Schemes for Managing Semantic Web Data in Ubiquitous Environment

One important issue to generalize the ubiquitous paradigm is the development of user-centralized and intelligent ubiquitous computing systems. Sharing knowledge and correct communication between users and devices are needed to be aware of continuous changed context information and infer services for which users are suited. The goal of this paper is to describe and manage effectively the meaning of services or data which each device offers for interaction between users and devices based on semantic relationships and reasoning. In this paper, we represent semantic data using OWL and design a ubiquitous based intelligent system. We propose some index structures and strategies to process queries classified by each subsystem and adopt labeling schemes to identify classes and resources in the semantic data. We can find devices which satisfies various user's requests exactly and quickly using the proposed strategies.
A Study on User Evaluation Regarding Universal Design

This study is about evaluation by users and evaluation cases centering packaging and containers for Universal Design products which are currently being used. This study also shows standards of evaluation for Universal Design items which are required for Universal Design and packaging. I also conducted a case study in Japan as a preceding case to suggest a viable guideline in time of displaying design. As a result, I could grasp parts to be improved and problems regarding standards of guideline for evaluation and evaluation methods which are necessary for developing goods by user evaluation. In addition, as shown by advanced cases, I suggested the necessity that the Universal Design should be fairly reflected in all design parts because of an increase in cases of packaging and containers corresponding to product identification items in the design evaluation division.
V-Killer: An English Vocabulary Game using Searching and Ranking based on Mobile

Recently, an interest in mobile games is increasing according to the extension of the high speed network infra and the development of mobile devices. Specially, the mobile game for learning can help to reinforce an academic performance and an interest for a brief time anytime anywhere. Thus, we propose new mobile contents named V-Killer which combines learning with a game. V-Killer is a word puzzle game which has functions of ranking and searching. The game can get feedback on your learning or progress and choose the degree of difficulty according to the ability of the user. The game lead to an interaction of user and games as sets questions by user, in addition, it is easy to operate and has a simple construction. In the paper, we implement the proposed game on the mobile and present the game.

Recently, an interest in mobile games is increasing according to the extension of the high speed network infra and the development of mobile devices. In the paper, we propose a mobile Stouku game which trains a brain. The proposed game is user-oriented play style that the game users can raise their characters theirselves. It gives users a sense of achievement and can also help improve intelligence by becoming familiar with a numeral. The game raises an awareness and immersion by adding various events and lowering the degree of difficulty more than previews games. In the paper, we demonstrate the proposed Sudoku game in the mobile device and present the result.
On the Effect of the Quality of University Education of Semiconductor on Graduate's Job Performance

The purpose of this study is to examine the causal relationship among quality factors of university education(faculty, students' attitude toward studies, education program, education environment), graduates' job performance in semiconductor. In order to study university graduates' job performance in field of semiconductor, a survey among graduates within recently 5 years was carried out. The sample was 287 students, graduated Bachelor degree in semiconductor. Analyzing hypothesized structural equation model, we could assure that there exist positive relationship among quality factors of university education, their efforts for knowledge supplementation, and their job performance except for faculty factor. And it was found that the factor of their efforts for knowledge supplementation was more positively related to their job performance. Among the quality factors of university education, the factor of students' attitude toward studies was more effected than the other factors to their job performance.
Object-oriented Concept Learning using Reverse-engineering Method Based on XNA Game Development Environment

This paper proposes object-oriented learning method of using reverse-engineering based on game development environment. The game has advantages such as interest and enjoyment. Also, the reverse analysis of game help us understand the technique to be used in game. Through this process, we introduce learning method enabling us to actively understand object-oriented concept. Thus, the proposed method describes case learning based on XNA game development environment, and presents a scenario according to role of teacher and learner.
A Mobile Middleware System for Real-Time Data

Due to the development of the Internet, there are a lot of information around, and the amount of this information is growing exponentially. The information management systems, which are built to manage the numerous amount of information, helps the user retrieve information more accurately and efficiently. However, mobile systems and its built-in file systems, lack in information management and has a limited processing power for real-time data. This paper suggests the middleware system for effective management of large data and enabling real-time data processing. To show the possibility of middleware, the paper implemented a real-time alarm scheduler, which links web database systems and mobile phones.
The proposal of download based IPTV system using user-specific channel management

While the broadband network and multimedia technology are being developed, the commercial market on digital contents as well as IPTV has been widely spreading. Especially IPTV is providing various useful services since it makes using multimedia contents easier and more convenient by combining the strong points of both TV and PC system. Until now, IPTV system has been focused on VoD service as a general usages. However, various IPTV services are recently demanded since they can have special features for some specific places and occasions. So in this paper, we propose a design of the download based IPTV system using user-specific channel management. At first, program contents previously scheduled by users are downloaded and are played at settop-box according to the prescribed time table. This system has some advantages of giving users easy access to any wanted media contents in anytime that is IPTV's characteristics. And we can increase stability of services by using time slot distributed download for contents. Because this service can be constructed and maintained at relatively low cost, we confirm that this service model is more suitable to some companies with small infrastructure and special purposes. Accordingly, in this paper, we look into necessary elements and define some protocols for system in order to help other developer build this system.

In this paper, we propose integrated guidelines of effective e-Learning management system based on LMS(Learning Management System), LCMS(Learning Contents Management System), Authoring Tools by linking e-Learning system to management. The purpose of the study is to describe the present condition and major characteristics of domestic e-Learning System and to recommend quality assurance related to main functions and practical use of the corporate e-learning in multiple ways and implementation strategies to fit facilitator, tutor, learner.
A Development of Mobile IPTV Service Platform for User and Service Session Mobility Guarantee

Digital Broadcast Service is being very popular and the delivery mechanism for digital broadcast content through IP network has progressed constantly, due to the advance of video and audio compression and network technologies. From these trends, in Korea, the commercial IPTV service starts in this year after the law related to IPTV is enacted last year. Since IPTV service, which integrates broadcast and communication services, can give an infrastructure for fusion of communication and interactive multimedia data service, IPTV service is attractive. Recently, by the advent of various wireless connection technologies and the mobile devices of high capability, Mobile IPTV, which has an advantage of not only IPTV but also mobile TV, has gained much interest. In this paper, we review a necessary ingredient for Mobile IPTV in the next generation wired/wireless convergence network environment which consists of heterogeneous wireless access networks. In addition, we propose the scheme for user mobility and service session mobility management using RTSP protocol and introduce the service gateway concept to guarantee the extension of IPTV service platform.
Design & Implementation of Video Information Management System based on Remote Education

For effective remote education using multimedia, it is necessary to develop efficient management techniques of video information. This requires real-time processing of video information which should be managed and retrieved in a compressed forms. The main technology of compressing video is currently MPEG-2. This implies that it is very important to manage and retrieve video compressed in MPEG-2, and then to process the video in real-time for the remote education environment using multimedia. This paper is to develop the management system of video information which is one of the most critical requirements in remote education systems for managing and retrieving MPEG-2 video.
Developing e-Learning Contents Based on SCORM 2004

Recently, a number of research efforts have been taken to enhance interoperability and reusability of e-learning contents by developing ADL SCORM 2004 compliant contents. For useful and effective learning contents, content devlopers have to build the strategy of content sequencing in the phase of instructional design. However, many developers have difficulties in understanding the complicated specification of SCORM 2004 S&N(Sequencing&Navigation) and implementing SCORM sequencing. In this paper, we develop SCORM 2004 based best-practice sample contents utilizing SCORM sequencing and thus present a reference guide to the design and implementation of SCORM 2004 contents. It is expected that our sample contents illustrate an effective and useful application of SCORM 2004 as a de-facto e-learning standard, domestically and also internationally.
Combined Finite-buffered Ferry and Mobile Nodes Message-carrying for DTNs

In traditional message ferrying schemes, only message ferries carry messages between partitioned networks. In this paper, we propose a new approach to make both finite-buffered c ferries and mobile nodes carry messages so that we reduce message delivery delay and increase throughput in delay tolerant networks. We evaluate our scheme against conventional message ferrying in terms of message delivery delay and throughput.
Speech Recognition System in Car Noise Environment

The automotive ECU(Electronic Control Unit) becomes more complicated and is demanding many functions. For example, many automobile companies are developing driver convenience systems such as power window switch, LCM(Light Control Module), mirror control system, seat memory. In addition, many researches and developments for DIS(Driver Information System) are in progress. It is dangerous to operate such systems in driving. In this paper, we implement the speech recognition system which controls the car convenience system using speech, and apply the preprocessing filter to improve the speech recognition rate in car noise environment. As a result, we get the good speech recognition rate in car noise environment.
RDB-based XML Access Control Model with XML Tree Levels

As the secure distribution and sharing of information over the World Wide Web becomes increasingly important, the needs for flexible and efficient support of access control systems naturally arise. Since the eXtensible Markup Language (XML) is emerging as the de-facto standard format of the Internet era for storing and exchanging information, there have been recently, many proposals to extend the XML model to incorporate security aspects. To the lesser or greater extent, however, such proposals neglect the fact that the data for XML documents will most likely reside in relational databases, and consequently do not utilize various security models proposed for and implemented in relational databases. In this paper, we take a rather different approach. We explore how to support security models for XML documents by leveraging on techniques developed for relational databases considering object perspective. More specifically, in our approach, (1) Users make XML queries against the given XML view/schema, (2) Access controls for XML data are specified in the relational database, (3) Data are stored in relational databases, (4) Security check and query evaluation are also done in relational databases, and (5) Controlling access control is executed considering XML tree levels
Service Identification of Configuration and Data Management System for Weapon System R&D Processes Based on Service Oriented Architecture

Configuration and data management system to support processes for the weapon system should support the concurrent engineering and collaborative activities for various documents, drawings, part informations and structural informations, etc. which are produced through R&D processes for a long time. This thesis attempts to identify major functions in the configuration and data management system to support processes for the weapon system R&D into services based on a service oriented architecture. In order to identify major services in the configuration and data management system to support processes for the weapon system R&D, a configuration and data management system to support processes for the weapon system R&D was proposed with a service oriented architecture with four layers including a service consumer layer, a business service layer, an application service layer and a application layer, and major services were identified for each layer. In order to identify major services in four layers, this thesis adopted a bottom-up approach to identify the necessary business services from a well-defined domain implementation system rather than a top-down identification method in general. This thesis tried to identify the essential services in implementing the configuration and data management system to support processes for the weapon system R&D as a system based on the service oriented architecture using such a bottom-up service identification method while limiting those services to the general PDM system aspects and the business areas of the configuration and data management system to support processes for the weapon system R&D.
ShK: A Mobile Contents for Studying English Stories of Children

Recently, the mobile retention and use rates for the children are increasing. And early-childhood english education is all the rage. Thus, we propose a mobile contents for studying english stories of children. The proposed content provides children with studying english via a mobile phone in anywhere, anytime. We call the proposed contents "ShK". ShK is an abbreviation for "Say, hi Kids!". ShK induces a motive and interest about studying through a storytelling and avatars. And parents of students can manage studying contents of children through a private web site. Thus, "Say, hi Kids!" will became the epochal ubiquitous english educational contents for children.
A Method on the Realization of QoS Guarantee in the Grid Network

Grid computing is an application to obtain the most efficient performance from computing resources in terms of cost and convenience. It is also considered as a good method to solve a problem that cannot be settled by conventional computing technologies such as clustering or is requiring supercomputing capability due to its complex and long-running task. In order to run grid computing effectively, it needs to connect high-performance computing resources in real-time which are distributed geographically. Answering to the needs of this grid application, researchers in several universities with Argonne National Laboratory in the USA (ANL) as the main axis have developed Globus. It is noticed, however, that the quality of service (QoS) is not guaranteed when certain jobs are exchanged through networks in the context of Globus. To tackle with this problem, the ANL has invented Globus Architecture for Reservation and Allocation (GARA). The researchers of this paper constructed a testbed for evaluating the ability to reserve resource in the GARA system and implemented the GARA code for it. We analyzed the applied results and discussed future research plans.
