A Study on 3D Game Character Grouping using Object Feature Vector

Grouping of characters in a 3D game can be very effective to play. An 3D game characters grouping method is proposed using Object Feature vector depending on their characteristics. In the case of NMT, the constitution of pattern is regular and directive. But MT is not. Such characteristic is extracted using Gabor Filter, then character is grouped. Through experiment, we obtain accuracy of more than 80% for grouping method using each feature. Thus, using this property, characters could be grouped effectively and it draws the game more speed and strategic actions as a result.
Efficient Filtering for Depth Sensors under Infrared Light Emitting Sources

Recently, infrared (IR)-based depth sensors have proliferated as consumer electronics thanks to decreased price, which led to various applications including gesture recognition in television virtual studios. However, the depth sensors fail to capture depth information correctly under strong light conditions emitting infrared light which are very common in television studios. This paper analyzes the mechanism of such interference between the depth sensors relying on certain IR frequencies and infrared light emitting sources, and provides methods to get correct depth information by applying filters. Also, it describes experiment methods and presents the results of applying multiple combinations of filters with different cut-off frequencies. Finally, it proves that the interference due to IR can be filtered out using proposed filtering method practically by experiment.
An Experimental Study on the English Vowel Lengths Using the Praat Software Program

The purpose of this experimental study is to investigate and compare the vowel lengths of the English diphthongs, /eɪ/ and /aɪ/, and the front low vowel /æ/ among English-speaking natives with Korean college students using the Praat software program. To do this English sentences were uttered and recorded by twelve subjects, six Korean subjects and six English-speaking native subjects. All the subjects are female and their age ranges from 23 to 35. Acoustic features(duration) were measured from a sound spectrogram with the help of the Praat software program and analyzed through statistical analysis. Results showed that the vowel lengths of the English diphthongs and the front low vowel between native English speakers and Korean collegians were different. In the pronunciation of the diphthongs /eɪ/ and /aɪ/, Korean subjects pronounced longer than native subjects did, but the difference was not significant. However, in the pronunciation of the English front low vowel /æ/, native subjects pronounced significantly longer than Korean subjects did. From the data of the overall sum of words and vowels between the two subject groups, we were able to find out that the differences of lengths of both the three words and the two diphthongs /eɪ/ and /aɪ/ were not significant, but those of /æ/ were significant.
Context Ontology and Trigger Rule Design for Service Pattern Mining

Ubiquitous computing is a technique to provide users with appropriate services, collecting the context information in somewhere by attached sensor. An intelligent system needs to automatically update services according to the user's various circumstances. To do this, in this paper, we propose a design of context ontology, trigger rule for mining service pattern related to users activity and an active mining architecture integrating trigger system. The proposed system is a framework for active mining user activity and service pattern by considering the relation between user context and object based on trigger system.
A Study on the influencing factors for Satisfaction of Mobile Coupon Service

This study deals with the influencing factors for satisfaction of mobile coupon service. Thus researcher examined a structural equation modeling methodology of the path within word of mouth, satisfaction, and other exogenous variables (economic value, trust, joyfulness, innovativeness). As a result of this study, mobile coupon users understand the characteristics of basic coupon concept, and First, it was confirmed that the economic value, innovativeness affected user's trust for coupon service and joyfulness for using coupon. Second, it was confirmed that trust and joyfulness affected user's satisfaction and word of mouth activities. Moreover, this paper's contribution point is the proposes of the one of the post adoption model with the quantitative study of the industrial development stages of current various mobile coupon application.
An Efficient Vector Quantization Codebook generation using a Triangle Inequality

Active data are the input data which are changed its membership as Vector Quantization codebook generation algorithm is processed. In the process of VQ codebook generation algorithm performed, the actual active data out of the entire input data will be less presented as the process is performed. Therefore, if we can accurately find the active data and only if we are going to do VQ codebook generation on the active data, then we can significantly reduce the overall generation time. In this paper, we presented the triangle inequality based algorithm to select the active data. Experimental results show that our algorithm is superior to other methods in terms of the VQ codebook generation time.
A study on Similarity analysis of National R&D Programs using R&D Project's technical classification

Recently, coordination task of similarity between national R&D programs is emphasized on view from the R&D investment efficiency. But the previous similarity search method like text-based similarity search which using keyword of R&D projects has reached the limit due to deviation of document's quality. For the solve the limitations of text-based similarity search using the keyword extraction, in this study, utilization of R&D project's technical classification will be discussed as a new similarity search method when analyzed of similarity between national R&D programs. To this end, extracts the Science and Technology Standard Classification of R & D projects which are collected when national R&D Survey & analysis, and creates peculiar vector model of each R&D programs. Verify a reliability of this study by calculate the cosine-based and Euclidean distance-based similarity and compare with calculated the text-based similarity.
An Empirical Study on Forecasting Model of Popularity Rating for Drama Programs

Production of drama programs has been granted as a creative work. Thus Systematic approaches to improving quality of drama programs have hardly been tried. This research is for producing a statistical computing model that is capable of forecasting on popularity rating of drama programs produced by KBS, especially forecasting prior to the broadcasting. For the work, we traced various factors affecting on drama popularity ratings, found the relationships among the factors with a regression analysis work, and created the forecasting model on drama popularity ratings. The research result could be applied for finding proper scales of input factors necessary to drama program productions.
Implementation of Korea - Computer Access Assessment System (K-CAAS) for Persons with Physical Disabilities

The purpose of the study was to develop a computer access assessment system for improving computer access of individuals with physical disabilities for the first time in Korea. Korea-Computer Access Assessment System (K-CAAS) presented in this article tests five user skills of aim, drag, menu, scan, and switch. Skill levels of the five test areas could be set as low, middle, and high according to individuals' characteristics. All tests have their default set in each level, and skill levels can be selected and controlled by the abilities and goals of a user. Tests could be selected for users' training and their results could be traced and shown. Therefore, the K-CAAS is a training program to improve computer access skills as well as an assessing program. It would help users with physical disabilities operate a computer by themselves as improving their computer access skills.
Implementation of DID interface using gesture recognition

In this paper, we implemented a touchless interface for DID(Digital Information Display) system using gesture recognition technique which includes both hand motion and hand shape recognition. Especially this touchless interface without extra attachments gives user both easier usage and spatial convenience. For hand motion recognition, two hand-motion's parameters such as a slope and a velocity were measured as a direction-based recognition way. And extraction of hand area image utilizing YCbCr color model and several image processing methods were adopted to recognize a hand shape recognition. These recognition methods are combined to generate various commands, such as, next-page, previous-page, screen-up, screen-down and mouse -click in oder to control DID system. Finally, experimental results showed the performance of 93% command recognition rate which is enough to confirm the possible application to commercial products.
Implementation of IEEE 802.15.4 Protocol Stack on the Texas Instrument CC2530

Wireless sensor networks consist of resource constraint devices which typically send data measured by sensors attached to the end devices towards a coordinator. The most often used medium access control protocol used in wireless sensor networks is the standard IEEE 802.15.4, where it is wireless standard introduced for low power, low cost wireless communication with moderate data rates. In this paper, we present implementation of both the IEEE 802.15.4 protocol stack and UART interface on the TI CC2530. We show that data via UART of our implemented IEEE 802.15.4 board are transmitted correctly in terms of captured frames.
A Study on the Development of Educational Digital Media in Brewing Coffee Using 3D Animation

The coffee market has been rapidly growing up recently as well as the coffee industry which makes the number of educational institutions increasing in Korea. On the other hand, the classes lean too much on the practical exercise so the coffee education is urgently needed to define precisely and systematize academically. This study is accomplished on the basis of the teachers and students requirement analysis. The features that sets this study apart from the existing educational digital media is that the definite teaching-learning methods and teaching strategies were developed first. Furthermore, the physical and chemical phenomenon of coffee brewing were simulated by 3D animation software based on the visual languages. The general process of this media production was composed by the mutual relationship of the teacher's needs, educationist's strategies and media producer. After applying the digital media to students in the lesson of coffee science theory it was effective to increase their concentrativeness, interesting and learning motive. This media is also receiving the positive evaluation by the teachers to help the students in understanding the coffee science.

World Skills Korea Committee for Industrial Policy in the 21st century to meet the needs of the historical profession in animation filed excellent acquisition and the need for human resources through research and public hearings beginning in 2009 a new animation filed in the National Skills Competition adopted the profession. Youth animator's features, technologies, and creativity to develop features that help the tournament by forming social relationships and participation. In this study, four years of the test questions analysis and making questions on animation field the way the game athletes and coaching staff interviews, surveys of major in animation through a detailed analysis of the challenges and constructive suggestions by the direction of the best animated field, excavation and occupations were aimed at improving levels of functionality.
Application of data mining techniques for finding customer-oriented product market segments

The definition of the product market in a supplier's point of view can cause various problems in the market activities of companies because specific situations are excluded and the consideration for discontinuity is lacking by identifying segmented markets with processes, raw materials, the similarity of product functions and so forth. Furthermore, as this definition is static and general, it is difficult to express and predict the dynamic market changes. Meanwhile, customer-oriented market segment can be obtained by grouping substitutable products and related customers in the situation pursuing specific benefits. This definition of the product market enables us to find threats and opportunities emerging in markets and promotes effective performance assessments and resource allocation. The purpose of this paper is suggesting a framework to select data mining techniques proper for the customer data characteristics to identify customer oriented product market.

New and creative skills must be developed, and adapted into a lesson, to motivate learners to acquire a second language easily and enjoyment, Multimedia tools which are of interest to learners, such as; smart phones, computers, and notebooks with wireless internet compatability, will provide learners opportunities to study, and do their work practically anywhere and anytime. Recently, podcasts, which are a type of digital media, consisting of a series of audio episodes or video files, subscribed to and downloaded through web syndication, or streamed online to a computer or mobile device, are used to facilitate ESL (English as a Second Language) learning. Development of a variety of teaching methods, using multimedia tools, is needed. There are advantages and disadvantages to using a variety of multimedia tools. The current research aims to study its characteristics and application, in order to maximize their effective use, in English education. The current study suggests a ubiquitous learning environment using multimedia content tools, internet media, video teleconferencing, cyber-learning, and one-to-one videos used in conjunction with, or as a digital textbook for the English lesson. This study also investigates future educational changes, using state-of-the-art equipment for the self-learning experience, and will present a new direction in English education, through a variety of instructional devices and a marginalized class system model.
An Implementation of Mobile Messenger Application for Kindergartens and Nurseries

Communication through smartphones is creating a new paradigm of mobile communication beyond the restrictions of mobility and space. The mobile instant messengers of the smartphone, which began on the desktop environment, are providing various communication features, including multimedia contents, texts, and voice. Kindergartens and nurseries are using Websites, phones, SMS, printed materials, handwritten notifications, etc. to communicate with the parents. IsPlus was developed to facilitate the communication between the parents and the teachers, including exchanges of pictures and videos, chatting, and attendance management using smartphones. This is meaningful in that it is an early smartphone mobile messenger for educational institutions for infants and preschoolers. This study presented a new approach to the development of a mobile messenger for a specific group of users by analyzing the user environment, communication types, application planning process and interface design development using storytelling.

In this paper, PBL-based design education(PBDE) techniques for effective engineering design education to assess the infrastructure and outcome of creative engineering education which has been recognized as an important target in accreditation system of engineering education and a case of contents development as PBDE application to the logic circuit design that is essential integrant course of IT division of universities is presented. Because integrant design is based on compositional technologies with restricted realistic constraints, design components and the application of realistic constraints are different from those of capstone design. PBL technique must be carefully considered as it is used for creative design education. We applied the developed content to real design classes for validation of its performance and effectiveness.
The Characteristic of Radiation Exposure for Radiologist with Applying Condition in Interventional Radiology in Cardiology

Lately, the number of interventional radiology is increased by the extension of procedure in medical radiation, and radiation exposure may be appeared differently by interventional radiologists, it is caused increase of radiation dose for radiation worker, patient, and radiologists. This study has done a comparative analysis characteristic of radiation exposure for five radiologists who executed interventional cardiology for 303 patients in S university hospital of Gyeong-Buk from Nov. 1, 2011 to Jan. 31, 2011. The average exposure time of five radiologists was 697.95sec. The average of cumulative DAP(exp) for patients was
and the average of total DAP for patients was
. The average of frames for image was 855.52 frames in acquired images, and the average of frames for images was 802.2 frames in exposure images. They were statistically significant differences (p<0.05). Exposure time, cumulative DAP(fluro), cumulative DAP(exp), total DAP, acquired image, and exposure image were high correlation except cumulative DAP(exp), and acquired runs in x-ray exposure characteristics of machine. Exposure time was a great influence on radiologist. It signified that the more exposure time lead to the more radiation dose for radiologist. Radiation dose is related to ability, experience, difficulty, and precision of procedures in interventional procedure. The number of angiography and exposure time is difficult to control by radiologists. Therefore, it is in need of reasonable system which was evaluated the real dose of medical teams in interventional proceedings. We think that self education and training are required to reduce radiation dose for radiologists and radiation workers.
Analysis on Interesting Element of Mobile Application Using User Reviews

Recently, many mobile applications have been developed and published by increasing popularity of smart phone's market. However, a lack of research work is an issue for mobile applications' favoritism to users. In this paper, we have determined the acceptance factors on the existing smart phone applications in order to fit into mobile user's requirements. In addition, we have defined the modification of acceptance factors which are the interesting element of mobile applications, code users reviews of top 20 paid applications among android market applications, and analyse on what element can attract users' interest of mobile applications. As a result, we propose a development method of mobile applications based on the analyzed interesting elements. Our contribution is to provide useful information to mobile application companies for helping them to develop and publish successful mobile applications.
Production of an Interactive Artwork through Analysis on the Expression Method for Subject Area on Screen (Focused on Color, Face and Brightness)

Recently, many interactive artworks produce through convergence of art and scientific technology. Artists or designers should cooperate with other areas for analysis in order to share database. According to these requirements, In this study, we analyze Kandinsky's works which are more emphasis on subject area than the emphasis to background area by using a number of colors, faces, and brightness levels. Due to this approach, it determines how to represent for stable screen composition attracting viewer's eyes. As a result, the subject area has more a number of colors, faces, and brightness levels than the background area. In addition, we produce the interactive artwork based on the analyzed data. According to the requirement of convergence and collaboration in the historical background, this study will be able to contribute to make the collaboration by sharing common information between artists and professionals in other areas. In addition, it is expected that other production makers who do not have the background of arts education will be able to configure the visual screen.
An Efficient Search Mechanism for Dynamic Path Selection

Recently, as the use of real time traffic information of a car navigation system increases rapidly with the development of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), path search is getting more important. Previous algorithms, however, are mostly for the shortest distance searching and provide route information using static distance and time information. Thus they could not provide the most optimal route at the moment which changes dynamically according to traffic. Accordingly, in this study, Semantic Shortest Path algorithm with Reduction ratio & Distance(SSP_RD) is proposed to solve this problem. Additionally, a routing model based on velocity reduction ratio and distance and a dynamic route link map are proposed.
An Education Effects through 3D Animation implementation using Educational Programming Language

In this work, we develop an instructional method in which students create 3D animations based on problem-solving techniques and computational thinking. The educational, easy-to-learn programming environment/language called "Alice 2.3", which supports story-telling, is used for the delivery of the instructional method. Unlike typical 3D animation instructional methods using command-based demonstrations and/or 3D animation tools, learners engage in a group project in which they develop a story and solve problems by creativity, computational thinking and reasoning skills. Then they develop animations based on the story by programming with Alice. The analysis based on the collected data showed that learners had to put much effort while working on the project, but their critical-thinking skills were improved. It also showed they were more involved and their interests were heightened in developing animation through programming.
A Research Trend Analysis of PMIPv6-based Distributed Mobility Management Technology for Traffic Offload

Recently, as the smart devices such as smart phone and smart pad are becoming increasingly common, the number of the smart devices users is increasing explosively. Therefore, the mobile Internet traffic is tend to get more and more increasing, and thus it is expected that the demand for using mobile Internet traffic will be exponentially increasing annually worldwide. In addition, mobile communications operators concentrate on much efforts and investments in order to effectively solve these problems at home and abroad, and the interest on the network-based (i.e., PMIPv6-based) distributed mobility management technology, which effectively distributes the explosively increasing mobile Internet traffic, is getting larger and larger. In this paper, we address the overview and recent research trend of PMIPv6-based distributed mobility management technology, and also describe the necessity and future prospect for studying PMIPv6-based distributed mobility management technology.
