A Study on Producing Key Visuals Which are Motivated by the Ancient Myth of Goguryeo

The paper starts off with a notion that the most realistic problem in restoring cultural contents' archetype and developing contents industry based on it is the lack of understanding and production about key visual. Thus, with the premise that, in visualizing ancient fantasy as an original archetype subject material, one has to take into account design process for an actual content production, the paper aims for the suggestion of the necessity of key visual through visualization. For this, the paper made an artwork of archetype image based on literature and historical data with which to visualize fantasy elements of Goguryeo's ancient myth and tales that have high utilization value as various subject matters, such as animation and games.
Performance Improvement of OFDM Receivers by Using Rational Oversampling of the Received Signals

In this paper, we propose a method to improve the performance of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) receivers by using oversampling the received signals. Demodulation of the received OFDM signals is to detect the amplitude and phase components of the subcarriers. From the oversampled OFDM signals, we can get redundant informations in frequency domain for the data, which are different in phase but the same in amplitude. By using these properties, we can obtain signal to noise ratio (SNR) gain by the oversampling ratio compared to the receivers which sampled with symbol rate. In this paper, we propose oversampled receivers whose oversampling ratio is expanded from integer to general rational number. Through computer simulations, we show the validity of the proposed methods by comparing the performance of the receivers with nonideal band-limiting filters.

Design and Implementation of DVD cinema Management System

Recently it has shown the tendency that the number of consumers are increasing to see a movie by the live sound and much clear image at the DVD theater instead of video room or general theater. However, current DVD theaters are equipped only with the system which has the function of calculation on charging a fee. In this paper, we suggest more effective DVD cinema management system. It is possible to manage of urgent crisis using the technique of packet switching by this system. In addition, it is possible to manage the sailing goods and new DVD enrollment, assist the effective operation of the manager and make the mutual communication with customers.
Dynamic Power Management using Dynamic Frequency Scaling in Embedded System

In order to decrease the power consumption in Embedded Linux environment based on XScale PXA255, We produce the device driver of DFS(Dynamic Frequency Scaling) technique, design and implement the middleware DFM(Dynamic Frequency Management) to scale the power of embedded target board with porting this device drive, suggest the method to reduce the Embedded system's power consumption.
Suggestions for improvement of domestic Digital Cultural Heritage from the analysis of EPOCH project

As digital cultural heritages have been applied to various fields, more systematic research on the domestic digital cultural heritage need to be improved. The EPOCH project by European Union contributed to standardization of ICT+CH domain, creation of network between different organization, and study of socio-economic impact of digital cultural heritage. We can find a way to improve domestic digital cultural heritage projects by analyzing EPOCH project in each management technique culture view. Based on these analysis this paper suggests the necessity to establish an independent research domain for digital cultural heritage, investment in heritage sites by private companies, and research to fit better with the user's need, and study on business administration in digital cultural heritages.
A Study on the Transmission Characteristics and Channel Capacity of Telephone Line Communication System

The advances in the digital communication and network technology, Internet technology and the proliferation of smart appliances in home, have dramatically increased the need for a high speed/high quality home network. As consumer electronic devices and computing devices are increasing in the home network, it is obvious that the data traffic of home network increases as well. Various home network devices want to access Internet servers to get multimedia contents. Therefore, we introduce TLC(Telephone Line Carrier) system for networked digital consumer electronic appliances within a house using Ethernet or wire/wireless technology. In the future home network environment, the primary purposes of the smart home network based TLC are to create low-cost, easily deployable, high performance, and wide coverage throughout the home. In this paper, the channel capacity of telephone line communication system is evaluated and compared as a function of transmission power, number of OFDM carrier, channel loss, and noise loss for smart home network.
P2P query processing method between ontologies in internet environment

In simple topology in network system, query should be delivered to all linked peers for query processing. This causes waste of transmission band width and throughput of each peer. To overcome this, as well as query processing strategy, efficient routing technique to deliver query to proper peer is needed. For efficient routing, clustering of peers in P2P networks is important. Clustering of P2P network bases on that combines peers that have similar characteristics in same cluster reduces quantity of message in network than assign peer for cluster randomly. In this paper, we propose clustering techniques for ontology based P2P query processing. Similarity measure point, cluster index structure, and query processing steps in ontology based P2P cluster environment are proposed.
Running Large-scale Mobile Software using PDA Cluster Computing

As wireless internet markets become larger than before, many mobile applications are also being developed actively. In this circumstances mobile devices such as cell phones, PDAs are playing an important role to satisfy the user's need of ubiquitous computing. Due to the hardware limitations, however, the mobile devices like PDA can not run large-scale softwares by itself. The main goal of this paper is to make large-scale applications runnable on PDA. To accomplish this, we used the PDA-JPVM cluster computing engine which has been already developed by us. We found out by running the applications and the performance evaluation that large-scale Java softwares can easily run on the hardware-limited PDA. And the performance evaluation results are also presented.
Developing SCORM Sequencing Model and Sample Contents

Although Sequencing & Navigation(S&N) of ADL SCORM 2004 specifies relatively simple ones of possible sequencing behaviors based on IMS SS(Simple Sequencing) in learning context, it is practically not easy to implement the sequencing properly within SCORM content packages. Actually, many Korean content developers construct SCORM content packages by choosing one out of well-known LSAL sequencing templates and just inserting their contents into it. In this paper, we survey a number of widely used SCORM sequencing templates provided by LSAL, ADL and Xerceo, and also domestic conventional SCORM sequencing models, and then present a new SCORM sequencing models well conformant to Korean e-learning environments. We finally develop 3 types of SCORM sequencing templates and their contents samples by applying our sequencing models to a number of available domestic SCOs. We expect that our products can be widely used and referenced as a guidance by content developers troubled in implementing a variety of SCORM sequencings.
The Effects of Ubiquitous learning Characteristics on learning satisfaction in the digital textbook : Focused on the Moderating Effect of computer self-efficacy and digital textbooks usability

This study was conducted to provide standards for the development of contents and systems for digital textbooks by examining the learners' satisfaction from digital textbooks, which are now being distributed to schools, in terms of ubiquitous learning, and by verifying the moderation effect of learners' computer self efficacy and digital textbook usage. SPSS win 13.0 was used for technical statistics, Cronbach's
coefficient calculation and correlation analysis for empirical analysis, and the MMR (moderated multiple regression) analysis was conducted for the hypothesis test. The following principal results were obtained from the hypothesis tests. First, the ubiquitous learning features had direct effects on the learning satisfaction from the digital textbooks. Second, when the ubiquitous learning features had positive effects on the learning satisfaction from digital textbooks, both the computer self efficacy and digital textbook usage reacted with the ubiquitous learning feature and showed moderation effects. These results were statistically significant.
A Study on Improving TCP Performance in Wireless Network

As the TCP is the protocol designed for the wired network that packet loss probability is very low, because TCP transmitter takes it for granted that the packet loss by the wireless network characteristics is occurred by the network congestion and lowers the transmitter's transmission rate, the performance is degraded. In this article, we suggest the newly improved algorithm using two parameters, the local retransmission time value and the local retransmission critical value to the BS based on the Snoop. This technique adjusts the base stations local retransmission timer effectively according to the wireless link status to recover the wireless packet loss rapidly. We checked that as a result of the suggested algorithm through various simulations, A-Snoop protocol improve more the wireless TCP transmission rate by recovering the packet loss effectively in the wireless link that the continuous packet loss occur than the Snoop protocol.
Hand Gesture Recognition Using HMM(Hidden Markov Model)

In this paper we proposed a vision based realtime hand gesture recognition method. To extract skin color, we translate RGB color space into YCbCr color space and use CbCr color for the final extraction. To find the center of extracted hand region we apply practical center point extraction algorithm. We use Kalman filter to tracking hand region and use HMM(Hidden Markov Model) algorithm (learning 6 type of hand gesture image) to recognize it. We demonstrated the effectiveness of our algorithm by some experiments.
Visualization of Air Quality based on the IMPROVE Models

It is well-known that the scenic visibility achieved in our naked eyes is related with the quality of aerosol condition which is composed of primary and secondary air pollutants. In recent, the IMPROVE organization in U.S.A. has developed two algorithms to estimate the visible length depending on the elements of air pollutant. Using these algorithms, we are to represent the condition of aerosol quality with the well-known scenic images of the observing area so that any one that have no sufficient chemical knowledge may feel and understand the level of air pollution in visuality.
Use of the Internet and Internet addiction of youth in the relationship of interpersonal relationships and a sense of control of the pursuit

The youth of this research using the Internet, navigate to the factors and relationships with Internet addiction, and the sense of seeking and want to verify the effectiveness of the regulation of interpersonal relationships. Who was studied 347 high school students in the Gyeonggi Province. SPSS win 13.0 program to study the reliability coefficient was calculated and analysis of care. Regression analysis, control theory verification (MMR) was conducted. Factor analysis using the Internet when the Internet addiction affect, interpersonal relationships and the pursuit of a sense of interaction was confirmed by the positive control the effects. Verification results of this research using the Internet to the fact that Internet addiction Static (+) gave. Pursuit of interpersonal relationships and a sense of control and the interaction effects were different.
A Study on Hand Shape Recognition using Edge Orientation Histogram and PCA

In this paper, we present an algorithm which recognize hand shape in real time using only image without adhering separate sensor. Hand recognizes using edge orientation histogram, which comes under a constant quantity of 2D appearances because hand shape is intricate. This method suit hand pose recognition in real time because it extracts hand space accurately, has little computation quantity, and is less sensitive to lighting change using color information in complicated background. Method which reduces recognition error using principal component analysis(PCA) method to can recognize through hand shape presentation direction change is explained. A case that hand shape changes by turning 3D also by using this method is possible to recognize. Human interface system manufacture technique, which controls a home electric appliance or game using, suggested method at experience could be applied.
Health Diagnosis System of Pet Dog Using ART2 Algorithm

In this paper, we propose the diagnosis system that can predict pet's state of health for pet lovers lacking a technical knowledge of dog-diseases. The proposed system deduces diseases of dogs from input symptoms by our database constructed with 105 kinds of diseases and symptoms. First, a disease is clustered by ART2, the self-learning method in neural network and secondly, the result values, outputs and the weight values clustered by the algorithm are stored to database. Finally, our system diagnoses the state of health by means of comparing the learned information of diseases with the input vectors of each symptom and the related results of questions on diseases. The correct information of diseases and symptom diagnosing is important to predict the state of health of dogs. Therefore, in this paper, the proposed system can manage symptoms and diseases efficiently by database and ART2. We ask veterinary specialist with the efficiency of our system. As a result, we could confirm the possibility as the auxiliary diagnosis system for dog diseases.
Study on Characteristics of Users for the Mobile Educational Game Contents

In the era of Web 2.0, the digital contents are becoming major cultural subjects and the scope and added value of digital content technology industry keep increasing. In order to prevent thoughtless expansion of consumption oriented contents to the multimedia motion picture generation and promote the contents industry in educational, industrial or cultural aspect, educational contents should be specialized as strategic products with increased educational and entertaining meaning. As a result, this study analyzed characteristics of users regarding how educational game contents are distributed to consumers by both male and female group. Then, it extracted development factors for expansion of educational games and presented direction to educational game contents development by using educational games according to changes in users in order to secure mobile flat form contents for effective learning.
The Risk Factors of IT Outsourcing Decision in the Korean Firms

This paper analyzes the outcomes surveying 79 firms in Korea to investigate how Information Technology(IT) Outsourcing risk factors affects IT Outsourcing intention. Based on our literature reviews based on number of key articles, journals, and the focus group interviews, IT Outsourcing risk factor s are proposed into three different domains: Transaction, Client, Vendor perspectives. As the statistic al analysis, it found that the risk factors related on the client, vendor perspectives, is closely related to the IT Outsourcing intention of the Korean firms. So It will be desirable to prepare and resist the risk factors of clients of themselves and IT service vendor's for the adopting and enlarging the IT outsourcing implementation.
Performance Comparison of On-demand Routing Protocol to Supply Secure Service for Mobile Ad Hoc Networks

MANET is network that attach importance to not only service of large network as internet but also support of communication among each nodes because infrastructure constitution is disadvantage economically or difficult physically. The most important part in protection of systems constitute MANET is that authenticate each nodes securely and offer reliable service. Well defined routing technique is necessity to this. In this paper, in order to offer safe service, we compare capacity of present security routing protocol, analyze to solve weakness of existing on-demand routing protocol and existing routing protocol and argue with study course of hereafter security routing protocol.
Modeling Heavy-tailed Behavior of 802.11b Wireless LAN Traffic

To effectively exploit the underlying network bandwidth while maximizing user perceivable QoS, mandatory to make proper estimation on packet loss and queuing delay of the underling network. This issue is further emphasized in wireless network environment where network bandwidth is scarce resource. In this work, we focus our effort on developing performance model for wireless network. We collect packet trace from actually wireless network environment. We find that packet count process and bandwidth process in wireless environment exhibits long range property. We extract key performance parameters of the underlying network traffic. We develop an analytical model for buffer overflow probability and waiting time. We obtain the tail probability of the queueing system using Fractional Brown Motion (FBM). We represent average queuing delay from queue length model. Through our study based upon empirical data, it is found that our performance model well represent the physical characteristics of the IEEE 802.11b network traffic.
A Study on Object-Oriented Programming Education for Improving Logical Thinking Ability of Elementary School Students

Computer programming education helps students understand abstract concepts better and solve given problems independently. Many previous studies on programming education have focused on procedural programming languages such as BASIC and C, but studies on objected-oriented program ming language like JAVA is rare. This paper examines how an architectural neural, objected-oriented JAVA programming study system can improve logical thinking ability and encourage self-led study and stimulate interests in computers among elementary school students. The system has been developed and is suitable for distributed Internet environment. The experiment results demonstrated that the objected-oriented programming education enhances logical thinking ability, exerts a positive impact on student achievement in math and science, and stimulate interests in computers.
