation in the texture regions and reduces computational load. Furthermore, it is able to apply global parameters to various images with different pixel distribution properties because they are nonsensitive for pixel distribution. Especially, the proposed method offers reasonable segmentation results in edge areas with lower contrast owing to the regional characteristics of the color components reflected in the Y/C bit-plane summation image.
Implementation of Multimedia Integrated Learning Systems for ICT Use in Schools

The 7th National Curriculum Guidelines strongly suggest the use of ICT for schools, and one of the best way to integrate ICT could be the implementation of Integrated Learning Systems (ILS). ILS is known to be a comprehensive system for learning that offer variety of multimedia contents and activities, textbooks, and networked systems. It is a comprehensive package for instruction and loaming tailored to fit specific curriculum. Thus, ILS is well-integrated and well-suited to individual learners' interest or capabilities. The school teachers who would have to use ICT in their courses required by the 7th National Curriculum Guidelines, ILS could be an innovative tool to be effective not only in teaching but also in using ICT. However, effective use and development of ILS, in Korea, should be supported by the educational decision makers and policies to fit Korean school curriculum. Thus, in this paper, we have studies to look at examplary ILS and a couple of cases to consider ILS for possible adoption in Korea.
Design and Implementation of MUG(Multi-User Graphic) Game for Elementary Students

Leading educational paradigm based on Constructivism drives for many changes in the field of education. It causes the shift from instructor-based to learner-based learning, and cooperative teaming amongst the learners. Multi User Game (MUG) which is a network-based cooperative game is popular among many college students. MUG is known to provide positive and creative activities encouraging learners to participate, reform and produce new knowledge and skills. Thus, it has potential as an effective learning tool. In this study, however, we have designed a prototype of Cooperative MUG Game for elementary students to learn within networked environment to play while learning new knowledge and skills. The elementary students will interact with the other students through chatting while playing MUG.

That's why it's targets are just primary, middle school and high school students. Developing Digital Contents Using Multimedia Technology

The emergence of the new technologies, which are represented by multimedia and the internet, brings the tremendous change in respect of process, record, delivery, and transmission of the knowledge and information. The new digital contents made by these technologies help to improve the acquisition efficiency of the knowledge and information by directly and simultaneously stimulating humans' different senses. This paper concentrates on how the accumulated computer technologies such as multimedia and the Internet can be used to make the effective digital contents. This paper suggests four development method for the digital contents and gives the implemented example for each development method.
Design and Implementation of Web Based Multimedia Courseware for Visual Basie Learning

The coursewares available on the web are on active development by each country all over the world in accordance with web prevailing. Many Visual Basic language courseware is also into web-based education it is not improving the effect of learning. Hence through this study, in orer to be out of the said kind of approach, 1)by adding multimedia elements with making the best of web characteristics, 2)escalating the studying effect of learners' with experimental environment, and 3)providing proper feedbacks in assessment of learners' reactions 4)we invented web-based multimedia courseware with the technology of Real Encoder, Real Player, Active X etc. and tried adapting it to school education field on the basis of design model of professor-learning system.
