TagPlus: A Retrieval System using Synonym Tag in Folksonomy

Collaborative tagging describes the process by which many users add metadata in the form of keywords to shared content. Recently, collaborative tagging has grown in popularity on the web, on sites that allow users to tag bookmarks, photographs, videos and other content. In this paper, we analyze the structure and basic knowledge of collaborative tagging systems as well as their dynamical aspects. We also present a retrieval system, TagPlus, using synonym tag that is derived from WordNet database. Specifically, TagPlus, a synonym tag based system has users retrieve images from Flickr system. The proposed system show the images tagged by not only the tag that users input but also the synonyms that are synonyms with the tag.
Relationship between visual sign distribution characteristics and pedestrians' walking behaviors in underground shopping centers in Daegeon City

From our analysis of pedestrian walking behavior at the Daegeon underground shopping center, we think that the following changes might be necessary to improve sign placement and use. First, the discrepancy between the location of information signs and their rate of use should be reduced. Second, differences in information given by the signs that arise from problems with sign height and placement should be reduced. Third, signs should be distributed in such a way that they provide co-ordinated information about points and places. Fourth, the arrangement and placement of the signs should be considered from the view point of pedestrian walking behavior. Because there is difference in the number of installed signs and the rate of use of these signs, to increase the rate of information use it may be necessary to adjust the content and placement of the signs. Furthermore, analysis of subject walking paths shows that it is necessary for information to be offered about connections between spaces.
A Framework For Web Service Evolution using UML and OWL-S

Web service is an important technology to develop business to business e-commerce application. From a business perspective of time to market, dynamic evolution offers flexibility that software can adapt to unforeseen and fluctuating business requirements. OWL-S, based on OWL, is a service ontology language. The semantics provided by OWL support automation of service discovery, invocation, and service composition. In this paper we propose a framework to support dynamic evolution of service-oriented applications. We extend use-case analysis method to derive service description by defining requirements concept and mapping from requirement concept to activity diagram. A prototype is provided to show the validity of this framework.
An Improved Dynamic Quantum-Size Pfair Scheduling for the Mode Change Environments

Recently, Baruah et. al. proposed an optimal Pfair scheduling algorithm in the real-time multiprocessor system environments, and several variants of it were presented. All these algorithms assume the fixed unit quantum size. However, under Pfair based scheduling algorithms that are global scheduling technique, quantum size has direct influence on the scheduling overheads such as task switching and cache reload. We proposed a method for deciding the optimal quantum size and an improved method for the task set whose utilization e is less than or equal to
. However, these methods use repetitive computation of the task's utilization to determine the optimal quantum size. In this paper, we propose a more efficient method that can determine the optimal quantum size in constant time.
A Study on an Efficient Web Interface Design for Improving Education Effects on Cyber Spaces

Recently, the number of People who want to study by online has been gradually increased. In addition, people's desire is increasing that represents their special knowledge and personality with new paradigm of UCC(User Created Contents). Most of the educational web-sites offer currently boring and unified educational contents without interesting objects. Therefore I want to solve these problems of existing online educational web-sites and I strongly propose the method of design to make the place educational and useful that everyone can enjoy and manifest the user's dispositions. On this study, it's possible to make pleasant environment and improve educational effects on cyber space by designing it in accordance with the individual tastes which have various design elements, beauties and facilities by the customized design method. As a result, this study proposes the model of online educational web-site having various interfaces and focusing on the customized design.
Transmedia Storytelling of Game and Film

The purpose of this study is to establish the principle that the contents transfer from one media to another media, especially between game and film. Firstly I described the advent of the media and the relationship between these two media applying the logic of 'remediation' suggested by J.Bolter and R.Grusin suggested. Based on these analysis, I draw the gameness and the storytelling, and study the case of transmedia storytelling between game and film. Finally, I suggest the meaning and the value of transmedia storytelling in media culture.
The Transfer Technique among Decision Tree Models for Distributed Data Mining

A decision tree algorithm should be modified to be suitable in distributed and collaborative environments for distributed data mining. The distributed data mining system proposed in this paper consists of several agents and a mediator. Each agent deals with a local data mining for data in each local site and communicates with one another to build the global decision tree model. The mediator helps several agents to efficiently communicate among them. One of advantages in distributed data mining is to save much time to analyze huge data with several agents. The paper focuses on a transfer technique among agents dealing with each local decision tree model to reduce huge overhead in communication among them.
A Study on Developmental Alternatives of Regional Cultural Contents : The case of Chongju Jikji Festival

The Jik-ji has been proved as the oldest historical property in the world. And Now we are trying to make Jik-Ji as the representative cultural brand of Chung-buk. This paper analysed deterministic factors of the total satisfaction and consumption expenditure at the Jik-JI Festival, based on econometric method. We obtained several results. As expected we got positive relation between economic variable like income and satisfaction - expenditure of participants, but we didn't get anticipated results from demographic variables. Or so, men have high degree of satisfaction and expenditure, compared to women. But participants from outside Chung-buk had negative relations to satisfaction and expenditure of the event. Therefore, in order to develop Jik-Ji Festival as world-wide festival, it is necessary to build long term master plan and public organization of Jik-Ji Festival.
A Study on the Performance of Home Embedded System Using a Wireless Mesh Network

Communication systems beyond 3G should provide more than 100 Mbps for wireless access. In addition to smart antennas, wireless multi-hop networks are proposed to increase the cell size and throughput. For example, Zigbee technology is expected to provide low cost and low power connectivity and can be implemented in wireless mesh networks larger than is possible with Bluetooth. Also, home embedded system using wireless mesh network is one of the key market areas for Zigbee applications. If the line-of-sight path is shadowed by home obstacles, a direct connection between the access point (AP) and the node is not possible at high frequencies. Therefore, by using multi-hop relay scheme the end node can be reached to AP. In this paper, the relaying of data between the AP and the end node is investigated and the throughput and PER(Packet Error Rate) are evaluated in multi-hop wireless mesh networks by using DSSS/BPSK system.
Using Analysis of Major Color Component facial region detection algorithm for real-time image

In this paper we present a facial region detection algorithm for real-time image with complex background and various illumination using spatial and temporal methods. For Detecting Human region It used summation of Edge-Difference Image between continuous image sequences. Then, Detected facial candidate region is vertically divided two objected. Non facial region is reduced using Analysis of Major Color Component. Non facial region has not available Major Color Component. And then, Background is reduced using boundary information. Finally, The Facial region is detected through horizontal, vertical projection of Images. The experiments show that the proposed algorithm can detect robustly facial region with complex background various illumination images.
The Research On the improvements of Speaker's Frequency Characteristic using DSP Audio Processor

The purpose of this paper is to propose the design of VADSM(Value-Added Digital Speaker Module) which tunes up the speaker unit by measuring the speaker's frequency responses and controlling EQ band. This module can reduce audible distortions at particular frequency band and improve some flatness in the speaker's frequency response. VADSM is composed of DSP AMP and speaker unit. When a speaker transforms electrical signal to sound, the magnitude response at some frequencies are more or less than normal level. So, DSP AMP can be used to adjust those magnitudes up or down by controlling its EQ bands.
An MHP-based Method for Reserving Program via its Promotion Program

As the number of channels and programs are increasing dramatically, a viewer seriously needs to book a program at the very time of watching its promotion program by "only one time" pressing remote controller's button. The program reserving system requiring to search a program via EPG is usually hard to operate and some researches that allow a viewer to book a program via its promotion program require additional heavy facilities such as image processing or ultra-frequency recognizing systems. In this paper, a new program reservation system is introduced. the system allows a viewer to book a program via its promotion program. The system is conformable to MHP (which is the data service standard most widely adopted in the world) so that the broadcasting stations need no additional equipments to implement it as long as they follow the MHP standard.
Analysis of learning preferenece using student's sympathetic-parasympathetic response

One of major factors for learning achievement is the student's learning preference according to his character type. In course of learning, if a student studies e-learning contents opposed to his preference, then he would be under stress and his blood pressure and heart beat be changed. For measuring unwillingness, we used spectral components in frequency domain known as stress measure. For 13 children attending kindergarten we examined S(sensing)/ N(intuition) of MBTI and presented same learning contents during 10 minutes. During learning we gathered ECG signals, changed into HRV(heart rate variability), transformed time-varying HRV signal into spectral density in frequency domain. And then, we divided it into three areas of low(LF), middle(MF), and high-frequency(HF) and calculated stress measures by rates of those frequency area. We compared estimated stress measures of S group with them of N group whether students in different group preferred different contents or not. Experimental shows that students according to MBTI type prefer different contents.
Panoramic Image Generation for the Virtual Environment

This paper proposes a new algorithm that generates a panorama image for reconstruction of image-based virtual environment. Proposed algorithm can generate panorama image from input images using the projective transform based on the feature model and a fully immersive image-based virtual environment according to the user's view point by the sphere mapping. Especially, proposed algorithm supports robust methods of camera rotation and is applied to various images to estimate ist performance.
A Security Module for Vehicle Network Communication

Many modules such as controller, sensor, telematics terminal, navigation, audio and video are connected each other via vehicle network (CAN, MOST, etc). Futhermore, users can have ITS or internet services in moving by connecting to wireless mobile network. These network capabilities can cause a lots of security issues such as data hacking, privacy violation, location tracking and so on. Some possibilities which raise a breakdown or accident by hacking vehicle operation data (sensor, control data) are on the increase. In this paper, we propose a security module which has encryption functionalities and can be used for vehicle network system such as CAN, MOST, etc. This security module can provide conventional encryption algorithms and digital signature processing functionality such as DES, 3-DES, SEED, ECC, and RSA.
Cross Platform Game Development Environment for PMP

The existing PMP contents have been usually providing moving picture services. However the rapid increasement by users of mobile equipment brought the need for multipurpose convergence, it is needed to develop the appropriate contents as these products appear. In this paper we designed the easy development environment for game contents that provide limited killer services. Game with the limited PMP input devices as a variety of portable input devices are developed and the equipment function of PMP itself is enhanced, its field of application will be further extended. So, we will design cross platform game development environment for PMP that is able to give friendly and valuable game contents to PMP users.
Design of a Frequency Synchronization Algorithm for S-DMT Cable Modem

In this paper, we propose a frequency synchronization algorithm for S-DMT cable modem, which is practicable to the next-generation high capacity upstream physical layer in HFC networks. Analyzing several viable frequency synchronization algorithms of multicarrier systems, we proposed an algorithm using predetermined training sequence of repeated pattern in preamble field and residual frequency offset compensation with pilot signals. We verified that the simulation results of the proposed algorithm in AWGN showed good performance and suitability to the S-DMT upstream cable modem for fast frequency synchronization.
Device Discovery using Feed Forward Neural Network in Mobile P2P Environment

P2P systems have gained a lot of research interests and popularity over the years and have the capability to unleash and distribute awesome amounts of computing power, storage and bandwidths currently languishing - often underutilized - within corporate enterprises and every Internet connected home in the world. Since there is no central control over resources or devices and no before hand information about the resources or devices, device discovery remains a substantial problem in P2P environment. In this paper, we cover some of the current solutions to this problem and then propose our feed forward neural network (FFNN) based solution for device discovery in mobile P2P environment. We implements feed forward neural network (FFNN) trained with back propagation (BP) algorithm for device discovery and show, how large computation task can be distributed among such devices using agent technology. It also shows the possibility to use our architecture in home networking where devices have less storage capacity.

The P2P(Peer to Peer) business, which has brought the great wave all over the world, was made possible as a user's environment is getting improved through the introduction of high-tech PC, and the access service of high-speed internet. P2P is the form that anyone using computer could be both a provider and a user by searching or connecting to the personal computer each other out of the concept of server and client. In other words, it is the system made by the technique which could share the data connecting between the PC of the person with the information and the person searching the information. Recently a various system of P2P is under the development which could be applied to the electronic commerce among the companies which is not only the file share among the individuals. In this paper, we propose the more effective electronic business system making use of P2P.
A Study on the Utilization of Platforms of Digital Cinema Aside from a Theater

Digital cinema is an important contents provider and powerful contents as itself in the paradigm of media convergence. Digital cinema extend its screening platforms to the public television, CATV, internet and mobile channels beyond a theater. This study derives peculiar features of digital cinema that first screening on these platforms with case study. Furthermore, this study investigates features of digital cinema according to the multiplicity of platforms and a method of the utilization of digital cinema in the rapidly changing situation.
