Computer programming education can improve students' logical thinking and problem-solving ability. Therefore, it is essential tool to improve algorithmic thinking ability. We study how much Dolittle and Squeak influences improving elementary students' logical thinking ability. Thus, we divided 6th grade elementary students into two classes and then taught Dorittle and Squeak programming languages for 6 weeks, respectively. We compare and analyze each logical thinking ability and its sub-classifications. The results showed that Dorritle affects significant improvement, but not Squeak.
Silhouette Denoising for the Stone Cultural Heritages
Kim, Hak-Ran ; WhangBo, Taek-Keun ;
Journal of Digital Contents Society, volume 10, issue 3, 2009, Pages 381~388
This paper proposes a denoising method for the contour edges and crease edges of silhouette obtained from 3D scanned data of stone cultural heritages. It is often the case that the silhouette involves noise in the form of short-length line segments, due to rough surfaces of stone cultural heritages, weathering, and technical difficulties arising in data acquisition. Thus the removal of the short-length line segments from the contour edges and crease edges can result in a clear and accurate silhouette. An efficient computational algorithm is introduced to count the continuity of line segments; edges having not more than 3 line segments are removed. It has been verified that the new method is more effective than threshold-based silhouette extraction methods for stone heritages. Our method is applicable for various other data which are deteriorated by short-length line segments.

Journal of Digital Contents Society, volume 10, issue 3, 2009, Pages 395~400
The wide spread of the Internet service has brought in web GIS development. But, there are problems of the user access latencies, the network traffic, and the server overload in Internet Geographic Information System because spatial data are transferred in large volumes. In this paper, I propose a cache algorithm on client side to solve the above problems. The proposed algorithm demonstrates the performance improvement over known studies by utilizing unit time and spatial proximity. In addition, this paper conducts a performance evaluation to measure the improvement in algorithm efficiency and analyzes the results of the performance evaluation. When spatial data queries are conducted, according to our performance evaluation, hit rate has been improved over the existing algorithms.

This study focused on the crisis of local private broadcasting and political solution. The local private broadcasting has launched in 1995. Until now, local private broadcasting is successful in stable management and ensuring profit but it is attributed to a role of transmission pipe of SBS. However, this kind of syndication system has been a major problem of local private broadcasting and local private broadcasting has become weak and weak from outside impact. Presently broadcasting market has been changed very fast. It enters into unlimited competition era of multimedia and multichannel. However, especially local private broadcasting has both of public and private characteristics. Thus, local private broadcasting should not be hung by the wall any more. In this study administrative outcome of local private broadcasting will be analyzed and some hot political issues will be analyzed also then the political solution might be looked up at the same time. Now local private broadcasting also should be changed to totally new broadcasting company pursuing creative local contents and new digital concept.

Recently, various kinds of arcade games are offered through the network with the internet's development. And for the Grid Logic game, it is opened up for everyone who uses the internet but it has a disadvantage that only the provided puzzles can be played. To improve this, in this paper, we developed a Grid Logic game contents using an image of user's as a puzzle. In order to do this, we suggested a threshold decision method, the pre-processing stage of image processing. We showed a method of detecting aim image from a binary image, showed up by the suggested way, and a method of changing into the game data and carrier of the meaning as a specific image at the end of the game are the objects of this paper. The suggested algorithm is constructed as a Java applet and applied to the 10 objects such as characters, logos, persons, etc. to show that this algorithm is suitable for the appropriate acquisition of the Grid Logic game data through the experiment.

Journal of Digital Contents Society, volume 10, issue 3, 2009, Pages 423~431
There are various image retrieval methods using shape, color and texture features. One of the most active area is using shape and color information. A number of shape representations have been suggested to recognize shapes even under affine transformation. There are many kinds of method for shape recognition, the well-known method is Fourier descriptors and moment invariant. The other method is CSS(Curvature Scale Space). The maxima of curvature scale space image have already been used to represent 2-D shapes in different applications. Because preexistence CSS exists several problems, in this paper we use improved CSS method for retrieval image. There are two kinds of method, One is using RGB color information feature and the other is using HSI color information feature. In this paper we used HSI color model to represent color histogram before, then use it as comparison measure. The similarity is measured by using Euclidean distance and for reduce search time and accuracy, We use DTW for measure similarity. Compare with the result of using Euclidean distance, we can find efficiency elevated.

Kim, Sang-Beom ; Park, Hwa-Jin ;
Journal of Digital Contents Society, volume 10, issue 3, 2009, Pages 441~446
This study suggests a reliable risk diagnosis system on the lease deposit, as one of main functions for a real estate information system. A previous system adopted a method where a user should input all required data and the program just performs a simple calculation to provide the results to users. Such a methodology makes a user feel uncomfortable and reduces the reliability for the risk diagnosis of the lease deposit. Therefore, the suggested method in this paper is to minimize the data input by users and to provide a proper sale price to users based on the existing raw data and the statistic court auction data. In addition to the risk diagnosis, it explains about some possible risk information and provides a way to control a risk so that a user can recognize any risk.

Journal of Digital Contents Society, volume 10, issue 3, 2009, Pages 447~452
In information age, sharing about the information and various techniques to control other computers which are connected in network started to appear. One of these techniques is remote control system. However, conventional remote control systems have had a lot of inconvenience to use because of limited functions. For example, it always has to connect to the electricity supply to operate the server program. Also, one-to-one remote control is only possible by one's permission. In order to solve the problems of the conventional remote control system's limited functions, this paper implements the system which applies the WOL(Wake On Lan) function to be possible remote power control to multi client computers by one server computer connected to a lot of client computers not one-to-one.

In recently, as the interest of media contents increase among internet users, a variety of media contents are circulated in the web. Especially, video-media content in media contents attracts internet user's interest. In conjunction with web 2.0, internet users open and share their making contents by themselves. Their attitude about accepting media contents is not passive but aggressive. Additionally, they create new form of distribution of the flow. Video media content for distribution on the Web is created by experts to a professional content, but Web 2.0 era, the UCC (User Create Contents) in the form of self-produced content is the most. The generated media by the general internet users, but self-produced content, provides video information only and has limitations. To satisfy internet users as consumers in the web 2.0 eras, it has needed to provide actual feeling contents that add various effects not just simple media. Therefore, this paper represents the existing media content with simple information based on the concept of ontology and the meaning to the subject for the media content. We will provide an actual feeling how to offer the configuration of a service model (AF-VS : Actual Feeling Video Service).

Journal of Digital Contents Society, volume 10, issue 3, 2009, Pages 479~484
Security system of wireless network take on importance as use of wireless network increases. Detection and opposition about that is difficult even if attack happens because MANET is composed of only moving node. And it is difficult that existing security system is applied as it is because of migratory nodes. Therefore, system is protected from malicious attack of intruder in this environment and it has to correspond to attack immediately. In this paper, we propose intrusion detection system using cluster head in order to detect malicious attack and use resources efficiently. we used method that gathering of rules is defined and it judges whether it corresponds or not to detect intrusion more exactly. In order to evaluate performance of proposed method, we used blackhole, message negligence, jamming attack.
