Automatic Extraction and Coding of Multi-ROI

JPEG2000 offers the technique which compresses the interested regions with higher quality than the background. It is called by an ROI(Region-of-Interest) coding method. In this paper, we use images including the human faces, which are processed uppermost and compressed with high quality. The proposed method consists of 2 steps. The first step extracts some faces and the second one is ROI coding. To extract the faces, the method cuts or scale-downs some regions with
window pixels for all the pixels of the image, and after preprocessing, recognizes the faces using neural networks. Each extracted region is identified by ROI mask and then ROI-coded using Maxshift method. After then, the image is compressed and saved using EBCOT. The existing methods searched the ROI by edge distributions. On the contrary, the proposed method uses human intellect. And the experiment shows that the method is sufficiently useful with images having several human faces.
An Effective Multicast Services Mechanism for Proxy Mobile IPv6 Networks

The PMIPv6 protocol that has been recently presented as an alternative for the MIPV6 has been getting much persuasion by the system resource and the network bandwidth and the advancement of the network cost. we propose an effective scheduling for multicast services based on the PMIPv6 with hand-over mechanism. it provides an additional function that is able to change multicast join processes dynamically in accordance with MAG status. in order to evaluate the ability of the proposed scheme`s We test the performance of hand-over and node join costs with similar techniques. The result of simulation shows improves about 13~35% of performance.
Research on WINC expansion numbers to improve the accessibility of mobile web service

For the past few years, unlike wireless widespread United States and Japan, expensive cost and platform of the mobile web carrier underground and self-centered made achievement of domestic mobile web market sluggish. Nowadays, more and more people pay attention to the mobile web service because of the increased quality of wireless internet, development of mobile device and variety of the flat-rate payment system. However, another big problem is that mobile web is too hard to use. Also, the poor content of mobile web service is an extremely serious problem. In this paper, we put forward a new method for easy to access mobile web service which is use WINC expansion numbers and users can use these numbers to shit their own website. Along with the benefits of purchase WINC number general users are able to make website and control their website at less time and energy.
Design and Implementation of a Field Experience Activity Support System for Improving Social Skills of Children with Developmental Disabilities

In this thesis, a field experience activity support system is designed and implemented for improving social skills of children with developmental disabilities. The proposed system is designed to allow the students to experience various field activities around their local community. The proposed system has the following characteristics. First, it can improve effectiveness of field experience by providing very practical pre-study information to students. Second, the systems provides very practical and real-world problem-solving abilities rather than providing simple experience and superficial information. Third, the system allows students to change the contents according to their local community environments and purpose of use. Fourth, the system can be used as education for living at home as well as field experience study at schools. After applying the proposed system to students with developmental disabilities, the following positive results are obtained. First, the system have good effect on students with severe developmental disabilities when the system is used for prestudy. Specially those students are highly interested and motivated on study subjects. Second, at real field experience study place, students are well adapted and are very interested in their activities. Third, in the light of post-evaluation after field experience, it is reported that lots of study contents remain in their memory.
The usability of the image according to the frequency encoding gradient direction conversion in fixation using the non magnetic metal screw

Because of causing the geometrical transformation of the magnetic field, the patient implementing the fixation using the nonmagnetic metal screw causes the magnetic susceptibility artifact at an image. Thus, in this research, the distortion measure of the image according to the frequency oblique direction conversion tried to be compared in the magnetic susceptibility artifact occurence. First, the itself phantom inserting the nonmagnetic metal screw of the titanium component was made and the region of interest was set up and the frequency oblique direction the anterior - back side was converted to the right-to-left direction in the axial image and a right-to-left was converted to the upper side - bottom side in the coronal plane and the upper - bottom side was converted to the anterior - back side in the sagittal plane and the distortion measure of the region of interest was compared, it observed. In a result, when converting the frequency oblique direction, the distortion difference of the region of interest could be confirmed and it is considered to enhance the diagnostics efficiency changing the oblique direction appropriately.
An Implementation of an Android Mobile System for Extracting and Retrieving Texts from Images

Recently, an interest in a mobile search is increasing according to the growing propagation of smart phones. However, a keypad, which is not appropriate for mobile environment, is the only input media for the mobile search. As an alternative, voice emerged as a new media for the mobile search, but this also has weaknesses. Thus, in the paper, we propose a mobile content called Orthros for searching the Internet using images as an input. Orthros extracts texts from images, and then inserts the texts to public search engines as a keyword. Also, Orthros can repeat searching with the extracted texts by storing result URL to internal databases. As an experiment, we analyze properties of recognizable images and present the implementation method in details.
Social Networks Analysis using External Community Relationship

A clustering process for nodes in a network is required to find communities from social networks. General clustering algorithm needs to be configured the number of communities in advance. The number of communities is a very important element because the result of clustering can be different, depending on it. In this paper, we define the external community relationship which is distinguished between communities. Using the external community relationship as an evaluation metric of clustering result, we propose a method to determine the number of communities dynamically. We compare the proposed method to existing methods based on the accuracy of the number of communities and the average purity of communities. Our results show favorable performance for these criteria compared to the existing methods that were evaluated.
Design and Implementation of Spatial Object Format for Providing Mobile Map Services

Providing services in a wireless environment with existing wired-based GIS solutions have many limitations such as slow communication, processing rates, and screen size. Among the components, data is considered to be the most important factor in GIS. In this paper, I describe MVF, the most recent technology pioneered by GIS researchers. MVF is a format for efficient usage of spatial object in order to express, save and transform in mobile GIS. First, I describe the definition of MVF syntax, then the implementation of Header Section Generation Module and Main Section Generation Module through the API. Since the issues of network traffic and Hangul processing in mobile GIS are important, I especially consider development of MVF in terms of spatial data size.
A Study on Designing Method of VoIP QoS Management Framework Model under NGN Infrastructure Environment

QoS(Quality of Service) is defined as "The collective effect of service performance which determines the degree of satisfaction of a user of the service" by ITU-T Rec. E.800. While the use of VoIP(Voice Over Internet Protocol) has been widely implemented, persistent problems with QoS are a very important sue which needs to be solved. This research is finding the assignment of VoIP QoS to deduct how to manage the control system and presenting the QoS control process and framework under NGN(Next Generation Network) environment. The trial framework is the modeling of the QoS measurement metrics, instrument, equipment, method of measurement, the series of cycle & the methodology about analysis of the result of measurement. This research underlines that the vulnerability of the VoIP protocol in relation to its QoS can be guaranteed when the product quality and management are controlled and measured systematically. Especially it`s very important time to maintain the research about VoIP QoS measurement and control because the big conversion of new network technology paradigm is now spreading. In addition, when the proposed method is applied, it can reduce an overall delay and can contribute to improved service quality, in relation to signal, voice processing, filtering more effectively.
Design of XMP-Based Electronic Document Architecture for Electronic Circulation of Litigation Documents

It has become commonplace to use web-based business process systems in a variety of fields, and electronic litigation is not an exception. In electronic procedures where court records are at the core of the system, the electronic document architecture should be designed in a way that electronic documents are safely circulated and utilized on the web with a consideration of the authentication of records, particularity of cases and document security such as prevention of forgery or falsification. Based on a study of electronic formats suitable for court records, the Extensible Markup Language (XMP) for management of special case information and security requirements for circulation of electronic documents, this paper suggests an adequate architecture for electronic documents designed for electronic litigation involving constitutional matters and looks into cases where such architectures are applied. The studies in this paper will serve as a useful reference for those planning to realize web-based business process that enables exchanges of electronic documents.
An Implementation of A Recruiting System for Real-time Communication Matching based on Android Platform

Recently, interests for recruiting and the rates of using smart phones are growing fast. The paper proposes Recruid, which is a smart phone application based on android platform, that helps real-time communication matching between users. They can use every services of Recruid anywhere and anytime which reflects mobility characteristics of smart phones, and also use additional services on web pages. Recruid provides three main services. First, it provides mobile subscription and submission functionality on high mobility and convenience. Second, it provides group service that user can make their own groups. Last, it also provides reliability evaluation mechanism of activity data in Recruid thus, Recruid provides high credibility to users. The paper presents implementation of Recruid and shows the snapshots of the presented system.
A Study on the Efficient Use of Computer Systems for Hotel Businesses

The computer systems of many hotel businesses in Korea do not really succeed in keeping up with the rapidly developing IT technology. It is essential that they keep updating the information systems of hotels, which will eventually result in enhanced customer satisfaction. They also need to make every effort to develop and maintain appropriate computing systems to improve the quality of service to customers. This paper discusses how computers have been introduced to hotel businesses and how the intended goals have been materialized. We attempt to examine the information systems of some Korean hotels and see if there is any problem that needs to be solved. From the perspective of a general information system, we intend to make a proposal to optimize the computer system of the hotels.
Effectiveness of Multimedia Program in Computer-assisted Vocabulary Learning

The purpose of this study is to discover if the use of computer technologies in computer-assisted language learning, in the aspect of vocabulary learning, is both effective and useful. The technique of using multimedia lessons, using the computer, offers a variety of language learning tasks in relation to the four basic language learning skills. Korean students have been accustomed to a cramming style of education, and they utilize rote memorization for learning vocabulary. This study consisted of surveys and experiments, using specific multimedia language learning courseware exercises on three different age groups. The study explores the issues and problems that followed, and how teachers could effectively apply or enhance their vocabulary teaching through computer-assisted multimedia which is suited for a variety of levels versus the classroom off-line vocabulary learning application which is suited to one level.
Adaptive Link Recovery Period Determination Algorithm for Structured Peer-to-peer Networks

Structured P2P (peer-to-peer) networks have received much attention in research communities and the industry. The data stored in structured P2P networks can be located in a log-scale time without using central severs. The link-structure of structured P2P networks should be maintained for keeping log-scale search performance of it. When nodes join or leave structured P2P networks frequently, some links become unavailable and search performance is degraded by these links. To sustain search performance of structured P2P networks, periodic link recovery scheme is generally used. However, when the link recovery period is short or long compared with node join and leave rates, it is possible that sufficient number of links are not restored or excessive messages are used after the link-structure is restored. We propose the adaptive link recovery determination algorithm to maintain the link-structure of structured P2P networks when the rates of node joining and leaving are changed dynamically. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can maintain similar QoS under various node leaving rates.
