An Implementation of a Messenger for Finding Well-Matched Friends on PDAs

Recently, As the increase in interaction between the person and the person, the people plentifully use a messenger. Thus, we propose a new messenger program, we call Hellow Fellow Messenger. The hollow fellow messenger has functions of general messenger such as chatting, note exchange, friend addition. Also, hollow fellow messenger provide with special function, which find friends satisfied conditions in PDA and PC environment. So, Client can find not only friend who is register already but also friend who is the possibility of seeing a movie and can comfortably talk together and so on. For this, server sends information for users satisfied in condition from databases to client and client selects a user among received information for users. Client-server communication is implemented using MFC.
An Efficient Transmission Plan for Multimedia Data Transmission

Smoothing is a transmission plan where variable rate video data is converted to a constant bit rate stream. Among them are CBA, MCBA, MVBA, e-PCRTT and others. e-PCRTT algorithm, which was improved from PCRTT, restricts the number of rate changes with fixed-size run. This causes unnecessary rate changes when run size is small and buffer size is large. In this paper, to overcome a shortcoming of e-PCRTT algorithm, a smoothing algorithm is proposed, which is improved from e-PCRTT, where a transmission rate transmits more intervalsl as possible. Experiments demonstrated that the proposed algorithm outperformed e-PCRTT algorithm. In order to show the performance, various evaluation factors were used such as the number of transmission rate changes, peak rate, transmission rate variability and so on.
A Design and Implementation of Mobile E-mail Transmission System Using PC Remote Control Technique

Recently, the ubiquitous computing environment being able to connect all kinds of computing elements at anytime anywhere becomes widespread in human life. In this paper, we focus on a PC remote control system using cellular phones. Especially, we design and implement an mobile e-mail transmission system using PC remote control technique. By using our remote controller, cellular phone users can login into their own PC, and then send any file to others by e-mail attachment. To show the correct running of our system, real demonstration results are presented. We are sure that by opening our source code to the public our results can play an important role to encourage development of the various mobile remote control functionalities.
Design & Implementation of a Multimedia communication Grid

Grid is a distributed computing model for next to the WWW computing model. Java language is developed for distributed computing and is being commonly used for WWW applications. Java can also be used for designing and implementing Grid systems. We introduced the basic concepts of Grid and implemented a new computing grid system. We test proper distributed applications on the multimedia grid system and analyzed the execution results. The execution results showed that the grid performance was much better than the legacy systems.
Implementation of Emotion Recognition System using Internet Phone

In this paper, we introduces contents about the emotion recognition and character display expressing emotion. In this paper, we proposes on things like how to search characteristic parameters expressing user emotion, how to deduce emotion through pattern matching algorithm. Also, we implemented display platform recognizing the caller's emotion over internet phone. It display character animations expressing emotion as the result deduced by emotion recognition algorithm.
An Enhancing Caching Technique by the SOP(Shared Object Page) for Content Adaptation Systems

People access web contain via PC and many other devices. In other words, not only they access information by a PC connected internet, but also they get information through a mobile phone, a PDA even D-TV. In this article, to resolve the problem, we suppose new web caching mechanism called 'SOP(Shared Object Page)'based on applying of meta data of web page information and storing adapted objects.
An Architecture Analysis and Current Status of Games On Demand

In case of the service of the existing PC package game, the production cost and distribution cost is high, the illegal copies by Internet is widespread. To prevent, game production companies and distributors provide a GOD(Games On Demand) service that players download the game content by internet to play games. But, there is little research on current status of GOD service in the country. Therefore, in this paper, we define GOD service, analyse the structure of GOD service, describe domestic current status and research on the problem and solutions of GOD service. This paper gives useful information to companies providing GOD.
A Study on Knowledge-based e-Learning Model

In order to expand e-Learning and to increase effect of e-Learning, e-learning should be improved more and more. It is achived when reflecting learning planning, teaching method design, well-designed operation, etc. The quality of e-Learning can be influenced by the development method and operational method, and the quality of e-learning can decide teaming effect. That is, the development method(model) of contents influence contents quality, and contents quality decides learning effect. Therefore, this study, analyzing e-Learning models and introducing "Knowledge-based e-Learning Model" which can increase quality of e-Learning, should contibute to achieve e-Learning purpose.
A Study on Methodology for Protection of Malicious Traffic in Groupware Network System

The blocking of malicious traffic in groupware network system is used to prevent the spread and distribution of malicious traffic. The method protecting from malicious traffic in groupware system is designed to handle the malicious traffic of various routes with the internal course of groupware, which leads to lighten the load of security and traffic. It was impossible to block this kind of traffic at the traditional structure. When the protection of the proposed groupware system is performed, there appears to be a great change for the rate of a load factor at the CPU of Backbone Switch which is connected to the internal gateway. The load factor of CPU, which was increased with the traffic, is now remarkably reduced after the internal gateway is set up. This is to show that a lot of malicious traffic pass through the internal network and that network environment is faced to the menace of many malicious traffics. This paper is to show the efficiency of protection of internal gateway proposed in this study, for the rate of CPU of Backbone Switch was about 17% a day, but was dropped up to the 4% after the malicious traffic was removed.
Estimation of the Probability Distribution for Handoff Duration Time through Goodness of Fit Test

The handoff area is the region where a call can be handled by the base station in any of the adjacent cells, and duration time is viewed as the time a mobile station resides in the handoff area. In this paper, probability distribution about hand off time one of important parameter at traffic modelling in mobile communication system was estimated. First, point statistic is applied using sample data obtained from simulation result to choose the group of distribution of handoff duration time. Second, parameters are estimated to decide specific distribution function. For this, the value of parameters is calculated using MLE(Maximum Likelihood Estimate.) and goodness of fit test is performed. finally these results show that handoff duration time follows gamma distribution.
Hybrid Anti-aliasing Method for 3D Object represented by Point Sampling

This paper proposes a new hybrid anti-aliasing method for reducing aliasing appearing on an implicit surface using the point sampling. The hybrid anti-aliasing method is a method that finds differences in the values of pixel shown in Z-buffers for an implicit surface and thereby uses each of three types of Z-buffer. After determining the level of differences, it expresses a 3 dimensional object by using a multi Z-buffer if the level is severe, a double Z-buffer for a middle level, and only the original Z-buffer for a negligible difference. In comparison with the existing method in which multi Z-buffers have been entirely used for enhancing the anti-aliasing effect, the hybrid anti-aliasing method is an efficient method demonstrating an effect similar to the one using a multi Z-buffer while reducing the number of Z-buffers to be used.
Modeling Adaptive Context-Based Contents Navigation of Web Applications

Web Applications are rapidly increasing and the structure becomes very complicated. However, when users explore such complex Web applications, they cannot often grasp the current location and get the information that they want. Therefore, a novel approach to model the navigation of Web application contents is required. In this study, a framework has been presented for modeling adaptive context-based contents navigation of Web applications. The framework performs activities including navigation analysis, navigation design, and navigation realization. first, in navigation analysis domain is analyzed by using use case, focusing on navigation. Next, in navigation design three models have been produced: a navigation information model, a profile, and a navigation interface model. Finally, in navigation realization a Webpage navigation model and a component navigation model have been produced. In this work, several formal definitions and rules for checking validity of navigation model have also been provided.
